First, the glassware is cleaned using a 3-dunk system where the final rinse is sanitizer rather than clean water (see images). I react to sanitizer residue on glasses, and, as an MD, I assure you that any exposure is detrimental to your GI microbiome. We politely asked whether the glasses could simply be rinsed and dried before serving but were told this would only be possible during slower periods. As a workaround, we began bringing our own glasses. Second, the bar staff assured us their pours were standard 16 oz pints. To avoid confusion, we marked our glasses at the 16 oz line. On a later visit, the owner's daughter (whose approach to customer service was unnecessarily confrontational) stormed over and informed us in a rude tone that their glasses were actually 14 oz "shakers," not pints. She then poured the beers well below 14 oz. After measuring the remaining volume at home, the pour was close to 10 oz. We own 14 oz beer glasses, and to receive true 14 oz, the glass would need to be filled to the rim, which obviously is not how beers are served. In practice, customers are receiving roughly 10 oz pours for $7 - excessive and misleading, especially when places like Yard House serve actual pints for $5.49 in properly dishwasher-cleaned glassware. Regarding the food, everything is supplied by Sysco, and nothing is made in-house. It is served on plastic or aluminum trays. Overall, the combination of lack of properly clean glassware -- which is the bare minimum an establishment charging premium prices should provide -- deceptive pour sizes, and the dismissive handling of legitimate customer concerns left us very disappointed. We won't be returning.

We actually had the pleasure of running into Robert as we were leaving our hotel. He was incredibly friendly, took the time to tell us a little about San Antonio, and genuinely made us feel welcomed to the city. We mentioned that we needed to make a quick grocery store run but would stop by McIntyre's afterward. Sure enough, when we arrived later, Robert recognized us immediately and welcomed us with open arms! From the moment we walked in, he made us feel like celebrities. His hospitality, personality, and attention made us feel incredibly special. It's amazing how one person can completely elevate your experience while visiting a new city. Thank you, Robert, for making us feel like a million bucks and giving us such a warm San Antonio welcome! We'll definitely remember this experience.

I also have attended a puppy yoga event that was hosted here in collaboration with other orgs. There's plenty of parking and good drinks. We arrived around 5 PM and were seated right away since the restaurant wasn't overly crowded yet. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was well decorated and we found ourselves trying to explain who Elvis was to the kids. My wife was a little disappointed to learn they don't have frozen margaritas, although they do rotate other frozen drinks through their machine. We tried the Key Lime Colada, which was excellent, along with an order of pickle chips while we looked through the menu. I ordered the steak salad, while my wife put together a vegetarian meal from the side dishes. My daughter chose the kids' spaghetti and actually liked it, which is always a win considering how picky she can be. For my boys, we found a pretty good ordering hack. They split the pizza burger that was on special, and we also ordered the steak-bite entrée for them to share. The steak bites were actually less expensive while providing more meat than ordering a regular sirloin, and the steak was excellent. Overall, everyone left happy with both the food and service. The steaks were particularly good, and there were quite a few desserts that looked tempting, but by that point none of us had room left. TJ's turned out to be a great stop on the drive home from the Frio. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we're coming through.

The first issue was using the InKind app. We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it because ordering ahead wasn't working, and none of the employees seemed familiar with the process. One employee was patient, friendly, and genuinely tried to help us figure it out, which I appreciated. After finally placing our order, we were told it would take about 15 minutes. Instead, we waited roughly 40 minutes, and didn't receive our food until 11:00 p.m., right at closing. I understand we came during the last hour before closing, which is why I specifically asked if we had enough time. If the kitchen was backed up or our order was going to take 40+ minutes that late in the evening, I would have completely understood. I just wish we had been told that up front instead of being quoted 15 minutes. By the time we received our food, it was closing time. Thankfully we ordered it to go, because if we'd planned to eat there, we wouldn't have had the opportunity. When our food was finally ready, the bag was already ripping because something inside had leaked. The employee noticed right away, grabbed two new bags, and repacked everything, which I appreciated. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu: the Cali Chick (lettuce wrapped), Hot Chick, Buff Chick, Little Mule, Totchos, onion strings, sweet potato fries, and a Teriyaki Chicken Caesar Wrap (which we haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that one). Unfortunately, the food we did eat was very disappointing. The lettuce-wrapped Cali Chick was a mess--the lettuce was so wilted it couldn't even function as a wrap. The onion strings, Totchos, and sweet potato fries had all lost their crispness by the time we got them, and everything was lukewarm or cold. The Little Mule ended up being our favorite burger, while the Hot Chick definitely delivered on the spice. Ironically, the sweet potato fries were my favorite side, even though they came in the smallest portion. Our total was over $100 before the InKind discount, and I honestly wouldn't pay full price for this meal. The quality just didn't match the price. I don't know if the kitchen was short-staffed or if something else was going on that night, but waiting 40 minutes after being quoted 15 minutes--especially with almost no one else ordering--only to receive cold, soggy food was incredibly disappointing. I do want to give credit to the employee who helped us. He was polite, apologized several times for the delay, and even repacked our order when he noticed the leaking bag. Unfortunately, the overall experience and food quality just didn't live up to the price. Based on this visit, I couldn't justify spending over $100 for the experience we received. I hope this was just an off night, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved a 2-star review.
