    Courtyard at Estancia
    Randi K.

I stayed in the hotel, Estancia so it was convenient but also I enjoyed the courtyard ambience, the friendly and accommodating service and perfect variety in menu items- I went three days in a row for breakfast. I loved the Healthy Kick breakfast sandwich - the egg whites were extremely thick and NOT overcooked at all. It had Havarti and fresh spinach, turkey lunch meat - all on a buttered English muffin. Then the last day I ordered just one slice of the challah bread French toast and it was exactly the sweetness I needed.

Stayed a couple of nights and decided to have breakfast here at Paseo Bar. I had the tostada breakfast and it was delicious! The coffee was great too and we enjoyed the great service! The restaurant and holiday decorations are do beautiful and made my heart happy. They had fun uplifting Christmas music and we real enjoyed! I love this place!

No ambiance to speak of. You eat in a brightly lit lobby on diner like tables. Ok for breakfast I guess but not dinner. Apparently they can't dim the lights. Had dinner at the bar. Reasonably priced drinks. Friendly service but the kitchen was ultra slow. Was given a free drink to apologize for it. The blackened fish tacos were exceptional!!! Highly recommend the tacos. Based on dinner was back for breakfast since staying at the hotel. Very slow service again. Fried eggs were cold. Hash browns were tasty. Bacon crispy but ultra thin. Never came back to refill coffee. Unbelievable.

Spacious bar with couches, plenty of bar stools and more tables. It is right in the middle of the hotel making it so easy for people to gather and enjoy Happy Hour. We tried lots of their cocktails ... enjoyed every one of them. My fav was the Paloma rimmed with Tajin. I will give them props because the Classic Margarita was a very close second. The Poteet Sweet was a great dessert cocktail to end the night. The appetizers of choice were Texas Fajita Nachos and the Filet Mignon Philly Sliders. Such a huge plate of nachos ... covered with plenty of fajitas, queso and pico. Every bite was full of flavor through to the end. The sliders were covered in cheese, grilled onions and peppers, and super tender steak on sweet slider buns. Addicting flavors. The service was good .. they were busy!! I think I found a new Happy Hour haunt. Don't miss Lazo as the hotel restaurant.

Paseo Bar is 410 hidden gem! This restaurant/bar is located inside Hotel Estancia del Norte. If you've never visited this hotel it is definitely a must. Their patio is absolutely beautiful and if you love architecture, you will love the design and structure of this building (very old San Antonio...but in a good way). I've been to Paseo Bar a couple times during lunch time and everything I've ordered has been delicious. Who would've known they have the most amazing burgers and salads?! I've never had a drink at their bar, but they have a huge selections of drinks and their menu sounds amazing. I think they have happy hour daily and live music on Fridays. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good lunch menu, or to have drinks after work with friends (and skip the traffic).

This was a pretty mediocre hotel bar. It was quite overpriced for a hotel bar off the side of I-410. Some of the cocktails were $20-$25 which was nuts. The food was subpar. Service was okay. Overall, this place was nothing to write home about.

    Bacon burger. Sooooo good!

This is NOT the same menu from years ago.... definitely an upgrade! All of the bar staff were super friendly and offered friendly conversation while they service you. Price points are reasonable so there's no need to leave the hotel for a nice meal.

We visited Mama's Café on a Saturday around noon. When we arrived, we were greeted right away and…read moreinformed that they seemed to be short-staffed. We were given the option of waiting about 15 minutes for a table or sitting in the bar area, so we chose one of the high-top tables in the bar. The café itself is very cute and has a charming atmosphere. The bar area has red neon lighting along the ceiling, which gives the room a distinctive glow. After ordering coffee and waters, we decided on the fried mushrooms, the meatloaf plate, and the Breakfast Pile. They never ended up refilling any of our drinks. The fried mushrooms came out first and were piping hot. They were served with both white gravy and ranch. The ranch was pretty tasty, but the mushrooms themselves were fairly bland and quite greasy. To be fair, deep-fried mushrooms aren't exactly a light dish, but I found myself adding salt to everything to bring out more flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf contained carrots, which was an interesting touch. The slices were very thick and firm, and honestly didn't resemble or taste like a traditional meatloaf. I asked for the gravy on the side and ended up dipping each bite into it, but the dish still wasn't my favorite. The green beans were the biggest miss for me. They had a mucky flavor that reminded me of mop water. The Breakfast Pile was decent enough: potatoes, sausage, eggs, and gravy layered together. Unfortunately, it also felt underseasoned and could have benefited from more flavor. The standout item of the entire meal was the biscuit with honey butter. They initially forgot to bring the honey butter, and I'm very glad we asked for it because it completely made the dish. The biscuit was warm, soft, and by far the most enjoyable thing we ate. Overall, Mama's Café has a cute atmosphere and friendly service despite being understaffed when we visited. However, most of the food felt underseasoned and lacked flavor. If you're looking for a cozy spot to sit and chat, it's worth a visit, but based on this meal, I probably would only come back if someone said it was their favorite restaurant and I try what they order

Waiter said it was fine and that I could pull them off.... Nice. I did and revealed quite a bit of ice-burg lettuce just getting a little brown.....maybe a free specs of bacon that costs extra.....they really push it also. I won't eat here again. Besides the place needing a really good cleaning..... everything. You'd probably be amazed how must dust you are eating when the air conditioning system starts blowing. Look at the picture frames and electrical outlets with power cords, blow up the picture and see. They don't bother cleaning the table sides or menu holders......YUCK So I tried with the on duty Manager in the ASH gray tshirt who I thought at first was the Dishwasher. He was Ok the first conversation, we told him we just wanted the table to be cleaned. They complied, took them twice though. The second conversation he listened but I could tell he couldn't care less, so I looked for reasons to not to call the Health Inspector and asked him for some??? He told me to call the Managing Partner and kinda laughed then walked off. I saw this place must be owned or Managed-by Texas Roadhouse...... what a shame, this place could be great !! It is NOT. Additional note: Restrooms were filthy and unattended, used paper all over and unattended trash overflowing. I just think this is a sign of poor Management at this location. Maybe some re-training is in order ?? The single bartender was also overwhelmed. Plenty of waitstaff checking phones, group talking where they could have been helping out other areas that needed attention. This is the Culebra and Loop 410 Location. I never had a problem at 1604 and Culebra/Shaenfield Rd. Location....... I just wanted to be clear.
