After a long day on the road, LongHorn Steakhouse in Rolla was exactly the kind of stop we needed. I went with the 6-ounce sirloin, paired with a baked sweet potato and fresh steamed broccoli. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked just the way I wanted, with a nice grilled finish that gave it that classic steakhouse taste. The broccoli was hot and fresh, and the sweet potato was a perfect side after a full day of travel, warm, filling, and a great complement to the steak. Finally got to Rolla to try Longhorn and it was not a good impression. Seated quickly and in a booth. Appreciated that. Server was fine. She became more engaged when, I believe, she saw we were not having the best experience so I give 4/5 stars for noticing but also because she was more attentive and gave me an extra plate quickly when I asked bc of the steak swimming in clarified butter that was supposed to be in a separate dish for the lobster instead of floating around the plate. Ribeye was actually really thin. You can see in the pics, about the same size as a thin ribeye from a recent grocery purchase I made. It was actually cooked well - for the size I would have expected overdone. Biggest issue is when I cut a piece and started to chew I had the shockwave from teeth on bone. A little chunk of bone was still in the ribeye. Pic included. I told her after we paid so she could warm the kitchen staff. Ribs - fine. Lobster - rubber. Could have thrown it across the room and it would have bounced at least twice. See pics. Also, the butter issue. Sides - side salad was crisp and the cucumber was fresh. Mash was interesting, and that could be because it's processed potato, a gluey issue from over-mixing, or that it was also taking a swim in the spilled butter. Fries were very tasty. Mac was okay. Excellent food and fantastic service! On our way to Springfield, Missouri, we stopped at LongHorn Steakhouse in Rolla. We sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait--perfect for making good time on the road. We ordered sirloin steaks, which were cooked perfectly, along with mushrooms, asparagus, and a bowl of French onion soup. Everything was delicious--the asparagus was tender and flavorful, and the French onion soup was rich and done just right. It was definitely worth the stop for a solid, satisfying meal while traveling. We also met some really great people! Our bartender, Sarah, was especially wonderful--sweet, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. She's clearly a hard worker and takes pride in what she does. Sitting at T.J. Max parking lot waiting for my wife, shopping, thinking hungry. We always go to Culver's once a week but would like to treat her to a nicer experience and meal, so we come to the steak place.. They get us in at timely manner nice table, atmosphere a little loud music competing with people but I suppose that's the norm. We order drinks and a appetizer, delivery time normal not exceptional, order our meal, our side of restaurant starting to thin out, wait time 45 minutes, she ordered salmon and I ordered 12oz ribeye, that's a 10 minute prep time ok meal is delivered and my wife's salmon meal is adequate not great, my steak was ask to be medium with loaded bake potato, steak was raw and potato had butter I show it to server with out a word from me and she says oh my it's raw in 80% of center and potato isn't loaded. She takes it back and I get it back fifteen to twenty minutes latter after my wife has finished her meal, "she's a slow eater". Ok steaks right and potato, well if you call that loaded I should run to the store and buy them some supplies ! I eat the potato that is cold and half way into my meal have lost my appetite. I take out a twenty for the server, she was excellent, I didn't complain, the manager come over and ask how every thing was in a very loud voice that made everyone turn to us and look like we were complainers and he decides to take twenty off our eight dollar bill, "NOT EXCEPTIONAL" We leave feeling used not like a nice evening of my wife of 41 years. Staff was very nice and restaurant was nice. I ordered Flo's filet and the steak I was served was not a filet mignon. I am very familiar with cuts of steak, I brought it to their attention and was brought another that looked exactly like the first one.I have never seen a filet mignon so flat.. also it should practically melt in your mouth and this steak definitely did not. The store in Rolla MO just isn't that enjoyable. Music tends to be too loud and at times the service is only fair. The last time we were there the steaks were not impressive and we haven't been back. The one in Springfield MO has always been good with a pleasant atmosphere. In general a little pricey for what you get. read more

The food is always good at Longhorn. No matter what state or what location, I find consistency at every location, and pencil this location was no exception. Let me start with saying that I have no complaints about the food or the service, both are great. The BIG complaint we have is that the music is so LOUD you can't have a conversation with others at your table!!!! About the only person you can hear is the one sitting next to you. It makes no sense to have the music so loud. We have noticed that sometimes even the servers have trouble hearing when taking orders. Did not care for the service. I had lunch steak salad but it was very sparse amount of sirloin and dry. Husband had chicken sandwich and it was dry and not very good either. Music was loud. Ah yes the server was a little too personal with my husband she recognized him from time spent in a local gym. She touched his shoulder then continued gushing about how she sees him at this local gym. It was our wedding anniversary and I really wasn't thrilled on watching her make a spectacle of herself. Please speak to your employees that working the tip right from the get go is rude and carrying on about someones husband is even more rude. She is fortunate I am not a physical person and slap her. Also the steaks were cold and she did not have any of my order correct except the drink. They burned my steak. Not over cooked burned. The wait staff were attentive and seemed to be eager to help, but how do you fix a burnt steak , you can't. We got to go to the soft opening tonight at the new Longhorns in Rolla and it was definitely worth the wait. It's a beautiful new restaurant. We were seated right away, the service was very quick and nice. Our waiter Samra was extremely helpful and so nice to us and our son. We met a corp trainer named Jeff and he was very friendly and checked on us multiple times. It was a really great experience. The food was 100 times better than my expectations. I got the porterhouse, my wife got the salmon and they were both perfectly cooked, Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. Sometimes when you get a porterhouse, it's kinda stringy and all that. The one I had at Longhorns was nothing like that, it was a very nice cut of meat, perfectly cooked and extremely delicious. I ordered a Moscow Mule that was made perfectly. Even their peach tea was very delicious. Their sides incredible. The brussels sprout side I highly recommend, super delicious. The food is pretty fast and very good. The waiters and waitress' are fast and friendly. HOWEVER, the music is very, very loud during dinner rush.
