I've got to say this is one of the best Mexican food places in the area. Our fav in Rolla. The place has a nice vibe to it and the staff is friendly and attentive. They had a few new items in the menu and the Sopes sounded really tasty. And it was! The meats lay on top of this fried corn thick tortilla that you eat like a taco. Well worth the try. The food was terrible. The rice looked like it dyed orange. The refried beans were just paste and the main course a "large burrito" wasn't large at all. The salsa wasn't too bad. But not good. Your floors were slick like an ice rink. The bathroom was at least clean. But whoever cleaned it left a dirty rag under the sink. The waiter was nice. But when I happened to look in the kitchen I saw a cook throwing everything into a microwave. Who wants to eat at a restaurant that uses a microwave? That's just lazy! I saw a sign that said "kids eat half price" so I decided to take my two young children to Frida's for lunch on a Tuesday. Before ordering, I asked about the specifics on the 1/2 price for kids and was told that they were only 1/2 price on Mondays and Wednesdays. So, my whole reason for picking this place didn't even apply! If you have young children you know it's no fun to sit at a table with your kids and then decide to leave before ordering, so I decided to stick it out and give Fridas a try. I ordered an a la carte burrito for one child, a tamale for another, and lunch fajitas for myself. The burrito didn't have much sauce at all... almost as if it was rolled in sauce, with no extra on the plate. My son loved it though, as he does all burritos. The tamale was filled with shredded chicken and topped with a tomato beef sauce. It was decent, but not great. My fajitas were good. A decent sized lunch portion, but only about 10% of it was meat... the rest was veggies. Overall, I don't think I will be returning to Fridas... it was better than the local Los Cazadores, but if you're looking for great Mexican in the area, check out Los Arcos-- It can't be beat. read more

We at here during a graduation weekend in Spring 2021 and found it to be clean, fast, tasty and a great choice. We had the Chicken Fajitas, which were delicious. Being from California and not being able to find authentic Mexican food in Missouri, I was fairly skeptical going into this one. My skepticism was relieved when we pulled into what seemed to be a a hole in the wall spot (first sign of authenticity) and saw the taco Tuesday specials. Not only are the drinks priced very well for the amount they give you, the food itself was what I expected from a great Mexican spot, a lot of it for fairly cheap. Amazing service and even better food each time I go. Their takeout isn't as good but that's just because of travel time!! My friends enjoy their margarita towers and I enjoy their tacos. They're all super friendly and the ambiance is great, too. They have tv's to watch the sports games that are playing, a bar, and party-sized booths. read more

The past month or two I have been visiting Frida's on my days off to go and eat lunch. Usually the service is exceptional and the food is good. This time I was there was quite different though. As usual, I walk in and was seated decently quick, and that part was fine. I ordered my drinks and an appetizer and so far I was fine. I ordered my food and asked for a refill, but my drink was never returned. My food took way longer than expected, and when I did finally get my food, my drink never came back. I politely flagged down my waiter and asked for my drink back. He apologized, but then went to the back and got on his phone. About ten minutes later, I flagged down a different waiter and told him about my drink situation. He went and got me my drink and asked me to excuse the original waiter because he was, "crazy." I hope for better service in the future. read more

I'm so glad that I went to check this place out for myself. I'd heard mixed reviews. Some people get impatient with the service, but not all of the employees speak English, so you might have to wait for someone who is bilingual. Now that they've been established for over a year, they've definitely worked out whatever kinks they had. Personally if I'm going to a Mexican restaurant, I'd prefer the cooks all speak Spanish, means the foods going to be good, and spicy. I was SO satisfied with my food and service. I danced with almost every bite, which is a sure sign of deliciousness!! I ordered way too much, but didn't want to waste any, I all but licked the plate clean. Lol. Seemed like a decent looking place to try. Decided to go for dinner with my wife and kids. Went in and saw four tables seated only. A server had seen me but didn't say anything at all. We were deciding on leaving when another server I believe to be named Eric came over and asked how many. I'm told him four, he grabbed menus and said follow me. The entire time he kept his phone in his hand while listening to something on Facebook and stayed paying attention to it. A busgirl came and dropped off chips and salsa while Eric stayed paying attention to his little video while attempting to capture our drink order. A few minutes had gone by when he came back with our drinks and asked us if we were ready to order but did so as if we were an inconvenience to him. A completely different server dropped our food order off to us because our server was behind the bar with headphones on just watching on his phone. He never came by to check on us at all. A female server who's name I wasn't able to get checked up on us and when we needed got us a box for our leftover food. Service was far from good despite having three servers for such a small crowd possibly a total of 6 or 7 tables split between them. My son wanted a steak quesadilla and it came out with more onions than anything else. My wife and I got the street tacos. The chorizo one was by far the best and that's being generous. The chicken taco was bland. The other two were just completely over seasoned and not appealing. I really don't expect anything to come of this review but I hope other people who see this will take my experience as a sign to go elsewhere. None of it was worth it at all. read more
