When visiting, our relatives recommended this place. We were seated along the front windows. With it being nearly 100 degrees outside, being along the front windows (despite shades), it was HOT. Like, sweaty legs sticking to the bench hot. We were served chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. (Love free chips and salsa.) A pitcher of margaritas were ordered right away. My husband and I decided on the same dish (without even knowing... we must be meant to be.) We had the street tacos and divided them 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak. The tacos came with rice and beans on the side. The tacos were good, a little bland but still good. I can't remember what the other people in our party got but they seemed to like them. The food is ok but the service was good the menu is decent and the atmosphere is ok... overall Ay Caramba is a decent place for Mexican food. Although I've had better, but not in Missouri you can get some decent food here. And they have some good desserts one is like a strawberry shortcake but on steroids! Very delicious. Completely unexpected little gem! I hunkered down in Rolla to avoid some pretty rough storms while traveling from Atlanta to California via St. Louis. I had no expectations. Just needed a bit of dinner. What I found instead was an AMAZING dish called Pollo Cancun...chicken, shrimp, veggies with queso, rice and beans. It was perfection. I love Mexican food but hate cilantro. The staff ensured that not a hint of cilantro touched my plate. I had a nice little table surrounded by locals having a great time. I loved the entire experience, including the reasonable tab at the end! I don't often leave reviews but this place earned mine today. So grateful to the staff for giving me such a warm experience. We dine at this restaurant on October 6, 2023 at approximately 4:30 PM. With the exception of the nacho plate, the majority of the food was bland and lukewarm. It appears that my son-in-law's order was missed as they brought his out late and did not get the order correct. Coming from Arizona, we are used to eating Mexican food regularly. I ordered Kearny Asada, which came out only as some cooked pieces of steak with a little onion and cilantro. Tortillas were very soggy in all in all, the food was not prepared well. The server did nothing to address my son-in-law's botched order. We took most of the food home and ate it the next day after slicing it up with some seasoning. All in all, we will not be dining here again. read more

I had a couple Al pastor enchiladas - they were served with a delicious mole sauce. Yumm! The beans & rice were normal and good. I requested the hot sauce and it was home made and quite tasty. The food is fantastic! The salsa is made fresh in-house every single day. They also have a variety of authentic hispanic dishes but also have american-style "mexican" food. The servers and staff that work there are very friendly but do struggle occasionally to be fully staffed (but what small town business doesn't struggle with this). I think if they were better staffed some issues brought up in other comments such as slow service and orders being missed here or there, could be fixed/avoided. The restaurant has 3 different seating areas (even though I am pretty sure one of those rooms is an event/party room) that include tables with booth and individual chair seating. Delicious authentic Mexican restaurant We came as a family to Ay Caramba on a Sunday while visiting Missouri S&T, we were extremely satisfied with our experience. The waitstaff sat us extremely quickly and had our food out quickly, our waiter was very attentive the entire visit. The menu was extensive, but it didn't seem to hurt the quality or speed. Everything was really good, some of the best Mexican food I'd had in a long while. I had the shredded chicken chimichanga and it was to die for. Food was good but my someone in our group ordered a fajita that said nothing about pineapple in it and came served in half a pineapple.
