Stopped in for dinner during our iconic Route 66 trip across the country. This was a neat place with a lot of Memorabilia and items all around the walls. There was a game room, bar, and dining area. Our server was great at explains items on the menu and providing some great suggestions. I had the Ozark Burger which was huge! The flavor was great with the chargrilled flavor from the juicy burger combined with the Smokey bbq flavor from the pulled pork. Make sure you have lots of napkins if you have this burger! My wife and friend that both had the Pulled Pork Taters were both very happy with the flavors and size of this huge Tater. Overall we had a great experience and would eat here again. read more

Fries tasted great, but were a bit small of a portion for a place called Tater Patch; however the size of the tenderloin sandwich made up for it. We stopped here due to other Yelp reviews on our way to our hotel for the night. It's close to the freeway! The place had a nice ambience with a bar and TVs. Waitress was friendly, bathrooms were clean. My husband ordered the Ozark Surf and Turf with two sides (baked beans with some brisket in it, yum, and broccoli, meh). The steak was good, but the catfish was the star of the show! I had a bite of it and it had a really good batter that made it flaky and golden brown. My son loved the cheeseburger he ordered that had an egg on top. I tasted his fries and they were well seasoned! I ordered the nachos. It was a very generous portion, but just ok. It comes with some salsa and sour cream on the side. Lots of ground beef and a mix of yellow melty cheese and grated white cheese, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. A Giant Tenderloin Worth the Hype I'd seen billboards for this place along I-44 but never gave them much thought--until one caught my eye with a bold claim: a giant pork tenderloin sandwich. Challenge accepted. The restaurant says it's been around since 1965. Funny enough, I spent a few years in Rolla as a student and had never heard of it. Hidden gem? Maybe. The menu is extensive--burgers, potatoes, steaks, you name it. The pork tenderloin is front and center, proudly listed as their #1 pick. I went with that and chose potato salad as my side, lured in by the promise of it being "homemade." I've been burned by that label before. Will I ever learn? When the plate arrived, I knew I had a situation. This tenderloin was massive--I needed a game plan. While strategizing, I tried the potato salad. Homemade or not, it was surprisingly good: fully cooked potatoes with a mustardy, dill-pickle-forward flavor with chewy pieces of bacon that worked. The tenderloin itself needed a little help, so I added salt, pepper, mayo, and mustard from the table. I started with the overhanging edges of pork, paired with the dill pickles that came with the sandwich. The flavor was spot-on--rich pork, nicely seasoned, and satisfying. Eventually, I carved my way through enough of it to pick it up like a proper sandwich. The slice of onion and tomato tucked underneath made for a perfect finishing touch. This place is a solid pick for lunch or dinner in Rolla. Next time I'm passing through and hungry, I'll definitely be stopping again. read more

We were on our way back to saint louis from Lebanon MO, so decided to stop at this place in Rolla for a quick sit down and eat food. This place was quick to seat us. The server staff was quick to take our orders. The food was quick to be delivered to us. My youngest kid knows what she wanted to order right away for her drink which was sprint, however my oldest kid was indecisive, so her soft drink after gentle reminder to the staff came out with our food. We love the food here. But the atmosphere is typical bar (wish they had a separate entrance for food and maybe a bit of a divider. My favorite is the pork tenderloin strips! Served with a side of gravy! And it is a BIG order!! OK and my only butt is they really should up the quality of the dressing they serve with their mushrooms the fried mushroom are great, but I'm not a big fan of hidden Valley Ranch dressing. There are so many better ones out there even if you make your own.. all in all it still give it a 4 1/2 the food is very, very good if you don't mind the rest. read more

This is most definitely a bar that serves food. We came in for lunch on the last day of fall semester and found a couple of servers running themselves to death. We were getting ready to leave when our server finally got a chance to get our drink order. That was the way the experience went until we left. The atmosphere was just so comfortable. Weekends they might have live music, but it was fairly quiet today. I ordered the fried catfish, which is breaded in a family recipe. I had the baked beans which had a nice Smokey flavor. Hush puppies were included.. My husband ordered the country fried steak, which was recommended by the person who told us about this place. The wait staff was very nice and offered us drinks when we sat and took our order. We saw advertisements on the bill boards as we were driving from Uranus. We decided to wait out some storms and went to the Tator Patch. There's alot of parking in front and on the sides and back of the building. This has a bar setting. The waitresses were on it with drinks and food. Very friendly staff and they knew and gave good suggestions. We ordered chicken pot pie tator, Buffalo Chicken tater amd Cheeseburger Tator. All were very tasty. I recommend definitely going and trying this. There are TVs to watch while you are waiting and a music box if you want to play music. Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was super large and way more than one person could eat. I had to cut it in thirds and double up two pieces on the bun. It is not one of those ALL breaded fried pork chops. It's the perfect thickness and a real pork chop. The breading is crispy and full of country fried flavor. The sidewinder fries are delicious, but I love get them wherever they are served. Jacob got the chicken cordon blue tater. He said it was extra large and full of flavor. He was t disappointed. I'd prefer to give them a 4.5 but really couldn't knock them down to a 4.
