    Fried chicken and baked potato
    Carrie O.

On our way hone from Eureka Springs looking for something for supper and I love to find restaurants that aren't a chain. And this one fits the bill. We both had the fried chicken, baked potato and salad. The chicken is worth the 20/25 minute wait. Taste like home cooking! The baked potato was very good and the salad had bacon bits and cheese and cucumber. The waitress was very nice and kept our drinks full!

Simple home cooking. Relaxing atmosphere. Good for groups. Kitchen closes early so know before you go. Bar stays open later.

The pizza and fried chicken are great! You really can't go wrong when you stop to eat here. The "Reddog" pizza is a family favorite for us!

Best chicken around. Wife had a Reuben and was very pleased. Good food at a great price - what else could you expect?

My recommendation is that if you're going down I-44 near Leasburg, you stop in and fill up.

If you're in downtown St. Louis and craving something quick, creative, and seriously satisfying,…read moreSauce on the Side is a must-visit. Worth the wait! It has been packed with VEX Worlds. I ended up going two nights in a row, which should tell you everything you need to know. Night 1: The Fatty B This one lives up to its name--in the best way possible. Packed with flavor and perfectly balanced between savory and indulgent, every bite felt like comfort food done right. The crust was golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held everything together without falling apart. It's rich, so come hungry. Night 2: Meat Me in St. Louis Had to come back and try one of their signature options, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with meats but not overwhelming, and the flavors all complemented each other really well. It's hearty, bold, and exactly what you'd expect from something with a name like that. What really stood out both nights was the consistency--fresh ingredients, quick service, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it an easy go-to spot whether you're grabbing dinner solo or with a group of hungry robotics kids. Pro tip: Don't skip the dipping sauces--they take everything up another level. Two nights, two wins. I'd absolutely go back again.

First off, I was able to order online from their website. I had tried a couple times to order from the website, and it wasn't working, so I was pretty happy this time worked. I ordered the fold plus extra mozzarella, sauce, and a small strawberry fields salad. This is my normal order from this company over several locations and years. When I arrived to pick up my carryout order, I was impressed by the openness and cleanliness of the restaurant. However, the employee was not friendly. Like, not even a little bit. Asked for my name and handed me my food, no smiles, no thank you, nothing. I wasn't too concerned, it happens, and you can be as rude as you want to me as long as my food is correct. Sadly, it wasn't. So, the salad was great as always. The calzone, my poor calzone, was like they only put mozzarella. It had a very sad dollop of ricotta in one tip, and the mozzarella, which mind you I paid extra for extra, was literally a fraction of the amount it should be. My calzone was basically flat. Also, barely any parmesan on top, no garlic oil, just not at all what I was expecting. I was super bummed and didn't have the time to go back. Will I try this location again...that's a tough question. Splitting the two visits, one being fantastic and the other being not good, that's a three star rating. I guess maybe I'll try one more time, eventually. It's just sad when you know a product very well, look forward to it all day, just for it to not be anything what you expected.

I had ordered the food for pick-up, hoping that it would be quick. But, my friends who ordered in got their calzones sooner than our pick up order. We got the feliz navidad calzone, 5 piece pepperoni basil bites, and the taste two (calzone and buffalo chicken bites). All the food came at 3:15pm. I was expecting the bites to come out first. This was the experience at a different location we tried 2 days prior. Nonetheless, the food was just as delicious! It was made fresh. The mini is the perfect size. I got a regular size last time and I only ate half and took the other half home. My teen son (big appetite) couldn't even finish the regular sized one. We ate at this establishment twice during our vacation, so that should tell you how good it was! If it was up to my teen, we would've eaten there a 3rd time! The food is great. As a side note, After ordering and bringing the food, interaction with staff was very limited.

Even though I am thrilled to have one on the IL side of the river, it's a half hour drive to enjoy. The other day I was running errands and shopping in Edwardsville. I made it a point to do it around the lunch hour, so I could enjoy an calzone. I ordered at the counter as you do and lucky for me, the cashier was patient with me. As I ordered, I kept reading the menu and changed my mind two times and finally stayed with my third choice. Having a love of jalapeños, Pancho Villa was my final choice. Pancho Villa not only gave my fresh jalapeños, it was also filled with red peppers, smoked cheddar, Mozzarella and the meat was Chorizo prepared in Smoked Chili Oil. Yum-Yum and no heartburn. For dipping or spreading on top, I was given a cup of Queso. One nice thing about SOTS, is they offer adult beverages. They have an excellent selection of local craft beers and wines to pair with your calzone. I paired mine with, Pale Ale from Schlafly. The dining room is clean and crisp. It's done in an industrial style. They have regular tables and a few hightop tables, so you can choose which one is best for you. On the tables you'll find linen napkins with reusable flatware. If you can eat an entire calzone, I am impressed. For those of us who cannot, next to the soda machine is a stack of eco-friendly to-go boxes to put your leftovers in, to take home.
