Carnivore Ribeye & Cuban sandwich ( husband loved the Cuban Sandwich while I devoured most of the Ribeye)
    Jennie M.

My nephew graduated from basic training today therefore we wanted to take him somewhere good and nice to eat, and by far this place did not disappoint. The carnivore ribeye was cooked to perfection!!! Taste was a 10 out of 10!!! Our service was amazing ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was incredible!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One our Hoorah peeps running/owning the facility so you know your taken care of. Where all warriors come to feast

I didn't have great expectations for Carnivores but holy cow it was great. The drinks were awesome and the steaks were a great cut and cooked to perfection. The service was truly amazing and we never really had to wait for any service whatsoever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was small inside but we never felt like it was small at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I must say though the crème brûlée was torched at the table, which was an amazing added touch. This is the best steakhouse in the area and worth visiting.

While visiting in St. Robert we heard about this place and decided to take a chance. Good decision. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Entrees are mostly burgers and steaks. Didn't want to take a chance on a steak so went with their carnivore burger - prepared with steak meat so had high expectations. And they were met. Burgers were prepared perfectly. One medium rare, with just a little pink, the other medium, cooked but not dry. I like broccoli and they offered it with garlic, delish. We also ordered fries, but they were a little disappointing (but not bad enough to knock them out of the 4.5 - 5-star range). With this experience I think I'll try a steak next time.

The food was very good!! We had a problem with the orders!! Not only didn't they come out all together, some food was delivered to another table!!! Total confusion!!! Butter & cornbread didn't show up until the meals were finished!!!Asked to buy T~Shirt & had to remind her again to check!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was clean with nice decor on walls![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend for the food, but not the service.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little spot. Don't let the strip mall vibe throw you off, this is a really good restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had dinner while in town for a Fort Leonard Wood ALC graduation. Service was prompt and engaging. We started with drinks and then moved on to dinner. Two of us had ribeye, and one person had New York strip. For the various sides we ended up with asparagus, mac & cheese, honey roasted carrots, salad, and cornbread. All of it was really good. Our meat was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly tender. A really great steak. The waitress forgot our salad until after dinner came, but she did eventually bring it and apologized. I had one small issue in that I ordered a dirty martini, Tito's, dry. What I received was some kind of martini with citrus and orange peels, with three olives across the top. It was definitely not a dirty martini, and it was definitely not dry. The manager graciously took it off our bill and I switched to wine. It was a tiny blip on the radar and did not detract from our lovely evening at all. The wine I ordered was not in stock, but he brought over a lovely alternative that went perfectly with my meal.

So good we came back twice in one day! I had been disappointed by the food during this trip, but this place def changed my mind. We had a pretty big party and everyone raved about the food. Cocktails, appetizers, and entrees were all delicious. The owner (or manager) came to the table as soon as we were seated and made small talk. The bartender, busboy, and waitresses were all very nice and recognized us when we came back that evening. Considering what everyone ordered, it was probably about a third of the items on the menu, and no one complained. Would def come back a 3rd time.

Took my family here visiting from out of town and knew this place would not disappoint. From the food, the service, the ambience and country home feeling. This place is a great stop when you get a chance.

While visiting the area we stopped by for lunch, we're from out of town...staff were very friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was clean with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was prepared as ordered and not a long wait (ribeye & loaded baked potato), plus a salad. Steak had great flavor and really hit the spot. Recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Was here for dinner right before heading back to the hotel. A reservation was made to make sure we had a seat. Once we got there, our door was opened by who we assume was the owner or manager. He explained that there were a lot of activities going on in the city so it wasn't as crowded. No biggie...better for us, lol! We were seated and ordered. My boo had wings and I had the beef brisket. The food was really good and the atmosphere was really nice. Our waitress got missing a few times so we had to rely on another waitress but we got what we needed. I would definitely return here!

    My ticket

Long story short: this place is dishonest and has bad food I took a chance on this place despite the steaks in the photos not looking great because I really wanted a steak and this place is right off-post. It ended up being the worst steakhouse I've ever eaten at. It was breakfast and I ordered the sirloin (priced at $22 on the menu). They brought me out the worst looking ribeye you've ever seen, and I asked my server if that was their sirloin (their ribeye is $36). She told me yes, it was. I could only eat about two thirds of it because it was such a poor quality cut of beef, then asked for my check. When they brought it, they wanted to charge me for the ribeye. I pushed back and told my server that I had clarified twice whether it was their sirloin, and she agreed this was the case but blamed it on their system. She then said they fixed it and gave me the new price but didn't want to print out a bill for me to see. It still seemed high in my mind so I asked her to print it, and I discovered that they added a random menu item for $3 to try to get back a little bit of the money they were missing out on after having input and cooked the wrong meal. I paid it because it's only a few bucks but it left me feeling cheated. The server or the cook or someone made a mistake, tried to hide behind it being a systems issue, didn't even want to recognize it and just assumed I'd be fine paying whatever. I think that on top of the food being bad, this is quite a dishonest company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seems like with their tacky decor, menu names, etc. they're just trying to capitalize on their proximity to FLW and assuming that service members will eat whatever slop is put in front of them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, their default tip is 25% which is just laughable. Avoid this place.

Smoked brisket, Cole slaw , street corn.

Arrived on Friday at 6:00pm and fortunately seated immediately. Guess we were the early crowd because when we left the place was almost full. Friday' special was the smoked brisket and $5 Margaritas. Margaritas were excellent! The brisket was a bit dry and cut a bit thick. Cole slaw was a bit watery. Street corn had a bit of a kick but very good. The 2 sides were a bit skimpy in my opinion. Over all experience was quite good.

Experiences have always had up-and-down moments, but this time was disappointing because I really wanted it to be great. It just wasn't. The Good: The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the waterfront ambiance is spot on. It's clearly the place to be at the lake--so good job on the venue. The Service & Atmosphere: Service was adequate, but far from fine dining. If you're charging premium prices, the service model needs to match. Having random runners drop food at the table without knowing who ordered what is diner or casual Mexican restaurant service, not an elegant dining experience. The new manager stopped by twice--a nice touch, until we actually provided constructive feedback. Instead of offering a remedy, he offered excuses about being new and didn't handle criticism well. The Food: Apps (Deviled Eggs & Tuna): Both looked like they'd been plated earlier in the day--they had an unappetizing "sheen" to them that made them look leftover rather than fresh. The flavor on the eggs was completely muted, and the tuna was equally lusterless. Salads: We split the Caesar, and our friends had the wedge. They were served without any offer of fresh pepper. When we flagged down a staff member, they brought out cheap grocery-store salt and pepper grinders. Later, we were told the new chef prefers not to offer pepper on the table. With all due respect to the chef: that's the guest's choice, not yours. (Side note: the wedge was tasty, but oddly wasn't actually cut into a wedge). Mains: The ladies had the Sea Bass--the dish that originally put this place on the map. It was okay, but not as good as it used to be; the new Asian flair and bowl presentation take away from what used to make it the star of the show. The pork chop was good and thoroughly enjoyed. My lasagna had a great portion size and good base flavor, but it was dry as jerky with practically zero sauce. The Verdict: The restaurant will continue to thrive simply because of its location and the lack of competing fine-dining options on the water. But when you're dropping $500 on dinner, you expect accountability and an outstanding meal. We won't be back anytime soon.

The drinks were also very reasonably priced, which was a nice surprise since everything at the lake seems more expensive than KC. We also got to meet DJ Mike, who noticed my Boulevard hat and started a fun conversation about being from Lee's Summit. He was a blast great music, fun games, and kept the energy going. My fiancé and I also shared a poke bowl, it's a lot smaller of a portion than if you were to go the ramen/poke bowl place. For a steep price of $24 but it was good to try. The shrimp wasn't all that but what do you expect for a landlocked state. Both sides lacked any real flavor, but the Mac&Cheese was "terrible" and my wife could only stand 2 bites before not touching it again.
