Ice pellets are fantastic for cooling off on a hot day.

Excellent, best home style food for miles! Try their fries, fried okra, chicken, burgers, and salads. The service is honestly sincere and courteous. We would drive for miles past Kerrville or Fredericksburg to get to this cafe.

Amazing Chicken Fried Chicken, Garlic Mashers, Okra and a nice fluffy roll..what was so good was the batter was crunchy, never had better, most are soggy after the gravy. Locals come here, fairly busy during the day. Ez in and out, friendly staff.

Hubby's bacon cheeseburger w/onion rings. He'd already eaten an onion ring or two by the time I took the photo...

Visited for the first time Saturday evening. Our waitress was attentive as well as incredibly sweet, and the food ordered came out fresh and hot. I ordered the crispy shrimp tacos while my husband preferred a burger. Both were delicious!

Stopped here to eat on our way from Austin to Fredericksburg. It's a quaint country spot with one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen. Most likely because the town is so very small, not many places to choose from. When we first arrived I was hesitant with our rental car because there were teenage boys in the lot of the restaurant throwing rocks at cars (this was around 11 am). We went inside and mentioned it to our server who laughed it off and said they're on the football team and normally "good boys". She also mentioned that their coach was at the table near the spot she seated us. He and the other adults just didn't care. Our server finally went out to yell at the kids. Seriously thought I was in some bizarre movie about high school football ruling a small town. The interior has potential with some of the western, shabby chic combinations of woods and metals but the tables were cheap and reminded me of a fire hall. The checkout counter was covered with religious nonsense. I had chicken and waffles (for the first time ever) and the serving was enormous. Actually pretty ridiculous in portion size. The waffle was ok and the breaded chicken breasts were dry. Still though this was definitely an experience and adventure during our desert road trip.
