The service was horrible. The cheese omelet is $6.95 on the menu, comes with toast and hash browns. I order and she asks do u want American, Swiss or cheddar. I ask for cheddar. The order arrives with no hash browns bc they ran out. The only substitute that is offered is third slice of toast, no thank you. The bill comes and the cheese omelette charged at 9.95. I ask about the price diff and she says the cheddar was extra. 3.00 almost half the cost of the original $ for omelette. I ask if she'd adjust the price for no potatoes, she says no they're complimentary. You can't make this up. There is zero ambiance but could be overlooked if the service and food were good, but barely edible. Lois C read more

Disclaimer: The review regards accessibility & attitude, but not food. The restaurant is quite small, so my husband went inside first to inquire about where we buy sit, as I use a manual wheelchair. He was very bluntly told that the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. Even that, he had to find out only after hunting someone down to ask; nobody ever inquired as to whether he needed help or seating. He got the feeling that non-locals need not apply. read more

I went there for the first time today. The pancakes were out of this world. The prices are so inexpensive I could not believe it. The place was packed. We had a great server named Chrissy who could not have been any nicer. This will be my new go to place when I'm in Riverhead. Really great vibe. read more

The food here is always good. It's friendly unpretentious and usually busy. I especially loved the corned beef hash.

Greasy spoon diner. Prices are excellent. Service was prompt and courteous. I had a western omelette with a side of bacon. My wife had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Everything was excellent! We'll be back. read more

If you wanna wait 5 business days for barely edible food this is definitely the place to go. We waited over an hour after we put our order in and watched at least 5 people that walked in 20 mins after us get served first, don't waste your time eating here! Staff is also very rude! read more

A must try when you go to the riverhead outlets. Been going here for several years now and I am tempted to come out here just for the breakfast and skip the outlets. Its small dive a mile or so up the road from the main entrance to the outlets so don't miss it. It's small, and not so clean and the bathrooms make you feel like you need a shower after using them but it comes with the territory. Grab a seat and order. Waitress is pleasant and quick. Plantation breakfast is great and so is the corn beef hash, but feel free to get creative, gonna be greasy and great no matter what. read more

Lollys is old school roadside truck stop comfort road. Nice folks work there, don't rush Lolly! Food is always good and prices are awesome. Not high style dining for the fancy folks, just ole style eatin for us locals, travelers are welcome too... mind yer manners! read more

Sad that the old witch who seats people is so unfriendly. I assume it's Lolly. Last 2 times I tried to eat there, because I used to frequently eat there, they were beyond rude. 1st time I excused it as they were busy. When you walk in they do not even recognize that you are there. Then when they do, they tell you to wait outside like you were bothering them. I was just trying to leave my name or see how long the wait was. This last time, she was so nasty, I told her she was an "Egg Nazi" and I would never come back. The food is a typical "greasy spoon" shack, it's not good enough to compensate for your horrible customer service. Byeeeeee read more

Lolly's is about as local Riverhead as you can get. Nestled in between a tax place and a car dealership, it almost doesn't fit. If you get their too late over the weekend, the parking lot it share with the people who live behind the restaurant is full (all 9ish spots of it). Which is always a good sign. Inside you find a restaurant untouched by time. It's almost as if you stepped through a rift in the time-space continuum and were transported back decades. It feels like a perfect spot to get greasy bacon and eggs off a griddle that seen 30+ years of yolk and white. At any given time 3/4 of the people inside know each other, and will probably be talking about what's going on at Riverhead Raceway that weekend, or if they had heard from or seen somebody from their past recently (or the similar story that have seen that person and he's the same as he's ever been). If you're one of that 3/4 majority, you feel right at home. If you're from the other 1/4, you still feel right at home. The food is no frills. You walk in the place smells like a delicious greasy bacon fest (an aroma that lingers on any piece of clothing you take inside for the rest of the day). The plantation breakfast comes with just about every breakfast staple: 2 eggs made to order (over easy cooked perfectly), a sausage patty, 3 strips of bacon, home fries, 2 pancakes and 2 pieces of toast for $7.95. You really can't beat that. If you want a real blue-collar meal at a true Riverhead establishment. Lolly's Hut is the place to go. And yes, that woman working the grill behind the counter is in fact Lolly herself. read more

Old timey goodness... This is one of those places where it is almost a guilty pleasure to go and have something to eat. A *solid* good breakfast place. Lolly's is a no frills country diner in an increasingly less countrified world - it was refreshing to see the place loaded with locals shoveling plates of eggs, pancakes and bacon in their pie holes and washing it down with very good coffee. We actually tripped across Lolly's sort of as an aside - we were heading out to the vineyards early on a Sunday - and well, it was apparently too early and most places were closed. We did a quick Yelp search and found Lolly's so we motored over and hit it up. When you walk in, you immediately notice that the place is frozen in time - call it somewhere early 60's. The counter area is about 2.5 feet in front of the open griddle area and you can amuse yourself watching the super busy cook toiling away on the grill making heaps of home fried potatoes, pancakes, eggs and the like. We hit the counter as all the seats were taken - and got busy on some hot and tasty coffee. The people working there are all friendly and happy to see you. The menu is pretty basic - pancakes, egg combos and omelettes in your usual configurations - essentially something for everyone. Prices were cheap- I know a Sunday diner outing in my area for two people can set you back $25 or more but we both ate like champs for $15. Nice. The decor is old - there are Nascar items and old kitchen items on the walls - the tables and chairs are from another era but don't let that stop you from eating here- they turn out good food at decent prices. Please note: Cash only at this small establishment. Parking on the side. read more

Roadside style Breakfast place. Crowded for a divy atmosphere. Staff is super efficient and hustles to keep the crowd happy. Trying to get a spot opted for counter service. Think basics, eggs, pancakes etc.. Blueberry pancakes are a favorite. . No there is not real maple syrup... maple flavored corn syrup. Lol. For what it is, its good at it. I think men would like this place more than women. Perhaps farmers and truck drivers. And me. There's something about a place where you are lucky to get an old stool or chair in. read more

Hole-in-wall breakfast spot. Good, quick food. Limited menu/ingredients. Quick decent breakfast. Would return for a quick bite!

This is a really local diner. Cash only, open only until about 2 o'clock. Just 2 ladies working, one cooking and one taking orders- both were super ncie, makes you feel like getting breakfast at your neighbors house. Food is all reasonably priced for diner food. We sat at the bar and i was also super impressed by how clean it was (it didnt have that oily residue that some other diner counters do) We had: - coffee: surprisingly good quality, definitely better than what I would expect in a diner - western omlette: omlette itself was pretty standard, didn't have cheese which I was kind of bummed about (I thought that was standard) but the home fries were outstanding. I think they were the best thing we ate there - blueberry pancakes: pancake part was good but pretty standard, the blueberries were deliciously plump and fresh (not surprising since we were out in farm country), they were pretty generous with them too - bacon: yum yum! Nice solid strips and cooked to the perfect crispness read more

A little surprised by all the positive reviews but to each his own. Our experience was not good in fact unpleasant to say the least. It is very very small, seems like just a couple of hundred square feet and tables are on top of each other. We ate here on a Saturday morning and there were about six people total in the room. Service was very slow, food was below average and flies were swarming. Apparently the flies see something positive about this place. The place has a dirty feel to it. Lastly another "Cash Only" restaurant. One visit was enough to cure me if any desire to go back read more

Today was my first visit to Lolly's Hut for breakfast and I will never go back again. As soon as you walk in everything felt unclean and greasy, but I still ordered a simple meal, scrambled eggs , kielbasa with potatoes. The potion was small, the eggs were slightly undercooked and wet in the center and the potatoes were just crispy pieces so overcooked that I couldn't stick my fork into them and the salt level was through the roof. There are many other places local with better food, stay away from this place. read more

Your old classic diner. ATMOSPHERE: Decor is fairly old and outdated, but it's clean. Staff is friendly and quick. It's a CASH ONLY place, so remember to bring money. FOOD: Everything is cooked on the flat top and done immediately after you ordered. Simple classic diner dishes so nothing special or unique, but it's good home cooking food. (Cause sometimes even simple can be done badly) read more

Very good food and location. I had a really good burger with fresh made potato salad and a coke. Yup I did not order fries. You can judge a good diner or luncheonette by their salads. This was a very nice lunchonette but I prefer Jimmy's eats and Mastic Beach better. I am definitely coming back again but will try the breakfast food and update my review accordingly. read more

Really cute breakfast spot. Seems like it's been around for a while. We both ordered the plantation breakfast and it was all delicious- pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and homefries. I used to love going to this place, even bought a tee shirt. Not any more. There is an older nasty waitress. The place will be packed, and she walks around in slow motion. Spent and hour to get eggs last time, never came out to bring a coffee refill. Today I went in there to have lunch and sat at a table. She tells me I have to move to the bar to eat, even though there were plenty of tables open. Rediculous...I walked out read more

I walked in here because I generally love to try mom and pop joints. I took a seat at the lunch counter and immediately noticed how EVERY single person in the restaurant knew each others names. You can tell that the customers that dine here have been coming here for DECADES, and I find that really charming. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, which came out quickly. You can tell that the staff works hard. Also, I think it was the owner's birthday when I was working there, so happy birthday to her! You're coming here for the warm and friendly experience. I felt like my own mom was taking care of me. read more

Flashback Riverhead 1955! When this place opened, Riverhead was rural. My parents might have eaten here when they built our house in East Quogue. Basic hearty breakfast food. Good portions and very tastes! It is a small diner from the past being swallowed up by big box stores. read more

Dear Lolly, The coziness and comfort of your hut was just what we needed on a snowy day on the drive to the Hampton's. Roadside diner, home cookin' meal done right by Lolly herself. Pancakes, yes. Cheese omelet, homefries, with a side of pancakes, yes. Chocolate milkshake with the leftover in a tin on the side, yes. Cash only. But the above will cost you less than twenty, so just leave that twenty plus those few random ones you have bc service is deserving of it. read more

Oh my. I have never disagreed with previous ratings as I do with this place. To sum up our experience: dirty, lackluster service, extremely long wait for food 30+ minutes for eggs and we got the wrong order, but just ate it to get the hell out of this place. Oh, and at 11:45 you still could only get breakfast, nothing from their lunch menu. I typically like to support local joints, but Panera would have been a much better option here. read more

TIP - CASH ONLY! It's basically a dive bar turned into a restaurant. There is 1 person cooking, 1 person serving and 1 dishwasher. And I'm pretty sure they are all related. The tables will be sticky, the service will not be the fastest, and you will be sitting next to a table of overweight truck drivers....basically my mothers NIGHTMARE...but the breakfast is dirt cheap, coffee is fresh and the food is good! *Also - If that 1 server who works there is reading this - please invest in a tray. Your life will be so much easier. I was a server for YEARS and you can fit like 10 coffees on that bad boy, no need to run back and forth. Just some friendly advice. read more

We wanted to like it; our preference is to give business to Mom & Pop restaurants as opposed to chains. But this is another restaurant that tries to "nickel and dime" you with ridiculous policies. For example, they charged for a refill on iced tea. Two small glasses (maybe 8 oz. each?) ended up costing $5. It's already priced high at $2.50 for a glass! It probably costs them $0.10. If restaurants are going to gouge customers that way, I think they have an ethical duty to disclose on the menu that they don't offer refills on beverages. The flounder sandwiches were okay. Unbeknownst to us, there was an upcharge for the tiny piece of lettuce and the meager slice of tomato. The waitress offered them; she just didn't bother to explain that it would add 10% to the cost of the sandwich. Fries and onion rings are extra. Surprised? I will not go back. The food is average. The policies are awful. read more

Awesome dive diner - I got the plantation breakfast: 3 eggs sausage bacon home fires pancakes toast Everything was cooked perfectly and came out hot and fast. I sat at the counter and watched as it all came together at the same time. Friendly service and reasonably priced (cash only though). I enjoyed every single bite. This place is so adorable! Super down home and authentic--with tons of regulars who seem to know each other really well. The omelette with ham and cheese was great, and my husband loved his egg sandwich. The service was really good, and everyone seemed to want to talk and get to know everyone else.
