Had a fantastic steak salad for lunch. Just what I was looking for. Service was good and the food was great. Steak was cooked perfectly

Salad was old, somewhat brown. Covered with at least 3/4 cup of dressing. Wife's sides didn't show up, had to ask for them twice. Asked to see the manager twice- she kept looking over but wouldn't come to the table. The steak was pretty good, but the experience left lots of room for improvement. read more

I took my husband here for his Birthday for the primrib special, they were out at 6pm. Then when we received our dinners the steaks were overcooked and the ribs were dry. The service was good and so were the rolls. read more

Went here tonight and the steak was not cooked as requested. Waitress never checked back for more drinks or anything else we might need. Ordered desert to go before we finished eating and had to wait over 30 minutes after we finished for them to be ready. Manager offered extra ice cream as a consolation prize and never apologized. We stopped in after picking my friend up at the airport. I should have read the reviews before hand as we experienced the SAME ISSUES on undercooked steaks! I should have known it was going to happen as the server asked us to cut into our steak while she waited. Both were supposed to be medium and they came out blue rare!! Now we have cut into them so all the juices exit the meat and upon re-cooking the steaks became dry. During our meal I noticed the table next to us had sent back their steaks as well due to under cooking! Does a national chain not have the ability to properly cook a steak??? One star because zero isn't an option. My Husband and I ate here on my only night off this week to try and enjoy a nice dinner. Got seated right away because we choose a booth in the bar rather than waiting twenty minutes for the restaurant section. Every booth was dirty, hadn't been bussed. Had to wait for one of the hostesses which was just standing there chatting when we walked in to clear our table off. Waited about 10-15 minutes to even be acknowledged by the bartender who also ended up being our waitress. We ordered an appetizer platter, Long Island & a watermelon margarita. Tasted like pure gasoline! Couldn't even drink my margarita! The appetizer platter was pretty good. Then we ordered our food. We both got the fried cheese bacon burgers with fries which DOES NOT say anything about having tomatoes, onion, pickle, or lettuce. It's a burger with supposedly hot melted cheese and bacon with thousand island dressing. You guessed it, it came out about 25-30 minutes later hard as a rock, not even able to chew them, covered with the toppings above, no thousand island, one slice of limp greasy near raw bacon on the BACON BURGER! At this point we just paid our $60 bill and left - no follow up, how is everything, nothing! Boxed up the entire meal for our dog but decided she deserved better! We went as a family and we didn't receive our drinks until after the appetizer came and also our meals. Even then had to ask for them. We never received our salads so when we said so she replied I can make them to go. We said no because they wont stay good. So my husband was missing 1/3 of his meal. The waitress brings the bill and we charged for salad we didn't get. She adjusts bill and leaves. While we are paying bill i notice lipstick on my husband's glass. He doesn't wear lipstick and has drank almost 1/3 of his beer. We tried to get a manager without causing a scene and couldn't get anyone to help us. The sausage and the bread basket was the only items I enjoyed. The spareribs were so dry I would have needed 5 glasses of water, so I left it on the plate and what was up with the brisket? it tasted like Arby's roast beef! read more

After waiting almost an hour for the food my wife and I ordered; it not only showed up wrong, it was cold as well. I'd have complained but having not seen our waitress only once, I decided it wasn't worth the effort. We weren't the only ones disappointed judging from the reactions from other tables. We came in to celebrate my son's birthday with a fairly large group of 20. First off I'm very happy they were able to accommodate us. It's been hard trying to find places that can fit our entire immediate family. The servers were awesome. They were attentive and fast. They made sure we had everything we needed stayed up on drink refills and kept the rolls coming they were super sweet and patient with us. The food was good. The steaks could use a little more seasoning but we were all happy when leaving. Thank you so much to the managers and all the staff and especially our servers! Thanks ladies !! I should have known after the second call this evening's dining experience was going to be bad. I called to do call ahead seating around 2 this afternoon and was told to call back an hour before we would be there to set up for 12 people. I called back an hour prior and was told that they don't take call ahead seating. My wife and I arrived half an hour before everyone else and was told it would be half an hour to 45 minutes. An hour later we finally get paged. We ordered our drinks and after they arrived she took our order. An hour goes by and no food. The waitress tells us that our food was now being plated. Half an hour later, NO FOOD. the manager comes out and explains there was some confusion and that our food was being plated then. Our son and daughter-in-law had plans and asked to have their portion removed from the bill. The manager says that she would go to the kitchen and bring their plates out if they would stay. They agreed to stay if the food would come right out. 10 minutes later she comes back with their plates. They left after waiting for 5 minutes. An additional 15 minutes and the rest of us still have NO FOOD to eat. We decide to leave and suddenly our food starts to come out. I had the Logan and shrimp. Both were cold as was everyone else's entrees. The manager did not come out and check how we were doing but gave us a small discount on the bill. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Logan's in Plainfield Indiana, it will be a very long time before you see me again, if ever. Waitress was excellent. Kitchen staff, not so much. read more

I typically have a personal policy not to review chain locations on Yelp (unless they are hotels), but I'm breaking my own rules for this one. We try our best to eat at local, non-chain restaurants, but Plainfield's Logan's WAS one of the chains we would cave for once in awhile...but no more. When we first moved to the Plainfield-area around 4.5 years ago, Logan's would be one of our default restaurants if any of our favorite non-chain regulars didn't sound good & I wasn't in the mood to cook. In theory, you "can't go wrong" with a steak, salad & potato. Actually, at Plainfield's Logan's you CAN apparently go horribly, horribly wrong... Over the past 2 years, we have noticed a Very Consistent downward slide in customer service, staff management, food quality, & food preparation. It's common not to be able to get a true Rare or Med Rare steak at a chain restaurant, I understand that. But in our experience at our last visit, if you order a steak Rare, and it comes to your table Well Done (like well done enough that you could use it as a charcoal briq in the grill)...the kitchen will THEN send out the refire as a sarcastically "blue" steak...that didn't even have grill marks on it, it was so rare/raw (think a light gray color on the outside). My favorite, in this particular example, is that we promptly asked for the manager (since our total wait-time was now at almost 1.5 hours for food)...and She was RIDICULOUSLY rude & unapologetic for the experience. If you do find yourself HAVING to go to Logan's in Plainfield. Do not sit in the bar area. Sure, it will be a shorter wait time for a table...but the bar area is consistently VERY understaffed, where the bartenders also serve as the waiters for the numerous tables surrounding the sizeable bar. There is No Way for 1-2 individuals to properly service this large of an area & pour/mix drinks for the entire restaurant... Also, if you HAVE to eat here...there is a delightful husband/wife serving duo who work here some nights that are wonderful servers. I can't remember their names right now (will revise the review if it comes to me), but while the food will most likely still suck, you will at least get pleasant, friendly, attentive service, prompt drink refills. Really, they should fire whoever the actual managers are for this restaurant & put this duo in charge. They know how customers should be treated...we have had success being seated in their areas by saying "I can't remember their names, but are the husband/wife duo working tonight? If so, can we be seated in one of their sections?" read more

I went to Logan's for the first time ever and really enjoyed. I had heard about it from a friend and was told that they have a really good atmosphere and amazing steak. When I arrived at Logan's I first noticed how clean and nice the outside of the building looked and it seemed the place was well kept. However, the inside was not very clean at all. The tables weren't wiped off or bussed, the floor was covered in peanut shells (which is a common thing in these types of restaurants I found out), and the bathrooms weren't very clean either. However, everything else was to perfection. We were greeted by a hostess who held the door for us and was very friendly. She took us to our tables and the waitress arrived shortly after. She was very attentive, happy, and answered all of the questions we had about the menu. She also continued to check on us often and continued to bring us out refills. The service was overall excellent and I definitely enjoyed the family-friendly atmosphere. The food was the best part. I ordered a steak medium-rare and it was fantastic. It was cooked just how I asked and it tasted wonderful. The food was also out in a very timely manner and I was quite surprised given how busy they were. The rolls were also amazing, they brought out the rolls before the meal and they were hot and buttery and to die for. I would definitely recommend the steak and rolls to anyone. Overall, the service and food were impeccable and I do not have a single complaint in that regard. The food was some of the best food I have ever had and the service was great. The staff was so upbeat and happy to be there and they kept busy to make sure all of the customers were taken care of. I do wish the inside of the building was a little cleaner and maybe swept and bussed more, but overall I cannot complain and I would recommend this restaurant to anybody! read more

The parking lot was almost empty when we got there , we requested a booth. Large groups leaving the restaurant and we where starving with a 2.5 y/o in our car and still waiting. Now 30 minutes passed when the initial wait time was 10 to 15 minutes. So we decided to go in and find out why the delay. We step in and the place was almost like a ghost town. I told our greeter we waited for their text now for 30 minutes and her reply just amazed me, she said that our booth was not ready and that it hasn't been 30 minutes but 27 minutes! She talked to the busser and not at me. We left the restaurant with a very disappointing experience on how anyone can just be so indifferent to a fixable situation and have no delicacy to treat customers. I can only suggest to please have a friendly and organized person skill for the face of your restaurant. read more

We were in Plainfield for a music rehearsal, and wondering what to do for dinner. We were right next to Logan's and chose it because it was convenient and had more options than I burger place. I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but I have to say, it was a pretty darn good experience. Was it St Emo's? Of course not. But for a chain steakhouse, it was well above average. Our waitress was helpful and courteous, if a little harried, and the food? It was hot, tasty, and satisfying. My steak was delivered cooked exactly as I ordered it, and my wife's chicken was good, also. While it'll never be my first choice, I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again. read more

One ordered the Chicken Salad and loved it and I ordered the Mini Roadies. It was different being on one of the rolls they generally serve before you eat, but good. The chips that come with it are very salty. I would probably substitue a different side dish if I ordered that again. read more

This was my families first time at Logan's, the waiter was friendly and accommodating, the food was okay, there was a manager on duty who was unprofessional and very rude not only to my family but to her waiters and kitchen staff. I witnessed her yelling and being disrespectful in front of customers, when we tried to have a conversation about the issue at hand she was very unprofessional and addressed my teenage daughter instead of her parents that were standing right beside her. I was not pleased with the overall customer service and especially from a manager on duty. We will never return to Logan's. read more

Which came first -- Logan's or Texas Roadhouse? Regardless, the atmosphere and ambience are quite similar, but the food is astronomically different. WF and I had made a trip in to Muncie, down to Anderson, followed in to Indianapolis, and finally found ourselves starved in Plainfield, IN (finding an Old Navy that sells maternity clothes, or is still open for that matter, is next to IMPOSSIBLE in this state). Logan's is a steakhouse familiar to where we lived in KY, so we are no strangers. However, this was, by far, the best meal I've received from Logan's. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin, medium, with a side salad with ranch dressing, a baked potato with sour cream and butter, and a Mr. Pibb. Boring? Yes. But the food was absolutely perfect. The steak was cooked exactly how I'd ordered it, was insanely moist, and had just the right amount of "chew" to it. WF had a triple shrimp something, which included popcorn shrimp, breaded shrimp, and 2 shrimp skewers. He raved about the flavor of the shrimp, combined with the seasonings in the breading, and left both skewers on his plate, as he was beyond stuffed from the generous size portions. Our waitress was great and kept our drinks full. We dined on what seemed to be a fairly busy evening, but walked in and right to our table, with no wait. The food was prepared and brought to the table in a very timely fashion. After a long day of shopping until I was beyond starving, this meal most definitely hit the spot! read more

Confused I asked her why and she told me that this was the bar and I would need to leave if I didn't show her my ID. We've come to this restaurant once or twice before. We had good experiences beforehand. But this visit will make sure we never go back. Our server was nice and visited often. But the food was mediocre at best, you had to drown your fries and steak in A1 sauce to make them edible. And the table was very dirty, and our menus sticked to the table. When we complained about it to the service manager she talked down down to us like schoolchildren. We had to ask twice for her to even come to us, as she clearly tried to ignore us. Yesterday at noon, my wife , my daughter and I decided to have a steak in Plainfield, I usually go to TX Roadhouse in Avon but I decided to give Logan's a try , walked in very friendly staff put our orders my daughter and my wife ordered the 6 oz steak but I decided to pay the $2 extra and get the 8 oz, food arrived with reasonable time, I was surprised to see my steak (should be 8 oz) is smaller than the 6 oz then look at the plate looks like they did their best to save on everything , rice had some hard ones and my wife had the same problem, you can count the rice quantity of less than 5 spoons , seriously people rice is so cheap make the plate looks worth what the customer is paying , My steak was over cooked , vegetables didn't look inviting at all, I just paid and we all looked at each other and said not this place again for a long while. It wasn't a good dining experience, they need o work on the quality of their food , quantity and presentation . for sure it will be a long time before they see me again. read more
