This was my first time coming here and it was on a whim .... The door person checking ID's was nice but when asked a question about the hours he literally said "I have no idea, it's my first day". Thats neither here nor there. The bartenders were not very attentive or friendly but not outright rude, if that makes sense. The one thing I did notice were the odd looks I got from the customers that sat on the patio and in the bar near us. This is in no way a reflection of the business (the new doorman was black) but more so the area, I did not feel comfortable being 1 of 3 other black people at this establishment. Just something to point out as a black woman who looks for reviews like this when I'm going go somewhere new and want to check the temperature of the crowd. Aside from this all. I think this pub is one for fun and grub, if you're a lump on a log you'll be left alone, but if you want to have fun there's plenty people that will tell you let's get it on, the bartender was a star her personality was great the only reason i didn't give this place 5 stars honestly because i went to a few places first so I couldn't really let loose because it was getting a little late,and these were real drinks too many will have you feeling really good and the prices are fair, so i now have done my part if you're not scared of a nice, fun dive go to this place and keep under used smile alive. read more

The service was sparse, and not overly friendly, the space was nothing special-- our booth, the seats were worn so badly, the foam had popped out and made a natural barrier between me and my husband. We went to KT's this evening for dinner. After seating ourselves we sat in our booth for 5-10 minutes before the waitress came to our table. Drinks ordered. The music playing was obnoxious. Every other word in the music was the "F" word. After another 10 minute wait and the waitress not coming back to take our food order we left. Terrible service when the location was not busy at all. We have come to KT's a few times now. Each time the service was never good but tolerable. This was our last visit. Go anywhere else. The food here was decent on past visits. But the service is always terrible. Not worth the hassle. read more

Yeah, this wasn't it. I came here on my own on a Friday night looking for beer and food. I grabbed a seat at the bar and saw that the beer options were quite limited. I got quick service and ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with pork rinds. The tenderloin was good, but the sandwich was dry. Too much bun and no mayo. Also, wouldn't some dipping sauce go well with the pork rinds? The decor was basic and the DJ was struggling. I am actually in Plainfield a few times a year, but I won't be back here. read more

Bartenders were very nice and attentive, they had to cut me off, which is a good thing, you know you're getting good drinks. Plenty of room and they have a couple of pool tables. KTs is a place that I usually go to cap off a night out. Food is super greasy, but sometimes that's what the body needs after a night out! The service really is hit or miss here, I've had great service here with great conversations with the bartenders, and other nights I feel like I couldn't even get anyone to make me a drink or cash me out even if I had a marching band behind me. They have 3 pool tables here and dart games if you'd rather do something while drinking. Drinks are made with a good amount of liquor, and theyre cheap.. The place does smell old and smokey on the inside, but would it be a true hole in the wall bar if it didn't smell like this? This is a place I visit every once in awhile. This place is a dump. The other reviewers have pretty much covered the bases. Loud music on a low quality sound system? Check. Surly, inattentive staff even when there are few customers? Hells yeah! 20 minutes to microwave a pretzel? They're on it! The beer is incredibly cheap and that's about all that is going for this place. If you want to maximize your chances of witnessing and/or participating in a drunken redneck bar brawl, come on down! It's their specialty. read more

First, it was 5pm and so it wasn't late during prime drinkin' hours. The music was so LOUD, did you hear that, LOUD! I mean it hurt my ears. It shouldn't be that intense during after work dinner time. The waitress couldn't even hear our order fully, we had to repeat it several times. So the ambiance sucked royally! I wanted to leave but we ordered so figured we'd stick it out. We both ordered a breaded pork tenderloin with fries. It was really good! It is large and has a nice flakey bread batter. You have to pay extra for fries but man are they worth it! They are krinkle cut and have a tasty seasoning. Loved them! Service was good. We received refills and food came out hot and in a decent time frame. Overall the place has good bar food but needs to work on the early evening ambiance. Here is my pro and con list of my recent experience for everyone. pros: did not have to spend a lot of money on drinks everything was reasonably priced people I saw there were friendly not far from me so that is always great cons: I agree with other people they play the music so loud I could not talk to the person next to me if I am going to come dressed up I would hope management would make the other people dress up a little please no house slippers or pjs on lol I read most reviews here and most are pretty accurate. I came her on a Tuesday at noon for lunch. There were 3 men playing pool, and a man and women sitting at the bar. I can't see how they stay in business. As for the food my chicken sandwich was very good but the fries tasted like they were deep fried in old oil. I will come back to try other food. read more

This place was pretty good for a hole in the wall bar. Service was SHITTY!! The waitress at the bar made use wait forever to take our order and seemed bugged by every single person in that place that night. Ordered a taco salad and they forgot the meat!?!??? Like how does that happen?? Anywho the pool tables were .25 cents cheaper than most places. Cheap ass beer buckets. No smoking inside. Really great music. It was a thursday night. Had to be the worse dj I have ever seen. His system crashed 2 times and then singers got skipped everytime during the reboot. Then dj Rob Kincaid sang a song both times, skipping me, then another person. he had no repore with the crowd. He kept playing mass ave type techno. Everyone was ignoring him and his feeble announcements. The place was cleared by 11pm. Also I cannot sing karoake with a mic that has some gay ass sequin sleave on it. looked like a sparkly condom. We have been looking for a bar to feel comfortable in to just order drinks, listen to music and watch sports. A few weeks ago we decided to try KT"S and we love it. After just a couple visits the bartenders know us and what we drink and they are super attentive and friendly. Love the music and the DJ and the food as well. I was in town for a few weeks and found this local pub. The food is great! I suggest the "trash can" burger and the hand cut tenderloin. Drink specials every night for beer and liquor drinkers. One of my favorite bars in Indiana. I'm bias, as I used to work here. The big plus for me is that it is smoke free. There are multiple TVs so you can watch sports. Their drink selection has gotten better over the years, especially on draft. I believe they even have Yuengling. The food is pretty good; some of my favorites are their wings, chicken club pizza, nachos, and quisadilla. There are 4 pool tables and 3 dart boards. Great bar with great bartenders. My biggest complaint is they have the absolute worst DJ is the Indianapolis area. Literally, 12 customers and the music is so loud the bartender can't even hear the customers orders. He also sings over every song he plays. I go here semi regularly, at dinner hours, and after dinner hours. If I wanted to go some place after work and be able to lay back and relax without loud music, this might not be the place. But I dont come for that. I havent had the food here. The atmosphere is not too bad. It's a bit dark, as a lot of pubs are. The DJ Rob Kincaid always does a good job. I've been a fan of his DJ'ing for 10 years and he has come a long way. He's a fantastic karaoke DJ who also likes to entertain. And to say he has no RAPPORT (spelled correctly) with the crowd is completely false. Someone who writes the majority of their review complaining about just the DJ obviously has some personal issue with him.. grow up and stop trying to paint a bad picture of a very sweet man. Nope. When I first walked in here I thought "Mmmm I don't think I'm going to like it here". I was correct. The atmosphere is very dark and plain. The tables and chairs are a slight step up from a folding table and chairs. There are some TV's and darts, with a bar in the middle. They hardly have any draft beers, so I went with my usual vodka soda with lemon. I don't know what they did to it, but it was NASTY. I couldn't even drink it. Luckily it was only $2.50. We stayed for maybe 45 minutes and had to get out. Apparently, from what I have been told, this place has had a few different names over time. I guess they have never done that well. Yuck. read more

I'm not angry, so much, as I'm disappointed. The server/bartender-to-customer ratio was extremely low....the place was busy. In trying to be objective, I will say that when I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman employee who was very customer-service-oriented; saying all the right things and being attentive and friendly. After that, I was handed off to one of the ladies, who was still friendly, but not attentive. I only ordered appetizers (simple, fried food, actually) and drinks, opting to order entrees, later. After waiting more than 20 minutes for my appetizer and not being checked on, to see if I needed anything, or keep me informed for the delay, or refilling my drinks, I decided I had given enough of my time to this place. During my stay, I was able to people-watch and it seems that if you want refills, you need to go up to the bar and seek them out, yourself, even if you're seated at one of the tables, where there would traditionally be service. While watching, I noticed that a table that had been seated long before me, got their food before me, as well (which would be expected), but now I wonder how long they had actually been waiting, as compared to me. When I walked up to the bar and said that I'm only interested in paying for my drinks - I'm leaving - my server said that my food should be coming up right away. She wasn't aware that I could see the kitchen window from my seat and had seen my food on the pass-through, sitting under heat lamps (which weren't on), for several minutes. I don't know where the process collapsed....I don't know if my server was as lackadaisical in placing my order with the kitchen as she was in following up with my experience or service....I don't know if the kitchen is understaffed..or under trained..under-motivated. I just don't know. I will say that the prices are very affordable. If the people skills could be more positively developed, this place could really be something....even if it is a dump. I didn't come to critique the decor, I came to eat, drink, be merry, and relax. I couldn't care less what it looked like, as long as it's clean.....and for the most part, it did look THAT. read more
