Very good coffee for the coffee connoisseur. The pastry had flies on it and the staff didn't seem to care when we asked about it.

I go to various McDonald's in Oceanside California and the one I was at today was actually one of the first McDonald's built in San Diego county in Oceanside on Mission and Cannon Drive. Today I tried Ethiopian Betibiroti Sidama in espresso form. It was a rejuvenating aromatic blend of citrus and rooted earthy chocolate, with a touch of sweetness. The description reads juicy but I find plump or ripe to be more fitting. Lots of chocolate after notes. I recommend! But I'll be trying another in the future. read more

We are visiting Encinitas and keep telling ourselves that we should try somewhere else for breakfast but we keep heading back to Lofty. The coffees are delicious (try the Turkish Latte), as are the pastry, but our favorite is the acai bowl. Not only is it beautiful (see below) but also so very tasty. We substitute almond butter for the peanut butter but both are very good, as is the matcha vegan donut - so good! Wait staff is friendly and helpful. We love this place. read more

Great dude baristas on top of his game! This place for sure is a go to spot. Tells you all about the California lifestyle at the beach. I felt as if I were on a vacation. I actually live here locally. Had a Curtado with whole milk. The chia pudding and the berries were super fresh. The power ball date crunch rolls were fire. No one has it down like these guys. Lofty is a legit coffee joint, no doubt about it. This place has a near perfect location situated off of the 101 in Encinitas and conveniently located near Moonlight beach. The menu here is absolutely stunning and consists of some very solid coffee and tea offerings along with some salads, pastries and sandwiches. My wife and I have passed by this place numerous times. She had heard nothing but good stuff about it. We had always seen a line out the door when we passed, so one day after yoga, we decided to check it out. The location isn't very big, but very convenient and high visibility! They post a food and drink menu on the door, on the wall above the baristas and along the front counter. You have ample time to view and decide. While there aren't a lot of choices on the menu, there are a few that you may need some clarification on. One of the gals behind the counter sings pretty much all the time. Great voice. She even sang "Bless you" when a customer sneezed. Adds to the ambiance! The concept of this place is pretty cool. Sustainable and organic. As we try to be healthier these days, my wife and I are constantly seeking ways to improve what goes into our bodies. This was a great way to keep up with that trend. Lofty has one of my favorite hot vanilla lattes in town, and it's just such a cool spot! A huge outdoor patio area, and a beautiful space indoors where you order, the vibe is definitely on point. It had a line out the door. But I had time to kill so I stuck it out. Glad that I did. I was served my very first foo foo coffee ever. I ordered my usual a latte and got a cute little design on it (foo foo) It was delicious and just the foo foo design maybe made it taste better. I also decided to try the simple eggs and toast breakfast. The eggs are poached but actually seem to resemble more of an over easy poach. The toast is made from organic artisan bread and it is very buttery. I chose just the toast and eggs but you can order from many organic sides such as spinach, arugula, avocados, chicken apple sausage etc. I think the sausage may be the only meat item on the menu. My husband was in love. Lofty Coffee is appropriately named as it resides in the Encinitas Lofts businesses. The employees all seem to be so happy to be there that it's contagious almost. You can definitely tell that the ingredients used here are high quality and organic. If you're used to the fake Starbucks junk, you probably won't like this. I ordered mine extra sweet & extra creamy and it's perfect. The chocolate chip cookies are really salty but good otherwise. I got an iced Aztec mocha and it was DELISH. My husband got a hot espresso drink and it was served Luke warm which was kind of weird? I cannot believe I took so long to discover this wonderful place! Last Sunday morning I was searching for parking to go to the Encinitas farmer's market and could not find any, and I was stressing out that two girlfriends were also trying the same. After driving several blocks around the markets area, decided to go back to the 'other side' (West, towards the water - I needed to learn W=W when moved here to get orientation) and since I was the first to find parking, I keep walking to see some spot to meet and...voila...surprise never seen or noticed before: a very modern looking, with more a Downtown SD than Encinitas feel to it coffee shop! In a corner, with tables outside! And happy looking people in spring clothes showing some style! I needed to go there no matter if my friends were more into taking pics of the organic tomatoes at that point. So Lofty Coffee did not disappoint us at all. Loved the vibe, the guys working there, especially the guy who was our server so mellow and sweet and hippie-chic allure. I wanted to 'adopt' him right there;). Then the place so quaint, and modern and airy and comfortable. My cappuccino was awesome and my apple tart not so. So that is the reason I am not giving 5 stars. The cafe offers yogurt and granola, french toast (!), poached eggs, gorgeous salads, panini and assorted pastries. Clean eating, folks. But you might find that it is hard to get a table inside. There are just a few. But there tends to be able seating outside. Very comfortable and cozy, but right up against the highway. I had no problem finding parking on a Friday morning about 9a.m. As far as seating, there are 5 tables inside that seat 2-4 people each and then a bar area that seats 3 plus a table by the window that seats 3. Plenty of outside seating though. Their coffee bean has such a unique taste and I don't think I have ever been served a bad coffee--their baristas are always on point! The London Fog on Ice is one of my favorite tea drinks they make. It used to be seasonal but I think they might have it all year round now. Their baked goods are so good. The gluten free bread, blueberry muffins, banana muffins and cookies are delicious. They do not even taste gluten free which is always a delight. They have many other baked goods with all the gluten that my husband loves. I really love how they have shifted during this crazy pandemic and now have a little market where you can get a full loaf of their bread, a large carafe of their almond milk and more. Its safe to say I am ADDICTED to the "moztec" (1/2 mocha and 1/2 aztec) Its good hot or iced - with regular milk, or their homemade almond milk! A hip and trendy coffee house in Encinitas! Its set-up is standard among craft coffee roasters, but definitely on par with others in the space. They have a nice selection of specialty lattes which shows off the creativity of the staff and their coffee offerings! My friend tried the turtle latte (not on the menu, but a recommendation from the staff) and loved it! It's pretty small inside and there's not a ton of seating, but the large outdoor patio probably makes up for that - it was raining when we went, so it was packed inside! They have a small selection of bakery items that looked yummy (organic and gluten free, when possible!), and some coffee beans and other merchandise to sell. read more

Some of the best baked goods and bread I've ever had! My family ordered practically one of everything on the menu and it didn't last a day in our house. My absolute favorites were the salted chip cookies, the brioche cinnamon rolls, the sourdough load, and their rye flax seed loaf! Another amazing pastry we had was the matcha pistachio donut and it by far beats the competition. Not only is the quality of their goods top notch, but they're also all made every morning in house by some of the nicest employees I've met. Nick M. helped us out today and he was extremely kind and helpful! On top of the quality bakery and welcoming workers, Lofty Coffee made a statement followed by action in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement by donating 10% of all sales on Juneteenth to two different organizations + individual team member donations. They are also environmentally conscious and source local grown organic sustainable products. What more can you ask for when you find a local coffee shop that supports equal rights, backs their words by real action, is eco-friendly, and has amazing baked goods/ great employees! read more
