I had to get the lock changed on the cluster mailbox for my condo. Somebody broke into it and broke the lock, and we hadn't had a lot of luck going the self-install route in the past (really, it's probably one of the reasons the mailbox was broken into in the first place; after the old latch snapped, never found one that fit quite right, sometimes leaving a gap after the mail was delivered for someone to use to pry it open). The post office here used to install new locks, but the person who did that retired and they don't have anybody on staff to do it any more, so they recommended Steve with Locking Mailbox Installers. We were able to call him and send him some photos of the mailbox so he had some information about what we needed, and he was able to find time to stop by not too many days after. We had such an amazing experience working with Christian and Steve! We had our condo community mailbox broken into on a Saturday so I submitted a request online to have it either repaired or replaced- Christian reached out the following business day and was able to FaceTime me to determine that we could actually get the door in working order ourselves by adjusting one of the arms (with permission from the mail carrier of course). Once we fixed the door, they were able to give us a quote to have the mailbox moved to another concrete pad closer to the building structures which will hopefully prevent further break-ins. They even coordinated with the post office to get the necessary approvals required to move the mailbox. Their prices can't be beat and moving the mailbox itself was super fast and efficient. The worksite was left a mess including a pile of cement in our grass. Steve did not return phone messages. After finally getting a hold of him he said he'd come clean it up but it's been 2 weeks and it's still a mess. Originally we were told the entire installation takes 3 weeks. A hole was dug and and cement poured, the old mailbox cut down and left on the side for 3 weeks without a new mailbox. It was very messy and an eye sore to have this left like this for 3 weeks. Once the new mailbox was installed we were told new information, that it's an additional 3-6 weeks for USPS to come install locks. We were pleasantly surprised USPS installed within 1 week. This work does NOT include removal of the old mailbox nor does it include removal of displaced dirt. It would have been worth it to pay extra for an installer who includes removal and cleanup. read more

Steve and Christian did a GREAT job for my Development in north Redmond to replace an 8-unit mailbox that had been knocked over by a hit and run driver. The affected residents were very concerned because until the box was replaced, they would need to drive all the way across Redmond and wait up to 30 minutes to get their mail every day. Steve looked up our development online, found the original mailbox, and placed the order the same day. If he had it in inventory, it would have been maybe 3 days until install. After having our local cluster mailbox broken into I looked into getting a new more secure one. I was very happy with this installer. The tricky part was working with the local post office and coordinating with neighbors. Process for getting a new cluster mailbox 1) Talk to your local mail delivery person to determine which houses share your mailbox. 2) Talk to your local post office to get a list of legit installers that they have worked with in the past. 3) Google the installers to see if they have good/bad reviews or complaints from the Better Business Bureau. 4) Send out emails requesting bids. Boxes usually come in 8, 12, 13 or 16 compartment units. 6) Talk to each house to see if they are willing to chip in for a new mailbox and show them the choices. If a new 12 compartment box cost $1500 and 10 houses share the box then each house will have to contribute $150. 7) In our case the installer wanted at least 50% down payment. I sent a letter to the installer letting them know what unit we wanted with enough checks to cover 50%. 8) Within two weeks the unit was installed. The balance was paid once installation was complete. The installer had someone from the local post office meet us after installation to change the master lock for them. All the compartment keys were given to the neighborhood focal for distribution. 9) Taped a note on the box so that your normal USPS delivery person can coordinate with the neighborhood focal to determine which cluster box compartment maps to which house number. 10) Neighborhood focal hands out keys and collects any remaining checks. If someone can't afford the entire amount accept a post dated check then cash on post date. read more
