Every year, our firm sends out holiday cards to clients. Rather than pick and choose from the…read moreplethora of expensive, generic corporate (lame) holiday cards available, my boss is privy on sending out custom designed cards bearing our brand. For the past couple years, I have been tasked with designing them in-house. Originally the plan was to print them in-house, but with a job of this magnitude and a looming deadline, I had to outsource the printing. So with a CD-R containing the .EPS files, I sought the services of George at Swifty Printing. I needed 1200 full color front and back cards, printed, trimmed and folded in half. George was accommodating in the fact that we would be supplying our own paper which was purchased at Paper Zone beforehand. Gave me a quote which was well under budget and told me to come back tomorrow for a press check. Awesome! Press check was perfect, the color was spot-on and looked amazing considering they came off a digital press. A couple of days later I came back to pick up the job: 1200 cards printed, trimmed, folded, shrink wrapped and bundled in one box. Stuffing them into envelopes on the other hand still needs to be done in house however. Thank God for interns! My dealings with George and Swifty Printing couldn't have been any better. However, I recently tried to order a product for my business and due to the specificity of the item needed per corporate rules, the signage needed to look a certain way. I asked for an edit and was sent the same image that I received the first time. MMP charges $80 for every round of edits after the first request, and I let them know that I appreciated their time but since the item had to have a specific look I was going to go through a different vendor. They wrote back saying that I wasted their time and never to order from them again. I was pretty surprised because I don't know of anyone that is going to pay for products that they Know are either not what they need, or in my case, unsuitable for use and lead to fines and fees from my company. I also don't know why I would add $80 over and over to my tab for rounds of edits, when they could simply attempt to get it right the first few times. I am taking their advice and will never use them again due to their absolute garbage attitude.

They patiently explained all of the options (such as finish, thicknesses and hanging options) and completed the work a day ahead of schedule. They were very careful with the poster and did a great job laminating it and adding grommets for hanging. I was charged their minimum project charge ($50) which I thought was fair for the size of the poster compared to hanging. This was a great experience with a friendly small business and would encourage others to get in touch.
