Note: this is not reviewing their shipping services. I had driven past Sip and Ship sites for years, Ballard now shuttered, and Greenwood remained open. However, their 2/25/26 IG post caught my attention with regards of their version of Cafe Besalu's ginger biscuit. Direct quote: "reimagined by our talented baker Emma in our little bakery corner. She's perfected the texture, warmth, and that signature ginger sparkle." Some background info: Cafe Besalu was a beloved pastry shop in Ballard from 2000 - 2017. When the original owner and his family moved to Spain, the shop was sold to Herkimer Coffee, which then later closed the site permanently in 2023. Their 3/2/26 IG post literally got me in my car..."Flaky. Buttery. Perfectly spiced with that subtle ginger warmth that makes you pause mid-bite. This isn't just a cookie. It's a little Ballard classic - now freshly baked, ready, and waiting for you." I was able to get a parking spot close to the shop, never been until that morning. I was literally floored that this indeed had shipping and retail areas, but also an actual cafe with onsite seating - cafe tables and a window facing counter. But oh my what stopped me in my tracks was seeing the pastry case. I haven't seen such a lovely display in awhile. It seems most places, product are stacked, messy display case trays full of crumbs and pastries askew. Clearly head baker, Emma, takes full pride with the variety of baked goods nicely curated. I was told that the ginger biscuits were just pulled from the oven an hour ago. I purchased two of them and also one each of the peanut butter cookie and ginger molasses cookie. Heavenly scents permeated my car as I drove back north. The ginger biscuit had a nice tender, moist crumb. The Homie savored this the same day and brought him back to his childhood. I ate mine the next day and it was superb. Perfect distribution of the candied ginger warmth and that notable bejeweled top texture. Delicious! The ginger molasses cookie had that perfect balance of crisp edges and moist chew. The sugar exterior literally sparkled when I photographed it while on a road trip stop. The peanut butter cookie was ginormous and was very delicate. It had broken into five pieces. It was relatively thin, had a sandy texture, and subtle peanut butter flavor. The Phinney Ridge - Greenwood - Ballard neighborhoods has quite a collection of indie cafes and bakeshops. I'll have to say that Sip & Ship in Greenwood provided that gotcha moment with their high quality, fresh baked goods. Note to self - they have shipping and notary services too. I moved and it was summer, so I had a friend wait till fall to have them pack and ship a case of wine to me. Well they reported the case as damaged. Provided no evidence they ever shipped the case and prove no documentation of anything. Initially claimed I never paid them to pack the wine and they shipped it as I packed it. How ever, they then changed to blaming my friend after I remind them of the phone calls and texts about packing and shipping. They also said Sip and ship does not ship wine... which was a lie as they list on their website that they are a licensed wine shipper in Washington state. After destroying over $1200 of wine, I think the lack of honesty and any form of customer service was worst part of the experience cse. I could have flown the wine free on Alaska and the round trip airfare would have only cost 50 more than what sip and ship charges. EPIC FAIL. Thanks for destroying 1/2 of My wine collection. Good thing we spoke this on the phone at least twice and the texts messages prior shipping. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have been going here since they opened. The service has always been great and the cards and gifts are unique and fun. But today I called to see if I could get an estimate for a fairly complicated set of packages being sent to 8 different addresses and Gerry blew me away with her kind, helpful service. She made what was already turning out to be a stressful and overwhelming project straightforward and easy. I love this local business and am so happy to support them! read more

Unfortunately had a poor experience (after a few good ones). Went in to get something copied and notarized. Ding #1: sorry our notary didn't show up this morning. Ding #2: Them: sorry we reduced the size of the thing you're copying to half the original size. Me: that's not what you said would happen. Them: yeah sorry, here's your bill for the wrong thing. Pretty bad experience unfortunately, being charged for something they did wrong (and obviously services as advertised on their phone not available). Still 2 stars because they're usually great and convenient but clearly an off day, just wish I wasn't charged for things they did wrong. read more

I've been using Sip and Ship for years for shipping needs because they're always willing to help me figure out a plan and go the extra mile when I run out of tape, printer ink, whatever. I was so glad to find out they also have notary services available. As usual, they were kind, fast, and affordable, and even printed my document so I didn't have to worry about having a printer. I had a lot of books to ship across the country. In talking to the buyer, he suggested I use Sip N Ship, and save myself the hassle of packing up the books. I told him they would charge more than the post office, but he said it was OK, he would cover it with his credit card. I bought a big, heavy-duty box from a moving company, and took it, my books, which were in four bags, to the Sip and ship on Greenwood. The woman at the counter did not want to talk to the buyer, she wanted me to get the credit card information from him. It tsurned out that there were about 80 pounds of books, and the USPS limit for Media Mail was 70 pounds, so they would have to split it into two boxes. The maximum charge at the Post Office for a big 70 pound box is $52. The price for a 40 pound box was $31. I left my big, heavy-duty box and books, and they promised to take care of everything. I got an email this morning from the buyer. He said, "They charged me $500 and they used the cheapest box you can imagine. I have no issue on the cost - it's the shit job they did, and the worst materials. The cardboard box was in pieces... but everything made it.. a few dents and such I have no issue with." Well, he may not have an issue with the cost, but I sure do! Plus, I was there for about 40 minutes. Very disorganized. It wasn't all that busy, either. going to the post office sucks. i've tried to grit through it, but especially since covid, it's just terrible. the employees are zombified and look like they want to die, the wait is eternal, the space is evocative of depressive episodes and i actively worry if i'm inside a room that will leave me with with sick building syndrome. it's bad. i recently moved to the neighborhood and had an international package to send, aka a task that i was putting off and putting off... my partner had been to sip and ship and said that they'd likely just know how to answer any questions (i didn't even have a box to ship my few items), so i just grabbed it, walked over, and wow. ok, the space is super cute, and they have lots of little trinkets (notebooks, fran's chocolate, cutesy gifts, jewelry) to add to your package, if you want. i forewent that, and had an amazingly pleasant experience. they had an envelope immediately ready that perfectly fit my items, and walked me through the international shipping questions seamlessly. it was all so easy and enjoyable. i almost couldn't believe it. and the coffee wasn't bad! latte was a little less perfect than what you'd find across the street at herkimer, but that's reasonable. super friendly staff in both regards. will i be back? you bet! thanks, gang! read more

That seems an awful like a bait and switch move to avoid genuinely addressing the concerns raised and instead make it an issue of timeliness on my part vs extraordinarily poor customer service and communication on your part. After being a customer for as long as we were, taking a little time to consider the overall experience is irrelevant. 2) We DID inform you of our concerns and experience when you failed to properly close our account, and you gave us the same boilerplate response as in your reply here. Both felt very insincere. Making pithy "unburdening" statements, to use your words, is probably the best way to underscore that insincerity. 3) You could've asked us why a long-tenured box holder decided to leave. It wasn't sudden notice on our part. But you passed on that opportunity and ignored even responding to my first email asking what we needed to do. My introduction to Sip and Ship at its Ballard location occurred in 2012 when I found myself in need of professional help to ship a rather large painting with both monetary and sentimental vallue to an East Coast address. Much to my relief, the staff at Sip and Ship was up to the challenge in preparing the art work for safe shipping and timely arrival. Based on that experience more than 10 years ago, I have continued to rely on Sip and Ship for a variety of shipping challenges and the occasional need for expiditing personal communications by email or fax or obtaining notary services including witnessing by staff members when needed. I have come to realize that Sip and Ship is much more than a business for shipping services but actually a hub for finding that special message card or perfect gift for almost every occassion as well as taking that much needed interruption to the daily grind by enjoying your preferred brew of coffee or a delicious homemade pastry at the coffee bar at the rear of the shop. Needed to get my I9 paperwork sent in for my new job. Very easy to do. They charge $45 for the notary to do I9 papers and then they can ship it to the office address right there. It was nice to not have to go home, find an envelope, and send it USPS. This way, they also offered a guarantee that if something happened (ie filled out wrong) they could do it again and expedite. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because a place that sells coffee should really have a public restroom! I couldn't continue with my errands and had to run home Bc I was about to burst lol! I have been going to Sip and Ship since I've lived in Seattle. I remember stumbling upon them during a busy holiday season- trying to get all the boxes checked and all the packages off in time. This was an oasis! It was warm and bright and inviting. There were lovely things to browse. The line to the front was short for that time of year. Compared to going to the post office this was heaven. I have been going back ever since, not just for holiday shipping, but for cards, gifts, coffee, amazing banana bread! Its just a lovely space to spend time and the staff is super helpful. They provide an incredible service to the neighborhood and I am very thankful to have them! read more

SipNShip is the only place in Seattle that ships wine. They have a monopoly and they know it and they have a shitty service. I sent my daughter 2 bottles of my Home made Wine which I PAID $80 for. They attempted to deliver it when she was at work and DID NOT LEAVE HERE A NOTE, email or text so she was not aware of this nor did she know where to pick it up. I asked her if she got the wine. She said it never came so I looked on the receipt and tracked it with the FedEx number.. it said delivery had been attempted and could be picked up at a Walgreens. She went there but the counter was closed even though the store was open on a Tuesday. She went. Back the next day and was told it had been returned. When I called SipNShip and explained this they said my options were to Re ship it for an additional $56 or come pick it up. read more

Greenwood Sip and Ship is a wonderful neighborhood establishment. Of course it is a place to meet any shipping needs but it is so much more. They coffee and pastries are amazing. The curation of wonderful gifts makes it a breeze to shop for birthdays, holidays, or just a little something to deliver as a "thinking of you" gift. I've also loved getting to know local women at their Women Business Owners Coffee and Discussion sessions. But probably my favorite thing about Sip and Ship is the amazing owners and staff. We've been using Sip and Ship, where we have a mailbox, for over five years, both for personal and business needs. Several things have always stood out for me with them. First, the service is top notch. The people that work at S&S are always very nice, very capable, and very responsive. It's clear that Diana, the owner, makes a point of carefully screening and training employees. Probably my only regret in this area is that one day you suddenly realize that someone you've gotten to know a little over the months has moved on, and that you weren't able to thank them for all their wonderful help. The second thing that stands out for me with Sip and Ship is that Diana is very good at running a business and, in particular, focusing on customer needs or interests. It's on display everywhere in her stores, including the quality of her employees and the wonderful taste in the products she sells (Sip and Ship is more than just a shipping and mailbox center). Sip and ship has been my neighborhood happy place. Especially in these times, a warm familiar face is so needed. I'm always reassured that my mail and packages will arrive to its destination safely. Diana, Steve, and their team work hard to ensure that reassurance. I remember walking up with my now almost 6-year-old to see their assortment of JellyCat stuffies and books. I now do this activity with my daughter who is one. Sip and Ship is my go-to for one of a kind gifts and cards for anyone. Today as we got our wills notarized, we remembered years ago when --tired with young children-- they packaged and mailed our holiday gifts. How I heard of this place: I needed to mail a UPS package nearly a year ago, in our new neighborhood. From the post office, I was directed to Sip & Ship as the place to go for such drop-offs. We returned...for coffee. Type of cuisine: Espresso beverages, non-caffeinated beverages, full-service cafe including grilled sandwiches, seasonal soup and quiche. Ambiance: A cozy, quaint, casual shop where one can stop by to mail a package, purchase greeting cards, or sit and have a cup of coffee with their breakfast sandwiches. What I ordered: For me, a 16-ounce iced raspberry mocha ($4.25 + $0.55 for syrup), and for my husband, a 20-ounce iced caramel latte. What I loved: Iced beverages on a warm Seattle day! Very disappointed ! First, the good part: I've been a customer of Sip and Ship on Greenwood Ave for more than 3 years. I didn't have any issues, on the contrary when there was a problem with some packages, the staff was helpful. BUT: I called the other day to cancel the service because I am moving. My renewal is coming up in July and I asked about a refund for the months I am not using this service. I've been told that they do not refund. When I asked why, they said that they will not rent the box that becomes available. I feel they take advantage and use my money. So, be aware. read more

Sip and Ship is a life saver! They take what's usually a frustrating, arduous process at the Post Office and instead make it simple and easy. And on top of that, their employees are always friendly and helpful! I recently started selling macrame on Etsy and I was totally stressed about shipping my pieces. I had so many questions... did I buy the right postage? Did I have the right box? The post office was zero help (not to mention the one down Greenwood Ave is always closed when I show up), in fact, they made the process more stressful, complicated, and expensive. Plus, they make you buy your own packing tape and do it yourself! Walking into Sip and Ship was like being wrapped in the embrace of a warm hug. First, the store has a warm and cozy vibe, AND you can get a coffee there. I'm always greeted with a smile and they're always happy to answer all my neurotic shipping questions. Then they take care of business and use their ninja shipping skills to package up my weirdly shaped macrame pieces like it ain't no thang. Great concept. Convenient and great place to hang while in between things to do. Stumbled upon this place randomly while waiting to check into our AirBnB. This place doubles and triples as a few things. They can help you with shipping (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc) your stuff out or renting you a mailbox. They also have supplies, greeting cards, and kitschy little nick knacks. The back of the shop also has a coffee bar and some snacks. The shop also has temporary parking out front, so you can stop, pickup, and go. We ordered a coffee and a cappuccino. The coffee was alright. A little dark and bitter. It was never too busy or too noisy so we sat around for a little bit. read more

You can't ask for much more from this unique business. Running errands like shipping packages and sending mail are among my least favorite things to do. Waiting in long line at UPS stores or FedEx locations is always so painful. But at Sip & Ship you get better, faster service, and if there's ever a wait, you can get a great cup of coffee, tea, or soda. They also have light bites, snacks, and the entire space is actually a little shop. Sending a gift? Ramp it up and shop here first. They have cute souvenirs, accessories like scarves, greeting cards, and even umbrellas. It's one of those stores where you almost pray for a line because it allows you time to wander and browse. Honestly, this place has been a complete lifesaver. Working at a small business trying to round up all the packages at different outgoing locations has been rough, especially when trying to limit the exposure to the outside world. I have all my labels printed at home and then it is super easy to just leave all my different carrier boxes on a table while maintaining social distancing. read more

We used Sip and Ship on a project for our mailing. We were given a price quote that was inaccurate and ran over our budget of $500. As a result, several pieces were not mailed, so we had to mail them ourselves. When I contacted the Mgr. she gave us an upended price quote that was nowhere near our budget. It was in fact 2x the standard postage rate that we normally used.. The was a very frustrating and ill-advised solution to our mailing needs.. read more

I live down on the lake, but come up to Greenwood often to grab coffee or some light shopping. I'd always taken note of Sip & Ship, mostly because I had never seen a store like it before (part post office, part coffee shop? Intriguing!). Frank & I finally stopped in on Saturday since we were in need of coffee and somewhere to FedEx ship. This definitely fit the ticket! There was a line to the door for shipping, so we ended up going elsewhere for coffee, but I'm so glad I went inside because man is this place cute! They have a huge selection of beautiful cards (from some of my favorite paper makers!) and cute gift items like candles, notebooks, & more that would be perfect to grab and send to someone you love right on the spot. As far as seating for coffee, they had a couple 2-top tables in the middle and a counter along the front window. Dog friendly and they ship everything (FedEx, UPS, etc.)! read more

TLDR: Reasons to not go here- 1) They will lose packages and not take responsibility 2) Charge a % more than what you would pay at a FedEx. The unabashed incompetence at Sip and Ship is a formula for disaster. I went here on a saturday to overnight ship a visa application via Fedex. The employee at the counter had me fill out a form after which he entered this information on the computer and printed a label out. They charge $49 for overnight Fedex which is $6 dollars more than what Fedex Kinkos charges for the same weight and speed of delivery. An hour later when I looked at the receipt to track my package I found that this employee had made numerous errors on the label. He had omitted part of the recipient's name, misspelled my name and worse of all entered incorrect recipient's address! All without confirming with me. No worries I thought, I'll just give them a ring and they can correct it. So I call them and the very same employee picked up and said he could help me but will call back in five minutes. Forty five minutes go by with no call. Meanwhile this package has already been picked up by Fedex with wrong information on it. I call them back and this time the owner answers. He is extremely curt and unapologetic about what has happened and relates a string of reasons why someone would enter the wrong address into their system (read excuses). But eventually he promises to correct the error and even confirms by phone later on. Two days later I receive an update email from Sip & Ship's mail server telling me the package has been delivered to the wrong address. Replay the entire above episode all over again!! Sending an overnight Fedex should not be such a stressful experience and it has never been until I walked into this store. SS employees are not trained to handle proper shipping procedures and the attitude of the owner tells me that nothing will improve. UPDATE on 6/3/2015: Response from Owner comes five months after this review. Why wait so long? Specially since I received some vicious emails from the same owner after I first posted this review in December of 2014. Not to mention the simple fact that if the mistake was addressed then the package would have arrived its destination on time. Not only did it not, it was lost along with sensitive personal data. read more
