This place is SO IMCOMPETENT! Came in to process an amazon return several months ago after having done numerous ones over the years at UPS stores. Usual thing original packaging, UPC code... week later all 6 packages on my doorstep after return window closed. I have now LITERALLY been dealing with this for 7 months with Amazon because UPS store STILL hasn't sent back the items right and won't take responsibility for the error. Obviously workers didn't know what they were doing, since they processed it as an order rather than a return, but instead of just apologizing and dong it right, the manager made me wait ages and then lectured ME about how they were supposed to put it all into one big box and put a mailing label on it-as if it was my fault they'd done it wrong. And when I pointed out that the Amazon instructions say original packaging etc., he made out like he had some inside scoop on Amazon that he was letting me in on and insisted on doing it his way, even though I also pointed out that I had been making returns to Amazon for probably as long as he's been alive, including at that store under previous management. He said it "proved" him right that the refund showed ob my account, but weeks later Amazon reversed the refund because the products had not arrived. Called Amazon and they took it up with UPS store and refunded me after I showed them the receipts from my first return and the photos I took at the store of the weird boxing and return label, but it took several calls and emails and hours over months of my time and as of today5 months later Amazon has still not received the items back. read more

I could not talk any more highly about Rita at this store. She went above and beyond to work with us on an issue we had with a damaged package. Her dedication to solving it went way past what we thought any UPS store would do for us, but she leaned in even when we had no more such expectations. **This review is exclusively for the woman who was working SAT 9/19 around 4:00PM** If you are the manager of this store, I hope you see this review and promote this woman - I wish I remember her name. Obviously, during COVID (AND the aftermath of the two weeks of wildfire smoke) there are going to be serious delays in shipping, returns, and anything else--and I cannot believe how self-entitled some people are about this--they are working their hardest with the current situation! Anyways, she was the only one working behind the counter (I believe), there was a pretty big line and even more people coming in. (However it went pretty fast all things considered--in and out in like 10-15?) Watching her interact with customers ahead of me, and on the phone, I was amazed. She was trying to be very efficient with progressing orders, and was explicitly explaining to customers about needing to hold onto their receipt of drop-off and the Amazon return policies etc.etc. She was professional the whole time and very polite--even when I could tell someone on the phone was being nasty (as if she can control shipping timelines right now). She went "Above and Beyond" Clearly from past reviews this store has had some customer service challenges? This was my first time here, but I was very impressed by her. This is a great UPS Store. I've had a mailbox here for years and had nothing but excellent experiences with Rita and the entire staff. It's a big reason why I keep renewing my box. Also for context on some of the negative reviews, a scene I've seen more times then I can count, is some customer who tends to be in a big rush, brings in their package (usually an Amazon return) and the package is either not taped, doesn't have a label, and or is something that's an odd size. The person then expects the store staff to assemble and put the entire package together and the kind folks working there help people over and over in this situation. For whatever reason, these types of customers tend to have a HUGE attitude and unreasonable expectations, so much so that if they think anything is wrong or too expensive they blow up. And 9 out of 10 times if there is an issue it's because they didn't read the return instructions or don't have a clue how shipping works. It is truly ridiculous to watch in person. So keep that in mind when you see the other reviews. The tone in them speaks volumes. read more

I have been coming to this location for a couple of years with no issues. Today I came in to send a package (which I already had the QR code for) so that was fine. However, I had also sent a package there for pickup (just to make sure it didn't get stolen). The lady at the counter asked for my id which I had but she said it wouldn't work because the address on my id didn't match my package. I offered her a tracker number but she said she needed something with my name and the other address. I joked that she could look at the package I was returning (which had the address she wanted) but she said she needed the shipping email so I said I would step aside so she could help other people. I showed her both the email from the company where I purchased the item AND the email from ups with the tracking info but both of these only had the UPS address (since that is where I had directed my package). She said neither of them would work, so I said I wasn't sure what more I could give her. At this point I was pretty frustrated (I have picked up packages many times without these issues!) but I wasn't raising my voice or being rude. She told me that I was getting snippy with her and she didn't appreciate it. Eventually I just walked out and one of the people in line came out and assured me that I wasn't crazy or acting inappropriately! It was such a frustrating and humiliating experience! I'm going to do my best to avoid this business and stick to FedEx if possible because they've always been really nice. read more

Ok so like every time I stop by to drop off a package it feels like there is a new employee. Some know what their doing some don't. This is totally a receiving door of staff. So far I haven't had any packages but it seems like one employee always has to ask the other what to do. As for cost well that's totally frustrating between them and Fed Ex. Like you will get better tracking and an 800 number to call but the post office is cheaper overall. The good thing is there's like infinite parking, street and a large garage. read more

Rude does not even begin to describe them. I have been picking up and dropping off packages here for years and the employees change frequently. I thought nothing could be worse than the two who brought their kids in to jump all over the boxes and counter, and after staying away for a few months, things got worse. The supervisor there likes to stare down customers and prompts the newbie to do things that are quite rude. She also insists that people sign for packages before she even goes to get them. After spending $140 to ship an overnight package and received a drop off package receipt, not only has it not been sent, the package was not even scanned into the UPS tracking system. After calling the UPS store, they claim they do not have the package and are not taking responsibility for it. If you are a small business that is dependent on reliable shipping services, stay away. I rarely send packages, especially returns... so the process is a bit new to me, especially with UPS. I needed to return a package and the employee I encountered lacked customer service and communication skills. She had short brown/reddish wavy hair, glasses, and a southern accent. She couldn't tell me when my package would arrive it's destination nor did she offer me a tracking number. I stood looking at my wallet waiting to pay for the return but she looked at me and said, "that's it." I was confused and said, "yes...that's it." Then she replied, "that's it." Could she have said, "you don't owe anything." That would have been less confusing. She was not wearing a mask either. I needed a tracking number but avoided going back, I didn't want to interact with her again. read more

Apparently they won't put tape on a box for you anymore "this is only a drop off point" they said. Only a drop off point? I think they were mad because I didn't buy the label from them? So I had to buy the tape. Attached is a picture of tape from Sip and Ship down the street. How does a independent third party shipper have more customer insight than a UPS store? Bad service at this place all the time. The older lady that works there couldn't care less about shipping things. On the "only a drop off" point; a guy in front of me asked if they could drop off DHL, they said yes, but didn't know how to accept it in the system. Starting to wonder if maybe they didn't know what tape is or what tape is used for, so they just parroted "this is only a drop off point" Bad service, incompetent staff, bad parking, don't help when there are issues with shipments, needs to close or get a change in management. On the subject of no tape: if you are in the shipping industry/business, why is it such a stretch to offer a foot of tape? When you get coffee do they say, sorry you have to bring your own cream? This ups store's understanding of the services and needs of clients is nonexistent. I'd like a rational explanation for the no tape rule. Also! Just because you aren't a corporate location, it doesn't absolve you of all responsibility. UPS please take away their contract. read more

March 6th 2020 around 1:00 pm, Horrible Service at this place, RUDE no costumer service at all the lady was just RUDE in all shapes and forms, and the $10.00 fee that they charge to pick up after the shipping fee has been paid, the poor costumer service of the caucasian lady that clearly hates her job I will forward a formal complaint with UPS and also I will get in touch with the Attorney General about this hidden fees that aren't regulated and manipulated as they please. We were going to send my Uncle packages of Salmon with some dry ice, it was going to be $400 for this box, but just getting to that point with this lady was horrible. I had to ship a package out tonight. I sent a used gaming system to a friend, and I thought since I didn't have any boxes in the house (they had all been put in the recycling bin already) I would just utilize the UPS Store packaging services. I would like to say that the young man who took my package was very nice about the whole thing, but I felt like the older gentleman (the owner perhaps?) was giving me a used-car-salesman type spiel. Told me about the quality of the boxes, etc. It's cardboard, brosef. I was shipping from Seattle to Maine and paid $30-ish for ground shipping. That much I expected. I have purchased packaging services from FedEx before and paid between $5 and $10, so I guess that's what I was expecting going into tonight's shipment. NOPE! I ended up paying about $20 to send out an 18"x18"x 8" box because they nickel and dime you for each component. They even charge you for the stinking little packing peanuts. When I asked if they could just fill in the space with paper instead, he said they don't carry paper. (Strange?) So this brought my total up to a little over $50. To his credit, when the older gentleman saw me unhappy with the price to package and ship, he did offer me a 5% discount. Really though, I didn't even take it, just swiped my card and left feeling thoroughly defeated. I might use this place to drop stuff off, since they have convenient location and hours in Ballard. But I am NEVER having them package anything for me ever again. read more

Management needs to bring this location up to UPS STANDARD on service, as others have also noted. Such a convenient location, but sadly such indifferent service. They glare at you and give you push back on Amazon drop offs. Don't even try to ask for a receipt... unless you love a lecture. After 2 years of taking it, I have given up on this location. UPS at Oaktree on Aurora is far superior. Completely opposite customer experience so always worth the extra miles. read more

Beware - they will tell you your package is packed just fine and then when UPS's horrible staff destroys it as they do, UPS will refuse your claim. File a complaint against these guys and UPS just ignores it, leaving you with destroyed items and no recourse but to lawyer up. UPS also completely failed to even deliver the last package I shipped from here and when it returned it was destroyed. On top of this the staff is completely unhelpful over the phone. Do not use this or any other UPS store. Use one of the much better alternatives. read more

The employees at this UPS Store have always been really nice to me even though I don't think I've actually spent a penny here. I've dropped off prepaid packages and packing peanuts for recycling. Once the guy even mailed a USPS package I mistakenly brought in! He didn't have to do that and the 4th Star is pretty much because of his level of customer service. In addition to shipping, The UPS Store provides other services such as shredding, notarization, copies and printing, scanning and faxing, and mailbox rental (which is somehow available 24-7). You can also purchase boxes and some office supplies here. I find the location super convenient because it's next to my gym, but if you're not in the neighborhood you probably wouldn't know it's there. There is a free parking garage. And if you're hungry, TJs and The Counter are in the same complex. read more

I rarely need to fax, and when I do I fax through work for free. Today I was off work and needed to fax, so I decided to give UPS a try since I've never used their fax service before. I had sent faxes through FedEx Kinko's in the past and they were ridiculously overpriced. Here I was, thinking UPS might provide a cheaper service because of their competitions, but boy was I dead wrong! A total of four pages cost me $6 to fax, wow! First page $2.50, second page $1.50, and $1 on subsequent pages. They should change their name to United Postal Scalping. A word of advice, ask friends or family with a fax machine to do you a favor and avoid places like FedEx Kinko's and UPS. read more
