They do document shredding here for a $1 base charge + $1 per pound of documents. I brought in a paper grocery bag stuffed full of documents and it weighed in at 15 lbs, so $1 + $15 + $1.62 tax = $17.62. I weighed the bag at home as 15.5 lbs, so either my Amazon Basics luggage scale is over-reporting, or Pony Express rounds down to the nearest pound for document shredding. read more

frazzled and discombobulated rude counter help. Walked in about 4:30 pm. There was 1 woman at the counter who seemed very frazzled- She is an older white woman with blondish hair. All of the customers were totally chill and waiting patiently, but she kept responding as though people were giving her a hassle about taking too much time (i didn't particularly think she was taking to much time...it takes as long as it takes). Another employee from the back room called out to her and asked her if she needed help but she was too frazzled to make use of her. When it was my turn I needed to mail a ups package for which i had a pdf for the label. She told me it would be $1 to print and I was fine with that even though in the past they have not charged me to print pre-paid labels for which they are an authorized dealer. While i was waiting for it to arrive in their email she helped another customer who was there to pick up his mail. She told him that the previous employee was doing it wrong and that he was actually supposed to charge $2 for each pick up but that she wouldn't charge him this time. The customer was like, "that's fine and put $2 on the counter. Then she said she'd only charge him $1 this time. Then she mentioned something about how it was supposed to be $5 but she was babbling about how she was still in training. The customer said that was fine and put down $5. I piped up that she had told him it would be free this time, and then said $1 and why was she now asking for $2? I spoke up and stated that she had quoted him 4 different prices in under a minute and if she offered for it to be free, then she should not be taking money from him. She was very rude to me and asked me what my problem was. I said I thought they should have a standard price, it should be advertised/posted and that she should not be charging him when she started out offering it for free this time. I spoke up, even though it wasn't my transaction, b/c the customer in the scenario was a young African American man and she was an older white woman, and Black people in America still can't speak out about objections to the way they are being treated without the fear that it will be taken poorly or even deadly. Now the customer could have been totally chill and really not cared if it was "free this time, $2, no $1, wait maybe $5, ok, $2" or he may have just decided it wasn't worth a possible confrontation. In any case, *I* was offended by her behavior and rudeness towards me, and said maybe i will take my business elsewhere and she said good. Nice. I won't be coming back. read more

If I could give fewer stars I would. Don't waste your time. they are a "shipping" store that can't ship. Or apparently do anything else either. 3 customers in store, 2 employees. Scale doesn't work, computer doesn't work. The employee waiting on me clearly had NO CLUE about how to ship a package. After 15 minutes, not one transaction had been completed for ANY of the 3 customers. The third customer had a scheduled appointment. Her appointment got cancelled because that employee didn't show up, but no one gave her the courtesy of a cancellation phone call. She tried to reschedule and they said it would be 2 weeks! After this unending incompetence, I took my package to the post office, and no lie, was out of the building, mission accomplished in under 3 minutes. save yourself! read more

AVOID and BEWARE! Read all the 1 star ratings. We wanted to get our wills notarized so I called in advance and asked if we need to make an appointment. A person that worked here told us we did not need to make an appointment and could come at any time. Fast forward, we arrive at 5pm, 30 minutes before closing on a Thursday and the guy at the counter says he can't help us because he's busy and leaving in 2 minutes. What a lousy place! Upon entering, they were just chatting away while I waited. When the supposedly receptionist noticed me, she asked how she can help. I told her I needed notary service. The woman in the back desk heard it and responded in a narcissistic tone, "I'll be there". I waited at the front while looking through my prepared papers while they kept chatting. I don't mind waiting, but at least be nice about it. When she finally came over, she stood by the window and continued to use her high above everyone else's tone to ask me to go to her. I took my papers over and showed her. She had one look at it and rejected it because it's written in mandarin. I even showed her the notary section in complete English and it is in acknowledgment - which was enough for the notary to proceed, but she was too busy getting caught in her own thoughts of refusal that she wasn't going to waste any time or breath on it. I have breast cancer stage 1 and ovarian stage 4, and diagnosed only a few years left. I needed to get a document back in Taiwan for my family regarding my health insurance and bank information. The attitude this woman had was ruthless and unprofessional. I now understand why people complain about the customer service here. I should've never come here and receive this negativity, which is something I can't afford to do right now! read more

Cheerful staff who work as long as it takes to satisfy a customer ... something I imagine is stressful when there are others lined up waiting for service. Parking for 3 cars in front (lots of parking in the back but that door was closed during COVID restrictions). Every time I go here, it seems there is an issue one way or another and I end up not getting done what I need done. Today i was simply dropping a package and the woman at the counter was a bundle of stress and misunderstanding. I made an innocuous comment about the homeless person out front and her response was so defensive and out of context; I just got here! I go through that every day! When I tried to correct, she would have none of it. I gave up. Going in this store is like visiting a bi-polar cousin; either you are greeted by someone who is nice as can be, or someone angry and bitter. I am not willing to feel nervous going IN to a store. I've passed by this office hundreds of times on my commute and then it finally clicked - you can send UPS, USPS AND FedEx packages from a single location?? Buyer Beware! Very disappointed with this location. They post different fees and then up charge you once you are a customer. Even though I paid for the full month service and decided to cancel at the end of the month, Casey said all of my mail items would be returned to sender as soon as I decided I didn't want to renew further even though I had already paid for the month. They had an ownership change recently at least that's what Casey told me stating someone had died. While the service used to be great, the new ownership is very rude and unhelpful, avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

I always try to support local businesses, and I gave this place a chance more times that I wanted to. Today, I went to ship a rather heavy package, which is why I did not go to USPS. The item's weight I was shipping is said to be 12lbs on the manufacturer's website. I weighted it in at 13lbs before heading out to ship my package, got an estimate on UPS Store website for the dimensions and weight I got, which turned out to be about $33. I go to Pony Express asking for the cheapest option to ship my package, brought my own packing materials except for the box. The store owner (I assume) took FOREVER to get my info into the system, oblivious to what I am saying, but ok, he's old, so I go along with it. Then he charges me over $55 for shipping+box. The box itself is less than $4, then there is an added $4 "service fee". I'm sorry, I was planning on packing everything myself, asking me for that option would've been nice. I did not want to let this ruin my morning, so I paid and left. Later I see on my receipt that the weight he charged me for was 16lbs! There is no way in hell all the packing materials would add 3 lbs of weight to the 12-13lbs item I was shipping! I am furious that this store would do this after they get so much local support/business from people who trust them. Definitely the last time I'll be going there, but I also feel like something needs to be done, this is outrageous. read more

Lady behind the counter around 1:30 on 9/11 was unable to successfully mail a card for a woman in front of me (took about 15 minutes to try to find her in the system before customer gave up and left). She then was unable to correctly enter address info into her system or spell "University" for a package I was trying to mail, even after a few tries. She didn't understand why it would matter that the recipient's name be properly spelled, because, and I quote, "It's 2:00". Slurring words and her pupils were not normal. I have had a PO Box at this location for about five years. Its owned and operated by Rod and Marie - personable, professional and helpful. I will always take my packages to them to be packed as they've shipped some pretty delicate things for me in the past and they've always arrived on time and intact. And they are good corporate neighbors - interested in local issues and causes. It's a much homier and friendlier place to do your shipping than one of the big national chains. read more

I keep trying to give this place a second chance, since it's small and local. But every time I've gone in, the whole thing turns into a confusing hullabaloo. No matter which counter I walk up to, I am always told to go to a different one. They offer passport photos, but seem confused about how the process works. The most recent time I went in, I was told that my address "wasn't good"--sorry, that's still where I live. Whoever I have dealt with there is condescending, lacks some of the required knowledge for their job, and is unable to accept new information when presented with it--all traits I really dislike in people. I guess I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because they did manage to send in my passport photo correctly, even if the experience was unpleasant. read more

This is for the most recent experience, on 10/14/16 could not get through the front porch area there. There seems to be a homeless person sleeping and taking up the entire porch area. Now, people pay monthly to rent mailboxes there. Maybe this homeless person doesn't know it, but there is definitely other doorways to use other than this one. I NEED MY MAIL. And I pay to be able to access it overnight without a problem. Not very happy. read more

I know someone who goes to this place and they recommended it to me. I figured since I needed to get a few things printed I'd go. I had planned to go awhile back so I called about their papers and their prices, it was 49 cents for a color copy and 10 cents extra for 110 lb. paper. I went in today and I won't be back, I stood in front of the counter waiting to be helped by a man just standing reading what look like a newspaper. It took him awhile to even acknowledge me standing there and when he walked to the counter, he didn't even bother saying hello. I didn't let it bother me and I went on explaining what I would like done. While I was talking to him that I wanted to get a few things printed on 110 lb. paper, he interrupted me to tell his wife that I needed something printed. Normally I wouldn't mind, but he was very loud it was almost like shouting, extremely unprofessional. After re-explaining what I would like done to the wife, she asked for my usb ( she said thingy, but I knew what she meant ) and printed me a sheet to see if i was satisfied. It was okay, i wasn't impressed. The paper was okay, the printing, not so much. It seemed like they didn't change the ink out, the print wasn't saturated with color, and some spots were blotchy. I really needed to get this printed (and knowing my self if i didn't get it printed now, i would procrastinate and it would never get done ) so I settled for the sub-par quality. When I asked how much each sheet would be she said it was 59 cents for a color copy and 10 cents extra for 110 lb. paper. This was a different price than what I was quoted, I paid for it anyways. I gave her the money and she entered it in wrong giving me the wrong change, she fixed it but still all in all I didn't have a good experience at this store. Now here's my story. I recently participated in an auction at UW. I was really happy with the lot of items I won. UW does not do there own shipping. I had to make all the arrangements myself from NY. I contacted Mike from ALL EVENTS SERVICES who did an OUTSTANDING job. He picked up the items for me and brought them to Andy at pony express Lake City . Now the reason I had them brought there was I had spoken to Brandi who assured me that they would be packaged for free and I would only be charged for the shipping. After my items were packed I was told by Andy packing was not free, acknowledging that this was what Brandi was telling people, Brandi was hit by the bus Andy was driving. No one has seen or heard from her since. "POOR BRANDI", I was charged for the packing and supplies. There were 8 items in total the size of laptops. Desperate for some releaf . I called UPS and they showed me a way to save money on the shipping charges. After reaching out to Andy again and asking him to follow UPS suggestion he said no problem but had to recalculate the packaging charge. The charge "SKYROCKETED", went 3 times over the initial free "packaging charge "to over $110.00, but after up charging me 169.26 over what UPS told me the charges should have been to ship both boxes he gave me 10% off. " Way to go Andy". So my final cost to ship 2 boxes was $400.00. I'm here to tell you if you need something shipped bring it to the UPS terminal. This business is a UPS drop off location. I went in to drop off a package, I had the shipping label printed out, but not attached, expecting per my past experiences, they would tell me to leave the package on the counter and they would handle putting the label into a sleeve and attach it to the package. The guy working there told me to give him a dollar and he would take care of it. I questioned the charge and he yelled at me so I left. It wasn't a dollar plus tax, so I assume he is pocketing the cash. I've found a new UPS drop off location. read more

If you are shipping anything large, like a crate, you might want to avoid being taken for a ride by the Pony Express. After shipping several large crates with them, I realized I was greatly overcharged for their service. The weight that was reported back to me was twice the actual weight and similarly, the price was double that of what I found with a few phone calls. It was unfortunate because I had liked them there. If you have a large item like a crate, I suggest looking for LTF shippers, meaning "Less Than Full" truck loads. read more

This place is awesome. We have been using them for one thing or another for over 20 years. Current owners Rod and Marie really care about their clients. The shop is clean, well organized, and has a whole bunch of products and services to help both businesses and individuals. In addition to the mailboxes (and they do a much better job of sorting than my home postal carrier) they do packing and shipping, money transfers, fax, copies, large scale and canvas copies, basic office supplies, greeting cards, and even snacks while you are being served. I love the email service that tells me when a package has arrived, and I can check their website to see if the mail has arrived for the day. I can't imagine how they could add any other services to their store, but every year they have something new. read more
