Duy from Local Rooter was amazing. He came over on a Sunday and unclogged our sewer pipe. He found that part of the pipe was broken. Duy was really honest and showed me that the camera to view the pipe would not go down. Duy came back and replaced the broken pipe and showed me the camera that the rest of the line was clear. I reached out to them as they have so many 5 star reviews and a 10 min response time. True to their word, Tony from Local Rooter & Plumbing came out at short notice as I had water leaking from a pipe in the wall. He was on time, very polite, clearly communicated what the issue was and what he was going to do to solve the problem. He had to go buy a part from the local hardware store and came back within 15 mins and fixed the problem which involved cutting the sheetrock, soldering the copper pipe to fix the leak and then making sure everything worked satisfactorily before leaving along with providing a 1 year warranty on the work. executive summary: 15 stars Main Sewer Line clogged on a holiday weekend (of cource). Called several of the big name snaking companies. They wouldn't come out the same day, and in all cases wouldn't give an estimate or even a guestimate over the phone. Local Router & Plumbing answered on the 4th ring, gave a price guess, and was willing to send a person the same day. Person arrived and snaked like crazy. No luck. Getting dark. Had to quit. Got text soon thereafter froms a boss or owner (not sure) saying roughly "Can we come out later this evening? I am sure we can get it working." Steve and Duy arrived with their Hydrojet equipment, and very quickly got the pipes flowing again. Hydrojetting is more expensive than snaking, but in my case it has the advantage of actually working! Duy than ran a camera down my pipes, and found an astonishing abundance of roots all along the pipe, inluding under the slab floor inside the house. Youch that is bad. My poor pipe needs major pastic surgery, and Local Rooter & Plumbing will get my business if their bid makes sense and is within eyesight of any lower bidder. I got 2 cards from Duy. One will be taped to my waterheater, the second will be taped to the inside of the door to my circuit breakers. They are my new go-to people for all things wet and tubular. read more

These guys are great and deserve their 5-star status. Left a voicemail the night before and received a text back by 8AM the next morning for same day service. Martin came out first to snake our sink drain only to find the problem was worse than expected. Duey came in the afternoon with a hydraulic hose and was able to power through the blockage that was positioned 65 feet away from the sink. Both guys knew their stuff and were professional and personable. Felt like we were in good hands throughout the whole process. We'll be back (but hopefully not too soon!). read more

I can not say enough good things! We had leaks in the wall behind the toilet in the master bath. I called LRP and David arrived a few hours later. He identified the leaks, repaired them all, fixed our shut off valve near the house that was broken, and installed a new toilet. The price was very, very reasonable and he worked for hours going under to take care of our plumbing issues as if they were in his own house. My wife received a call from a tenant who had a flooding problem whenever the upstairs neighbor used any water. It was Sunday at around 4:30 so I thought it probably would be difficult to get someone in to fix. I contacted a number of local plumbers that stated they were open on Sundays, a couple got back to me that they were booked, or done for the day(?) but Duy got back to me at 4:32 with ""Yes John we can be there around 5:30 to 6. I'll give you a call once we figure out the problems. We offer free inspection and only take payments when we take care of the problem. On a Saturday evening we had all toilets and drains stopped up.. I read some reviews here and gave these guys a call.. I was quoted $150.00 (I thought was fair considering it's a Sat night) over the phone and told I would expect the plumber within 2hrs.. He ended up showing in about 35mins.. He assessed the situation explaining it was a blockage from our house to the street sewer.. My question was is it fixable.. Answer: yes, likely cause tree roots.. I was expecting a pickup truck with some stuff not that it matters but he went to his truck (by the way I am interested in these things so I followed his every move. If I'm paying I plan to learn something) and this thing was huge and appeared to be a mobile plumbing supply shop but with amazing "high-tech" equipment.. Kim Vo said the price quoted was for clearing the pipe but for an added $100.00 he would clear the line and also add a video of the affected area.. I assume this would help if the intention was to file a claim with the City.. I opted for $150.00 line clearing.. He unloaded a 200lbs roto-rooter machine with a cable hoist from the rolling plumbing shop.. It required a couple attempts with different blades to get to the "root of the problem" (sorry, couldn't resist). All in all I would say it took him 1.5 - 2hrs, but I admit we talk a bit as he educated me on tree roots and how I might attempt to manage them moving forward. There was no catch or up-sell. As I wrote the check I thought to myself for $150.00 and 2hrs of time I definitely got a bargain.. I would without a doubt recommend these guys. They are extremely competent and again seemed to me to be a great value.. I hope I don't need you in the future but if I do I know I will be taken care of.. Thank you.. read more

He gave me a few simple things to try before having them come out and I was able to unclog it myself and save a lot of money. I'm pretty disappointed. Steve came out this morning later than the agreed time. I had told them when I called that the cleanout was in the basement. When Steve arrived he said he can not take the machine in the basement. I have had several rootor people out and none has ever refused to use the cleanout in the basement. He suggested that I dig up part of my driveway to put in a cleanout. I'm calling someone else. They could have just told me that they would not do the work in the basement when I first called. read more

I found my plumbers! All of a sudden both toilets and both shower drains backed up. Of course, it happened at 8:12pm...nothing ever happens during the day. I looked on Yelp for a local plumber and found Local Rooter & Plumbing. Within 20 minutes from contacting LR&P, Loi and Tai showed up to my home. I told them my problem and they went straight to work. They answered every, single, one of my questions without hesitation. These two guys walked me through everything as I was curious as to what was causing the blockage. I had them use their camera so I could see first hand how my pipes looked. They quickly and efficiently fixed my problem. I learned that because I have an older home, there are certain things I can do to help prevent future issues with my plumbing. It was already late afternoon and most plumbers I called would show up the next day as the earliest. Lo and behold they showed up within 30 minutes. The person who showed up was a guy named Johnny, very friendly and professional. He took his time explaining to my mom and myself on what was needed to be done and fixed the problem. My tenants at the rental house always get the drain blocked. I have been working with the other plumber for a few times and everytime he got the work done very fast. So what caused the clogging? 1st time, roots and paper towels; 2nd time, pads; 3rd time, wipes. On a Saturday night in September, the drain was clogged again, the tenant called me but the plumber I always used already closed. I asked them to wait till Monday but they refused and picked the local rooter &plumbing instead. They showed up quickly, worked almost 2 hours couldn't get the sewer cleared with their 75ft snake. I told them they need longer snake because the house is on a main street the other plumber used 125ft snake never have any issue. But they said it was because my pipe need a big fix. They offered anther hydro water pressure way to solve the problem but the pricing is more than doubled. I accepted in order to solve the problem quickly. We made an appointment for Sunday afternoon so I can see what's the "hydro" way. Then they called me on Sunday morning said they already cleared the drain. What did they do? I have no idea if you change your schedule you should let me know... anyway, I paid double price and got a 90 days warranty that's in September. So it comes December, the tenant reported clogging again on a Saturday evening just before the warranty expires. I called local rooter, they sounded not happy kept saying my pipe need to be fixed. Still they showed up quickly.. with their 75ft snake. I was not there so after one hour I called to ask if they got the job done. They said they tried snake and 'hydro' way both couldn't go through my pipe must have some very serious issue. On Sunday they used camera and some detector and said something wrong in the middle I need to install a city clean out and they charge more than $5000. I almost believed but thought I can try the other plumber I always used on Monday first. Ok the gentleman came on Monday morning with his 125ft snake job done so easily... Guess what came out from the sewer? It's wipes again. I was so frustrated the tenants keep dumping wipes inside sewer, when I talked to the tenants, she said yeah that was your problem you need fix the pipe the plumber said so!! And asked for compensation because they couldn't use the bathroom for two days!? This is the reason I gave local rooter two stars for the time and effort they spent. I appreciate they always show up quickly whenever you called and try to get the job done. But as a professional plumber you need to have powerful tools not just a 75ft snake which only works on some easy cases. When you fail the job don't blame for other things and give the wrong information. The other plumber suggested city's clean out is not necessary since I already have my house clean out it's also connected to the street. My drain would be totally fine if no wipes dumped. Ok Duc or Tom whoever talked to me from local rooter, if you don't agree my comments above how about we try dumping some wipes n pads into your drain too? read more

My salon had a sink that was clogged and it affected the 2 remaining shampoo bowl and sink to not drain at all. We tried plunging it but I guess it made it worst. I flushed my keys down the toilet. After many attempts to fish them out with my hands and a coat hanger, I realized I needed a plumber to work their magic. Trieu showed up within an hours notice on a Wednesday afternoon. He had to lift the toilet to get the keys, but the work he put into removing the toilet, retrieving the keys, and installing the toilet/wax ring was efficient. Plumbing issues on a Sunday are very difficult to deal with. Many plumbers and rooters say in their ads that they provide 1 hour emergency service 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Just try to get them on a Sunday. Most didn't answer their phones or even bother to call back when I left voicemail messages. Local Rooter and Plumbing was the exception. They not only called me back right away, they were also very prompt in actually getting to my house and solving my problems. Unfortunately for me, I have had this experience twice, and Tai is the technician who helped me out on both occasions. He is extremely hard working, knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout the process. The first time I needed Tai's assistance was when my main sewer line backed up. Since there was no clean out installed by the builder, Tai first attempted to handle the problem by going through the vent on the roof. When this wasn't successful, he had to dig down to the sewer pipe and actually install a 2-way clean out for me. He made sure that I had a workable (if temporary) solution by the time he left on Sunday, and he returned (just as he said he would) to complete the job on Monday. Tai definitely goes the extra mile in providing exceptional service. I would (and will) call him whenever I need plumbing service. He even left me his personal cell phone number, so I can reach him directly in an emergency. That's what I call service!! read more

Tonight, we were in a real jam, figuratively and literally. Our shower was draining slowly last night and we didn't think anything of it. Today after being out in the garden, I went to take a shower and noticed bits of stuff in near the drain. We figured the slow drain was coming back with a vengeance, so my wife suggested using the other shower. I looked at the tub, and even more of the "bits of stuff" was in the tub. We quickly realized it was bad, all bad. I run to my phone, hop onto Yelp in search for an available plumber. Mind you, this was at 9:30pm. The listing for Local Rooter & Plumbing grabbed my eye, as the address was just a few blocks from me. I gave them a call, and they said they would have a technician out to me in about 35 minutes! About 30 minutes later, knock-knock-knock. David, our savior, is here! David was very knowledgeable, and politely answered all my inquisitive questions. We took a bit to look for the clean-out, and once he found it, went right to work. He literally snaked the sh*t out of the pipe. Our prayers had been answered!
