Kitchen drain clog. Googled and called them (I fell for the $54 special, my fault. Although to their credit they didn't charge me for the service). The guy came and opened the P trap under my sink. Then he starts snaking it. But that was too short to clean the drain; and when he put things back together; guess what. His rough snaking process messed up the p trap thats now causing a leak! He says that he'll need $625 to fix the leak! He said he'll come back the next day. Next day he comes with his boss. They do a bunch of assessments and say $1500 to clear the clog and $625 to fix the leak! And they gave me 2-3 options to redo plumbing in the kitchen area; $6k-$12k. When I say that you caused a new problem (leak); they don't agree that it's their fault. They're like - you're going to fix the leak one way or the other. I even offered $250 to fix the leak; but they wanted $625. (Leave aside the 1500$ to flush the drain etc) I told them that I'd be calling another company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!! read more

I had someone come in with the $59 special. Sure enough, he found something worse. He wasn't even sure. He claimed his rooter wouldn't root beyond 5 inches. Which, as I tell my wife, is quite a long distance, but still he couldn't get through, whether it was a busted pipe or corrosion or an obstacle. We had a solidly clogged bathroom sink drain so we called Rooter Solutions. Adon came out and quickly cleared it. Unfortunately, he also found a small leak in the connection to the wall. He and his supervisor Cesar assessed and recommended replacing the T connector behind the wall. Adon was very skilled and professional and took great care of our home in the process. Both wore shoe booties every time they entered the house. Adon laid out a canvas path from the front door to the bathroom to protect the floor. He put plastic sheets to block the Doorway and the bathtub in the bathroom since they were going to be cutting through our plaster wall. He kept me updated throughout the project and cleaned everything up when he finished. Adon did an excellent job! He cleared drain, fixed the leak, installed new piping and closed up the wall. I had an amazing experience with Rooter Solutions and especially Hector! I realized my laundry drain was leaking after finding water underneath my laundry machine. I called Rooter Solutions at 9am and they said they would call me for an ETA. Promptly, the service rep told me they would arrive in an hour and the plumber came right on time. Hector diagnosed the problem quickly and educated me on what the problem was. Unfortunately, he couldn't snake the laundry drain easily. He tried opening the cleanout cap but since it was cast iron, it was severely rusted. Even with all his might and WD40, it wouldn't budge. He called his manager and his manager came out in 15 minutes. After they both tried to open the cleanout cap and it wouldn't budge, that's when they provided some options. Earlier this month, I called Rooter Solutions for a quote to replace a broken angle stop valve on my toilet (CPVC and old/brittle). They sent out Hector and John, who gave me two options: $385 to replace it or $600 to cut into the wall and stub it out. I wanted to compare prices, so I got quotes from another company, but Rooter Solutions ended up being the most affordable with their online coupon. I scheduled a follow-up for 9 AM to 11 AM, and Hector and John/Ernesto (an apprentice) showed up around 10:15 AM. They got to work quickly and were professional throughout the process. I was trying to use a coupon to clean my slow drain. They ended up stirring up more debris and clogged my drain. The water does not go down anymore. They gave me a sky high quote to repipe the pipes and pressured me to accept the quote with financing. After I did receive other reasonable quotes as compared to their quotes. I had a very serious drainage issue that was persisting for months and it seemed no matter what I did (plunger, toilet auger, Green gobbler drain cleaner, etc). I couldn't solve the root cause. I knew things were really bad when the the toilet would constantly back up upon flushing and drain through our bathtub. So, I decided one morning (when yet another serious clogged took place) to call Rooter Solutions for help. To my surprised, they picked up my call right away and even told me they could come over that same day to do an inspection. The technician, Hector, arrived around noon time and I explained the situation to him. Hector ran a snake through our main clean out and shortly thereafter hit a snag. It seemed the snake was meeting heavy resistance and couldn't proceed further down the line. To my delight, Rooter Solutions didn't hesitate for more than a second before they knew what to do next. One of the partners, Ernesto arrived and brought in more advanced tools, like a camera and a RIDGID SeekTech tool to find the precise location of the blockage. Wow, I didn't know you could pinpoint a location so quickly! Hector, Ernesto and the Rooter Solutions team worked tirelessly late into the evening and at last dug up enough of the dirt in our front yard to locate the heavily damaged and even more badly clogged old pipe, which was submerged in waste water. Despite the results being probably far worse than what we had all imagined going in, the Rooter Solutions team assured me they would make sure they at least had a patch in place that night so we could resume using running water without issue and wouldn't need to stay in a hotel or something like that. They held true to their word and everything went as smoothly as possible, given the current states of things. If anything, the temporary "patch" gave us fully functional and far better draining than we had previously (which was next to zero drainage due to the failing pipe). After some discussion, I agreed with their team's assessment that give the extensive age, wear, tear, damage and structural integrity issues of the existing sewage pipes, I should go ahead and replace all the old sewage pipes. Then, over the course of the next week or so, Rooter Solutions showed up for re-piping work early in the day, usually ahead of schedule and made quick work of installing brand new trenchless SDR17 piping to permanently solve our sewage drainage issues. This new type of trenchless technology is really great since it doesn't require digging up of the entire front yard and making a huge mess. Their team simply needed two end points (the clean out to the already dugged up blockage point) to install all the new piping required. In the process we even went ahead and re-piped our main water line, switching to new copper piping from this really archaic rubber. The entire scope of work from digging to installing new sewage pipes + new water pipes + clean up took no more than a week and everything looked as good as new once they were done. Almost like you wouldn't have ever known they were even there. Great job guys! All in all, It seemed like every step of the way the Rooter Solutions team knew exactly what to do and were never guessing or trying random things, like sometimes you experience with other less experienced outfits. I was also very impressed with their professionalism and their rates were fair and competitive, relative to what you might find elsewhere. As such I would highly recommend Rooter Solutions for your plumbing needs, big or small. These guys know what they're doing.
