Wish we knew about Efficient Water Heaters sooner. We had to replace our tankless water heater on short notice and had a new Navien tankless water heater installed by another company. Unfortunately, it took 2+ mins to get hot water. The installers came back multiple times over many weeks trying to fix it -- no luck. Great work. Props to Omar who worked on thanksgiving. They were rated good on yelp and their quote was in the middle of the three i received so I went with them. Upon arrival, he laid down tarps on my floors to protect against damage and dirt. He then did a removal of the old 50 gal tank, cleaned all the debris under and adjacent to the tank. After, he did a super clean install of the new one. All the flex pipes were routed nicely. Additionally if you look at the old tank, the gas line was installed doing a 180 to attach it to the tank. The new tank was done right. I am glad I went with Efficient Water Heaters and will definitely use them again if i am in need. read more

My 13-year old Bradford gas tank water heater started rumbling very loudly like an earthquake and had sprung a small leak at the base, dripping into the drip pan but not overflowing luckily (turning down to Low helped alot). A month ago I put out a call via Yelp to get my tankless water heater flushed. I got a number of instant replies and chose Efficient Water Heaters since they said they were experts in Navien brand tankess which sold me on using them and their quote was similar to others. I was doing some DIY research and saw that pumping vinegar through the system is how the system is typcially cleaned out. I was really concerned and screened for only natural products to be used. Joseph's reply via Yelp's message is below. I clearly asked and he tersely replied that he only used "natural" product and it was citrus based. Ok, great. I booked an appt. Well, once his tech got to our house and we asked to see this unknown "citrus" product that Joseph was annoyed that we asked twice about, it turns out it was Lime-Out -- A CHEMICAL and CAUSTIC agent! The Navien folks, when asked, even tell techs to NOT USE this product, it will damage the internal parts of your water heater!! We called Joseph to confront him on why he was having his tech use this and he HUNG UP ON US! He was also changing his pricing on us as well and luckily we had printouts of our text messaging with pricing from Yelp. The Lime-Out would have "worked" in that we wouldn't have known for months that the Lime was eating away at our water heater's innards plus we'd have trace amounts in our hot water lines in our home. The owner will say "Everything is false." No true. We short paid him by $81 for the work but we were trying to talk to him and he hung up on us so we couldn't. So unprofessional. I'm sending him a check for the rest, this wasn't about the money. I do want to say that he and his team do know about water heaters. This complaint is about him using the wrong product for flushing, one that would have damaged our water heater over time. read more

Efficient Water Heaters were the first the call back after I requested assistance via Yelp. They were straight forward in their feedback and to the point. My electric heater is about 5+ years old but the water in Santa Clara has a lot of salt that clogs up both the heating element and the tank. They came in, we agreed on the price, they opened the drain in the tank and went to get a new heater and in no time it was back to working. They were also very helpful in explaining what could help with high salt water situation and about opening the faucet in the bath tub so that we don't clog the "expensive" faucets in the house when the water was turned back on. Really Unreliable -- Would Not Recommend This company is seriously not punctual. Our first appointment was supposed to be 8-9 AM. Close to 9, I called them, and they suddenly told me they wouldn't come until 10 AM. I had other plans and was forced to move everything to the next day. Second appointment, we agreed on 9-10 AM, and I clearly stressed the importance of being on time. Still, they kept pushing it back: 8:47 AM -- changed to 10:30 AM. 10:16 AM -- changed again to 12 PM. Almost 1 PM -- still nobody; when I called, they told me 2 PM. At this point it's obvious they don't respect customers' time at all. Super frustrating experience. Would not recommend. According to the business owner's reply, continue commenting: This company is extremely dishonest and shows zero respect for customers' time. I even agreed to their ridiculous request to expand the original one-hour appointment window into a three-hour window. And still, they showed up four hours late, and I only found out about the delay because I called them -- that's when they suddenly told me it would be sometime after 2 PM. The technician who eventually arrived told me his boss only informed him about this job 20 minutes before. So the owner claiming "we communicated with you" and "we arrived on time" is simply not true. If a company cannot even manage its schedule properly, how can customers trust them with something as important as a water heater? Absolutely would not recommend. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing service experiences I've had. Joseph installed a tankless water heater for us in 2023. Once the installation was done and payment collected, communication essentially stopped. Recently, I discovered that the service valve he installed does not even properly isolate the water heater, which makes basic water heater maintenance impossible. I called the company four days ago to report the issue and was told to call back the next day to schedule an appointment. Since then, every single call goes straight to voicemail. I've left voicemails and sent text messages and received absolutely no response. At this point, it feels like they are intentionally avoiding me instead of standing behind their work. They also claim to be representatives of Navien in the Bay Area, which I now seriously question and will be verifying directly with Navien, and I will try to report the dishonesty of this shop to Yelp. If you're considering using this company, learn from my experience and be extremely cautious. Once something goes wrong, you may be completely on your own. read more

Water heater pilot fire was out last night, though it could have been fixed by replacing with a new thermal couple, hack it was a pre2000 model this decided to replace it.
