The first morning in Canon Beach we tried Local Grill and Scoop for breakfast. We walked in and were seated immediately. We got a Ham & Cheese Omelet and Eggs Benedict. The Ham & Cheese Omelet was okay. The Eggs Benedict tasted okay but was served in a bowl which made it extremely difficult to eat.

Spaghetti with meat sauce.

Tasty spaghetti! Ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. I really enjoyed the soft and nicely toasted garlic bread (wish it came with two, so good)! The service was fast and very friendly. The ambiance is nice and welcoming.

Half a Crab cake BLT and cup of soup.

The service was top notch. Lots of variety, especially the seafood. The server gave great recommendations. I ordered the crab cake BLT with a side of clam chowder. Both were delicious. I'm a tad sensitive to spice and the sandwich had wonderful flavor with a little kick.

Randomly picked this restaurant among many in Cannon Beach. They have both patio and inside seating. We chose outdoors, right off the street. We were very happy with the experience and found nothing to complain about. The highlights: The warm seafood salad (see pic). Lots of perfectly cooked seafood in a bed of lettuce. The scallops were the best part. I had the chicken salad sandwich and chowder combo to check out the soup and save room for dessert. The sandwich was very good and the chowder, excellent. I hate starchy overly- thick chowder and this had the perfect consistency. Lots of flavor and a great mix of potatoes and clams. Two in our group had the shrimp fettuccini which they enjoyed. One said the portion wasn't large enough, but he's a growing teen so there's never enough food. The pasta came with a side of toasted bread. For dessert we had the Marion berry pie and an Americano. Great combo. Nice that they served espresso and not just drip coffee. Only food drawback was the limited draft beer selection. All Pilsners and IPAs due to it being spring time. I had a bottled Black Butte porter that tasted almost as good as a draft. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. This place is very dog friendly and the bathrooms are very clean. Will definitely be back.

The restaurant across the street had a 45+ min wait time, so we decided to walk around and came up upon this place. Thankful we did because the service and the food was great!! I highly recommend the crab melt (added grilled onions ) and the oyster shooters! Dogs welcome! Water bowls everywhere! All the staff was very attentive. Prices were a bit high though.

Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience at Local Grill & Scoop. After walking by a bunch of outdoor seating, we thought it would be a great place to stop for lunch. We asked if we could sit outside and were abruptly (and a bit rudely) seated at the table right next to the door (and the only table without an umbrella on the entire patio). It felt like a weird choice when there were many other tables available. Considering the sun was out and shining directly in our eyes, we asked our server if we could move when she came out. She was not the one who sat us and seemed a bit confused but didn't object. We moved to another table next to the one we were originally at and shrugged it off. We ordered the tuna melt and the chicken fingers. Our food was ready quickly so we dug in. The fries were pretty good, but unfortunately that was the only redeeming factor of either of our meals. The chicken tenders were not good quality. The tuna melt was pretty bland and the bread although toasted/grilled was a bit soggy. I also found a hair that I'm 99% sure was not mine in the second half, so I called it quits. We paid quickly and our server was nice enough once we ordered but overall it was a very underwhelming experience. I know that Cannon Beach is a bit of a tourist area so prices are higher but we didn't expect anything fancy and were still let down. I would try another establishment if I ever return.

Great food and top notch service! Oyster shooters were so good! We also had the Clam chowder in the sourdough bowl, spaghetti, patty melt, and few other dishes and dessert. If you're ever in the area, stop in and dine in this great family business! We had an unforgettable experience! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the owners and staff for being such great people!

Cod and fries And Cheeseburger

I like the atmosphere of this place sitting outside on a patio with tables and shade watching the people walk along the sidewalk. I tried this place and order the appetizer, fried oyster, a little too salty I just had to peel the batter off and it was not bad wish the batter wasn't so salty it left a salty aftertaste. The main course was the best, we ordered the cod and chips that was very fresh and tasted delightful the fries was a crispy crunch. The cheeseburger was good too. The staff was friendly and service was very quick

Looking forward to my prime rib birthday dinner. The prime rib was tough. Wait staff was excellent.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. Everything was clean and well-kept, which always goes a long way. Only small knock would be the beer selection. You're paying full sit-down restaurant money for what is basically a fast-casual counter experience, and that disconnect is hard to ignore. The space itself is small -- maybe 10 tables inside plus a patio outside. The nautical decor is charming and gives it a coastal feel, but the place could use a better cleaning routine. A few spots felt a bit grimy for a restaurant setting, which isn't a great look when you're charging these prices. No dedicated parking at the location, which is worth knowing before you go. Street parking is available nearby, and there's public parking within walking distance, so it's manageable -- just not the most convenient if you're visiting during peak tourist season when spots fill up fast. I get it -- Cannon Beach is a tourist destination and prices reflect that reality. But when the portions feel small, the space feels a little rough around the edges, and you're standing in line at a counter to order, it's hard to justify the cost. Not a bad meal overall, just not quite worth what they're asking. Go in with realistic expectations.

We started with the oyster shooters and they were amazing - fresh, flavorful, and a perfect way to start the meal. We also ordered the crab sandwich which was very cheesy in the best way possible, and the soft baguette paired perfectly with it. The clam chowder was honestly one of the best I've had. Perfectly made with a thick, creamy sauce and full of flavor. Definitely a standout dish for me. We also tried the salmon fish tacos. They weren't necessarily "to die for," but they were still really good and fresh tasting. The steamed Manila clams were amazing! This is one of my go-to dishes anywhere that serves them because it can really be hit or miss, but Wayfarer absolutely nailed them. For drinks, we ordered an Old Fashioned and the Purple Hazestack - both were made perfectly. On top of everything, both the waiter and hostess were extremely polite and welcoming. Great food, amazing drinks, incredible beach views, and wonderful service. Would absolutely come back!

Kind of like the feeling of coming home. The place was packed -- just a testament to their very good food and excellent drinks -- there was even a couple sitting outside and they had a fire going. Wish I had taken that photo. It was a really beautiful moment. The place was decorated and felt very holiday festive with small bright lights reflecting off the tin ceiling. Excited to have a couple of days on holiday here. Stopped in to pick up their latest version of fudge because Christian the Baker keeps evolving the art of fudge making...and you don't want to miss an iteration. Using the owner's grandfather's recipe as the base, he makes some of the best fudge in Oregon. Tonight I was told he decided to explore a Mediterranean approach and added nutty sesame to the fudge. The sharp but soft chocolate is a perfect compliment to a delicious drink on a cold, cold night. While I was waiting for the fudge to be packaged to take back to the fireplace in my room, I spied their latest culinary endeavor sitting in jars on the counter... and actually started salivating. They are now serving Pickled eggs. Incredible. When was the last time you had a pickled egg? When done right, pickled eggs are among the most satisfying and clean bite of delicious ungrilled, ungreasy proteins in the world. And the lounge has decided to serve two different kinds, so we might've died and gone to heaven. If you love eggs of every kind, as I do, boiled eggs hold a special place because they are hearty and compact and completely whole. So when you add a spices and acid to that perfection...it emerges as "wow." The service was attentive and thoughtful always, and I was told they're open New Year's Eve until 9.
