Great neighborhood bar, the kids can roam around and check out all the cool hardware supplies and the food was wonderful too

We came here for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, and huge portions too. We started with the deep fried pretzels, which we've never had before, and they were really good. The place is small, but the friendly staff kept our drinks topped off. Overall we had a really nice time here and will be back again. read more

DO NOT GET THE FISH & CHIPS. The fish was raw, and the breading was soggy. The chicken tenders weren't much better--they tasted like they had been freezer-fried. If you're going to eat here, I'd recommend the crispy chicken sandwich instead. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was definitely much better than the fish and chips or the chicken tenders. The fries were decent, and the Cajun tots weren't bad either, but they weren't anything special. The ambiance was okay. It wasn't anything particularly memorable, but it was still a comfortable enough place to eat. The service was actually pretty good, though. Our waiter was very nice and friendly, so I can't complain about that. Overall, the food was pretty disappointing, but the service was good. If you come here, I'd skip the fish and chips and chicken tenders. read more

It's a hardware store and a pub/brewery, thus the strange name. We'd been checking out a couple of beach locations along the Oregon coast and stopped here in Cannon Beach before heading back to Portland. Great service. Pretty good food and the cutest little bar. I had a cider and a fish sandwich. My wife had a meatloaf sandwich and my son had a hot dog sandwich. My daughter had a fried chicken sandwich. Very eclectic menu. Everything was good and this is a popular spot for locals and tourists. read more

Such a cool environment. The service was great and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was great. We have a picky eater in the group and she loved the Ecola burger. The fish sandwich (grilled) was incredible. Truly so good!! read more

Walked into Screw & Brew not knowing if I needed a wrench or a beer... turns out, both. Half hardware store, half pub and somehow it works perfectly. Where else can you admire power tools while crushing a cold one? The pretzel? Absolute standout. The kind that makes you consider ordering a second "for the table" (it's for you). Service was on point and quick, friendly, and clearly used to people being slightly confused but very happy. My wife ordered a Bloody Mary and loved it !!! This place is so unique I'll be talking about it forever... and honestly, I already want to go back. Might need a screwdriver next time... or just another beer. read more

Cute and original pub on main drag. Had a great chicken burger with chips and "the sneaky deaky" mixed drink $30.90 for both. I don't drink much so I appreciated not being knocked on my ass and it wasn't too sweet. Some may feel lack of alcohol it's not worth $10. Service was quick but it was 11:15ish and not bust yet. Two servers - guy and gal. The gal was plenty nice. When I finished my meal I sat there for a bit and waited to pay. I wanted to go, the only server around was the male, so finally I lifted my card and waved at a male server. He was standing chatting with someone - not busy. He said -- I don't know what that means. Really? Is there some other meaning? Perhaps I was having a seizure? :). My $6 20% tip just fell to $4. Should I have just sat there until someone noticed I was done? Oh well I'll try somewhere else tomorrow. Sandcastle event is fun. Hint: come on Friday stay the night for the event on Sat. Parking is limited - small town. read more

Where else can you get solid chicken wings and tater tots while checking out beach toys and hardware all at the same time? This is the place! Super laid back and no frills. read more

This is a cool quirky spot. It is a bar inside a hardware store. They offer some pretty good food and all the normal drinks you would expect from a bar. I've been here probably 3 or 4 times and everytime, the service from the staff is great and what I order is solid. The drink proces sometimes seem a tad high but I get it, for the area. read more

Best meal on this entire trip. Salmon was cooked right with a nice teriyaki sauce. Fresh crisp veggies. The restaurant is on a lake with a nice view. Service was fast and efficient. It's a very solid meal for a reasonable price in a nice location. read more

We have been coming here for years. It is pretty dependable as far as food and drink. We had oyster shooters this time and they were good but not great. They were better the last time we were here about a year ago. Still a reasonably priced place in a fairly central position read more

Great little bar for adults only, right next to the Public House and Hardware store. We ended up going here twice during a two-day getaway to Cannon Beach because the food is really good - they share the kitchen with the Public House Hardware Store and it's the exact same menu. Best fish n chips in town, also the patty melt was outstanding and my wife got it both visits. No table seating inside, but the bar has enough space to enjoy the good food, get a great drink and watch the game or chat it up with friendly locals. There's also a pool table and game room. If you want to take advantage of the good food from the Hardware Store Public House but don't want to deal with little kids around, the Screw & Brew is your best kept secret. read more

I ordered the fish & chips. The food was mediocre but the service was excellent. I love the name of the place. One side is like a hardware store and the other is a brew pub. It was fun to stop in and look at the items. Bought a super soft hoodie. The music was cool and the vibe was too. read more

Sandwiches were awesome, get the grilled cheese Cajun style, it's worth it. Service and style is stellar and perfect but whoever made their playlist is the absolute best. Ambience like crazy! read more

Love this small brewing restaurant. There is no fancy menu, and it's easy for a busy mom to decide on food for the family. Must try their calamari and beers on tap. read more

Server was great, beer was great, cool little joint. Would go back and hang out again.

A little gem in Cannon Beach! Service was great! We all had a bit of an issue with our fish and chips. Not sure how to describe it but it was like it wasn't quite prepared well as a filet. It was this hard lining in the fish we each had. Our waitress was super great when we asked about what was going on with the fish. She was concerned and showed the chef. She discounted our bills, which was really nice, we ate around this portion. Cute place to try! Despite our fish issue, I would try again as the service was great and they did address with the chef, stuff happens! read more

Food was SO good, and my salad had super fresh ingredients. But the real highlight was the exceptional service, which we have come to value more than anything. Our son has profound nonverbal autism. He subtly became agitated when unable to find his music on his iPad. Dana quickly grabbed his iPad and went into the back to connect to their private server. Then Ryan came out from the back and asked what music he could have piped through for him. They already had switched to classical music after noticing his iPad preferences. It's been a long time since we've seen such compassion and unexpected, proactive service like this. Really good food. Amazing service. Wonderful experience. read more

Food and beers were great. I had the Ruben and had to cut myself off when I was full because it was so good I was eating it for the taste over hunger by the end Our food did take an excessively long time to come out so a star came off for that. The server was very apologetic and even took our last beer off the bill without us even mentioning the time. It appeared she was the only person serving tables and they were pretty full. It's a fun environment with all the tools and such for sale around the tables. We would return! read more

A mustttt when in cannon beach! Wings, beers excellent service ! Stop in with the family or for Date night! read more

Our server/bartender was quite nice and, in fact, raised the rating to a 3 star! Atmosphere was simply a few tables amongst screws, etc. (hardware store items). The most important part...the pastrami was terrible. Chewy and gristle and little taste. Bread was dry. Sandwich was forgettable. Go for a drink and look around and then head elsewhere to eat. read more

What a great place to bring your dog, enjoy the weather and food. I had the grilled cheese and it was so nice to have one that actually gets grilled! Highly recommend read more

We stopped in for dinner for the first time. The food was very good, halibut sandwich and tater tots were amazing. The only issue was with our waiter who was also the bartender. We were seated at a table and it took forever for him to bring us water. I asked what beers were on tap and he said "there's a sign over there". I couldn't see the sign from where we were sitting so I had to get up to read it. Awful customer service. What's with the service in Cannon Beach? Do they hate tourists? If so I'd consider moving out of this beautiful little coastal town. Lots of other restaurants in Cannon Beach with great food AND great customer service! read more
