Posting here as well for transparency as this company should be avoided like the plague!!! UPDATE: well it has been over a year since I addressed this with LivSmart and they have absolutely ignored it. Alfredo the VP who promised he'd fix it and take care of everything? Not a peep. After hundreds of messages attempting remedy the only thing they did was reimburse the repair I paid out of pocket for the roof. Meanwhile I was promised a reverse tilt with supposedly everything at engineering months ago yet nothing. Now they won't even respond to messages. I even got to the point of saying just price me for more panels. Guess LivSmart doesn't like more money? Absolutely avoid this company at all costs! They will take your money and disappear even if you have issues. Go somewhere more reputable!!! Should be ashamed!!! *This review may change if LivSmart ever acts like a company and handles their errors but as it stands this is my review: Avoid this company at all costs unless you like your money being taken from you and then never hearing from them again. They promised that all panels would be installed where they would be most productive - that was a lie. Out of 15 panels their technicians chose to install 12 of them on a North facing roof (anyone who knows anything about solar knows this is a no-no as North facing does not get much sun) as a result of this install my system is only producing at 30% of what it should (see pictures for "acceptable" production after months and months). I have been dealing with trying to get this addressed since November and just get run around. My rep Michael is the only good thing about this company as he at least responds to messages and tries to assist. LivSmart claims they will contact you but then nobody does. It has been months! I am now going to have to file a contractors board claim, claim against their bond and any other claim I possibly can to try and recoup some of the losses as the system is a complete joke. It should not be hard to figure out how to move panels around to produce better or replace with higher producing panels. If the North roof is the only place for the system you should have 1. notified me and discussed vs just installing or 2. Installed higher efficiency panels, adjusted panel angles/height etc. to get more production. Even if a few stay on the north roof and the rest are in high producing areas that would be fine but they won't even respond to calls or emails or even their own reps it seems. And the topper on all of this? They have no respect for your roof when installing. The installers damaged 13 tiles on my roof. I would not have known about them (as they conveniently did not mention the damage) had a roofing company in the area not noticed and reached out to me. Now I am out $750 more to repair these tiles as I can assume LivSmart will once again dodge all calls and I cannot have that many broken tiles allowing moisture into my attic space anytime it rains. Anyone looking at solar do yourself a favor and keep looking. These guys are not the answer based on the experience I and many others seem to be having. They claim I should be getting almost 8000 kWh production in a year. I am going to be lucky to get 3.5 based on their idea of a good install. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Offensive message

A representative named Carlo came out with his partner to discuss solar for our home. The appointment went fine and we made it clear during the visit that we were not interested at the moment. He was very persistent in sending messages regardless if we answered or not we had made it clear we were not interested. I guess not answering him was too much to handle because his last text message ended with an offensive and discriminatory comment "Did you get deported?". This was not only unprofessional but also discriminatory and unacceptable. No customer should ever be subjected to this kind of behavior. I am reporting this incident to the appropriate consumer protection agencies.

Rep

Is there a reason this "rep" showed up at my house after 7pm knocked on the door until someone approached? Said he worked for your company and was installing solar down the street and had drones in the air. Weird, especially after I told him he needed Police Department approval for drones. He then walked away and got into a Honda van with other kids. It's not okay to have young representatives out and about in a community after hours, especially approaching homes that have a private property/do not trespass sign.

USELESS SYSTEM, BECAUSE LIVESMART AUTOMATION IS HOLDING THE MASTER AND INSTALLER CODES HOSTAGE.

I highly recommend Robco for your solar needs. From the first phone call, any questions I had about…read moresolar was treated with great consideration and was later provided by Steve. For instance, Steve went over our potential system, explained the potential output, maintenance, and any concerns we had about installation. Robco also made it a point to not disway us from shopping around; he actually encouraged me to have the meeting and gave us ample time to consider options. I found that so refreshing and it told me they were confident in the value they provided. Once I notified him that we were gonna go with them, the inspectors were out making sure the breaker box and roof were OK. Everyone was so nice and considerate to the point where I didn't feel like I had to be home the whole time. Once that is done, Steve quickly notified me of our install date before later receiving an email with the offical details. Day of installation, Alfonso and his crew continued the trend of being thoughtful and nice. From beginning to end the solar installation was done within two days, and at the end of each a progress update was provided. Alfonso also let me know that somebody would be out to paint the piping alongside my house and when the final inspection would be conducted. After that, it was just waiting on Nevada power to change out my meter which also was faster than anticipated. Overall, I would highly recommend Robco. From the answering of the phone, setting up the appointments, the installation and inspection crew - you cannot go wrong in choosing Robco!

She provided lots of information, answered my questions clearly, and made everything feel straightforward instead of overwhelming. Armando and his crew did the installation and they were excellent -- the install was completed in just 2 days, and everything was done in a clean, professional, and organized way. The workmanship looked solid and they left everything neat when they finished. Overall, great experience from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend Robco Electric if you're considering solar.

Sales Manager, John T was very helpful and answered all our questions for the upcoming project. Jaclyn, Timm and Keaton and staff were also very attentive to our needs. They handled the majority of the administrative details that involved our HOA and that was helpful. Minor delays were with town inspections and NV Energy. All in all, everything ran smoothly and we were very satisfied working with Sol-Up!

We spent close to 50k on solar panels. Our inverter went out late August. They sent out a tech to try to fix it several times. The fix would last a few days then fail. We were finally approved for a new inverter. We had to wait for the warranty to be approved then the unit to be delivered then for it to be installed. We lost the ability to generate energy on and off until last week. (Aug-Nov) When I asked to be compensated for the loss of the ability to generate power due to faulty equipment I was told that the company would look into it and ask management. I was contacted today that $69.00 is all that was approved. So from late August to the end of November we were not generating power from the panels consistently. We were patient waiting for a fix and to be told $69 is disappointing today the least. Please be careful when considering to do business with this company. I understand needing to take time to fix an issue but not to help the customer with the loss of solar for over three months isn't how you take care of customers. I wouldn't recommend them.

I wanted to post a quick follow-up to my earlier review. After I shared my concerns about the…read morenon-disparagement clause in the contract, I got a call from Solar Optimum's Director of Sales. He was professional and respectful, and took the time to explain their side of the clause. They're not trying to silence honest feedback across the board -- they're asking for 45 days to fix any issue before someone goes public with a negative review. I appreciate the clarification, but this is still an effort to silence consumer's right to free speech, which is something I take very seriously. I work with several brands that compete in various marketplaces, and this is a tactic I would never endorse. The clause, as written, sends the wrong message. It's written in very strong legal language, and yes, it absolutely reads like a threat. Telling a customer that their warranty could be voided over a "disparaging" comment -- even one that's truthful -- feels more like protecting the brand at the expense of the customer's rights. If a company's service is great and they handle problems with integrity, their customers won't feel the need to "disparage" them in the first place. To be clear, I otherwise had a good experience with Solar Optimum during the proposal stage, but ultimately decided not to sign due to what I consider to be a big red flag. I have no reason to believe that the positive reviews here are not genuine. I just have to assume that part of the reason they seem to out-index the rest of the industry is due to this type of tactic. I don't have a crystal ball - but the solar industry seems to be littered with companies who deal in deceptive practices, so if you want to be the "good guy", then you should have confidence that your customers will advocate for you. This isn't personal -- it's a broader concern about consumer rights. If you're thinking about signing with any solar company (not just this one), read the contract carefully, ask questions, and make sure your voice doesn't come with fine print attached.
