They provided us with estimated required panels and I think my husband declined two or three. our power bill plus our monthly payment to ION is under $200 total each month. after the installation we had a hot tub installed and thought we would see a spike in energy use, nope. we are very pleased. they check on us periodically, they have been sensitive to my husbands health and sometimes call just to see how he is doing. We have referred friends and family, they have a great referral program. my cousin had them installed and his mind is blown at how much he saves monthly in energy costs. choose them, tell them Danny Garay referred you, you won't be disappointed. read more

Solar systems are a joke in the Las Vegas valley. 25-30 year PPA contracts, Warren Buffet maximizing profits by lowering NP buyback rates for power fed back into the system, unreasonable high prices for purchasing, and many instances of roof damage during installation processes. Also, your representative walking around Henderson knocking on doors of people he clearly doesn't know was very rude. This company's sales tactics is very disturbing and disrespectful. It's been about 3 months of them nonstop coming by. We have a "No Soliciting" sign but I guess they can't read nor understand what 'Not interested' means. Today rep knocked my door multiple times super hard and rang the door bell early morning waking my baby. I called their customer service hoping to see if that helps end this. buyer beware!!!! this company is a complete scam. i had solar panels installed on my house. their "team" determined how many panels i would need based on last years electricity bill. my electricity usage has not changed since last year. they are telling me my energy consumption is over by 10% and that nevada power will bill be for the difference. i was also told that their panels are preforming 110% and there is no issue with the panels. they are claiming i am using more energy. when i agreed to the installation i was told the number of panels are my roof are sufficent enough based on my consumption. for this problem to be solved more panels will need to be used. complete scam company,,,, do not buy anything from them! read more

No Soliciting Sign at door. Ignored the knock. Then he rang. Started with the usual spiel, "Don't know if you know your neighbors... I'm with Ion Solar" I replied immediately with a firm "No thanks" while I had my dogs collar. He then started claiming my HOA sent him, YELLING AFTER ME when I closed the door and walked away, disturbing my neighbors and upsetting my dogs. Then he proceeded to knock and ring my bell several more times. Our HOA communications are via mail, there is no affiliation I have found online, and absolutely zero reason for a man to harass a woman home alone. If a company cannot respect your boundaries as a prospect, they will absolutely not respect you as a client. Got solar panels installed when I purchased my new home. The house is 100% electric so it made sense to me to get solar panels. I had a few different quotes from different installers and I decided to go with ION. When they showed me the layout for the panels, I was told they would install the maximum panels they could based off of my rooftop size. At first I was very pleased with the system but after 7-8 months I started to see an increase in my power bill. Just so happens after a year of service a customer service representative reached out to me and ask if I was pleased. I told them about the increase in my power bill and they asked me to send them some power bills so they could see what's going on. The following day they called and said I am using more power than they estimated. They then tried to sell me additional panels which was really frustrating because I was told at installation that I was receiving the maximum amount of panels my house could have. Ultimately it feels like I got screwed. Now I have a high power bill as well as a solar payment. Mind you I have a family of four and we do not doing anything in this house that isn't necessary to survive. We don't have an electric car we don't leave lights on. I would think a solar company would be able to better estimate the amount of power an all electric house would use. Mostly, I am just upset that I was sold one product and a year later they are attempting to sell me something I was told I was getting in the first place. It's been a tough/interesting experience after getting panels from ION. Firstly, the sales guy (Elijah) was obviously looking to get a sale. That's his job and I get it. I asked multiple times to confirm that the panels would be enough to cover my electricity usage and he said "yes 100%". I still have bills from NV energy. They are lower, but nowhere near 100%. After the installation, absolutely no contact from ION. I've reached out a few times for questions on how to read my production and I'm told to talk to a different company. I've not heard a single thing, not even a follow up from anyone there. Crappy experience overall from them. Not much I can do about it now since I'm stuck with the contract and bill. Pretty sure they said they would also install a bird cage on the panels and that wasn't done. I would look elsewhere for panels. read more

Over promised and under delivered on every level. From lying about the tax credit you get to how the company will take care of you and your panels. Every time there is something wrong with your panels YOU have to pay 250.00 and wait 3 days for the payment clear Ion Solar's bank. Then it's another 8-10 days before they get a technician out. Like today I had a window between 11-2 and they no called no showed. I called and spoke to Matt, who could care less about the issue. Escalated it to his supervisor Parker Enrod @385-355-6632 x1018, who also could care less about my situation. He said I am sorry no one called you to let you know they would not be coming today, but I can schedule you for 8 days from now. And that is not even a guarantee. I have to wait to hear back from the operation's manager, Hugo. And I cannot transfer you to him. Asked for his boss. He said he can put in a request for his boss, Kensey to call me back, but it is up to her if she feels it warrants a call back. Wow!!! These solar panels were $30,000.00 and you're locked into the panels, stuck with this company that doesn't give a shit about the customers. I would look elsewhere if you are interested in solar. We have had our system for 5 years. It has stopped producing 3 separate times. Never notified by the ION. If I didn't look at the apps on a regular basis I would never know, except I guess when I have to pay for both the panels and now my electric bill. My system was out for about 2 weeks - 2/23 was last day of production. I called on 3/6 to ask about it and get service. At that time, customer service said they would call back to schedule. I never received a call back from them. I had to recall customer service on 3/12. They then said they will schedule once a prepay the $250 service invoice and would not schedule until the invoice was fully cleared. I made the payment and the invoice cleared by 3/14. On 3/19 I still hadn't heard from anyone at ION. I called again and they said they would get with the scheduling department and that my account would be marked as "high priority" and should receive a call in a day or two on getting something scheduled. I just received a text, not a call, that I'm scheduled for 3/31. I am flabbergasted with the horrendous customer service from this company. I haven't been producing since 2/24 and they aren't coming out to "look" at it for well past a month. They can't keep my system up and running, don't notify you when it is down, make you pay for service before it is performed, then if you are lucky schedule you 2 weeks out if you are a priority client... would hate to be a non-priority that is probably a few months out. Its great that you have to pay for the panels as well as electricity during this time. Stay away from ION, go with someone else. read more

I would avoid Ion Solar unless you're paying cash for the panels...then I'd probably still go with another company. The finance company they use is absolutely the worst, most deceptive and unscrupulous company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. They do not disclose that your loan cannot be transferred to a buyer that is not occupying the home and when I asked why...there was no reason...just that they won't...but they don't disclose it at the time of financing nor is it in any of the paperwork. Oh, and they wait until 24 hours before the close of escrow to tell you. When I contacted Ion regarding the issue, they said that it wasn't their problem and there was nothing they could do...so I ended up having to pay half of the remaining balance to close escrow so I could move into my dream home. Today a salesman had the nerve to stop by my new house even though I have no soliciting signs up and when I told him to leave and never come back with a brief synopsis of my previous experience with his company, he tried to say I should have waited for another buyer. read more

My inlaws were talked into solar at age 80; not a good breakeven window there. I have to say that Ion did a great job. And ten months later when they thought there was a leak Ion sent a Dave out quick who checked everything out...I even checked in the attick myself. There is no leak, but the guy changed out several cracked roof tiles that were not even near the section of the install. So the sales people are.....well sales people. But the istallation crew does good work and cares about the customer. I put solar on my home recently too and getting a good installation is the biggest worry. read more

It took 11 months to install from start to finish after I was told it wouldn't be more than 4 months. From the day I signed, I had problems. Engineer dept didn't include shutoff switch to the county after they included them in the plans sent to me. Inspections scheduling told me to be here all day knowing inspectors were not coming. Installation installed equipment that was not supposed to be installed, (again, in the plans). Every dept had problems until I got with Matthew Santiago who go the project to completion. Then I got to the Finalization team who is supposed to get me all my rebate paperwork to submit to state. All the paperwork was blank and that was a whole other ordeal. I will give this advise. I've had Solar panels with ion for a while. They work great but I've had issues with the company after the sales person left. I was cold called by a sales rep for a back up battery. I told them I was very wary because I had a bad experience the moment the sales rep left and the rest of the company took over and unless it was a good deal I was super uninterested. Well it was a good deal and I was hesitant to move forward but we did. Lots of delays and cancelations by the company. No communication and runaround answers until I called higher up. After speaking with a manager and many people promising a call or text back the same day (unsurprisingly they dont) my project still is done because it got reschedule yet again. Honestly the panels are great but the critter guards they install are trash, customer service is trash, and dealing with them as a whole is more frustrating than the money you're saving by having solar. I dont know a better company to use but if you have no rush and lots of patience then you'll be fine. If you have a normal life and want people to do a they promise (or at least close) go somewhere else read more

I was first introduced to Ion from a sales person who was canvassing our neighborhood even though our HOA has a no solicitation policy. My 1st impression was good so I took a sales presentation from their "highly experienced" lead salesperson. MASSIVE MISTAKE!!! This was the beginning of misrepresentation. Research proved many of their "factual" claims were false. I reported these to the company (Ion Solar) who asked for another opportunity with a new salesperson. His costs were still high and did not answer the misrepresentation issues. We did not choose them for our solar purchase and to date we have not made a Solar purchase. So fast-forward three weeks, we received a picture and texts from our neighbors of a sales person selling solar. It was the same person. He was using us as a " sales reference" and implied we had purchased solar from Ion. Nothing about this is honest or right. I would NEVER EVER recommend Ion Solar. read more

I can't give a good review based on the fact I was told I would receive a pigeon guard for the price I paid. Later I find put it wasn't in the price. Now I have pigeons nesting under my solar panels and besides the quick install communication to solve this issue has gone silent for 5 months. Weather this was an honest mistake or deliberate mistake by the sales team, I do feel deceived regardless. The install is clean but many other solar companies offer an edging that looks much cleaner then my install. I will add a picture of this later below to show this. read more

ION is the most horrific company you will ever deal with. My elderly parents were swindled into solar by this company despite having a NO SOLICITATION sign on their front door. The sales person, who's no longer with ION told them it would cost next to nothing after the rebate they would get. They installed in the Spring of 2024. My mom was listed as the sole borrower on the loan that ION facilitated with Dividend, who is also in bed with ION and gets massive kickbacks for loans. Fast forward to 10/12, my mom passes away from aggressive breast cancer. I find out that she financed the loan through Dividend. Let me clear when I state that my mom was the sole borrower. Someone who has not had a job in her entire adult life. ION installs the solar, tears her garage apart, never pays the promised rebate (and this is not the federal rebate - this was a rebate through the state fund of Oregon that pays out solar incentives; ION applied for it and was to pass the funds over to my mom to apply to her loan, which was promised to be between $7k and $9k). My mom passes away, I find out that she has a loan and start doing some research. I learn that she has called ION more than ten times to try to get someone to help her fix the garage. To no avail, she left in the lurch. She also inquired multiple times into the rebate and was put off time and time again. I dive into it all and threatened legal action and immediately was able to get someone to the house on 11/27 to fix the garage. I continue to pursue an answer for the rebate question only to be given an absolute run around and then to be told that my mom waived her right to receive the rebate that ION kept and received from the State of Oregon. They KEPT it. Now we are in a situation where my mom is no longer with us, there's a $40k loan on the house for something that should be more like $20k (I live in Arizona and know how much solar costs and it sure as he** isn't $40k), and the last time I called ION, I asked them to open up her account do an audit on the entire file so I can see the documentation where my mother 'declined' the rebate. My mom was a lot of things but she wasn't stupid and NEVER would have waived her right to have the money sent to her to apply to the loan. Who in their right mind would do this? I've heard nothing from ION since I asked to open her file and produce documentation that she waived her rights to have the rebate sent to her. If you hear from this company, run - don't walk - RUN. They are predatory in nature and have zero business or legal sense when it comes to ethics. My family is now looking into filing a lawsuit against the company and I really hope they do because companies like this should not be able to swindle elderly people out of their money and companies like Dividend should not be procuring loans with people who are at a certain age and likely won't be around to ever have the loan paid off. It's madness. I'm baffled at how they are able to get away with this. I'll be filing a complaint with the FTC shortly and next steps are to contact local news and media to see if we get anywhere there. read more

I met with half a dozen companies and opted for Ion despite the higher than average cost- it makes sense to me when I factor in the included monitoring and the types of inverters they use. A friend of mine got solar panels with another company and didn't know her inverter system was down for over a month! She wound up with double payments for a few months getting it fixed so I knew it mattered to have a monitoring system included. The permitting and install (late fall) were really smooth. One of the guys put a small puncture in my stucco but they had a repair man come fix it that afternoon no problem. I like that they paint matched conduit with the stucco and also that the panels look wireless. It looks really sleek! Finally, most importantly, my system is OVER producing! I'm stoked. We were quoted only "80% offset" just because our roof isn't very big and not only is it covering my entire electric usage and then some, we just bought an electric car and it's covering that also! 10/10 from me and I've recommended several friends so far this year to check them out! read more

So my review is mixed for Ion Solar. They initially came to my door and I did tell the lady that I would send her my bill. My life got busy and it honestly wasn't that important to me at the time. She was persistent, which I can appreciate as my husband is in sales. They did their analysis on my property and I was a candidate for solar given my location. My average bill from NV Energy was roughly about $400 a month . We decided to move forward with the installation of the solar panels. This was pre-Covid so there were no staff shortages or shut downs that would have impacted my job. Weeks would go by and nothing. I would follow up then all of the sudden a next step would be taken. Then nothing. I'd follow up again, the next step would be happening. Maybe it was just a coincidence. But this happened step by step. Our installation day was finally here! I was so excited. I didn't expect there to be so much noise but I guess I never thought of the material they would be drilling into. So no big deal there. What was a big deal was the trash, plastic parts, and nails I found all over my yard and pool. I own a business and as a level of standard my employees must walk the house and make sure they have gathered all the trash and debris and really make the house better then when we got there. I have small dogs and any of the plastic items could have been easily been used as a toy, not so much the nails. It also appeared there was a good amount of this debris left on the roof itself. For weeks I would find pieces in my yard after a good wind. Okay moving on to the app. My original app, used to track my installation process, which never worked. I called several times to figure it out and they had apparently created another one for me but that never worked either. But after the install is done you have another app to track your usage. I didn't learn about that for several months after my install when I got an email. The system itself works great and my power bill has gone down substantially my average bill is a whopping $38. So I'm super excited about that. And I am pleased that it's as promised as far as that goes. Present day, this review is a long time coming. After having the panels installed we got pigeons, lots of pigeons. Gross, they are now using my yard as their private 5-star hotel. Every now and again I'll get a pigeon egg that sadly rolls out of the nest and splats onto my meet deck. Boy do my dogs love pigeon eggs in the morning. We called a pigeon specialist who was shocked that pigeon deterrent wasn't installed. Apparently having this install with the panels is common practice with other companies as part of the service since it's known that they will next under the panels once installed. Our bid came back at several thousand dollars to have it done. We call/texted our rep and asked why this was not discussed with us as we would have taken the necessary steps or forked up the cash to have this done. He admitted that it did slip his mind during our conversations and it is an option that is available during the contract negotiations. He would get working on a solution to get it resolved (screen shot messages attached). Since then, nothing. Vanished. I am woken up at all hours of the night to the sweet sweet sound of the pigeons cooing. As I am writing this they are cooing with enjoyment at their penthouse suite atop my roof with a unobstructed view of the Red Rock mountains. Don't even mention the free house cleaning to the party of 20 living on my roof. 1 good wind gust or a few sprinkles of rain and bam all their feces is gone....right onto my wet deck, courtyard (you're welcome Mr Postmates delivery man) and my pool. It has become an embarrassing challenge to host at my house as we now have to make sure to blow out the courtyard, shock to pool and hot tub (not sure if that's necessarily but anything gross related in my pool requires an automatic shock treatment), and spray down the wet deck in the backyard. Oh and the flooding strips for the pool, well those don't really work anymore cause they are full of pigeon crap! I would love to give this company a higher review but unfortunately their lack of follow up and follow thru leave me very underwhelmed as a consumer of a product costing more then $20,000. Not that price matters here but it's not like I ordered fries from McDonald's and they were cold. I'm sure McDonalds would have been at least apologetic and tried to make it right. That made me want to look around at other options, and I was totally pissed off to find that they had signed me up for a system with less production than the 5 other companies quoted me. When we started setting up our process they were on top of everything. Our sales agent Justin showed us the reviews and ION supports the customer every step of the way. After the solar panels were installed we started having issues. We called multiple times, to customer support, our sales agent, every time they would get back to us and so far to this date 6 months later no one has bothered calling back or checking in. I called again, same thing someone will call me back. Solar panels are turned on and suppose to be working but our electric bill is still out of control. They paint a pretty picture but when it comes to it at the end of they day the don't care about their customers just their commission. Use any other company. read more

BEWARE!!! I'm absolutely disgusted with ION Solar. We had the panels installed in 2019, we were told that our monthly payment would be $87 per month and that we'd only have to pay NV Energy about $12 per month. WELL, I get bills from NV Energy for around $189 per month in the summer. Not sure if this is a "bait and switch" situation or what but I' thoroughly disgusted with this awful company!!! Just to add insult to injury, we have a pigeon problem because we were never told that we'd need to have a pigeon guard to keep pigeons from nesting around the panels. Hi I hate leaving bad reviews but I am hoping to share my experience. Our solar was installed 3 weeks ago. I have been trying to get some issues corrected to no avail. This is my second solar system and the first one with a different company, went without a hitch. With ION solar, I am constantly reaching out to my sales representative. I am still waiting for them to repair a crack from the install, get the paint color corrected so it matches the house and finalize my inspection. Just 3 items that should be part of the install.
