I would not recommend this company based on my experience. The technician came out on 8/10 to diagnose and work on our generator. During that visit, he had to leave and return with parts. He determined that a brush block was needed, which had to be ordered, requiring a second visit on 8/14. During the second visit, the brush block was installed, but the generator still surged and shut down under load. We were ultimately told the carburetor was the remaining issue. We were initially billed $1,815.21, including 5.25 hours of labor for the two visits. We have Ring camera footage showing the technician was at our property for approximately 3 hours on the first visit and less than an hour on the second. I questioned the labor charges because I was not aware that travel time was billed or that there was a 1.5-hour minimum. When I asked for an explanation of the billing policy and where those additional labor charges came from, I was immediately offered a discount rather than an explanation. I declined the discount because I wasn't looking for a discount. I wanted the billing explained. After further discussion, 1.25 hours of labor were removed from the invoice, bringing it to $1,589.90, which I paid. What bothered me most was the lack of transparency and how the dispute was handled. After my husband left a review, the owner privately messaged him and accused us of "not giving a hoot to ripping a business off." That was an extremely unprofessional response to a customer who was simply questioning the charges on their invoice. I paid the corrected invoice, but based on this experience, I will not be using Happy Hals again. read more

Happy Hals - RV Repair Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

This establishment is a sloppy, double-charging rip-off! Do Not Use Them! There are many other options out there! I contracted HH because I have seen them throughout the resort doing work on other rigs. I should have spoken to my neighbors and/or read their Yelp reviews before calling, but I scheduled an estimate to replace a worn awning on my 28ft travel trailer. After the estimator arrived, I was quoted a price just under $800 for parts and labor, but i failed to get it in writing. They came out the following week with the new awning and proceeded to remove the old one. Somehow, the torsion spring assembly broke. This was strange to us because we tested the awning motor and the spring and the old one opened and retracted without problems. They also discovered that the LED light strip was loose and they recommended replacement, so I approved that as well. Another week went by and somehow, my estimate went from $800 to $1380! I didn't understand how additional parts totaling less than $325 equated to a $600 increase! I was frustrated but I agreed to the updated price and once again, I failed to get it in writing. Though I was frustrated with HH, I was still trying to trust that they would do right by us. Boy was I wrong! The work was finally completed the following week, and I received an invoice for nearly $2200! This was supposed to be an $800 job taking two hours, but the invoice showed .5 hours for the estimate, which was fine. They then charged 3 hours (two workers) to remove the old awning, but stopped work when the torsion arm broke and the damaged LED strip. This was fine. But when they returned with the proper parts, they charged an additional 3 hours even though most of the work was already done! They were trying to charge me 5.5 hours of labor for a two hour job! They were resetting their work time with every trip to our site. I spoke to the rep on the phone and complained about the amount. He first asked if i was a vet, and that I could get a military discount. He then magnanimously offered a $600 discount, which I rejected. I demanded a return to the originally agreed upon estimate of $1380 and not a penny more. It took a couple of days, but the rep finally met my demand, and when I then asked for my military discount, he declined to award it as I already "saved" $900 on the "labor" they took off the invoice! To make matters worse, the persons who did the work left a mess on the site after they finished! We found nails, ripped pieces of the old fabric and some rubber material littered throughout the site! These guys are crooks. and they screwed with the wrong veteran. Moral: talk to your neighbors before calling an rv repair person, and if nothing else, consult Yelp! 1/3 of HH's reviews on Yelp are 2 or less. That's not coincidence. read more

I have to warn you, try to get a price quote before you have them come to you for service. I trusted them to be fair with me and that was a huge mistake. My generator would fire but not continue to run. First they charged $175.00 just to show up. Then said I needed a new starter at $341.00 plus labor. (154.00 on Amazon and $150.00 thru Cummins). They replaced the carburetor which was brand new. (They only charged me for labor). after three trips to my house they took the generator out and took it with them and had it for over a month. Then replaced the belt pully on the flywheel. Next they replaced the brush block assembly, $102.00 ($89.00 on Amazon). Next, replaced the fuel pump with the wrong one, labor only. Total labor cost $1400.00. They were supposed to be knowledgeable with generators! I paid for their education and trail and error method of repairing and 8 hours of labor at $175.00 per hour not knowing what they were doing. The total bill was originally $2500.00 and I refused to pay that much. They settled for $2000 and the whole time it was only a $25.00 fuel pump. Should have been no more than $300.00 or $400.00 if they knew what they were doing. read more

Total Rip off! The technician had never installed a soft start before we later learned. He spent most of the afternoon talking to someone on the phone on how to install it. Then he didn't do it right. So he had to tear it apart and put it back the way it was. He spent less than 30 min on a water leak prior. So he came back today and spent another 2 hrs on the soft start. A job that should have been an hr or less. We got charged 4 hrs plus 150$ travel charge. 725$ Way overcharged for this job. The boss did not care about our concerns. How to improve? Don't charge customers for what you don't know! Didn't even get a receipt. read more

Had the Schwintek Rear Slide mechanism replaced after not being bale to extend and retract the full wall slide. Since 2023 I have put the slide in and out a total of 2 times and both times the Slide will not retract completely. Im done with waiting for 2 months to order hardware and a completed job that did not correct the issue. No I won't be calling to fix it. I will have Johnny Walker take it in for a week and do it right. read more

I was happy with the tech Mike's knowledge about my electrical issue and was comfortable with his explanation and troubleshooting time. My issue did take a few visits as Mike had to wait for Renegade to return his call for assistance and then order the part that caused the issue. We have a 45 ft Living Quarters Horse Trailer/RV. Do not use this company. VERY unreliable. This company does not call you and keep you informed of status. This company keeps rescheduling appointments with excuse after excuse. They do not call you and keep you informed of the next step after they come out to assess the electrical board for our slide out which they needed to contact Fleetwood for information. It was a month after the employee came out when someone called stating the results from contacting Fleetwood. No phone call, no update, no status! Just left us hanging. We will never call this company again. What unprofessional treatment and NOT a way to conduct business with customers. You WILL be losing a lot of customers and NOT stay in business. I used Hal's RV for a roof repair I needed on my 34FT RV on 10/15/24 The good- Response was good as they did the repairs the day after contacting them The quality of workmanship looks great but time will tell. The dispatcher, James, is has an excellent phone presence. The workers were friendly. James made me aware of the hourly cost and and the remote trip fee. The bad- After completing the job in 4 hours, they tried to charge me for 5 1/2 hours. After several minutes of conversation and no payment on my end, they agreed to the actual 4 hours of labor. However, after the conversation James admittedly increased the parts fee. I could have run over to Walmart and got the supplies for under $100. They charged about $325. They thought they had a replacement A/C cover but the crew did not bring it with them. I also sent them photos of the damage and work to be done, but they still had to make a run to get parts. I supplied the code to enter the neighborhood I was located in, but the crew didn't have it. read more

I have had problems with the Onan Generator in my 2022 Chinook Bayside and learned from Las Vegas Cummins Onan service that their tech who specializes in RV generator service was unavailable, likely for some time. Cummins Onan recommended Hal's RV. An appointment was scheduled (to my convenience) within 5 days and I received confirmation of the work to be performed, verification of time, and notification the day of service that the tech, Michael, was to arrive within the scheduled window. He patiently inspected, the unit, ran it to verify the service problem, and explained his steps all along the way. I appreciated his thorough approach and continued communication about the issue. The reliability plus convenience of mobile service was definitely worth the price for the work. read more

Rip off I made an appointment for a service call to check an A/c unit blowing hot air They gave me a next day appointment at 11:00am with a 3 hour window The tech showed up a little after 2pm Did not use diagnostic equipment and told me it was a bad compressor. And he tried to sell me a used compressor ( not under warranty for $650 ) The tech was here for 5 minutes top and charged me $225 Ridiculous- So I was charged $150service call And $75 for a tech turning on and off an A/c unit Oh wait, it gets even better Now, they want me to pay additional $ They are not going to honor the $75 fee CBper the service tech for turning off and on the AC unit. We needed our slide fixed on our travel trailer due to bubbling from poor manufacturing. Happy Hals reached out to us the same day we sent an inquiry! A few days later they came to diagnose the issue and created an action plan for us. We had some communication issues with the manufacturer but Happy Hals was on top of it making sure we got what we needed to fix the issue! I appreciate the fact that they also worked directly with the manufacturer to get our warranty claim sorted out. I really want to point out that James, Emily, and Gordon were extremely professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. They genuinely take care of their customers and it's rare to find quality service nowadays. 10/10 would recommend! Under current conditions it's very difficult to obtain repairs on a Motorhome in a timely fashion. Our Motorhome awning was stuck in an extended position in a dangerous condition due to the high winds in Vegas. So James at Happy Hal's made a special arrangement to come hand crank our awning in to prevent further damage, as was a very windy day. They diagnosed the problem and expedited parts for the repair through our warranty company. The repair was over $3,000 and we were extremely pleased with the quality and the timeliness of the repair. We are currently in Las Vegas and will be traveling for the next 5 months. The furnace in our RV stopped working on Wednesday evening. Unable to get into a RV dealership for repairs until mid February, I called Hal's RV. James came to the campground that afternoon to check out the problem. James was professional and courteous. He diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and returned on Monday to complete the work. We were very pleased with the service that Hal's RV provided and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Wow this is our second service call with Happy Hal's and I am so displeased with the service. I called to have my landing gear service as it was sliding down as I drove. The repairman came out and ran my jacks up and down and said I have an air bubble in the system. I was to leave on a trip in three days. Once that was done I asked if he knew a blind repair person as my blinds were not staying up. He explained he didn't but would show me a trick to keep them working properly. This took about 15 minutes and then told me war stories of repairs he has done including taking a call from the owner James. They charged me 1 hour service to run my jacks up and down no repaired or any further action and 1 hour labor to show me the "trick" to keep my blinds up. And a 75.00 service call fir a total of $335.00. The jacks are still malfunctioning but the blinds are staying up LOL. I called James and he said he would get back to me on the cost to make it right . Guess what no call they got their money and James couldn't stand by his word. We hired Hal's RV when they were still "Happy Hal's". That was approx. two yrs ago. We had been ripped off by another mobile mechanic so we were nervous when Hal's came out. My nervousness QUICKLY dissipated. Our tech knew what he was doing. I had done a lot of research on the tankless water heater I wanted. CLEARLY, so had he. I could tell the scammers that didn't know what they were doing because they didn't know that the doors are not one-size-fits-all. Our tech, explained what was going to be done, how long it would take and how long it take to order the unit with the specific door. He was prompt and finished on time. We were in the process of doing some remodeling so he told us to give him a call when the bed was finished so that he could come back and make it so the wires weren't showing. Unfortunately, we never got to do that. After all of that work, someone ran into our RV and totaled it. I did get to use the shower a couple of times and the unit worked GREAT! Also, of the three estimates, Hal's was the best price! We are finally starting to get over the trauma of the accident. When I finish healing from my surgery, we would like to buy another RV. Submitted a service request on Tuesday and the technician showed up at 7 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday. Very quick service found a problem within two hours fixed. It gave me some advice. Let's face it, how many people do you really trust? I mean they appear to be trustworthy and knowledgeable but after the fact, you got $crewed. Well not with Hal's RV (formally Happy Hal's). Long story short, they reinspected an RV for me. The first inspection was a total waste of money and time from Jeff's mobile repair that Sams town recommended. So to feel more at peace I reached to Hal's and boy am I glad I did!!!! They are and will be my RV mechanics forever and ever. Trustworthy and they know what they are doing! I feel blessed to have found them when I need peace of mind. Especially if you are buying a used RV from a private party. We were able to get an appointment that had been canceled. The two-man crew showed up on time. Our window toppers had started to separate on out brand new toy hauler. They were able to quickly repair all three topper awnings and reinforced them with set screws to prevent it from separating again. Great crew, good work! We were traveling through Las Vegas, strong winds broke a slide out topper. I called Happy Hals and they sent out a person to check the damage for an estimate. My topper could not be fixed so the service man took it back to the shop to be inspectioned by someone more experienced. After numerous calls to the business without any positive information, I gave up. 6 months later, I still do not have an estimate or a returned call. Do not use this business. Hal is the first and last guy you'll need when is comes to RV repair. As of this writing he's booked out at least a week, but that's a good three weeks quicker than the other places. I called Hal late in the day and left a message, but I had to hit the road before he returned my call (hey, the man is busy) the next day. While I was driving we had a long conversation about the problem I was having with my travel trailer's Dometic furnace and possible solutions. He gave me a few tips, and since I have a multi-meter but don't know much about how to use it, he offered to walk me through testing for continuity and electrical loads after I parked. Mind you, we didn't even talk about how I might pay for such advice...he's just, like, "I'm good with teaching people how to do things," which is easy to believe. ANYways...Hal is verrrrrry nice and helpful and has a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to fixing RV's of various types. I highly recommend him! read more

Update on Hal's rv, took my 5th wheel over Memorial Day weekend camping first trip since Hal's installed all new landing gear. Got to the campsite and couldn't even get my 5th wheel off of my truck. Investigated Hal's rv work and come to find out one leg was installed 3" higher then the other, causing a bolt to sheer off. When i made it home had the same issue again. Called out busted knuckle rv repair and they investigated the issue today. Hal's rv failed to install the leg even close to the same height. One of the clamps/bolt was completely loose on the passenger side leg. Bushings missing, spacer missing at gear box etc list goes on. $800 later to fix Hal's $hit work and my trailer is fixed the right way. Thanks to busted knuckle rv. James messaged me after posting my first review and asked me to remove it. Sad thing is, James the owner is the one that installed the passenger side landing gear and dented my shroud box above my generator. Thanks James. Review won't be removed due to your own terrible work. Don't try and blame this one on your employees. read more

Respectful, knowledgeable, trustworthy, considerate and kind all come to mind every time I have talked with him! He came out today (punctual) to do the repairs on my RV! This is a slightly overdue from services provided by Gordon June 18, 2018 and a review of my recent services by Jim De Ram on Aug 30, 2018. Gordon repaired the issues I was having with the TT not properly switching over from the generator to shore power, the trailer connector needed replacing, and replacing a damaged safety brake cable. We recently returned from my first trip since Gordon's service and I was pleased to see everything working as it should. Gordon was also very service oriented, had great communication, and took time to answer some general maintenance questions I had. This was my second great experience with Happy Hals. Most recently, Jim De Ram serviced my trailer by replacing the power tongue jack, replacing leaking sink hardware, and installing a thumb valve on my Oxygenics shower head (great product, BTW!) We needed this done before my wife was to take the TT for an 8-day tour. Jim bent over backwards to make this happen and, as I've come to expect of Happy Hal's, he was also a real pleasure to work with. Jim was very communicative and service oriented. We ran out of time for the lowest priority item on my list (replacing an unreliable bathroom vent), but he had already purchased the part. Jim generously offered to install it without an additional trip charge when my wife returned from her trip. Being as I scored great experiences 3 out of 3 times with Happy Hal's, I couldn't be more pleased or proud to recommend their techs to others. A+. read more
