DO NOT USE I wanted to buy a full system outright. The salesman, Chance, was amazing and walked me through the quote, inspection and was very responsive. He assured me the $500 deposit was refundable up until they needed to pull permits. I paid the deposit and it was through a different company. What? waited for the inspection and nothing. After several weeks Chase said he was laid off. I was put in contact with Sam. We'll call him full of s*it Sam. Said I needed a new roof and the agreement said there was no refund for the deposit, conflicting Chase. He agreed they would review the recorded call and a manager would contact me. I've tried repeatedly to contact them again and have been officially brushed off and never received anything. No refund or call back.. Also, Chase and I responded on calls and text on a cell phone. Was that recorded?? They push you and tell you whatever they can to get that deposit and then Push you for a new roof and if you try to push back, they're gone With your money. read more

I wanted to post a quick follow-up to my earlier review. After I shared my concerns about the non-disparagement clause in the contract, I got a call from Solar Optimum's Director of Sales. He was professional and respectful, and took the time to explain their side of the clause. They're not trying to silence honest feedback across the board -- they're asking for 45 days to fix any issue before someone goes public with a negative review. I appreciate the clarification, but this is still an effort to silence consumer's right to free speech, which is something I take very seriously. I work with several brands that compete in various marketplaces, and this is a tactic I would never endorse. The clause, as written, sends the wrong message. It's written in very strong legal language, and yes, it absolutely reads like a threat. Telling a customer that their warranty could be voided over a "disparaging" comment -- even one that's truthful -- feels more like protecting the brand at the expense of the customer's rights. If a company's service is great and they handle problems with integrity, their customers won't feel the need to "disparage" them in the first place. To be clear, I otherwise had a good experience with Solar Optimum during the proposal stage, but ultimately decided not to sign due to what I consider to be a big red flag. I have no reason to believe that the positive reviews here are not genuine. I just have to assume that part of the reason they seem to out-index the rest of the industry is due to this type of tactic. I don't have a crystal ball - but the solar industry seems to be littered with companies who deal in deceptive practices, so if you want to be the "good guy", then you should have confidence that your customers will advocate for you. This isn't personal -- it's a broader concern about consumer rights. If you're thinking about signing with any solar company (not just this one), read the contract carefully, ask questions, and make sure your voice doesn't come with fine print attached. read more

Let me start by saying that I don't write reviews. Let me also say that I am a perfectionist, very demanding, and highly assertive. I've been described in the past as a real ball buster when I hire people. When I decided to get solar on my house I interviewed 12 companies. I put each one through the ringer and settled on the top 3. They were Solar Optimum, Elevation, and Sol-Up. From the very beginning I liked the solar consultant from Solar Optimum, his name is Brandon Chavez. He demonstrated confidence without arrogance, knowledge without being annoying, and character without coming off as pompous. Overall Brandon came across as a real good person. Over the next month I must have spoken and or texted with Brandon at least 40-50 times. I was constantly pitting his proposal against the other companies. This back and forth would have caused most people to go crazy or just quit trying to appease me but not Brandon. Every single time we interacted Brandon was polite, professional, and helpful with what I wanted done. Brandon never once told me "no" even when I deserved to hear it. I'm retired now but if I even open another business I will be hiring Brandon regardless of the cost. He is ABSOLUTELY EXCEPTIONAL at dealing with people. Everyone I interacted with at Solar Optimum was a joy to deal with. My installers Ben, Logan, and Justin were AWESOME. They were very skilled in their trade and kept me up to speed the whole way through the process. My solar system was completed in record time. It took roughly 21 days from the time that I signed off on the site plan to the time my system was activated. I ABSOLUTELY WOULD RECOMMEND SOLAR OPTIMUM to anyone interested in getting solar. And you should ask for Brandon Chavez to be your solar consultant and for Ben's team to do your installation. read more

I was hesitant going with solar but it just made sense in Nevada. I did almost 20+ bids from different companies across the valley and ultimately chose Solar Optimum because of pricing and customer service. From the initial consultation to the final installation, Conner's professionalism and expertise were evident every step of the way. He took the time to understand my energy needs, patiently answered all my questions, and designed a solar system that perfectly fit my home. This is my honest review regarding my recent experience with Solar Optimum. We were originally in the works with Tesla for almost 2 months now. Tesla is infamous for long waits and processes. We then decided to get a second opinion from another Solar Company locally here in Las Vegas. After careful consideration, we ended up choosing Solar Optimum as our choice. Brandon Chaves visited our home personally and gave us his quote, and we liked the proposal. He was very friendly, and we felt a connection with him, so we then signed the contract. We were told that it was a SOFT PULL, but it turned out to be a HARD PULL by the bank they were working with. This wasn't a big deal at first because we were going with them anyway. Due to my background working for the city and being an HR professional, I have the habit of reading contracts before signing. (Make sure to read your contracts; don't just sign.) The contract specifically states, in black and white, that either party has the right to cancel after the site survey if issues are found. We were okay with that because our house is newly built, and there would be no issues with broken roofs; everything is warrantied. Fast forward after a week (including non-working days), a Site Survey visited our property. He didn't even go up on the roof for the site survey. He just looked at the house and said, "I cannot do your site survey. My ladder is too short, and I wasn't aware it's a three-story house. I can go up there, but I need another guy with me and a longer ladder or special equipment to get up there." I told him " how come you did not know? Brandon came in person to check our house, he wouldn't not quoted us and have us sign the contract if it wasn't, and he said you guys do 3 stories" He then said "He is new so he is not sure" I called Solar Optimum and Brandon and relayed this information. I was told by Brandon that he would work on it with his management to set up another site survey. The next day, he came back to me and said his manager said no; they can't do it because it's too tall, and they only do 2-stories. I even told him, "How can his manager say no to us, knowing that a contract was signed by both parties, and the required task was not yet met? Unless they do the site survey, they cannot just toss it and cancel." First, we canceled our Tesla contract, losing our deposit, then we got a hard pull that took points out of our CREDIT SCORE, and finally, a lot of wasted time personally just to take care of this issue. It was weeks of going back and forth with them. It was a lot of information, so I'll cut this short, but the end result was they would not do it. Even after I asked them to hire a third party with the equipment to go up there, they still wouldn't do it because it's simply too tall. I also found out they are originally from California, trying to take over the valley, but unprepared to take on the task. It's already giving bad business. Brandon is an amazing guy; he did what he could. It's just the company he is working with. If they only knew that in the Clark County courthouse, once you have a legally binding contract signed, you have to see it through or face a hefty fine. My husband and I felt very bad for Brandon; we knew he did not mean for this to happen, but it's really out of his hands, so we decided we would let it slide and not even resort to any lawsuit. So that is my experience with them. If you're three-story, don't even bother with them. What I found out with their company is if it comes to the point of inconvenience on their end, they would just toss you out in a heartbeat. Sad but true. Happy for those who had a good experience; hopefully, that continues for the next 25 years as they advertised. read more

In summary: This company delivers the highest quality in the Vegas area market at a substantial discount versus Sunrun and, it turns out, their secret weapon is Operations Manager Zhora K. (See details below.) I'm a self-described Costco "zombie" meaning for years now I've purchased from the store without my usual indepth research because I've learned that on balance I'm getting a good deal and high quality (with a dependable return policy if I'm wrong). So when I decided to move forward with a solar panel system, I selected Costco's store referral of Sunrun knowing both quality and price would be competitive with the added sense of confidence that comes with any Costco purchase. (No, this isn't a Costco advertisement. Quite the opposite, read on.) It was only in the last stretch of the negotiations with Sunrun that I decided to double-check the market to confirm my expectations. And boy was I wrong. I created a spreadsheet comparing Sunrun with Solar Optimum Nevada and four other companies looking at price and quality of panels, inverters and labor (as well as assessing the companies they sourced these from) and while both Sunrun and Solar Optimum Nevada came out on top on quality (with Solar Optimum edging them out on inverters), Sunrun wasn't just a reasonable 3% to 5% higher but 25% to 30%!! It was such a gouging of Costco customers that I registered a complaint with them expressing my disappointment that they would allow their recommended service providers to so egregiously prey on their customers' loyalty. Another zombie down. Solar Optimum has just completed my system. And it is performing above what it promised in terms of output. But their Operations Manager Zhora is the reason they get five stars instead of a respectable four. Zhora actually personally cares about his customers. He advocates for them even when that might seem to conflict with the company's short-term benefit. I trust him. After everything was done (including the install of a critter guard I purchased from them after pigeons began holding loud regional excrement competitions above my head at all hours of the night and morning), Zhora called me to say he wanted to return one last time to fix some tiles he'd noticed we're broken. At no cost. I never would have known. That is caring about the customer. Get Solar Optimum. But make sure Zhora is leading the team. read more

I started my Solar journey with a lot of skepticism. I did some research as well as received several estimates from reputable Solar Contractors. I read some good reviews about Solar Optimum but most were in California. I called and was connected to Anthony "Tony" Morales a Sales person with Solar Optimum. Tony stayed with me through the whole process just like he said and no matter how many times I called him with concerns and skepticism, he would always return my calls promptly and somehow put me at ease. I was a little nervous but after looking at everything that Solar Optimum offered vs the Solar competitors and the kindness and Professionalism from Tony, I kept leaning toward Solar Optimum. Thanks to the patience of Anthony M., I was able to get a comfort level and finally committed. The process went really smooth. Solar Optimum gave me a 2 month install commitment and actually from the time I finally signed the paperwork my 24 Panel Q-Cell 405 W panels were installed and running in 1.5 months. Zhora and his crew Ben & Logan did a great job installing my System. The install team was courteous, professional and worked in an expeditious and clean manner. I waited until I received 2 full bills before writing my review and I am so happy that I got Solar from Solar Optimum.
