That repair held up for two years, but it was finally time to replace my aging shingles. From the very beginning, the experience was outstanding. Kimberley in the office was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. She got me scheduled for a quote right away and guided me through the entire process, making everything feel simple and stress-free. She's my new best friend. Love chatting with her! Jordan was our sales representative, and he was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, answered every question my partner and I had, brought samples so we could compare options, and never once pressured us into unnecessary upgrades. The crew that did the actual on the roof work were steady workers, knowledgeable and explained to me when I asked exactly what they were doing . The explained easily and pointed out what I could see from the ground . And they cleaned up after each work day especially on the last day, it looked better than when they started. When looking for roofing contractors through Yelp, A Step Above was one of the first companies that populated on the search! When I called into their office to request a repair estimate, they were able to schedule a technician to come out to the house a week later! George had arrived on time for the appointment! He went through the entire process with us as far as the current roofing condition. George let us know that there were a variety of tiles that were broken, tiles that were slipped or moved, paper that needed to be replaced, and fixes that needed to occur near our new AC unit. He did recommend a full reroof though if we were going to get new Solar Panels. George informed us if we were going to get Solar Panels, leaving the roof as is, that we would need to get the Solar Panels removed in a few years to replace some of the roofing, which would be higher cost! I would not recommend this company, they are terribly unreliable. The man they sent to do the inspection on my roof could not answer any roofing questions; when I called the office to get some information about the quote that was sent to me, the man who answered the phone knew nothing about roofing. A few days later, the owner's son Jesse called and asked what I thought of their estimate. I told him there was a disconnect between what the inspector said and what the estimate included. We discussed all the relevant points, Jesse went over them step-by-step and he said that he really wanted more information and would come by to do another inspection. We also discussed, because of the age of my roof, that perhaps it would need to be replaced. He promised to give me a new estimate within 24 hours. I told him that I would give the new estimate consideration and yet almost 5 days later I haven't heard a word from him. I called twice and left messages, and got no response. How can you possibly depend upon a company that doesn't live up to what they say they're going to do? read more

They use a drone to check out the entire area, provided pictures, and confirmed I didn't yet need to have new caulking around the various pipes up there. Out of 2 other roofers, he's the only one who took the - patience to acknowledge items, and then differenciate if it's necessary (leak), and our situation. Example is old satellites incorrectly installed on top of the roof vs sides which can visibly see water dage residual down at the patio. None of the other roofers was able to catch this even when I pointed out the water damage (others couldnt connect it to the satellite). - he was able to tell what is up to code and not. Then explain what really matters or not/what he would do for his own house or skip on. - he's able to gauge our situation, and suggest something that suits us. Example is our garage doesn't have ceiling vent, but has floor vents. But in reality, we aren't living in our garage, and he wouldn't spend so much to change it. Especially when we are repairing so much around the house. - No upselling of any kind. Appreciate his quote within days. And follow up later. We are waiting to get the work done. When looking for a roofing company recently, I noticed A Step Above had been highly recommended by a number of people on my neighborhood site. After speaking with several roofers, I decided to have Steve's company replace my roof which had developed leaks in a number of areas and am happy that I did. When the crew started, they were here every day until the job was done and made sure they cleaned up everything. Needed some work in Boulder City and specifically asked if they serviced my area. Yep no problem .Booked an appointment 2 weeks out with the understanding it was for an estimate. Several days later they apparently had a change of heart and pushed back my appointment date ... oh and by the way it will now be $250.00 for the estimate. I then ask what is the cost to inspect a residence in Henderson? No charge. So it went from nothing initially to $250.00 to go the extra perhaps 5 miles over the hill? Assuming I grab the bait and commit to the ridiculous surprise fee, what's to stop them from the the next excessive upcharge because they don't like where I live. I get it you have all the business you need. Just tell me you don't want to suffer the hardship of servicing the remote frontier of BC and I'll move along. Thumbs way down. read more

Hired them to check out my roof for any damage. They showed up took pictures and went over them with me. We had cracked tiles, cracked sealant around all vents, and some tiles that were slipping out of position. These factors could all cause leaks. Step above gave me a quote which was a lot less than other companies that gave me a quote. With there 4 1/2 star rating and the lowest quote I gave them the work. I used this company a year ago for a roof leak. I paid them 1,000 dollars to fix the leak. Well, they didn't fix it because a rain came through and the leak was still present. Had to pay another company to come and do it. The new company pointed out where "A step above" missed the whole entire area where the leak was. I used this company in 2023. Jeremie is the owner and he friendly and professional. He came out within 24 hours after I contacted him and walked my entire roof, took pictures, and gave me an estimate for repairs. The crew came out the next day and they did a great job and took pictures of the completed work. They replaced 2 missing T-top vents, repaired/replaced approximately 10 field tiles, sealed ridge joints and painted to match as close as possible and sealed pipe penetrations as needed. I had just purchased a home and was needing some general room maintenance. Contacted A Step Above for an estimate on roof repair after I discovered a small water mark on my ceiling recently. They responded and scheduled an estimate quickly. Jeremie came and assessed the issue and provided the estimate, I felt like I was dealing with an honest, knowledgeable company so didn't even bother getting other estimates. I recently hired Jeremie to do complete refurbish of the roof on my 3300 sq ft 2 story home. Despite the difficulties getting in contact with Jeremie I was determined to hire him. I used ASA for a smaller roof repair years ago and was impressed by the work ethic that I observed in ASA. When all was said and done I was not disappointed in my decision. Anyone can give a great review for a contractor when everything falls into place and the job goes off without a hitch, but how often does that happen. We discovered a leak in our den above the window. I did try to identify it but was unsuccessful as it only leaked during heavy rain and only if the wind was blowing in a certain direction. Our home warranty company could not find a local roofing company so they allowed us to choose the contractor. We were referred to Jeremie, A Step Above Roofing, through our realtor/friend. Jeremy came out and performed a thorough inspection of the entire roof. He had a very good idea as to where the water was coming in, and explained in great detail the probable cause. During the roof inspection he also discovered, and took photos of, approximately 31 tiles that were cracked, broken, or dislodged, more than likely caused by our solar panel installation. After approval from our home warranty company we scheduled the repairs which took approximately 2 to 3 hours. The team of technicians were very professional, courteous, took additional photos, and also explained to me what they had done. No major rainstorms yet, but I am confident the leak has been repaired. Several weeks ago, after being out of town during the heavy rainstorms, I came home and noticed some water damage on the ceiling of my dining room. I called A Step Above because they'd done some work near my fireplace several years earlier. Jeremie came over and inspected the roof. He showed me photos he took and explained my options. He was very patient and sympathetic because my husband recently passed away and I'm a bit overwhelmed by now having to deal with everything by myself. The estimate Jeremie gave me was very reasonable and I scheduled a time to have the roof repaired. Yesterday Jeremie's two sons came over to do the work.
