I had been to this nail salon in the past. On 5/14 I called and canceled my appointment . I specifically told the woman I spoke to I wanted to reschedule the appointment for 5/17. When I called today, 5/16, to cancel again I was told I didn't have an appointment scheduled. If someone working doesn't speak English well, they should not be handling phone calls. This location isn't your typical fancy salon & spa in town, but I must say the staff were welcoming the moment I walked in to the moment I stepped out to of their salon. They have a selection of Essie & OPI colors. This location also offers gel as well as waxing services. I decided to get my lips waxed ($7) last minute. I called ahead to get an idea of the cost of their mani pedi ($25) and I booked my appointment on the same day since there was an available slot at 6PM. They welcome walk in's but appreciate those who schedule an appointment. I'm a happy customer. Nails look great and service was remarkable. To add, they massage your back while you're drying. Before I left, I was given a business card/loyalty card which offers 10% off on customer's 5th and 10th visit. Just an added perk for me to return. I visited Livingston Nails yesterday as my first time. I booked appointment for 6pm and showed up at 6. Once I walked in, I really like the interior and atmosphere over there. Especially color of wall was impressive. I went there with my brother. Both of us got spa manicure. I picked light pink polish for me. They did good job. I like it. Unlike other nail salon, it very well decorated, spacious and most of all CLEAN!!!! the staff was very friendly and accommodating even if you did not have an appointment. Nothing fancy or inviting. Picked out a color for gel manicure and clearly the polish was either old or watered down- extremely thin and much lighter than bottle. Ended up with 4 coats of polish between 2 different colors and horrible thick looking nails. At the end, she inappropriately hussled "I take tips in cash when you're ready" and complained of tip amount I gave her. If I were able to choose 0 stars, I would. Absolutely atrocious. Just a heads up they charge $10 for nail polish removal ontop of whatever cost they charge you for getting your nails done. I was shocked when I went to pay & there were hidden fees that I was not informed about initially. Rude employees as well who didn't seem interested in doing their jobs. The man who works the register actually sat there and tried to tell me he "heard one of the girls tell me about the nail polish removal fee" which is a blatant lie. Disgusted. I didn't like anything about this place. While it wasn't a "pretty" or well kept looking place, that isn't what bothered me. They just couldn't really do nails. I asked for a basic manicure, which was only $10, a decent price. This place did a half-ass job - my cuticles weren't done right, there were small pieces of filings when the woman polished my nails and she didn't even wash my hands after the buffing and oiling. When she polished my nails, there were so many streaks, I looked like a zebra. When I pointed it out to her, she redid them, but the same way. Finally, her manager came over and said it was the polish, even though it wasn't. I ended up asking for my money back, while still tipping the girl, but walked out sans manicure. I also didn't like they turned customers away. One woman walked in who was a regular and she was told to come back tomorrow since the three manicurists were busy. Bad for business if you ask me - especially since a manicure there takes less than 15 minutes, as there are no frills, extended hand massages or scrubs. read more

well 1 bad review and 3 good reviews made me feel its worth a try,i walked in a lil earlier than my appointment time and was seated right away,I had told the lady over the phone that i wanted gel fill ins, but for some reason, she couldnt understand what i was saying,but then she said yes they did gels so i booked my gell fills and pedicure.as i walk in ,I NOTICED THAT THEY DINT HAVE THE USUAL BUFF MACHINES TO DO GEL NAILS,SO I MADE SURE I SHOWED THE MANAGER MY SCULPTED GEL NAILS AND TOLD HER I WANT FILL INS ,SHE SAID OKAY PEDICURE FIRST,selected my shade and soaked my feet, the technician comes to me with a filer and starts filing off my gel nail polish of my nails, and asked me if it were acrylic?i should have stopped her then,she tried to filed it off but dint work, i assumed it could jus be a new step that they do,she went and got the silver wrap with acetone,i stopped her right there,and then made them aware again of what i wanted,after 10 mins of explanation they finally understood what i wanted and said U SAID GEL COLOR? i showed the lady my nails b4 going forth with it,and being a nail tech i expect her to understand what gel fills are.
