Glady's Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - South Orange, New Jersey

Initially this was a nice spot but then I kept having to go back to get my nails redone in between regular appointments. And then the nail technitions started getting annoyed with me for it. No bueno. I stopped going and found a new place. read more

I came here for the first time to get a pedicure before my vacation. i called around 4:30 and after being told they were booked for the evening the receptionist stood me to come an hour later and i was taken almost right away. the pedicure was fine and they did a great job of scrubbing my feet. However there was absolutely no ventilation and the place is TINY. the chemical smell was so overwhelming I could not wait to leave. i feel bad for the workers who ingest those chemicals daily and highly suggest they fix the ventilation issues. read more

Glady's Nail Salon never disappoints! This set is one of my favorites, their cute colors and professional service made it highly enjoyable. I made an appointment and was sat at a chair immediately. After my service was finished I received a hand massage and a hot towel to keep my hands looking fresh for this photo. read more

Found this establishment via Google Maps. I got the Mango Spa Pedicure with Gel Polish (scrub, hot stones, paraffin , warm towels etc) . The nail tech brought my feet back to life. She took her time and made sure I was comfortable. The place was clean. I spent 85.00 and it was well worth it! read more

I visited Gladys Nails today Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in South Orange NJ. my technician was Emma gave me expedient service. She did a great job on my pedicure. Emma has serviced me in the past and each time she excel others. Emma has a personal touch as well as excellent service. The entire staff is friendly and courteous. I started going to this establishment when it was GOLDFINGER under another management. Gladys nails is a great improvement in service and workmanship! Alberta read more

Not a great experience. Manicure only so-so. I also question some of the hygiene of the place. Manicurist had been cleaning the pedicure tub and then went right to paint my nails and did not wash hands before. I had to ask her to wash her hands. Manicurist bumped my finished nails and I asked her to fix it. She said it was fine. When I got outside and could see it better, it was clearly bumped. She should have fixed it. I would have gone back but was fed up at that point. read more

This was my first time here. I had a 9am appointment for a pedicure. The lady did a great job. She took her time and was precise. The establishment was very clean and I felt comfortable being there. I'm not sure if I will return because $42 is a lot for a gel pedicure but if money wasn't an issue it would be a no brainer. read more

This place is so mediocre. Point blank period. Such a beautiful salon but terrible nails. Shape is off. I asked for really squared and basically got oval. They didn't even have a similar pink color. Not only that but the nail stylist could not do simple clouds. It's not that difficult. So the owner came to do my nails, in which I was relieved but I was wrong...as soon as she showed me her work I was in shock. Literally anyone can open a salon nowadays, I guess. No one puts in the effort or at least appreciates the art in nails. I give this place a 1 star for giving me hopes in opening my own nail salon. We need more salons that actually love what they do. This picture tells it all...:( read more

This place was absolutely amazing, I've never had such attention to my nails. They made sure I liked the shape and the length, everything was perfect. Not only that but they had sooo many colors to choose from for gel nails. However, this place is super expensive. For a gel refill I spent over $50. read more

Update: I went back and had my nails redone and they looked a lot better. However, they wanted to charge me because they did a Polish change. I'm sorry, if you did them right the first time there would be no Polish change!! Though I love the design, I won't be back. Their prices are too high for no reason. read more

great service , high quality equipment, friendly environment . Definitely recommend to friends.

I got a good gel manicure here, and it lasted. Good quality. But the vibe is a little off, in my opinion. It feels unnaturally quiet and kind of tense, and like the customer needs to act right in order to be there. I should mention that I was the only white woman in the place, so maybe -- I'm not sure -- that's why folks were kind of skeptical of me in particular and not at all chatty. Again, I don't know if it was personal or just the vibe for everyone. But the manicure was great and for people who don't mind the silent treatment, it would be great. read more

I had a pedicure. It was my first visit there. It's a very small establishment but comfortable. The ladies were very accommodating & friendly. It wasn't the best pedi I've ever had but on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 8+. A basic pedi with gel polish was $48. That's more than my usual $35. All in all, l'd go back if I couldn't go to my usual salon. read more

I've been coming to this salon for quite some time since it's close to the school i went too and I've found that it's always a pleasant experience. The salon is clean and they're attentive to your nails. They're honest on the phones about their availability and how long the wait will be. Even though it's rather small it's always clean and the ladies are nice. They have a wide variety of colors and while most salons don't really care to match your gel polish with your regular toe polish the girl doing my nails, silvia went out of her way to make sure the colors matched. She was also super attentive to the shape of my nails and made sure the shape and length matched. This this may become my regular salon. read more

Loved it! I walked in on a Monday afternoon for an acrylic fill-in and pedicure. Both of my services were great. They took their time and were very detailed and didn't over pluck my cuticles (which I hate). They also didn't over file! They were very polite and I like the individual special care you seem to get here. Great decoration, clean environment, and good music playing in the background. Moving forward I will call for an appointment in advanced as the shop is petite. Fabiola did my nails. read more

I tried this place for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Clean, nice setting, and comfortable seating. For me a big win is that only yesterday I removed the nail polish as had gotten too worn out. Wasn't even really chipping but just dulling. AMAZING. For at least 12 days the manicure & polish really held! I believe it was actually Gladys who did my mani/pedi. Very thorough and meticulous job without being too long. She's the one who suggested the nail polish as she had just recently ordered it... Essie in a bottle that's twisted. (regular nail polish - not shellac) Highly recommend! Couple things to note - - When I walked in it seemed for a minute I should have made an appointment.. but they did end up being able to squeeze me in. You may prefer to make an appointment if have an absolute window of time - No Wi-Fi. As someone who likes (usually needs) to multi-task work on a laptop during the pedi, this is a somewhat big drawback. read more

Clean and modern amenities and techniques. Appointments are essential but they Accepted my Friday morning walk in for powder set, pedi and brows. All three were EXCELLENT. I just moved to the area and this will be my regular nail salon. read more

No nonsense nail salon right in town. Friendly and fast service. The salon is pretty clean as well. Gets pretty busy on the weekends, so best to go during the week if you can. Also, be sure to bring cash to tip as they don't allow you to add tip on your card. read more

So, just stopped in an hour before they closed for a refill on acrylic and they said they are closed. I've been here 3 times and they do a decent job. I say decent because it depends on who you go to. One of my 3 times the lady cut up my fingers cleaning my cuticles but the other times with other people was fine. So I agree with the other reviews on quality, but to turn a customer away a whole hour before you close I think is horrible service. She told me to come tomorrow like she knew my schedule. I said I can't and she still turned me away. I think that was very inconsiderate. Btw Glady and another person was just walking around so it was not like they were too busy. Arriving at 5 after 6pm and you close at 7, there was plenty of time to accommodate. read more

Glady's nail salon is one of the best around! I've tried a lot of nail salons in the area, including Millburn and Maplewood and this is the best one yet. Their staff is always warm and welcoming and their attention to detail is appreciated. They make sure you leave there with what you want even if that means they sacrifice more time than normal. I highly recommend making an appointment because they are usually very busy. Their spa pedicures are great and they have a large selection for the type. Love this salon! read more

Awsome place! I was in the area because my boyfriend had some business next door so I decided to get my nails done to pass the time while I was waiting. The salon was very well kept and clean. The young lady that did my nails was very attentive to detail and took her time with my nails! That's a big one for me I got a regular gel manicure and I'm super happy with the results! Now I don't live anywhere near south orange but if I'm ever in the area again and I need some papering I will defiantly be stopping back in. read more

I absolutely love this place. Gladys does amazing waxes - so gentle and quick. Plus, the team is sweet and they do a great job with nail services. I started coming her 1 year ago and haven't gone anywhere else since! Definitely a fan! read more

I found my nail home (I hope). I went elsewhere last time and had such an uncomfortable experience. Though they were closer to me, I refused to give my money to anyone that treated me less than what I feel I deserve. At Glady's I was greeted upon entry and asked if I had an appointment (THEY TAKE APPOINTMENTS ). I didn't so I was told it was a 25min wait. I put my name down and came back 20min later. After a 2min wait, I was brought back for my pedicure ($22). I'll definitely be back. read more

Gladys and her staff do amazing work! Their SNS manicures are the best around (with a multitude of color options). Everyone is kind and welcoming and the shop is always full of laughter. It was busy time I visited so I would advise making an appointment, although they do accommodate walk-ins if possible. I see many loyal regulars and a diverse crowd of men and women frequent the shop so that seems to be a testament to their incredible work. read more

I went into Glady's for my 3rd time since new ownership. The first two times I was not impressed and ended up going to Indulgence after the second subpar pedicure. But, after paying nearly double for a worse pedicure at Indulgence I decided to go to Glady's since it's across the street from my apartment and the staff is sweet. I am so glad I did! This was one of the best pedicures I've ever had. I got the $50 manicure and spa pedicure special with Emma as my technician. She was amazing! read more

My appointments started off great at first. But now my nails chip and break so easily even with gel polish AND the hard UV gel coating. I mean I'd get them done on a Thursday and by Friday they are chippy and broken on Saturday. I thought it was me until I found others who have had the same issue. Only two of the girls could ever do my correct shape without crooked nails. This nail took 2 days to break. read more

Glady's Nails - Broken nail after 2 days of getting it "fixed" - Nail Salons Near Me - South Orange, New Jersey

The physical service given is great, the way the speak the customers is unacceptable.

This nail salon was formerly gold finger nails and was acquired by one of the ladies working there. She clearly had a vision, the place has been totally redone with clean walls, no clutter, new pedicure and manicure stations. The Pedicure baths and massage chairs are the highlight! I also enjoyed the elegant lighting and pop music in the background. The real treat was the service and quality. I had a long regular pedicure and skipped the paint, she made sure to spend time making sure the nails looked great. My manicure came out perfect and looks like it was done at a top notch salon. I noticed she sealed my manicure in with a certain painting technique, gold finger never did that. Anyway, I'll be back! It's worth the $$. Go see these ladies! read more

I walked in after making an appointment earlier on the phone (for mani pedi), and was put in the first chair to start my fill and color change. The woman began smoothing and filing down my nails, and after three nails, stopped what she was doing and told me to go over to get my pedicure. So now half of one hand has filed nails, but I went over and she started the pedicure instead. Once I was finished, she directed me back to the first chair, where a new technician continued to smooth and file my nails. After maybe 10 minutes, she informs me I need to move over one chair to the right and a NEW technician would finish my nails. I played musical chairs and musical technicians for this was now the third employee to work on my nails. My nails are far from extravagant, so I can't imagine what the continual hand off was for. The last employee proceeded to paint the gel color I had asked for, but instead of doing two coats which is standard for gel, she did three. So of course, the NEXT morning, I already had chips on multiple fingers. I had read previous reviews that said when you go in with an issue they tend to charge you, so I waited a week and went back somewhere else for a new coat. I would just save your money and go somewhere else all together, the quality is not worth the money read more

Great pedicures, but my manicures never last more than a week when they do them. Not gel manicures or the UV tips despite being more expensive than average. Might as well go to a cheap salon since the result will be the same, but you're not being overcharged. read more

Excellent regular pedicure! Fabiola was extremely meticulous. Salon is very clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Only drawbacks are pedicure chairs don't have jets, drying stations are near drafty door, and metered parking. read more

This rating is for the nail technician that serviced me Lali although her work was okay her demeanor and customer service needs some much improvement . She rushed through my pedicure , once she was done she asked the owner who would be doing my manicure the owner asked her to , in which she responded in Spanish I don't want to thinking I did not understand. However everyone else was busy, she rushed through it too and I had to ask her three times to clean up her work . The owner seems to be quite the opposite as well as the other women who work there . The color selection is great and decor is very nice I would recommend the establishment just not that technician read more

super clean salon and incredibly friendly employees, but i have left unsatisfied twice. my sns powder manicure is falling apart after just a week and is lumpy, uneven, and already lifting at the cuticle. i've also had two pedicures where i left with dry skin on my feet still. if i'm in a bind and need to get a simple polish manicure or quick pedicure, i'll probably return. read more
