The technicians are amazing and Mr. King is the kindest owner ever. His wife is the WORST and she will OVERCHARGE you for anything she can get. My family of 6 were patrons for 4 years and we will never return again after she screamed at me in front of the entire salon when her husband and I agreed on pricing before he left the salon. I just moved from NY to NJ and I really didn't have grandiose expectations for how this appointment was going to go but I think that it went well. I got a gel mani-pedi, with blue French on my toes and I got a cute design on the nails. This design wasn't necessarily difficult but it could easily be "messed up" due to it having a lot of details (I added the inspo photo for reference). So I like them but I don't love them, which I kind of expected, only because from afar they look gorgeous but when you look closer the details look a little wonky. The nail tech, Vanessa, did a wonderful job with them with the skills she had and I applaud her for all that she did. She was trying her best and asked me for my opinion on them several times to make sure that they were coming out the way that I wanted. They are beautiful nonetheless. I think all or most of the technicians should learn different techniques for intricate styles, such as this, given if some or most of their customer population liked things like that. I also thought that the price was appropriate for how intricate they were ($60) but what threw me for a loop was how expensive my toes were for just a French ($55). But I'm still happy with how they turned out! Requested style: The style I requested was rather intricate in details and they did a very good job overall 4/5 stars (80% equivalent) :) Cleanliness: They were extremely clean with disinfected tools per customer and I even saw a customer ask if their tools were sterilized and if the pedicure bath was clean and fresh. The technician went out of their way to explain what they do and how they do it. Stylist: Vanessa was the technician who was doing my manicure and she was very sweet and courteous. I'm not sure of the name of the technician who did my toes but she was quiet, still sweet, and courteous though. read more

Once again Jenny the owner at Joy Nail wants to try to embarrass me while paying for my nails. And then try to say "I am angry today". I have been getting the same thing for the last couple of years with no problem...now she wants to charge me $50 instead of $45 for SNS, one minute it's because my natural nails are too long, the next minute it's because of the shape of my nails...I have attached images of my nails... and images of what long nails, coffin nails and other shapes look like in case Jenny is reading this a need some help with nail shapes and length...because I am tired of her trying to embarrass me and when I answer her am the one that's angry. I only continue to go to Joy Nail because I like the ladies there and they do a good job. My first time at this nail salon and it is my last. I had acrylic nails and I wanted a fill-in, repair of a broken nail, and manicure. Andrea and the owner bullied me into getting a gel manicure. $90 later and the nail broke again the next day. I was so turned off that I didn't even call. I've been getting manicures for over 30 years and this place was the worst I've ever experienced. No one, especially a customer, likes to be treated condescendingly. I've been coming to this salon for a few years already. I like them. I'm really surprised at the negative reviews. They do a very good job. The salon personnel is very friendly and I love this place. Genie, one of the owners, is pleasant and treats me and my daugher very well. They do good gel manicures and I have my favorites when getting a pedicure. Two of my favorite manicurist left the place. Hopefully their replacement does just as well. The place is clean and the owner is professional. Update: I still come to this salon, but I've noticed that the Owner nickels and dime. It's a turn off. The manicurist has said she gets greedy. I returned not long ago to get a gel manicure redone because it did not last. She tried telling me that its only good for two weeks. I said I understand that but it's only been 10 days and in the past, it has lasted three weeks. She wanted me to pay to redo but I threatened to take my business elsewhere. We agreed on $10. She gave me someone I never used before. The gel lasted, but when removed, my nails were ruined, that never happened before. I am now exploring other options as far as nail salons. I've gotten light pink manicures and pedicures at several other salons. However this salon always has the polish too thin even with 2 coats (and sns for a manicure) where it's so sheer you can see your nail underneath the polish. For a pedicure a few months ago and today with my manicure. They also use the same unclean tools on all of the clients, despite being put into unlit LED lamps and that's something I can't accept. On sundays they apparently are "under staffed" according to the flyers on the wall and my manicure cost an extra $5 FOR NO REASON. I've heard of salons giving discounts during select weekdays, but never salons charging more than the service menu list because it's a busy day of the week, just hire another few people and boom problem solved. No other business practice this and I felt like I was scammed. It's not the customers fault you're busy, you're just greedy for money. If I'm already sitting at the table getting my nails done I feel lied to about the service since it's nothing different than the other days. Not clean, not welcoming and not a good manicure. Went here on a whim, did not inquire about price over the phone. An acrylic full set with no design or shape was $75. Nails were different lengths and shapes and after only two weeks started coming off. Service was good, I wouldn't care about price but I never have longevity problems anywhere else. read more

There seems to be room for improvement for communications between the technicians and the gentleman manning the phones and front desk. Generally, we were very happy with the services received (pedicure and acrylics with gel manicure) and the technicians themselves were very polite and skilled. Went today to get the powder dip gel. I picked out a red color and when she brought the dip over it looked highlighter pink. She assured me that it would look like the sample when it went on my nails. Sure enough, when my nails are done it looks absolutely nothing like the color I actually picked. Terrible experience. I made an appt Monday afternoon for that Friday for my daughter and I to get mani/pedis. I get there they didn't allow us to sit together. Common sense if I make an appt for 2 people it should be assumed we would like to sit together. They took my daughter for a manicure while I got a pedicure. The chair next to me was empty. I asked if we can sit together they said no. Seriously? No? Then a random person walks in and they seat her next to me for a pedicure. The quality of my daughters manicure was terrible. I made them do a few nails over. The pedicure was bad as well. 3 different people did my daughter's pedicure. I didn't have time to have them redo that too. I came in with my friends to get acrylics and a pedicure for my semi formal. They came out perfect but for some reason when I woke up the next day they were gooey and had so many air bubbles and did not look appealing at all. That same day I went back to get them fixed and I was very pleased. (The picture of the gooey nails were of the next day when they were messed up.) Me and my daughter were regular customers for pedicure for years then pandemics hit we went to the salon for pedicures me and my daughter 4 months ago,normally they charged $25 dollar for regular pedi and understandable with pandemic they were closed for a while but to charge almost triple the amount is outrageous we were charged $70 each unheard of and they were understaffed and the service was rushed...that's greed to a whole different level.....will never step foot in that salon ever again read more

This was one of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. I went in with 3 friends for a mani/pedi, both of which were finished within 15 minutes. My nails were painted over particles leaving bumps in the finished look. I asked for it to be fixed and I was questioned as to why because they couldn't see the problem. Frustration distracted me from viewing the overall finished product. After walking outside I took another look to see what I had paid for. My nails looked like they had been done by a young child. All members in my party left feeling the exact same way (except some of them had a tiny rub while waiting for their nails to dry, those who needed repair were neglected in that department).
