UPDATE- Aug 2018 Decided to give it one more shot, and thankfully things went great. Opted for a mani/pedi. Both turned out perfect. Only thing that they can do to step up the game is offering more nail art options. There's so much you can do with dip powders that they just don't seem to offer. I'd love to change it up from just plain color sometimes! July 2018 Such a huge disappointment! I've been coming here for a few years, it's close and convenient. The work is usually good but this last time was an absolute disaster. I came in disclosing that I only had about an hour and wanted to know if they could do a dip powder manicure in that time. I was totally okay booking for another day and coming back. I'd rather wait and get quality work than get squeezed in and get scratched cuticles and lumpy nails. Multiple people assured me they could do it. They sped up the removal with hot towels, everything seemed fine. I was comfortable at that point. It was the application and finishing that was horrible. The nails look so rushed and shoddy, they cut corners everywhere. My nails aren't even, some being square some having rounded edges. The coverage is uneven as well. They did no shaping after the dip to get a smooth finish. And the edges around the cuticles are horrendous. My thumb cuticle has a cut now because it was stuck to the dip powder on my nail and they didn't fix it at the time. Definitely won't be returning. It's a new management there. It appears that the ladies that do the nails run the store and run the Owner. It's not what it used to be according to friends. I stopped recommending this place to friends because people with darker skin is not welcome in there. They seem to cater to a certain race. Nothing about this place gives you a spa feel. They run this shop like a factory! There are lots of employees moving about, lots of loud talking, areas could be cleaner, and way too many stations for such a small space! I used to go to the salon years ago but stopped because of distance. I decided to give them another try and my experience here was much different than before. I had a 10am appointment and the nail tech arrived about 10 minutes late. It took her about 50 minutes to do SNS dip powder on my nails, which included soaking off the old set. She did a good job but I didn't get any TLC at all. I was never sent to wash my hands, the wet towel used to clean my hands was cold, she didn't clean the excess powder from around nails or under my fingers. Like I said - they run it like a factory. My nails came out nice and I'm on week 3 with no chips or breaks. This salon is a little cheaper than the rest so I guess that's why they don't go above and beyond. They take cash and all major credit cards. The salon is apart of a shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking around. I suggest making an appointment because it's very busy! read more

My partner and I popped in to Pretty Nails on a cold weekday morning--we were able to get an appointment over the phone easily. Located inside the Parsippany Shoprite strip mall, it was very easy to find parking. The salon isn't huge, but has the basics to provide whatever you're looking for. Our pedis were the standard $25 each and I think they did a decent job on our tootsies. Considering how convenient the location is, I would probably return. read more

I am a huge fan of this place. I thought the nail place by my house was the one for me but after a while I kept seeing little mistakes here and there. I am happy to move onto better things which is this nail salon. Great location for me since it's on my way home from work. The review on here had me on my toes but I have not yet received nothing but the best from this place. I've been here now about 6-7 times and been happy with the result for each one. I normally get gel manicure here. Only got the pedicure once. The gel they have here lasts a full two weeks which is shocking since I am really rough with my hands and nails. They apply enough polish to make the nail strong. My nails chip and break for any little thing, but with this gel they actually stay in tact. They have so many nice colors also! Another plus here is that they use a disposable plastic liner for the pedicure stations which is so sanitary ! First time ever seeing that. I just recently got the uv gel tips which so far are wonderful. It's been two weeks and they have not chipped or lost color yet. The service is great. Always greeted with a Hello. Pretty nails is s great place with talented employees, they bring personality to this nail salon. It's always a pleasure to walk in. You get s sense that they really remember what you like and how you like it. Nothing is lost in translation like many other salons. My nails always looks amazing for a good two to three weeks depending on my abuse on my nails during work. It's easy maintaining pretty nails in my line of work. They go through extreme abuse. If I could give 0 stars I would. The woman that did my manicure and pedicure was the worst manicurist I've ever had take care of me. It was a DISPLEASURE. she messed up my gel manicure, cutting my cuticles unevenly, she made me bleed throughout the process, I have so many nicks and cuts, and when I asked her to fix it, she got aggressive and pulled and squeezed my hand every which way possible to show her discontent. I'm sorry I hurt your feeble feelings, you CAUSED ME PHYSICAL PAIN. she even proceeded to peel my hang nail... NO. NO. NO. A woman named Alyssa tried to help afterwards to remedy the issue- but it was a lost cause. Never EVER COMING BACK. Now onto my pedicure. SAME WOMAN. She nicked my big toe so deep I screamed out REALLY LOUD. and she was like, "oh big cuticles." NO YOU IDIOT, you cut a chunk of my skin off. Okay so fine, she made the same mistake-- BIG surprise. She then proceeded to use a USED AND JANKY LOOKING RAZOR TO SHAVE MY TOE BEARD WITHOUT ASKING. AND SHE NICKED MY FOOT. I needed to go for a wax later. She completely ruined it for me and now I have cuts all over my hands and feet, and a potential infection coming on. THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING. Came here on June 8th to get my nails done with Vanessa. First I showed her a design where all 10 nails had a design on them and she quoted me $63 dollars for them. After completing my nails she said the price was $68. It's just $5 and I don't mind but I also only ended up getting only 4 nails with a design. On top of that she ended up rushing towards the end so I had to stay back and speak with one of the owners since a part of my nail was missing the clear coat. Also realized that she put the sticker for my right hand on the wrong way. Apparently it's how some people prefer it and that's why she did it but she didn't ask me plus it looked off when comparing it to the other hand. So today on June 9th I went back to get them fixed. They offered to fix the ruined nails for free however, they didn't have matching stickers so I asked if they could change the other hand too to match. They told me I'd have to pay 10$. Even after going back to get them fixed Vanessa still messed them up. She was frustrated and annoyed and the way she applied them smudged the entire design. I will not be coming back or recommending this place to others. First and last time giving them my business. read more

I decided to try this place out after finding it on yelp. I came in early Monday morning and was taken right away. Jessica was so sweet and welcoming to a new customer. She did a great job on my nails, although at times she was a little rough with them and hurt my fingers and cuticles. She did an awesome job shaping my nails and talking to me about what I wanted. I'm taking away two stars only because I didn't feel like the salon was extremely clean. A lot of the equipment was old and kinda dirty. Are these reviews a joke? I was quite excited to try this place for gel manicure with all the good reviews. But my technician was very sloppy and he had the dryest roughest hands ever. Not to mention he has bandaids on his fingers which i really think it got in the way of the work. I'm a bit annoyed at the result- it's extremely thick and the edges are already peeling and so sloppy. I only get my nails done on special occasions and i'm not hard to please- but lets be real. This is very bad and unsatisfying. The people were friendly so feel bad for leaving a negative review but definitely do not recommend. read more

I just received a call from the owner stating I had an appointment scheduled. I explained my appointment was for Friday, not today. She said Yolanda was booked on Friday. I explained my appointment was made over a month ago. She explained it appeared as though the guy (who happens to be the OWNER) who made my appointment "accidentally" penciled me in for the wrong date. How is this my fault?!?! I told her I took the day off from work and that was the only day I was available, hence the reason I made the appointment A MONTH IN ADVANCE. She pretty much told me there was nothing she could do for me. Sad to say the least! I will no longer come to this establishment. Disgusted with their lack of customer service for loyal customers. I had my nails done a week before Murphy ordered the shut down. I have to say.... my nails are still going pretty strong and well. I had to file them down because they were getting too long but i love how they are still holding up. No cracking, peeling, or breaking. Claudia took her time, shaped them to my desire and even fixed a broken nail without completely cutting my nail down!! Two weeks later and I decided to get a full set. I've been here a couple times before and the experience was good. I knew I was gonna be in the area so I was excited to come back. I made an appointment over a week ago for a gel set and a pedicure. I requested a specific technician. When I got there they said I only made an appointment for a pedicure. Either way, they squeezed me. It was not a relaxing experience at all because as I was sitting in the pedicure chair, they started my new set (which is probably why some of the nails are crooked). When I got to the manicure chair, the technician continued my nails but during my nail her appointment showed up. I know she felt rushed because it shows in her work and it's not her work. It's managements fault for double booking appointments. The manager tried to cover it up by saying my nail appointment was at 12 but if that was the case they wouldn't have started my nail in the pedicure chair at 11:15. I never received an apology and my nails are an eye sore. I paid almost $100, the least they could've done was apologize and own up to their mistake. read more
