I have been a patient at Livermore Optometry for 15+ years. In the past couple years the service has dropped to an all time low. I don't mind a busy day here and there but waiting an 1:10 minutes with no site of even being put in a room is beyond acceptable. As I sat in the reception area I checked yelp and low and behold the theme is right there staring me in the face!!! Along with the 4$$$$.. Really? How dumb am I for not checking before. So I call Acuvision which has 5 stars and wow - they got me in for the very next day. When I pointed out to the receptionist at Livermore Optometrist that I was leaving because of yelp and because I had been sitting there for 1:10 minutes, she said, I'm really sorry! He encourages the Optimap, which I choose to do because it gives a lasting image that the doctor can compare from year to year. Great place but wait is tooooo long. I won't have an appointment at like four and then I would have to wait almost 45 minutes until I was seen then after I did polemic area check up I had to wait like another 20 to 40 minutes until I actually saw the doctor. read more

I've been looking for the past 5 years for an optometrist that I can stay with for a long time. In my community many people referred me here. My daughter and I had an appointment and we were seen within 5 minutes. Dr Faith was very thorough and answered all of my questions and explained what was going on with me and my daughters vision. Ashley was very professional. She took the time to explain out benefits and how they were applied and she helped us pick out our glasses and made an appointment with me the next day to bring in my glasses to make sure they lenses I didn't like wasn't going to be ordered again. We have been going to Dr. Faith for 12 years now. My daughter needed glasses when she was 6 months old. If she was not cared for she would have had to have 2-3 operations on her eyes. It wa important to see the very best Dr. I asked my daughter's specialist who was the best for us to see in Livermore (we were in seeing a specialist in Oakland) and he said Dr. Faith was the best for children with the extreme lazy eye problems. Almost every parent I know in Livermore who has a child with the same problem goes to Dr. Faith. Well, my daughter is now almost 16 and has never had to have even one operation on her eyes. Dr. Faith has been the best. He plays with the kids, does magic tricks, and gives them a coupon for ice cream. Her eyes have improved so much. She will always have to use glasses but at least she doesn't have to worry about surgery. Oh, and by the way, he is also my eye Dr. and he is even good with adults. The office staff is also outstanding! They have their glasses area set up near the waiting room. So if you know you are going to need glasses, they allow you to open drawers and look at all the glasses. They will put them aside if you think you might like them. I put about 10 frames I am thinking about and they don't even mind if I do this. When it is you time to sit down for selecting your frames, the look at your choices and grab more that they think you might like. Tammy is the best but they are all good! They help with insurance issues. My daughter is a swimmer so we get her prescription goggles. Tammy is working hard with us to make sure our insurance will cover it. They go above and beyound what is expected of them! This place is AWESOME! I only wish they gave the adults free icecream coupons. LOL!!! read more

I had a horrible experience there. I am giving it only one star because just getting my daughters glasses was fine, and the selection was great. The Optometrist we saw gave me completely false medical information and told me daughter could have "lesions on the brain" because her optic nerves were shaped differently. (which by the way I confirmed with the opthomologist that it is normal.) She told me this with no further information. Be careful. read more

Our family has being seeing Dr. Faith for many, many years. Besides being friendly he provides thorough explanations of the exam; what he is looking for and what he sees in your exam. The staff is upfront explaining any additional costs our insurance does not cover. I have found the sales staff to be knowledgeable and very helpful choosing flattering frames; again pointing out any additional costs our insurance does not cover. The only negative is wait time to see the doctor. I waited 25 minutes for him this last visit; too long. This is a scheduling issue and they need to really evaluate how long patients wait each day and then make the necessary adjustments to the scheduling process. read more

I've been going here since I was still in High School, but I'm afraid I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Came in to get my prescription updated and to get a new pair of glasses for the first time in three years, first time since I haven't been covered by a parents' vision insurance or paycheck, so I made it clear that I was on a budget. After spending an extra 15 minutes convincing them I didn't need any extra tests, finally got to get my eyes checked. Upon meeting with their sales rep, who tried very hard to con me into getting the most expensive lenses money can buy (unsuccessfully), he went to get some frames that were similar to the set I was wearing. He grabbed the two most expensive frames in the joint and promised me these were the only two even remotely similar to what I had on. I picked the cheaper of the two, he wrote me up, as I Was telling him that I would not be able to afford these at the moment. He said fine, they won't process my order until I come back and settle up. Of course a week later I get a call saying my glasses are in and I'm on the hook for another $200 that isn't in the budget. Called in to raise some hell, which was when I found out not only did they admit they processed my order when they weren't supposed to, but they had cheaper frames as well. Stay away, made me feel like I was at a sketchy used car lot, not an optometrist. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Do NOT use! They broke my glasses & would NOT replace them with the same brand name. I kept going back wasting my time & gas, then they finally told me me they couldn't do anything for me. I didn't even ask them to adjust them in the first place, I was just picking a new expensive frame out, so they shouldn't have gotten broken in the first place. When she came back to me & said she broke them, she said don't worry we'll take care of it...I believed her & wasn't upset at all. HA! After much stress, time & gas wasted this is the least I can do to help others! If possible I would not even give them a star. I have been going here for years and the experience has always been great, this time around.. not so much. I had an appointment back in January (its now August..) I have been wearing glasses since I was 11, gave contacts a shot back in high school but was too short tempered to use them. I decided to give it a second shot. I asked to get contacts this year instead of glasses. I finished my exam and they made me set an appointment for contact fitting; which is not covered by my insurance. They had already billed my insurance for my contacts at this point. I get to the fitting appointment and I do perfectly fine putting the contacts in my eyes. I have acrylic nails so when they asked me to use the slide out the contact technique i was struggling and scratching my eye. I had informed them i always used the pinch technique and they said not to do that and i had to learn the slide technique and get my nails taken off to receive my prescription. UHM EXCUSE ME???????! YOU ALREADY CHARGED MY INSURANCE....????? And here I am in August, no new glasses, no contacts. Stuck with my scratched old frames. Screw you Livermore Optometry Group, you lost a client and trust me i will never live this down and will forever give you bad reviews and tell everyone i know to steer clear of this place. read more

I've been coming to Livermore Optometry for 15 years and would definitely recommend them, especially Dr Faith. The girls up front are nice, but always seem busy and rushed. They are also very good about getting you in for an appointment promptly. They do get an A+ in emergencies. When I was 16, I was visiting a cousin in rural Vermont and lost a contact. They had a pharmacy contacted and prescription filled by the end of the day! Granted, that was 12 years ago, but I'm sure they'd do it again. Today I ripped my last contact and was overdue for my yearly exam. They got me a fresh contact within 5 minutes, and an appointment with Dr Faith by the end of the day. Now that's service! When I got there, everyone was courteous and I did not feel as if I was being squeezed into their day. Dr Faith took time to answer all of my questions and go over my health history since last year. Unfortunately I have to give this Optometry office only two stars. My entire family, plus many relatives, have been going here for about 20 years. We've gone from one insurance plan to another & back again and I actually went elsewhere a couple of years because they wouldn't bill unless you had VSP. Other offices in town were happy to. Also, when I went this last time for my new glasses I checked in about 5 mins before my appt time. As I was just about done being check in, a good 10 mins later, a man came up to another desk person and told her he was here for an appt 15 minutes later than mine. I was seated and watched him come to sit about 5 minutes later. To my surprise he was called immediately in to have his preliminary testing before you actually go into the office. I asked why he was brought in first when I was here first, plus my appt was 15 minutes before his. Rather than have him wait, since he had literally just walked thru the door when I asked, the girl asked another girl, who asked another one, etc... until several minutes were passed and it was too late to change anything. Plus they made all kinds of disgusted faces to one another as if I couldn't see them! It was really weird. Then after I saw Dr. Faith (who I can't say anything bad about, in fact really like him a lot) but he called in the tech, Kimmy. He introduced me to her and was talking to her about me and she never once even looked at me. Not even a glance. Then as he sent me off with her, first thing she said was something about me being in a huge hurry per some notes someone wrote on my file today. Didn't feel need to explain anything to her. Also, she wasn't helpful when I said I didn't want to spend over a certain amount on frames. She's not the only one, but it's happened before where they act like you're being cheap if you don't want to spend over your covered amount. I'm thinking Costco sounds pretty good about now..P.S. I should mention that Sharon at the front desk is always very pleasant and very helpful. read more
