Really struggling with this review. I used to LOVE Imagine, and always loved how attentive and thorough they were. Unfortunately when I needed my rx for some lenses and needed assistance, they were unresponsive, said they would call me back, and never followed up. I believe that being reliable as one of the most important facets of a business, and they faltered. There is also a limited amount of frames and I never find anything that appeals to me so I just order contacts every year. I even drive out to see them as I don't live in Dublin currently, that's how dedicated I was to Imagine. Unfortunately for this year's eye exam I will be contacting another business and moving elsewhere. I made an appointment but clerk called me and asked me to change my appointment. I said OK but soon, I realized I have another appointment coming. I called back right after their call. I asked to change my appoint and then they asked me to pay $25. It is insane. Also, one year ago, my glasses were loosing bolts and asked the me fix and they asked me again to pay $25. Dr. Tian is great. Exam process is thorough and detailed. I would recommend people to come to IMAGINE for an exam any time. Disappointed with ordering prescription glasses here though. The transition lens coating was missing and it felt like the staff wanted me to take it as-is and disguised the situation as "come in and try out the frames" as there really wasn't much focus on the frame fit. Declined and chose to wait for the fix. When trying to pick it up recently, I was informed there was a power outage and the pick-up appointment might need to be rescheduled, but will give me an update if that's the case since they expect power to come back on by my appointment. It's fine as these things happen. I was waiting to hear back on any updates. Drove an hour to the office since I haven't received any updates and did not want to miss the appointment time (Previous text message notifications like to mention a $25 fee if I don't show up or cancel with at least 24 hours notice). Got there and I received a call that the appointment will be need to be rescheduled. About an 18 minute notice from the appointment time. Will come back again for future exams, but will reconsider purchasing glasses here. It's not a huge deal to me to see delays or corrections to the order, but I'm disappointed in poor communication and getting misled into driving in twice for no good reason. Just commit to fixing the glasses to what was ordered and reschedule early on. read more

This is my second time having my annual eye checkup done by optometrist, Dr. Tian. My experience with Dr. Tian has been overall positive. She's professional and friendly. To me, based on my 2 visits, she takes her craft seriously and cares about her patients' well-being. I also want to give recognition to Katy, who is the Office Manager. I shared a concern my wife and I had regarding the cost of eye products we paid for because they were higher than what we paid for last year. Specifically, we were astonished at the price of the contact lenses we paid for this time around (I had my invoice from last year to compare). Katy demonstrated excellent customer service by explaining the reason for the price increase, empathizing with us and acknowledging our personal situation. Long story short, Katy researched possible options and followed up with me with a reasonable and fair resolution. I truly appreciate Katy's sense of urgency, ability and willingness to ensure we're taken cared of as their patients. Made the whole process of getting my first set of glasses a breeze, I can finally see in what I call Ultra HD, before my vision was like 720 resolution but with these glasses I can now see in 8k Ultra High HD Resolution All the folks working here are very friendly and give great options and suggestions. Extremely horrible experience. They messed up my eyewear order. Firstly they took over 6 weeks to work on the order, when the average time is 2-3 weeks. They had no courtesy to inform me of the delay. I had to follow up multiple times. They do not even have the ability to quote a specific delivery date. When the glasses finally arrived, they were defective with the frame broken. They even made one attempt to convince me to take the defective piece, but I pushed back. Then they tried to fix the issue but the lab failed to do it. Even after all this, they still refuse to refund the full amount to me. I suggest nobody buy eyewear from this place unless you want to go through a hellish customer service experience. They are fraudulent people. I don't understand how these people are in a customer facing business. If Google gave me an option, I would give a negative rating. read more

I've heard great things about this place so I decided to go in for a vision and contact lens exam. I booked an appointment through the phone 2 weeks in advance and the process was very easy. I have VSP insurance and my copayment was as expected for this visit. My appointment took about 35 minutes total. Dr. Truong was super nice, honest, and knowledgeable. As I was searching for a new optometrist in the area, the 5 stars from IMAGINE caught my eye instantly -- and with safety as my #1 priority during COVID, I was so impressed with all of their safety precautions. - I received text reminders leading up to my appointment (super helpful btw!), but most importantly I was asked the day before my appointment regarding possible symptoms/exposure. - Once I stepped in the office, I was asked to use hand sanitizer and had my temperature taken. - Everything I touched, from pens to frames I tried on, were deeply sanitized. The exam itself was very thorough, and I felt comfortable the entire time I was there. So sad. I had an exam with this optometry office (Dr Tian) which was fine back in Feb. I opted to get my prescription filled later. Today, I called today to make an appointment to bring in my frames to have my prescription filled. Because I didn't purchase the frames at this office, I cannot have my prescription filled there. I was told to go elsewhere and figure it out. My wife had her new lenses fitted to frames she didn't purchase there not more than couple of months ago, April. I was reassured then it was not a problem to do the same. Considering the cost of frames and lenses, not reusing a perfectly good set of frames is just wasteful, our planet suffers, it's just sad. read more

I came here for the first time recently, in part due to the positive reviews on Yelp. My eye exam was fine. The staff working in the front office was another story, however. They were apathetic and unprofessional and I won't be returning to their practice as a result. I booked an appointment to come in and select frames for my new prescription and I arrived on time. I went to the front desk to check in for my appointment and another family with a bunch of little kids in tow arrived a few minutes after I did. The reception asked them if they had an appointment and they said no. The staff then proceeded to leave me waiting while they helped the walk-in family with the unruly children. I reminded them that I had an appointment and they told me they would be with me "shortly". I was made to wait for :30 min while they helped the customer that didn't have an appointment. The staff let the kids run screaming all over the place and get everything sticky while I sat there and waited. When I went to pick up my glasses the staff could not have been more disinterested. They literally just handed my glasses to me and said "here". There was no effort to see if they fit me properly or if I needed any adjustments. I left and went to run some errands and it soon became apparent that the new frames needed to be tweaked. I had to go back and request that they adjust them to fit me properly and they acted like it was a huge inconvenience. So sorry I took you away from scrolling on your phone! read more

They broke my frame and they said they are not taking any responsibility because I signed a waiver. They blamed the crack on the frame. However, when I handed the frame over to them, they didn't point out the crack, if they do, I will reconsider the situation, but since they did not point the crack out, I assumed the frame was in good condition without crack. And now the frame is broken and the customers need to pay the price for the fault of either the optometrist/technician or the frame. That says, the waiver grants "IMAGINE OPTOMETRY" the right to break the frame without taking any responsibility even if it's their fault. read more

I visited Imagine Optometry for my yearly check up and had another great experience! The front staff is so helpful and polite and Dr. Truong is still the most thorough optometrist I've known. Did you know September to October is a great time to use your Vision benefits? It's much easier to get an appointment during this time rather than waiting until the end of the year when people rush to use their benefits. I also don't schedule my appointments on Saturdays because that is usually the busiest day. It was easy for me to get an afternoon appointment during the same week I called in. I still appreciate how clean this office is. Dr. Truong cleaned all of the equipment during my appointment. All of the staff wears masks. It's easy to find what you want whether that's a new pair of glasses or contacts that are comfortable to wear all day. I highly recommend this office. read more

I go here to get my glasses adjusted, they r slipping down my nose and because of that, I can't see. Very helpful gals, ask what I'm there for and tell me, since I haven't bought'em there, they could break and was I ready for that? Yes! I say. Ok, so, the glasses are plastic (most r these days) and with a little heat treatment they become malleable and you can mould them. Most places do this for FREE!! Not this one (they r now so tight, they hurt), I was charged 20$, for not being a patient there. Will I return to this store, with this type of 'nickel and dime' attitude? I'm afraid I will be docked another 20$. I used to come here for eye exams and glasses. Now I decided not to come back anymore. Their new front desk staff is rude and disorganized. My kid broke my glasses and I needed a new pair. The staff booked an appointment for me, I drove 40 minutes to get here, only to find out I needed to wait another month for insurance to kick in. Why did the staff not tell me upfront? I waited, had the staff book another appointment, and came for the second time, only to be told that I should have booked an eye exam appointment. Well, was that something the staff should have discussed with me, told me, and booked me for? The staff blamed me while I was struggling with a broken pair of glasses. Everything from the layout of how the glasses are organized to the light fixtures and the furniture. Even the website is mobile friendly! 2) The selection frames were great for my wife and I. My wife ended up getting two pairs of glasses and got these cool ic! berlin glasses - super hip and trendy. Mary, Dr. Truong's, wife helped up narrow down our options and let us know our benefits in full detail. She really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our selection. 3) Also, the reviews were amazing - all 5 stars?! I couldn't believe but they are all true, every single one of them. Coming here now and experiencing the customer service I received with the attention to detail is way better than the rest of the offices we've ever been to. One thing to add is that no one ever recommended the type of lenses that Dr. Truong suggested to me. I'm a graphic designer and I'm on the computer all day. Love this place. I've been twice. The first time, I thought I needed glasses and the optometrist said he didn't think that I did. Now he says I do need them, but gave me the Rx and said I could get them anywhere. Point is, he is NOT trying to upsell you on anything, and he's very honest. Ok I don't usually write bad reviews but I had the WORST doctor visit experience here. I've been to several optometrists in the last twenty years and this was by far the most confusing and unpleasant place. The office wasn't even open in time for my appointment, the doctor arrived late, and the actual exam process was sooooooo awful I wanted to run away. Dr. Truong was rude and condescending and outright bullying me for not knowing exactly what my current lens prescription was. "You don't KNOW?? Well I can't update your prescription if you don't know. Oh you think it's 4.5? POSITIVE 4.5? Oh you mean NEGATIVE 4.5. OH you're wearing them NOW?? Well THAT explains things. You have to come back for the prescription. Well I CAN write you a new one..." Seriously??? Even if I don't remember my current one, why is it so hard to write a new prescription? What does he do with first time lens wearers? It's not like I had some unique needs. While I had my contacts out, he holds up my insurance forms and starts going through it, pointing at various parts. I told him I couldn't see anything (duh?). As soon as I stand up to go to the sink area to put my lenses back in, he starts going through the forms again, literally talking to the back of my head. I ask him to please hang on a minute so I can see. My god. There are other horrible parts of the exam I can describe but I think this is enough to paint the picture. How does this place have five stars? Are they all acquaintances? Did he just have something against me? Never ever ever going back. I'm even considering going to another optometrist to redo my exam even if it means I have to pay because I don't trust this doctor. read more

Here are the things I appreciated: Ease of scheduling/communication: Reaching out to a new office as a new patient and getting an appointment scheduled can sometimes be challenging. This was NOT the case with IMAGINE Optometry. I really appreciated them reaching out via text, and being quick and clear to respond on availability and needs to get me scheduled for my exam. Check-In: Was perfect. Hardly waited at all. The office was clean and there weren't other patients waiting in the sitting area. Dr. Truong: The doctor was fantastic in terms of the examination and small talk. I appreciated his approach on how to take over prescription recommendations for me (since I was a new patient).
