Today 8/2 /25 I called to ask about sunglasses with reading power ," the Maui Jim I wanted to order from MauiJim.com has a reading power from 1.5, 2.0 and up to 4.0, unfortunately , my reading power based on my prescription from Golden Vision was +1.75 for sunglasses, so which power will I pick +1.5 or +2.0 . But no one helped me or answered my question, they're switched from one to others ( at least 4 pp), And also asked " Are u speak Chinese!!! Their dismissive and condescending attitude, paired with a complete lack of professionalism, was shocking. It's incredibly rude to treat customers this way. I love this place! They always have such nice customer service, that even though my insurance is now out of network with their office, I still continue to see them. 4 stars for my initial visit in 2022. I had my eye exam with Dr Lau to get new prescriptions for both eyeglasses and contact lens. The exams were pretty standard. Dr Lau suggested a new brand of contact lens for me to switch to and they were comfortable and fitted well. A nice lady(I think it's Wendy, the manager) assisted me with picking out a new frame, lens, ordering contact lens etc. She was attentive and patient. I was happy with my experience. 0 star for the lady I encountered when I returned a few months ago wanting to have my glasses adjusted as they kept sliding off. Upon entering, the lady who sat by the door(she seemed to be sorting orders at the time) completely ignored me and did not provide any greetings. I took the initiative and asked whether I could have someone help me adjust my glasses. She gave me a dirty look and spoke in a very unfriendly tune questioning whether I bought my glasses at their store. I said yes I got my glasses here. She continued to look annoyed and reluctantly took my glasses for adjustment. She never took a look at how the glasses were sitting on my face or tried to see how they should be adjusted. She simply took the glasses and walked away. She returned a few minutes later and handed me back the glasses and then simply walked away without saying anything or waited for me to try them on to see they fit. Since she never tried the glasses on me before and after doing any adjustment, the glasses did not fit and kept on sliding down my nose like before. As she had such bad attitude and service, showing that she's unwilling to help me get my glasses adjusted, I figured it would be pointless to ask her to readjust so I just left. I simply do not understand what I did to cause her to behave in such a hostile way. Even though she had such a bad attitude, I was polite throughout. If she had looked up the records, I spent well over $1000 at the shop. Her behavior is simply unacceptable. She is a liability to the store, dragging down the rest of the team who provide great service. read more

Depends on which doctor you see here if you will get good results. The woman doctor is the absolute best at helping with glasses and contacts for those with bad eyesight like me. She listened to my issues and took the time to problem solve. She is probably the best eye doctor I have seen in the past 40 years of bad eyesight. Unfortunately I recently had to see one of the male doctors and had an opposite experience. The pair of lenses that he produced were super fuzzy for anything closer than 10 feet. They re-did the lenses and they still had the same issue. Although they are a little better I cannot see anything clearly that is closer than 5 feet away. If I want to see anything within 3 -5 feet of me I have to take off my glasses EVERY TIME which is a humongous pain. Plus they trigger my migraine headaches. read more

They are already charging close to thousand dollars to renew Orto-K lenses every year, just found out they will now impose an extra charge of around $150 for writing atropine prescription that goes with these lenses. First time I am seeing doctors charging extra money if you want them to write the prescription for the condition they are treating. Seems highly unethical, I will be searching for a new eye clinic for Ortho-K, you do the same if you want to save your money. read more

I was very happy with the service last year especially the knowledge and skill set of the lady Lu Fung. That's why I decide to go again. I went back for an exam and new pair of glasses this week. I was disappointed with the Dr. Lao who performed the exam. He spent very little time to look into my eye with light and do enough regular testing. Most of the exam takes at least 20 minutes but he rushed to finish in half of the time. I almost feel he is still under internship or something. Anyway, don't feel the exam is good enough. read more

I don't know why I never wrote a review for this place until now. I've been coming here for somewhere around 10+ years. Initially it was just me but now my mom, my husband and all 3 of my kids are patients/clients and we would never imagine going anywhere else! In all the years, they've had many changes in staff, but 2 people have always remained, Dr. Dang and Wendy. Everyone we've encountered has always been great but Dr. Dang and Wendy are exceptional. Dr. Dang is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She's kind and shows that she sincerely cares. As for Wendy, I honestly have no idea how anyone would have a negative review about her. She is also incredibly patient, and throughly explains everything and caters options that best meet different individuals' needs, from young to old, insured, uninsured, she will find something for everyone. She's also multi-lingual! Now for the facilities. They are extremely organized and during this pandemic, they take sanitation and safety very seriously. They thoroughly clean between patients and take all the safety precautions. They have many different equipment that provide difference level of services but never do they ever push you to buy/try anything you don't want. They inform you of the different services and their benefits, but if you say no, they don't push any further. Another huge plus is in my case they have services specifically catered to children. To help provide kids support for their existing visual needs but they also offer services to slow down the progression through Orthokeratology. Now for their selection!! My goodness, they have soooooo much!!! So many different brands, from the high-end to the good quality affordables, they have it all. Also if you're Asian and have a low bridge, they have glasses that are catered to Asians to prevent the annoying need to push up your glasses. They've also got a vast amount of contact lens options and they're very knowledgeable in the different options and provide recommendations. They've even got many sunglasses options!! The final Plus?? They have late in the day appointments!! Who doesn't love not needing to take time out of work to go to an appointment. They are so accommodating with scheduling! read more

Wonderful experience with Golden Optical! I scratched my glasses lens. I did not need a prescription change, but wanted to update the frame I have been wearing for 8 years. My frames are Chanel, and look and function exactly the same as the first day. Best quality frame I have ever owned. I wanted my new frames to be Chanel too. I did a bit of shopping and came to the conclusion there was noting that would replace this brand. I went on the Chanel website and decided on two potential styles. They are only available at certain Opticians. Golden Optical was the closest. I have VSP insurance, so I stopped in to try on. I looked best in a Rectangular design in a Pink Tortoise.... more Taupe than Pink. We were not able to figure out the Progressive Design I currently had, so I ordered the design that was recommended. I could not be happier. The frames look great, and the new Progressive design is clearer than the previous Kaiser design. I will definitely return to Golden Optical when the need arises. The waiting time to see the doctor was long with appointment (more than 30mins) for the past three visits in a row. Staff member were courteous but not a fan of the doctor. Very very bad service. First i was made to wait for a long time before anybody responded. Then when front desk person came and had some doubts, asked supervisor some questions, instead of answering me when i am standing right there, supervisor has to treat me like i was invisible. This is not how you treat your customers. And yeah the place is super small. Be prepared to play bumpy bumpy. Disappointingly small collection of frames on display. There are other better shops in 2 miles radius of this shop. Do your selves favor by going there instead of this shop and avoid trouble. read more

This is my 3rd year with Golden Dublin Optometry and since we only go once every year, all I can say is that Staff member were courteous but not a fan of the doctors. Twice, for the last 2 years we've been visiting, they seem like they always have to rush giving you an exam after we waited for them like almost half an hour.
