My husband was dismissed by Kaiser and it really didn't sit well with us so we decided to make an appt to have his eye mapped/scanned here and see what was going on. They were awesome. Did the scan and found a retinal tear. Turns out doing that put the heat on Kaiser, he had to have a procedure that had he not would have permanently effected his vision. First time visit to this Optometry group based on 2 local recommendations. Wow, what an amazing staff! The front desk representatives were extremely friendly. Dr. Kurtz was amazing in how thorough she was explaining every detail of the process of my exam & subsequent tests including their benefits and what I could expect to feel during the process. She's clearly a master in her field but she's incredibly kind as well and I appreciate her patient chair side manner. The rest of the staff helped me select new glasses that worked for my face shape and size and even adjusted my current glasses for free. I was provided with multiple options for all different ranges of budget which I really appreciated because although they do have a very large selection of premium high end brands, they have some great budget choices on par with Costco. They were very attentive to my needs, preferences, and concerns in an extremely sincere way. The customer service here is fantastic and I never once felt like they were trying to upsell me in any way. It was a great first experience and I'll be transferring over to this office as a patient permanently! read more

I was going here for like five years and never once did I receive a pair of glasses that worked. I went someplace else and they told me that my readers were too strong and my distance was too weak. Also, if you're a Livermore lab employee they know certain options aren't covered and they really raise the price on those. I've had one or two nice people do the fittings and I've had some really nasty people do the fittings. It's disappointing don't recommend going here. read more

I've been going to Livermore Optometry Group since I moved here in May 2017 getting my annual eye exams and contact lens/prescription glasses. They accept VSP, so the first time I went to get my contact lens exam, I specifically chose the exam for colored contacts because that's what I wanted. I eventually picked the green contact lens after they were so nice to let me try the non-prescription colored lens on. The second time I came in, I got my lens exam with a co-pay. Then based on which frames they had, I asked them if they had additional colors I could choose from. They actually order online, so if there are frames that you like but in a different color, feel free to request it because they might have it! The turn around time for the frames were so fast too! I ordered it on Monday with a specialist at the office. By the next Wednesday (7 business days), they contacted me to let me know that I could pick up my glasses. When I went in, they fit it on me and gave me a little bag with lens solution and a little screwdriver for the glasses. For any of your eye needs, I recommend coming here! Exams are well conducted by their many doctors, service is top notch, and they have a huge assortment of various options for you when it comes to contact lens, glasses, and sunglasses. read more

I ve been going to this optometry for the past 2 years now. Have had three glasses made with them . I am very pleased with the most recent interaction I had with one of their associates . I walked in today with a broken set of glasses as my child had stepped over them . I had walked in with little hope that these can be salvaged . As expected it weren't salvageable . I explained the situation to the associate and she was very very helpful and said since I am a long standing customer and the glasses were in warranty they would be able to replace it for me. When I told her that the glasses would take time to come she was able to makey broken glasses temporarily taped so that I could use them at least till the new ones arrive . Of course I can't fold them and all but I am able to use and go on with my life . My right eye has a pretty big prescription so this came as a game changer for me . Before leaving I think asked her and said you made my day . The smile she had clearly made me believe how much it meant to her to make a difference in my life . Even though it's a small thing but I met someone after a long time who truly wanted to make someone happy by their actions . Went there with a concern that my one eye could no longer focus - Dr Swanihanna took time to look and diagnose dry eyes and gave me a plan to improve the condition. It's important to recognize improvements. I used to not be a big fan of this place. I found the staff working in the glasses area to be rude and unpleasant to work with. For my prior annual visit I was stuck there forever, over 2 hours. But, I really liked the doctor and thought the quality of actual medical care was high so I didn't change clinics. I was honestly dreading coming back for my annual today and was very pleasantly surprised. I was running late and the front desk was accommodating. The whole process was efficient and I received the same high quality of care. I was in and out in under an hour. Dr. Pham was my provider and I really liked him. Clear, personable, and thorough. I've been going here for years. Although the outcome is generally great, I always have to wait over 30 minutes from the time my appointment is scheduled until the doctor walks through the exam room door to start my exam. I asked about it this afternoon, and I was told they schedule 20 minutes for pre-tests that take 2 minutes. The other 15 minutes I generally wait is for an exam room to open up, which is frustrating since three people came in after me and were sent into those rooms before me. My time is more valuable than to wait for mismanaged scheduling. read more

Ordered safety glasses they said it should take 3 or 4 weeks. 5 weeks later I checked on them (because they don't pick up their phone), and was told it was still in process. 8 weeks later I went there to cancel order. waited for 20min just to talked to opticians. She said she would call to the place they order glasses from. Another 20min For her to come out with my glasses saying it was delivered last Saturday and they didn't have any technicians to open the box! Ridiculous! No apology. No text. No email. No nothing. I view this as a top eye care place to see. Puns aside, I have been trusting Dr. Faith with my eyesight care for eight years now after I found out I was type 2 diabetes. I learned more about that issue from him that any of my other doctors. The staff is plenty and well trained in their areas. The machines measure all sorts of eyesight and reaction situations. Dr. Faith takes his time to runs his tests, go through the complete results, and cares about how the other areas of my health are going so he has more of a complete picture to help me. I'm no longer a patient here. Why? 1) Appointment times are almost meaningless since you can expect to wait 30 min or more. My time is not important to them. 2) A lens on my last pair of glasses was not the proper prescription, and I had to return to have remade. When you pick up the glasses, they just hand them to you in the case, and don't check with you if they fit and work properly. 3) When my optometrist retired, they made no effort to contact me about my next yearly appointment. read more

Hand down the best optometric office I've ever been to. I have been going for a few years now but I wanted to take the time to leave a review after my appointment yesterday reminded me just how great they are. My prescription has always been perfect from here, all the doctors are equally fabulous, the front desk knows how to work with insurance the best way possible, and the techs that help with glasses selections are knowledgeable and patient!! Christina always helps me pick the perfect frame and adjusts my glasses to fit exactly how I want them to fit. Glasses selection is great as well, all the well known and liked brands. I cannot say enough great things about this optometry group. Dr. Faith was instrumental in getting an autoimmune condition I had been struggling with since I was 4 years old diagnosed. He suspected what was wrong and sent me to Ophthalmologist Seanna Grob, M.D. for bloodwork which led to the diagnosis of my AI. Just this week I called into the office after I had been plagued by floaters for the past couple months. They seemed to get worse and worse. I told the receptionist this over the phone and she right away went to ask the optometrist on duty if I should come in. They told her I should and so I agreed to come in a day and a half later, which I now realize could have been a mistake. The optometrist was willing to see me that day and I should have gone in. In any event, Dr. Faith was out, but I saw Dr. Jetter instead. Dr. Jetter was very kind and used the proper caution in not administering the dilation medication to me. My AI condition makes me hypersensitive to many medications. Unfortunately, without the benefit of dilation this made diagnosing me much more difficult. She saw a small spot on the photos of my eyes that she was not sure about. Dr. Jetter proceeded to check my eyes the best she could and in the end determined I should see a Retinal Ophthalmologist immediately. The next day I was contacted by Livermore Optometry and I was sent to Dr. Elizabeth Marlow, M.D. at Bay Area Retina Associates. Dr. Marlow dilated my pupils and I did in fact have a retinal tear. She prepped me for the laser surgery immediately and before I knew it, it was done. The surgery was painless and I was able to drive home after. Today my eyes seem much better and I am beyond thankful for the wonderful care I have always received at Livermore Optometry Group. I do not have the words to express my gratitude to the entire team there. Dr. Faith changed my life. He solved a 41 year mystery that 30 specialists (Ophthalmologist and Neurologist etc) and many internists had not solved. I can finally be treated for the AI condition that I have and will avoid many possible complications, including thymus cancer. Dr. Jetter saved my left eye from the horrible consequences of an untreated retinal tears. I'd highly recommend this Optometry group to anyone. read more

2019 Review 1/100 - Being a military spouse can be hard when you have to move every few years and find all new doctors. The first eye doctor I went to after moving here did not leave a great impression and I felt rushed through the whole process. At Livermore Optometry Group I was welcomed with smiles. My husband and 6 month son were with me and all the ladies were keeping our baby entertained. As for the actual eye check, they have all these fancy machines that check all different parts of the eye. They let me in the loop and let me know what they were testing for with each machine. They did my regular eye exam as well as tested for a new contacts and glasses prescription. The office is in a lovely part of town near plenty of restaurants. I will definitely be going back for future eye exams. read more

I am soooo disappointed with the Livermore Optometry Group. We had three appointments with two different doctors. After one and half hours later only two appointments were completed. It is not acceptable at all. After I complained about long waiting time, I was told that :"We have many emergency appointments today." Great, I made my appointments scheduled a month ahead and was pushed back. It's late, I have two kids with me and you feel ok to push my appointment to the closing hours? My wife and I have been with Livermore Optometry (Dr. Abramson) since the early 80's. (40+ years) We referred many of our friends to the practice. Got to know Dr. Abramson on a personal level. When Dr. Abramson retired, we noticed a decline in customer care services and more of a focus on purchasing new eye wear. On my last visit I was directed out to the new glasses department and went through the usual picking out eye wear. Once I had determined a couple of possibilities, I indicated to the professional I would have my wife choose the one she liked, as she was scheduled for her visit the next week. When I went to check out, I was charged a $20.00 fee for an eye wear fitting". I decided I would let that go, and then yesterday I was scheduled for my yearly eye visit, confirmed when I received the notice. Drove from Tracy, checked in 10 minutes early, only to be told my appointment was cancelled because I did not confirm the appointment. Of course, I was told it must be my equipment because they did not show any indication I had confirmed. (I assume they do not make mistakes, only the customers) However, they said they would reschedule, as they were fully booked for the day, so it would be in the next few weeks. At that point I elected to end our long-term relationship, and requested our records be sent to a practice in town. Sorry Dr. Abramson, not a reflection on you or the wonderful practice you had built all those years. Priorities seem to have changed, so time for us to move on. read more

I had a positive experience with my eye exam. Lots of fancy devices to get you the right prescription. My only complaints are first, they wanted me to sign a release form saying I received the HIPA document but they never gave it to me until I made a point of that. The receptionist acted like I was annoying - well if she's stupid enough to sign something she hasn't read than I would say she's not so bright! Secondly, the cost of glasses are super expensive though. I went elsewhere for those. read more

I've never been to an Optometrist office where I walked in and felt so comfortable. As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the ladies at the front desk. As one of them checked me in, I looked around and was amazed by the huge selection of frames available. The employee's I saw assisting patients, seemed to so engaged and enjoying their job. Dr. Yim was awesome. She explained every step along the way so I knew exactly what she was doing, and what she was checking for. Christina assisted me with frames. She took me to a seat and asked what I was looking for. She took the time to walk around the showroom floor and hand pick a variety of frames for me to try. We found the perfect pair. She was very open and honest about what she felt looked good, and didn't look good, on me. I decided to get a pair of prescription sunglasses as well. She didn't hesitate to help me find the perfect pair. She explained what my insurance would cover and how much I would pay out of pocket (or in my case, with my available FSA funds). I definitely recommend this office. You will win with any of the optometrists and eyewear specialists. read more

The best thing about this optometry place is that I don't have to wait months to get an appointment for a regular eye exam. The next thing I like about this place is the insane selection of higher-end (Tommy Bahama, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, etc) frames to choose from. You definitely need to enlist the help of one of the optical people because they've got stuff in drawers and cabinets that they'll pick out for you. It's helpful if you have some kind of preference or idea of what you want in mind because that will help them narrow down what they bring out to you. Price is also a good factor to consider. When you pick up your glasses, they give you a cleaning kit (not just a lint-free wipe cloth, but an actual kit), and a Hershey Nugget chocolate. Nothing says return-visit like chocolate! What I'm not too thrilled about is the number of visits these doctors want their patients to make for "adjustments." It took 3 appointments to get me set up with new contacts. I understand Dr. Melendez just wants to be sure these fit and are comfortable, but honestly, do I need to keep coming back? Good thing I live and work nearby. I do like the up-to-date technology in this office, both in their eye equipment, and in the color-coded light-up board that indicates which patients are waiting for what in what exam room. It seems there's too many people working behind the desk. I swear at least one of them is always just standing around. Maybe if these people could multi-task, they could cut some costs. One person's job is to get your name and make a note to pull your file. Another person gets your file. Another person calls you back to the exam area. After your visit, another person handles payment. See what I mean? There's definite room for cost savings! Rumor has it there's a very good looking eye doctor here, but I don't know who it is. I really like my doctor and I don't mind the assembly line type of eye tests they give you prior to seeing the doctor but I don't like the upselling of the additional eye scan I get each time I go in. The main reason I'm writing this review and gave it two stars, however, is the automated spam I get prior to appointments they set up on my behalf. This morning I received an email asking me to confirm my attendance, which I did. Mid day I received the same request via text which I responded with the obligatory "C" to confirm. An hour later I received an automated call asking me to call their office to confirm. Last time this happened I kept receiving calls until I returned one. If someone from LOG is reading this please know that I am making it a point not to call you back. Please - use technology to make it easier on your customer, not easier on you. read more

I'm very disappointed in the customer service. I had an appointment at 9:15 and Myra was very rude. She made me wait 45mins and taking walk ins before my appointment and when I asked her about it she rudely laughed and said " you'll have to wait or come back later" ?!
