Crawfish and fish combo. Very good. 5/5 would recommend. One of the best and freshest seafood I've ever had!

Very good and fresh. Crawfish and fish combo. Eggplant. And calamri. Compliment sunflower seeds. 10/10

Medeka grilled fish with chongqing sauce, we opted for medium spicy, it's the right spiciness we wanted. Fish was flavorful and the sauce was great. The combo vege items were a bit disappointing, it was weird to see fries in the combo, the seaweed was actually kelps, celery and bean curd skin were ok. I rather to have Napa cabbage then celery.

It's a Chinese restaurant. - Cucumber Salad 1.7/5 Very very garlicky, not enough vinegar. - Lamb Skewers 4.2/5 Good lamb skewers. Good taste, well cooked. - Grilled Octopus 4.1/5 Good tasting octopus legs. It's well seasoned as well. - Grilled Oysters 5/5 Whatever sauce they put on top is DELICIOUS. It's spicy with garlic, and pairs perfectly with the grilled oysters. The oysters are huge. - Spicy Beef & Tripe 1.6/5 Spicy beef and tendon... it was ok. - Grilled Fish 3.2/5 Tender fish, it's fried then boiled with spicy broth. The fish was tender. Free parking in lot.

Instantly, from the moment I was seated, I was transported to the small night markets and food stalls in China. The wooden tables, decor, liveliness of the place gave a reminiscent feel to past travels to China The menu was daunting to an unfamiliar eye and sadly did not have descriptions. It was quite challenging as primarily English speakers but fortunately, we had a Mandarin speaker in our group. Most of the staff was friendly but mostly spoke Mandarin. We ordered the signature medaka fish with chongqing authentic sauce (per the servers recommendation) with added combination veggies and chicken + small lamb skewers. If you like Mala, this is your place! Towards the end, consider my tongue numb. Fish was fresh and delicious! Taste alone, I give it a 5/5. Chicken skewers were pretty good but I probably would not get the lamb small skewers again as it had little meat on the stick. The food items were on the pricier side. Final consensus: I would recommend this to a friend who misses authentic Chinese mala food but would only frequent this place once in a while myself

Stumbled upon this place and I already cant wait to go back for more! We ordered fishball skewers, green onion skewers, pork belly skewers, chicken skin skewers, cumin beef skewers, and cumin lamb skewers. We also got grilled steam buns and a chinese eggplant with garlic as well as some beer to pair with the food. The eggplant was so delicious and well seasoned I just wish they had served it cut up already so that it was easier to eat. The best part was definitely the meat everything was so juicy and delicious and I was so surprised at how lovely everything tasted. The pork belly skewers were a tad overcooked and a little dry but still yummy and some of the chicken skin was not as crispy as I would like but still good and well seasoned. The service was also pretty good and the ambiance was also really nice. They have picnic style tables in there and it was decorated nicely -- definitely a good spot for groups. Next time I definitely want to try the roast fish and get more skewers!

They have a Yelp waitlist for checking in upon arrival and app ordering to your table. They were packed by we didn't wait long as staff are buzzing all over the restaurant. The servers are friendly but don't speak a ton of English which is totally ok, so if you aren't Chinese prepare to be a little more patient to ensure they clearly understand what you're asking for. We went with beef, squid, and chicken skewers, cucumber with fungi salad, garlic eggplant, and chicken fried rice. There were left overs of the chicken skewers and rice because the three of us were stuffed. The food was super tasty. There disco lights shining green lasers was a little over stimulating after a while and they have upbeat club music playing.

The restaurant's decor is very distinctive, and the service is attentive. I ordered the non-spicy crayfish and the grilled fish platter. The grilled fish absorbed the sauce perfectly and was very flavorful. The crayfish were large, and since they were fresh, the meat was tender and springy. The taste was excellent, and I'll definitely come back to try other dishes next time.

I went to Liu Roast Fish after years of missing out on this dish. We got their house special qing jiang fish with Liu's Homestyle base, set at a medium spice level. The flavors were exquisite, each bite bursting with savory goodness. The skewers, sides, and elggplant with garlic sauce were equally delicious. The indoor seating arrangement provided a comfortable dining experience, and the staff consistently checked in with us.

First off, my partner did the ordering as this is somewhat similar to her hometown food and I'm unfamiliar. Therefore, I might be butchering some of the menu items ordered. Most waiters don't speak much English so it's nice to have someone who can speak Mandarin in your party. Anyhoo... Location is great and interior has a good amount of seats. There's ample space between other tables and it doesn't seem very cramped. A thing to note is the late night hours on the weekends which makes Liu Roast Fish a great place for late night snacks, which is readily available in China. I think this place is doing a good job in bringing those vibes here. As other reviews have stated, this place is a bit pricey. My partner ordered the Crawfish & Fish pot, adding in Beef Tripe and Veggies. She told me it was 3lb each, and let me tell you...it's A LOT. But of course, we demolished it because it was pretty darn good. We ordered the garlic flavor one and the soup was delicious. She did put some add-ons (Beef Tripe and Veggies), but the amount was super limited. We could barely fish out any tripe from underneath the pile of crawfish and fish. I would advise not to order add-ons as it seems to be a rip off based off the price you pay. I also ordered the buckwheat cold noodles, which is similar to the cold noodles in Korea. It was super delicious!! Great way to counter the hot soup pot we ordered. Overall, I will give this place 3.5 stars. They forgot to bring us water when we sat down for awhile already, and they had to be reminded. The bathroom is also pretty filthy and the floor is extremely slippery...please be careful. I think placing a nonstick mat can be helpful and because it's a late night place, there's bound to be a mess due to people hanging out, drinking beer. I'd suggest checking and cleaning the bathroom every so often throughout service. Foodwise, great. My girlfriend thought it was reminiscent of her hometown food so I would say it gets a pass. I'd come here if I'm in the area.

    Signature Medaka

I came here by myself after coming home from a business trip and the server was polite and courteous as soon as I walked in. The music wasn't too loud, and the interior was pretty cool and fun looking. Since I was alone, the waiter recommended skewers, fried rice, or soup, since many of the dishes are family style. I said I could manage a larger meal so he helped me pick out some fish according to my preferences. I went with the signature medaka. I was not expecting the flavor to be so good! I tried the lius secret flavor with mild spice level, and that was plenty hot without making me want to cry, it had the numb kind of spicy that I like. If you're non-Chinese like me and looking to expand your tastes, I'd highly recommend it. Picking around the bones might be difficult, so you might want to ask for a fork and knife, but the flavor is absolutely worth it! I'd definitely come back sometime, as well as introduce my friends to this place.

"Buddha Jump the wall" is a famous Chinese Dish.good to know this particular item from one of my best friend, say all loaded, inside got golden pomfret oyster and sea cucumber and pork feet beef tender....really awesome.they called northeast Buddha jump the wall. The only flaw is this dish is appointment only.you have to order it prior the date coming .they need preparation. The volume is so huge,we have a group of 4,all full.Price is also very reasonable.a little bit spicy, but the waiter says can request to be less spicy or no before ordering. Good dining experience.the dining room decoration and the atmosphere.

This place is a fantastic spot for a quick bite and catching up with friends and family. However, the Sichuan pot skewers we ordered were quite spicy, which wasn't really my preference. The customer service was excellent. We ordered food, and it was brought to our table promptly.

They do serve coffee for dinner time but I can't take the caffeine at night. The service is above average for a chinese restaurant. The waiter was pretty patience with us as we brought an elderly guest with us at the table so we took a little longer to enjoy our meal. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty interesting where the booth is align an triangular shape with a center piece so the tables can be put together for larger parties very easily. Definitely easier to get a table for parties of 4 or less but it will work out for larger parties as well.

They use shiitake mushrooms and don't hold back -- the portion is generous and the flavor is unreal. I could honestly eat this every single day. The vibe is also a whole moment. The Shrimp Rice Rolls are the clear star--the rice noodle is incredibly smooth and thin, which is the mark of a great chang fen. They don't skimp on the shrimp, and the sweet soy sauce ties it all together perfectly. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. The Pork Congee is also a winner; it's silky, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cold day or when you're craving something soothing. We also grabbed the Shiu Mai, which were plump and well-seasoned with a great meat-to-shrimp ratio. The kitchen is efficient, and the flavors are consistently authentic. It's a reliable spot for a great quality, traditional meal that never misses the mark. Prices are reasonable and service is fairly quick but there's also a QR code for an optional online ordering for some.
