Now if I tried it one time, and the mochi fell flat, you can chalk it up to a bad day. But a second time, and it's still the same issue, especially for a place where their bread and butter is mochi, that's just not cutting it. Other gripes about their product is way too much cream. I remember having the matcha Jasmine tea mochi, and it was definitely Jasmine dominant. I personally don't have an issue with the taste, but I can see how others may find it too floral. Aside from a disappointing mochi, I give them an additional strike for not spelling their name the good old fashion Canadian way! It should be Savourology!

Plenty of parking around and I don't seem to see it being super busy most of the time. The store is a little small as it's more of a buy-and-go kind of style. Staff are super friendly and helpful in explaining different types of items and flavours that are available. Desserts/Food/Drinks This Japanese spot offers a selection of desserts, drinks and small food items. If you don't know, their specialty is cream buns - so it's a must get when you are here. They have a variety of flavours to choose from and it changes with the season too - I highly recommend the original to start, followed by strawberry or earl grey. Drinks is the usual standard matcha or hojicha lattes. These go and pair really well with the cream buns. As for food, they have bread available for you to purchase - and it's the soft, thick Japanese fluffy bread that goes great with everything or on its own. They also have small burgers that you can buy! Glad to have this spot in the neighbourhood and the desserts are definitely a great way to buy and share.

I ordered two items: - Taro Purple Rice Cream Cheese (Oreo Crumbs) - 7/10 - I liked the chewiness of the purple rice - Taro Matcha Brulee (Butter crunch crumbs) - 9/10 - love the combination of all 3 flavours Both mochis were pretty good! I love how chewy the mochi was and how much they stuff the mochi with the ingredients. The mochi is fairly big and it's definitely shareable. It was good to eat within the first 24 hours. After that, once the mochi hardens, it's not as good. I'll be back to try out the other flavours.

The mochi texture was perfectly soft and chewy. think I would've preferred more of a whipped cream rather than the cheese flavour but it was still good. There also wasn't much pomelo so it was much more mango forward! It was around $15 for one, so it is quite expensive. I would recommend trying it at least once since there's nothing really like it in the area! I would also go back to try some of the creamier flavours like taro matcha brûlée.

MANGO PANCAKE 芒果班戟 - 8.99 This was so good, especially the thin and elastic skin that wrapped the contents (cake and whipped cream). The mango flavor was strong and the dessert itself had the texture of a fluffy and bouncy cake rather than a pancake (I'm used to flat pancakes). Sasaki Fine Pastry is a specialty shop focused on Japanese daifuku, mochi, and traditional…read moredesserts, with a menu that centers on handmade sweets rather than a full bakery selection. We walked into a small space located inside J-Town, where the display case offers a wide variety of rotating flavors, making it easy to try something different with each visit. The shop is more of a grab-and-go stop than a place to sit for an extended visit, but the quality of the desserts makes it worth the short stop. The daifuku is the highlight here. The mochi has an incredibly soft, delicate texture that is not overly chewy, and the fillings are smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. We tried a few flavors and found each one distinct, with the matcha, hojicha, and black sesame versions standing out for their depth of flavor. The strawberry and mango options offered a lighter, fruitier contrast, while the seasonal specials gave a reason to come back and see what was new. The dorayaki is also worth trying, with soft pancakes and a generous filling that pairs well with a cup of tea or coffee, and the texture of the pancakes held up well against the sweetness of the filling. Since everything is made fresh, popular flavors can sell out later in the day, so visiting earlier gives you the best selection. We noticed that the display case was fullest in the morning, and a few items were already gone by the afternoon. Individual pieces are priced higher than standard bakery desserts, but the quality and attention to detail help justify the cost. The freshness of the mochi and the care in the preparation are evident in each piece, and the flavors are well developed without relying on excessive sweetness. Sasaki Fine Pastry is one of the better places to try fresh Japanese mochi and daifuku in the Toronto area. The wide variety of flavors, consistently soft texture, and carefully made fillings make it an easy stop whether you are already visiting J-Town or specifically looking for authentic Japanese desserts. The combination of craftsmanship, freshness, and thoughtful flavor combinations makes it a destination worth seeking out for anyone who appreciates traditional Japanese sweets.

I was quoted differently than what was on website. She corrected herself when I clarified the price ! Pros- the cake was so dainty and cute ! I loved the box and how it was wrapped with a ribbon ! I also loved how they added hearts on the nameplate without me having to ask . This personal touch leaves me with an impression the cake decor loves doing their job ! Lastly, I love the complimentary candle.. it was gold and a wonderful final touch ! The cream was really fresh as was most of the fruits ( except mango- it looked like it was on the verge of going bad ). Cons- the cake didn't hold intact once cut:( the center basically collapsed maybe because fruit/ batter/ cream ratio wasn't balanced . It honestly looked like a pile of smashed up cake and very much opposite of aesthetically pleasing. I've never had this happen to us in the past and we are a family that loves a good old Chinese fruit cake lol . Also as shared above.. the mango in the cake wasborderline too ripe the first day.
