I haven't been to the optometrist in several years and I have noticed my eyesight changing. I just put it aside and kept on wearing my contacts and glasses. Well, it's the new year and I decided to get my eyes checked. I went to an optometrist down the street, but wanted to try this optometry out since my friend recommended it to me. I was able to get an appointment for same day literally one hour after I called. I was very happy. I was quoted $50/$60 for both contacts lens exam and glasses. $60 for astigmatism...sweet! That's a deal compared to Costco and other places. They do take insurance too. I had Dr. Joseph who was very friendly and thorough. He went to extra mile to let's know what was going on. He was very patient with all of my questions. I really enjoyed my experience. The staff is friendly here too and speak Vietnamese as well. The location is next to ING Direct, behind Thanh My restaurant on Bolsa and in the same plaza as Hollywood Bridal, Givral Bakery. Parking is plenty. They take credit cards and cash, definitely will make a return visit and I recommend them to you if yours looking for a good optometrist! read more

I feel since this place is so underrated, I should contribute a review. I've been to this place twice? Maybe three phone calls? So far, this place is pretty nice. The doctors are very friendly, english-capable. Also, the fact that both of the doctors are married and own this joint, so adorable. I am not sure that the price is reasonable, bc my first visit there cost me $200 straight off. $60 for glass and contact exam (included is a post-contact exam to see if the contacts are suitable). $140 for the lens (I used my old frames). However, they are very approachable and very easy to deal. I called in one time to ask for the prescription of my glasses and they did not persuade me to obtain my glasses there but gladly offered to fax me the copy and/or print me the copy of my prescription. Honestly, I think this is going to my main place from now. Screw 20/20 rude service. I LOVE that this place is almost a hole in the wall bc everyone flocks to 20/20. This is my 1st time coming here. My experience was GREAT until I encountered the "lab" guy making glasses. He couldn't find my glasses, and started giving me attitude which made me look like a weirdo in front of everyone there: me bugging on ppl and trying to pick up my glasses, but they were not done yet. Review strictly on the old guy in the "lab" making glasses. Not sure if he's trolling or unintelligent. Came in to see if we can get a repair or replacement glasses. I asked him if he has any frames that fit the broken ones I have. He said yes. I ask him how much, he says he doesnt lnow, we'll see. I ask him can I see them, and he asked me if I want metal or plastic frame. I said metal, and he said he doesnt have it. So I asked what about plastic, he told me he doesnt think so. I've been going to this place for years, and I've been very happy with each visit. One of the reasons why I chose this place initially was their affordability. The staff is very approachable and respectful. Surprisingly, they have quite a few staff at the front to attend to the patients, which I like. Dr Do has always been my doctor. He's very kind, through, and patient. He takes his time to explain his findings as well. I've paid with Medi-Cal, cash, and private insurance, and never once did I feel I was treated differently. One of the few spots in Little Saigon where I can always find parking, and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to see one of the super friendly husband-wife optometrists. Hands down best optometry in bolsa!! They have great prices and a wide selection of glasses! Been going here for over 10 years, they accept almost every insurance and even if you do not have insurance, the prices are ridiculously cheap anyways. I got my prescription sunglasses for about $80 after everything. (frame, lens, coating) They have honest service and do not over charge like some other places. That is what I love about this place because they tell you the prices straight, they dont try to upsell you anything. The optometrist here are very friendly and nice as well. What is wrong with the lab guy? I'm picking up my mom's pair of glasses and notice that both sides of the glasses appear to be widened. I know that this is normal after they manipulated the glasses to put in the lens, but he is full of attitude and refuses to adjust it because "the person who will wear this is not here." He then storms away... I understand this is a place that fills the niche of Vietnamese speaking patients wanting affordable options for all their glasses needs, however we don't want to return to a place where we have to beg people to help us. Man, I love this place. Lol I made an appt on wed/thur. The woman had broken English, so it took a little more effort to communicate my appointment and questions but I got in on Friday. I strolled in 10-15 min earlier than my appt just in case to fill out paperwork and yup there were paperwork to fill out. Greeted by two pleasant girls. I didn't catch their names but I really like the little missy with the glasses. Very friendly. :) Sat down for a few mins and gazed at their selection of affordable frames. Not a bad selection! I was called in a matter of minutes and walked into the room where they have machines to test my vision (gauges my prescription and checks for astigmatism) and test the pressure in my eyes where a burst of air sears into your eyeballs. Lol. It always catches me by surprise but it is painless. Lol. Anyways really quick procedure then sent back outside to wait for one of the doctors. Minutes later, I got called in. I got Dr. Nguyen this time and she is so friendly! Felt like I was talking to one of my girlfriends. Lol. Quick and thorough vision exam. Answered all my questions. Very efficient. Both doctors are very astute and efficient! Got my new RX lens sample, one last vision check, paid my bill and I was out the door. Again never pushy about selling. I bought a frame online and brought it yesterday and Dr. Diem Nguyen told me she would have my prescription lenses put in on the next day even though winter vacation starts on the 24th for the office. My family has gone to see Dr. Diem and Dr. Thinh for many years. We have gotten eyeglasses and contacts here. The frame selection is a good variety. I normally like the light, flexible, titanium, Japanese or Korean brand ones. Staff are normally nice and helpful. The gentleman who fixes the glasses is quiet but nice. They accept VSP and Medical, cash, check. I got the transition glasses instead of bifocal but didn't like it. My contacts prescriptions have increased over time and my vision is not always clear. read more

I have been going to Little Saigon Optometry for 9 years, since 2008! Seriously, my longest relationship to date... I paid $60 for an eye and contact lens exam. I recognize every face in that office because they have been there since I have been going there. It's a family owned business and I love both the wife and husband optometrist! They are very intelligent, friendly, and kind. I love that every eye question I ask will be answered since I worry about my astigmatism, if lasik is the right the choice for me, and many more. It's always like seeing family when I come there which makes me want to come back every time. They gave us prices for each pair but then when we gave them our insurance, they raised the prices up and said because we they can charge more for insurance. I came to this place today for my contact lens exam and oh was I pissed after leaving. I was told my insurance covered for my exam and 4 boxes of contact lense on their list. So after the exam, I wanted to try some color contact lenses. The receptionist handed me a box to select the colors. I chose 3 to try on and went back to the receptionist's desk to pick up the prescription. The receptionist then told me I need to pay $15 for contact lense fitting. Wtf... What fitting? That's included in the exam. They didnt even give an explaining. Just said that the doctor has to do eyeglass exam and then contact exam....never heard such a thing...What a ripoff this place is. I never knew any person that could be so rude, careless and arrogant like him. He treated patients with no respect and didn't care about the patients' question.
