At first, I had a bad experience here. However, Dr and her staff made everything possible in order for me to gain their trust once again. They called me and apologized for the inconvenience not knowing what had happened in the first original visit. They gained my trust over the phone and brought me in to see them next day. I was given a compensation for the transitioning for my new prescription since I originally paid for them twice (once out of pocket in 2023). Both the staff members at the front were helpful, courteous, and professional. I called before I came in and the woman who answered the phone said I could walk-in without an appointment. I want to update my review as a thank you for helping me out. My dad got diagnosed with a intensive brain tumor and is in need of glasses. The tumor is causing vision and other eye problem which makes his headpain worse. We went to a specialist eye doctor to get checked out but it wasn't a place like this were they have frames and can order glasses. The doctor there said it would be about $400. This is the best optometry experience I've had. I was able to get a same-day appointment. The strip mall itself in which the office is located leaves much to the imagination, but don't let this deter you from coming to Eye Q. The entire staff is incredibly professional, kind, and patient. My appointment was thorough, but efficient in terms of time. The optometrist was so informative and, quite frankly, blew my mind about a lot of things previous optometrists never touched on. I had recently purchased a pair of rayban sunglasses through Amazon that were a little to big. I came here hoping they can adjust them to fit and the gentlemen in the front was able to help me adjust to fit with no problems. Really great place to get an eye exam. They can get you in quickly, they take a wide variety of insurances, and the people who work there are very nice and helpful. Great at communicating and updating you when your frames and contacts will be ready. The optometrist is awesome. She takes the time to put your mind at ease during your exam and provides you with a lot of knowledge and tips on how to keep your eyes in good shape. These ladies are the most bbn professional and friendly people I've done business with, but more importantly, they are very personable. They've helped me look better and see better at the same time. Whenever I have a problem, they resolve it. My glasses were almost completely destroyed by being stepped on and they fixed them while I waited without charge. I now own 3 pairs of glasses from them. Picked up my new prescription glasses today! =) When I ordered my glasses on Friday Lisa had told me they would be ready on Monday or Tuesday. When Monday came she left a message on my phone apologizing that they're not here yet but as soon as they come in she'll call me. The fact that she called to keep me updated was nice and portrayed strong customer service. Today is Tuesday and my glasses were ready for pick-up. I tried them on at the store just to make sure they fit perfectly and the prescription was correct and they were! My favorite part about my new eyeglasses is that they don't slide off my nose! This store has a nice collection of what Lisa calls the 'Asian Fit' glasses. Love them! I'm so happy I did business with Eye Q Optometry. I made an appointment through email with Eye Q for a Friday around 12:30 pm and when I arrived I was immediately helped! Dr. Mai was super through and nice! She helped fit me with a new contact lens. I attempted to buy contacts online after they gave me my prescription because there was a pretty promotion going on, but they called me to let me know they could get my contacts for cheaper than I was going to get online! They helped me to save around 200 dollars on my year supply of contacts. This office truly cares about its patients and I highly recommend them! read more

I first saw the name "eye Q" and thought it was so punny and cute. And then I met Dr. Phan and she's just as cute. She is such a sweet optometrist! I went in to shadow her and bug her about her career one day and she seemed to not mind at all. She's passionate about what she does and really cares for her patients' well being. During an exam, she was very informative to her patient about the procedures and educated her patient in an easy to understand way. I was especially amazed when she picked out about 3 frames from the entire store that she thought would suit the patient's face and style and they ended up loving the very first one she picked! With an in office lens lab, glasses are ready for pick up quick! The receptionist was friendly as well and made me feel at ease right away. The location is a bit hard to find-it's tucked into the strip mall behind the big CVS, and the first store on the left of the small street leading to the recycling center. Hope that helps. I've been going to Eye Q for a while now, but I didn't fully appreciate what amazing service they do until I had a problem with my eyes. After switching to new contacts, my eyes started having a red and painful reaction. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Phan quickly. She explained all possible reasons why this could happened and walked me though options to remedy it. Over the next couple months, she gave me many different things to try and eventually resolved my vision issue, at no additional cost. They also exchanged my bad contacts and my new ones were available for pick up in less than a week. Dr. Phan has always been very knowledgeable and authoritative but never pushy. She is an attentive, active listener who will work with your lifestyle and concerns. For example, she asks about what my daily life is like so she gets a better idea of how much strain my eye is under, and recommends accordingly. Also, she remembers her patients well. The receptionist with glasses is also great (I forgot her name - Yvonne? Ivette? Christie?). After seeing other businesses where the front desk staff was sub par, I think Eye Q's receptionist is the ideal: fairly knowledgeable, energetic, POLITE in her speech (so important!), and defers to authority often to ensure what she is saying is correct. Be nice to the people at Eye Q because they're nice to you too. Directions: From Chapman, turn into the southwest plaza at the closest light west of Brookhurst+Chapman. Make the first left and Eye Q is on your immediate right side. Parking is ample. read more

I have been coming to EyeQ optometry for many MANY years now. Dr. Phan is passionate about her work and it shows. Her customer service goes far beyond money -- she genuinely cares! It all started when I was a fresh graduate out of UC Irvine, and I was no longer on my parents insurance plan -- and was unemployed. I went to a low-income clinic where Dr. Phan was volunteering. She examined my eyes and noted that my astigmatism and incredibly high prescription could not be accommodated at the low-income clinic. She gave me her card to her private facility where she had the proper tools to help me. She noted that I did not have to worry about the cost. True to her word, I was provided excellent care at the low-income clinic cost. I wanted both contacts and glasses, and she provided me with a few options keeping in mind my unemployed budget. All the while, I received the best service from both Dr. Phan and her optician, Lisa. Nearly a decade later, through various vision care providers and excellent vision insurance coverage plans from work (and now my husband's), I keep returning to EyeQ optometry for my vision needs. Clean and friendly office environment. The doctor took the time to exam my eyes along with all my kids and explain all the options (glasses vs. contacts). Lisa was especially attentive and made sure the contacts are properly fitted and comfortable. Went in to get my "Well Vision" exam and contact lenses done. Left the exam with contact lenses, and new lenses for the glasses. Everything came out to be around $300 after my VSP insurance covered ~$150. Seems a little steep to me, then I reviewed my receipt... and everything checked out. Might have bee "up sold" on the anti-glare coating, but I blame myself for not being assertive. All in all, everything was legit in my book.
