I've never had an eye exam or consultation before. I noticed my vision being more blurry and not as crisp at night due to grad school and constantly working on the laptop. I decided it's the new year so it's time to put my health first. The day I came in was pretty busy due to the holidays but Dr. Huynh, the optometrist, and the staff were very friendly. I didn't really know what to expect but the consultation and exam felt very thorough. Dr. Huynh was very professional and explained all the little details to me. Even if I didn't understand her, she'd repeat it again and made sure I knew what was going on. Another thing that popped out was that it didn't feel like there were any sales pitch. I asked Dr. Huynh If I needed those yellow lens since I'm on the computer a lot and heard those were good. She told me based on her findings and exam that it wasn't indicated and that s different version of lens would still be as efficient for me. To me, I was happy since I didn't have to spend extra on something that wasn't going to benefit me greatly. Picking glasses was a different experience altogether. I felt very overwhelmed with all the selections. I think the staff noticed that so she helped me in picking one. I kept telling her that my head is really big so a lot of glasses look small on me. It was a busy day so Dr. Huynh always tried to come by to assist also when she wasn't with other patients. I probably tried on a dozen pair of glasses from the smallest to the biggest sizes, and different brands until I found the one. The optometrist and staff here are so nice! I hate the parking situation here on weekends (as with all the plazas in Little Saigon) but this place is my permanent go-to! I printed out the forms online and completed them before coming into the office to save time, so I was taken in almost right away when I came in for my appointment. They sanitize all their glasses, supplies, and equipment, and make sure you're comfortable. Everyone in the staff is super friendly and patient, including the optometrist herself. They have a large, well-designed selection of both eyeglasses and sunglasses, and are really helpful if you need help narrowing down which frames you should get. I already had a prescription for glasses from last yea but have always felt uncomfortable at other optometrists when they stand there and stare at you try on pair after pair. The staff here was very welcoming and helpful. The office is also very large and neatly organized. Dr. Tong was very nice and I really liked that she gave me a detail explanation of the results of my eye exam. She even let me try on my new prescribed lens to see if they were ok before I went out to look at frames. When I went outside one of the staff assisted me in finding the perfect pair of lens for me within my budget. The young lady in the front was very knowledgeable about the different type of lens and explained to me which ones were the best fit for my prescription. I have been putting off going to an optometry for years purely because of laziness. I know that I will have to make an effort to find a good one, spend time trying on a bunch of glasses and forking over the money for nice frames since I don't have vision insurance. I found MyOptics on Yelp and the reviews were positive, it was close by to home and they seem to carry some cool modern specs so I decided to make an appointment to come in. The eye exam was $45 which I feel is a reasonable and fairly cheap price compared to other places I called in to request for a quote. They were able to fit me into their schedule the same week I called, which is awesome. The exam itself was quick but thorough. Dr. Khanh is very nice and explained every process of the exam to me and answered all my questions. To be honest- I came here with a frame already picked out at Oliver People which costs $340 and my budget for frames alone is $350. However- I figured since I am already here I might as well take a look around and try on some specs. Michelle, who- by the way is super amazing pulled out a ton of glasses for me to try on. I have a very particular taste and style and in past experiences I never liked any of the frames the employees at optometry offices pull out for me. Oh my gaaawdess, Michelle pulled out some beautiful options. I don't see too many places carrying such unique, modern and fine looking frames before. She pulled out some Salt Optics, Dior Homme, Salvatore Ferragamo and Giorgio Armani. These are brands I like but would never really see them at the optometry- usually the more generic ones like Prada, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Gucci (which they also carry if you're a basic B, just sayin ;) I had so many favorites that Michelle pulled out for me and ended up making an executive decision of narrowing it down to 3. I ended up with Salt Optic rose gold titanium frames which were $510 which is way above the budget I wanted to spend but I really liked it and Michelle was so wonderful so I decided to go with that. I had her mark the other 2 styles down in case I wanted a 2nd pair down the line which I usually like to do so I can switch out my glasses depending on the look. Cause you know, ya boy gotta look cute and all :-) I highly recommend MyOptics for (a) fair and reasonable exam rate, (b) great communication by front office staff, (c) amazing eyewear selection and (d) Michelle, who is so patient, sweet, has great taste and will most likely help you find your next favorite pair of glasses! read more

My first time visit for an annual exam went well! I was helped by Quynh who took the initial eye exams before being seen by Dr. Tong. She sanitized the equipment before touching the equipment which I really appreciated. Dr. Tong was very swift, thorough and straight to the point after examining and testing my eyes, she also took the time to explain the updates to my prescription and overall eye health. My insurance, medical, allows me to select frames with the prescription. I was shown a selection of frames that are come first come serve. Quynh was super patient as I tried on many pairs - which was sterilized after I tried them on. I even called back to see if I could switch to another frame and Quynh was able to help me. She is super kind and sweet, I'm so glad to have met her! The only downside is the parking. While waiting to leave the center, there was a huge line of cars backed up because everyone decided to leave at the same time. read more

Call from the lot to inform you've arrived for your appointment. They will unlock the doors for you. Come in with a mask or they will hand you one. Dr. Tong has been my optometrist for nearly 10 years! There truly isn't anyone else on this planet I'd trust my eyesight/eye-care to other than her. Starting from the very first appt back in 2002 (which by the way makes me surprised I didn't review her sooner) to my most recent visit (today, actually) - she has always been courteous and professional throughout the exam. What really stands out is how she remembers her patients - even if she only sees you once a year (get your eyes checked at least once a year, people!). Dr. Tong is also honest when it comes to recommendations - and isn't out to make a quick buck off you - she takes her time and ensured that all my "random" eye-care questions were answered before sending me off. Her two office staff members, John and Dominic are also friendly as well. They both helped me select a new frame for my new set of glasses - and despite nearly 20 minutes of indecisiveness, John remained patient and professional the whole time. Dr. Tong offers a large selection of high-end brands for eyeglasses as well as sunglasses. I'll update my review next week I guess, when my order comes, but I don't have any reason to doubt that the five stars will still be there. Honestly, I wouldn't go to a place for something as important as eye-care for such a long time if I didn't trust it. The store is located in the Catinat Plaza (where that fro-yo place is) and there is ample parking (which is great compared to when the place was located in the T&K plaza next door). I had an awesome experience at this optometrist office. I came in with my prescription thinking it would take a while to be helped because I didn't have an appointment or anything but right as I walked in I was offered help. Michelle was the employee who assisted me and she was extremely helpful and quick, she was giving my options of glasses I would like based off a couple quick questions. I was in and out in about 45 minutes and having picked a pair of glasses I truly liked at a great price! Awesome service! The only downfall is that you do have to wait 1-2 weeks for your glasses to be ready for pickup. Other than that, I love this place and will definitely go back whenever I plan to get more glasses. read more

Dr. Tong and her team are fantastic! Dr. Tong was actually pretty informative, even though I just had a basic eye exam. I wanted to use funds in my HSA account so I called ahead to make an appointment. For a basic eye exam - just the prescription, it was $40. I didn't want or need a comprehensive exam (where they look at the health of your eye), but if anyone is wondering, I believe it's around $70. Just call and ask. I took a look at some of their frames, and they have a great selection, but just didn't have what I was looking for so ordered my glasses online, but the girls there were nice and helpful. Got my PD reading from them so that I had all the information necessary to order frames and lenses online. read more

I like most things about this optometry office, from their courteous, welcoming and nice receptionists on the phone to the optometrist examining my eyes during the visit. They were very accommodating when helping me choose my classes frame and were prompt with my appointment. Unfortunately, where they fall short is failing to notify me when my glasses came in. I waited more than a month and after 3-4 phone calls my parent made, I was able to come in to pick up my glasses. But I dont like that I had to be the one to confirm and initiate when they didnt call once. read more
