Today I came in to get an eye exam and some new frames and lens. I had recently just received VSP insurance from my new company and was in need of my annual vision checkup. I was looking on the VSP website to find an in-network optometrist office close to my house and my optics optometry popped up but as well as a bunch of other offices. However my deciding factor would be the Yelp reviews and if they were a part of the "premiere program". Of course my optics was my final choice because of their amazing Yelp reviews, 80 reviews and 5 stars (now 81 and 5 stars haha). They're customers seem to love their service and their car and variety of frames. They are also very close by to where I live so it is convenience. They have nice hours of operation so I can go after work on weekdays. And lastly, they were a part of the premier program which is basically when the optometrist office has the latest technology and amazing service and basically just the best experience of eye care, etc. so of course I chose my optics as my new optometrist office. Today I made a quick call to schedule a same day appointment. The receptionist kindly asked for some information and was very friendly over the phone and scheduled me for 5pm for my apt. They close at 6pm on most/all weekdays I believe. When I came in at 5, sarah was there to immediately greet me and asked me to fill out some paper work since it was my first time. She was very professional and welcoming, already a good start. Then one of the other girls which was also very sweet led me to a room to do some testing. After that she led me to another room where she told me the doctor will be in with me shortly. After only a minute or so the doctor came in and asked me a few questions as well as performed more tests to check for the health of my eyes and my vision. Basically my eyes are healthy but my prescription got worst.. so she prescribed me new lens that will clear up my vision. After that Sarah went ahead and helped me check out some affordable glasses. I was definitely being picky but Sarah was very kind and patient with me while I tried to see which pair of glasses I'll decide on in the end. With the help of my cousin, sister, and Sarah I went with a pair of ray bans. Sarah had me sit down to finalize everything. She gave me some optional choices on whether I want to upgrade my lens to advance them like anti glare and protection from the sun, etc etc and I agree to some of them. Also I asked for a brand new pair so they will have to place an order to ray bans and have it sent. I'm excited to receive my glasses when they're ready. I was supposed to pay with my HSA card but it was declining so I had to pay with my own credit card but the doctor was nice enough and said for me to go home and check out what is up with my HSA and the next time when I come in to get my glasses, she can refund my credit card and charge the HSA card. Also it getting late at their office, basically closing time but they were still so helpful and patient with me. All in all I was very very pleased with my visit and experience at my optics. Everything from the receptionist to the doctors professionalism and customer service, the cleanliness of the office and machines, and the variety of frames, and everything else. I was very pleased! Accompanied my grandmother on an appointment with Dr. Jenni Huynh to get prescriptions and a new pair of glasses. Even though it was her first visit, patient forms were made available online ahead of the visit to expedite the process. Dr. Jenni was very patient and thorough during the exam even though my grandmother is quite elderly, doesn't speak much English, and is hard of hearing. The office staff were also very helpful in assisting with the selection of new glasses frames. Would definitely recommend others to Dr. Huynh. read more

I'm so happy I came across this gem on yelp. I've never had my eyes checked before and was a little nervous going in since I didn't know what to expect. I went in on a Tuesday as a walk in and they were able to take me right away. The staff is super friendly and so patient. Dr. Tong was super knowledgeable, friednly, and made sure to explain every detail of what was going on with my eyes. I liked how after my exam was done she even let me try on the lens to see how i liked them. And Whoa! Who would have thought that even though you have decent eye sight, that it could be enhanced even more. (Remember, this is my first eye exam so I was as excited as a little kid in a candy store, lol). Anyways, after my exam came the frame shopping. I looked at 2 and fell in love with one right away and didn't even bother to look at other ones. Haha. The girl who was helping me, wish I remembered her name, wanted to make sure i was happy with my selection and asked if I wanted to look around some more, but I was pretty happy with what I picked. And now the waiting begins. Didn't think I would be so excited to get glasses. Counting down the days now. I definitely recommend Dr. Tong so anyone who is in need to get their eyes checked. Just came back for eye glass and contacts exam and as expected. Dr. Tong is very detailed and professional. Her staff were very helpful and made sure things were in order. Felt safe with the protocols that they have set like having only one patient in the office at one time. Social distancing was maintained and everyone was required to wear a mask. The exam went very smoothly and glad that they are still around especially with Covid. I don't think I've trusted anyone with my eyes like I trust Dr. Tong. Highly recommended! found this place on yelp today bc i was in urgent need of new contacts before my bday vacation (leaving in less than a week) so glad i met Dr. Trish Nguyen (who is also my birthday TWIN lol) at MyOptics because this was the most pleasant, transparent, and informative experience I've had getting my contacts and glasses script. If you know the bolsa area around here, you'll know its a hit-or-miss when it comes to service, but Dr. Trish was so bubbly and personable i felt at ease immediately. You can get a sense of how knowledgeable Dr. Trish is by her clear + concise communication & patient-education. The examination was quick +easy and we spent a good chunk of our time discussing the results as she wanted to confirm if her findings match my history (which it did!) this was the extra step most Dr. don't take, and tells me Dr. Trish values (and prides herself on) ACCURACY. After her examination, Dr. Trish even offered me some dailies so i can have enough for my trip, &i didn't even have to rush order new ones!! this was the sweest gesture and demonstrated her compassion for patients. This is my favorite optometry that I've been to! Everybody there is so helpful and welcoming as soon as you walk through the doors. I've been with them for a couple years now, and they even sent out holiday cards! The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. Michelle was especially helpful! As soon as I let her know what kind of frames I was interested in, she picked out the perfect pair for me right away. She's been there every time I've come in, and she's been so friendly, knowledge and helpful every time, whether it's getting my contacts right, adjusting my frames, or picking out frames. I was also fortunate enough to have been seen by both Dr. Tong and Dr. Nguyen. When I saw Dr. Nguyen, I came in for contacts. The first trial pair she gave me didn't seem right, and when I told her, she figured out why it wasn't right and corrected it right away. Both optometrists really know their trade and are super kind. I have been wearing glasses since a young age, so I've gone through many pairs of glasses from many different optometries - but Dr. Tong and the staff at MyOptics are in my opinion the best! My first time at MyOptics was through a referral from a friend. I was going in to get my eye exam for glasses as well as contacts. When I first entered the office, I was immediately drawn into the clean and sleek look of the office. All of their sunglasses and eye frames were organized in a way that it was easy to find a particular brand. I was immediately greeted by one of their friendly workers who helped guide me through the paperwork and took me to get a pre eye exam. After that I was taken into a second room where Dr. Tong would finish up the second part of the exam. She was very patient and thorough while examining my eyes. It was also my first time getting contacts so showed me how to put on and take off my contacts - which is harder than it looks at first!! After talking to Dr. Tong about my prescription and contact options I was then handed over to Nyvia who helped me with choosing frames. Nyvia was very knowledgable about their selection of frames and helped me narrow down my choices to a pair of Tom Ford eye glasses. I've been coming here for several years now and their service is always top notch and consistent. Everyone is knowledgeable, very friendly and polite, and go out of their way to assist you with anything. My current glasses were getting kind of blurry..so I came here looking for a new pair and also wanted to try out contacts for the first time. The exam itself was very seamless. I must have bombarded Dr. Tong with so many questions but she was patient and answered everything. After the exam they walked me through the process of wearing contacts and made sure I knew how to put it on and take it off before letting me leave. Otherwise, they warned they'll make me come back another day so I don't end up irritating my eyeballs by failed attempts lol. Thankfully I was able to do that in two tries and with no red eyes. Woohoo! I also wanted to check out the frames. Even though there were other patients in the office, one of their employee spent a good amount of time helping me select a variety of frames to try on until I was super content with a pair. She was also extremely patient and cheery, to the point where I felt bad that I was hogging up all of her time.. I highly recommend everyone give this place a try. I was in need of an eye exam and new glasses so I checked my in network provider and referenced Yelp for reviews. I found Myoptics to have very positive reviews. Despite a few negative reviews I found Dr. Tong's personal replies to be a sign of quality customer service. Upon arriving I found a clean, well organized office and was greeted by nice and attentive staff. Dr. Tong was very nice, attentive and informative during the exam. They do have a quality selection of frames and I was able to find the same exact Ray Ban frames I previously had. I saw someone posted a review with negative comments about their prices. Maybe if you dont have insurance then it can be steep as i have had no vision plan at times and had to pay full price on glasses. It sont be cheap anywhere. Having good insurance/vision plan does make a significant difference in the price you pay Overall I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Tong's Myoptics, her staff and my glasses (which I received in exactly one week). I called Dr. Tong's clinic to request for an appointment for a re-examination and they wanted to charge me another $75.00, for a re-examination fee due to Dr. Tong's NEGLIGENCE. Service: The owner is very business saavy, so the workers do a great job of remembering who you are.... seriously, Dominique remembered who I was a year later. The other optometrist is very careful and does what she can to make sure you walk out of there satisfied w/ your vision. I have astigmatism, and wear contacts, so I must be a huge pain in their rear, especially since we've stopped by for at least 3 fittings so far. Price: They do have deals, so just ask... This place is legit. They dont fool you around with their prices like most optometry places in bolsa. Most of the bolsa optometry places raise their glasses price up and give you extra discounts. They make you feel like you got a deal but you really not. Dr. khanh is awsome and she is genuine. Office is clean and staffs are friendly (they do have to make their sale, so you may feel pushy). Easiest 5 starts given EVER! I've been going to an optometrist since I was in elementary. For a little while I stopped going, and now that I am making a habit of it, I went back to my old optometrist. No one really talked to me or explained anything and I felt like I was wasting their time when I couldn't choose a frame.So, I decided to try MyOptics. The location isn't far from my house, and the office itself is very modern and clean! I didn't feel like the machines they used were out-of-date and they had a great selection of frames in both high-end and low-end brands. Onto my consultation. Dr. Tong is AMAZING!! She was so thorough and she explained the appointment and procedure and the reason why she was testing my eyes and no one has ever taken the time to do that before! She was very down to earth and approachable and I didn't feel like she was rushing to help the next client. After I was done with my appointment, I went outside to look at frames. Dominic was SOOO helpful! He was patient and offered really great advice and suggestions on which frames I should go for. He gave me the option of the low-end and high-end brands. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. I definitely feel like everyone at MyOptics does a great job with assisting their clients. I absolutely felt taken care of and the best part about them was that they were genuine and cared to help me so that I could have the best exam and get the best glasses for my face structure. read more

I drive 20 minutes out of my way just to come here and have been a patient for 3 years. Their office is super clean, modern and spacious, next to plenty of restaurants and different kinds of services (but what plaza in Little Saigon isn't like this, am i right?). They have a lot of glasses frames to choose from and their newer location in a plaza off Bolsa/Brookhurst has plenty of parking. But the best part about the place is their service. Dr. Tong and her staff are extremely professional, courteous and helpful. I once took what seemed like 394 hours to choose a frame I liked and they were incredibly patient and helpful despite me asking to try on literally (and I mean literally) every pair in the store multiple times. Since I also wear contacts they're always honest and up front about costs and explaining what's included with my insurance. While I can't promise with your new eyes you'll be able to avoid the awesomely horrible drivers out there, if you're even considering an optometrist in this area, go here. read more

I was referred here by a friend whom lives in the area. I drove all the way from L.A. on a Saturday and was treated like a VIP by Dominic. They were extremely busy and Dominic did the best he could to get me in-and-out as quickly as possible despite being a walk-in customer. Dr. Tong took her time during the exam and explained everything to me in detail as far as my eyeclass and contact prescriptions goes. Their huge variety of designer brand frames that include Gucci, Versace, Ray Ban's, Tiffany's, Oakley's, to name a few had me in a huge pickle. Upon stepping in into this very modern clean environment, I am confused if I was still in Little Saigon Area. Very spacious and many varieties of glasses/sunglasses to choose from. Staff acknowledge us an greeted us right a way. Dr. Tong was amazing! She helped me every step of the way. Any questions I have, she has the answers to them. It was my first time ever getting a eye exam, so I wasn't ready for the air shooting in my eyes to check my eye pulse was it? Man, I kept on blinking my eyes so much that I couldn't keep it open for them to see it. The price I paid for my glasses is almost identical to the price I saw online and I've been researching before hand just to cover my butt in this tough time. I've been going here since I was a kid. Dr. Tong is so nice and sweet. She will answer any questions you have and her staff is very professional and courteous. One thing that stood out was her going out of her way to make sure you receive the best care. For example: 1) I usually have my eye exams in April. However since being at a new grad school out of state, my spring break was beginning of March and my insurance wouldn't allow me to go in for my yearly eye exam unless it was after April. The next time I would be coming home was end of summer and I needed my contacts and such. Dr. Tong called my insurance and asked them to make an exception for an earlier eye exam, which worked out perfectly. 2) Dr. Tong referred me to a great place for LASIK. Before any LASIK procedure, you have to get your eyes check and measured. Unfortunately, Dr. Tong was going to be leaving to go out of town the day I scheduled my appointment and another optometrist was going to take her place in the meantime. She offered me an earlier appointment that day if I preferred her to come in before she left for the airport. Of course I didn't make her come in but that really shows how dedicated Dr. Tong was. Dr. Tong really cares about her patients and makes sure you receive the best care. Her pricing is decent too. Overall, I'd recommend her. She is a top notch doctor. read more

The doctor was extremely patient with all my questions and felt that this was the most thorough examination I've ever gotten for my eyes. Unlike a lot of other places, they took the time to walk me through my insurance and the scenarios where my insurance coverage would be used most effectively. Other places, I felt like was buying a used car when it came to that, which was very uncomfortable.
