I always feel comfortable and friendly from the ladies that work at the counter, even just on the phone when I called to book my appointment. They alway look into my profile and make sure my insurance or eye exam expiration date are good. Funny enough I went here thinking it was my old optometry and that they had moved same name different optometry. Office is a little small and waiting space has limited chairs but also the day and time I went there were a few families here. Front desk staff are very friendly, helpful, and patient even when the office was very busy. Dr. Tran was friendly, efficient, and I had a great experience with her last week What I appreciated the most was that there is no pressure to upsell you like I've experienced at other optometries. They just help you with exactly what you need. Went to pick up my contact lens today and met different front desk staff, but both were just as friendly and helpful as the one I met last week. I visited Dr. Tran to get new frames after moving to the area and getting a personal recommendation from a family friend about their wonderful experience here and I couldn't be happier. I hadn't had an eye exam in a few years so I made sure to get one and Dr. Tran was so sweet and insightful throughout the entire process. I could really tell that she cares a lot about her patients and is passionate about her work. I came away with two new frames, one for everyday wear and one for reading. Well, don't take my word for it, it would be wise to, but I have been seeing Dr. Tran for about 5-6 years now and even when I've moved further away, she was the only O.D. for me. My vision was BAD, 6 years ago, and it got worse. From a -3.0/-3.5 to a -5.5/6/7, from L-R. Yes my eyes are weird but I had a habit of closing one eye because the other was hurting from too much reading. She was friendly and gentle as she checked my eyes. She recommended lenses that were the best for me, softer, last longer, a better breatheable lens, how to keep my eyes from drying out, and etc. She even helped my transition from glasses to Lasik! Even though I no longer need prescription glasses, I will always be coming back for check-ups and other services such as getting sunglasses. Plus, the bonus on why I keep coming back is she is very friendly and easy to talk to. I can say anything and leave feeling relaxed. Talking to her is therapeutic, she seems to have that affect on people. I'm sorry I've never written a review before, because Dr. Tran deserves the recognition and praise for her outstanding service. This place has left a DEEP impression on me. Although it's not easy to find. You have to drive INTO a neighborhood street to find the plaza. I went here with my dad because I can be a little rushed sometimes and he always make sure that we are paying for good services. I went really early and there was barely anyone there. Make an appointment if you want to breeze through. I'm really surprised because this place was really great in my opinion. The optometrist was really pretty and she was very accurate too. Sometimes I can be indecisive and take a lot of time, but she was very patient. Although the staff isn't SUPER over the top friendly like some of the other places(that makes you question the place), I thought they were really professional. Instead of just helping me see if the frame looks nice on me, they made sure that it fits correctly on my face. The optometrist even helped me with it. You don't get that often. I would highly recommend Dr. Tran to everyone. I went to a different place that had 4.5 stars on Yelp to see the difference, and as a result, I feel like my vision is effed up. Plus I paid more for thinning the lens than at Eye Q! Final words, if you want a real professional that takes care of your vision, you should really try here. You can't put a price on your vision. This is on a child's glasses from June. The frames are faulty and lenses keep falling out because the screws keeps falling out and down goes the lenses. She has a dual colored frame and Dr Tran keeps telling me they can only exchange frames or the lenses. The lenses are scratched because of faulty frame. The lenses and the frame were in June and have taken it back numerous times to get fixed. Lenses are sent to a certain lab that VSP works with and I know lenses are covered to be redone for free when scratched for up to 2 years. The frame in itself is faulty and then when I walked in this last time was told it looks like lenses are cut wrong, well then wouldn't that mean they need to still be redone and fixed??? Frame and lenses need to be replaced otherwise we will be running into the same scenario. Communication is not done between staff and even when I have voicemail proof of what was said from dr of what can be done staff tells me otherwise. Unacceptable. Your better going of to Walmart if you want better customer service. read more

Dr. Tran is very nice, accommodating, and professional. However, it is unfortunate that her staff is not the same. This yelp review is for her receptionist/front desk staff, Julie. I've never received such horrible customer service from an optometry before. When I first entered, I was not even greeted by Julie. Instead, she told me, "Hold on. I'm finishing this" as she continues with her work. I came to pick up a prescription for my brother and the minute I asked for it, she responded with an attitude and rude tone, "NO, I CAN'T GIVE THAT TO YOU!!" I was appalled by the way she spoke to me. I also work in a healthcare office & that is definitely not how you speak to customers/patients. She could have kindly responded, "I'm sorry. I can't give that to you. That person needs to be here." I was picking up a prescription for my brother and offered to provide my DL with matching last name and address. I even offered to put him on the phone, but Julie put up a fight with her attitude. Dr. Tran came out of her room and she immediately agreed that I can put him on the phone for verification. Something that was so easy, Julie had to make it so difficult. Julie definitely seems like she hates her job. She does not smile, is not friendly and not at all the most helpful. She sits there with her arms crossed as Dr. Tran had to step in and help me. Dr. Tran needs to find a new receptionist or else she is going to lose a lot of business. Julie is not the girl that can help you pick out a pair of glasses after consultation with the Dr. Therefore, I would not refer anybody to go here for glasses. She has always taken the time to address any concerns I've had for my eye health or any vision changes (I have high myopia). I originally went to Dr. Tran because she was the nearest optometrist within network with my new insurance. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how great the visit was. Walked in to my 5 pm appointment at 4 50 and was greeted by a very friendly woman at the reception who gave me paperwork to fill out in their waiting room. I was seen by Dr. Tran pretty soon after I done with the paperwork. She was very professional and friendly, and performed a very thorough eye exam. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and gave me suggestions on how to keep my eyes from getting dry. The exam took about 15 minutes, and the whole process took about 35 minutes. Before I left, the woman at the front desk very patiently showed me all the frames I wanted to see and gave me her opinion when I asked, and even recommended a few pairs within my budget for me to try on. Overall, it was a very positive experience! Dr. Tran is such a pleasure to interact with. I think I've found my go-to optometrist after a lot of looking, and would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a thorough, professional, and very pleasant optometrist! read more

This was my first visit to Dr. Tran's office. I had an exam for contacts and glasses. The receptionist is very courteous and helped me find budget priced glass frames, imagine an optometrist office that wants to help you save money! After being a patient of Kaiser for many years I wished that someone told me about Dr. Tran. The eye exam was very thorough and Dr. Tran explained what she was doing in a very calm and precise manner. The previous reviewer is correct, Dr. Tran is very hip! And a very cool person! During my second visit Dr. Tran had my eyes dilated. It was a pain free and pleasant exam. I was very surprised. I called this office to ask for my PD number because I was ordering lenses replacement online for the pair of glasses I'm currently wearing and they needed my PD number. The receptionist told me that she cannot give me that number because my prescription has past 2 years. PD or Pupillary dilation typically does not change after you're 18. I'm currently 24 and all I needed was the PD number so I can just get my scratched up lenses replace ASAP but this office will not help out and are forcing me to come in for a check up even though my prescription has stayed the same for years.
