Within the last 3 years, I've changed optometrist 3 times. I just haven't found one that I could rave about. I've been wearing glasses since a kid and contacts at least 6 years so throughout my life, I've seen and interacted with many optometrist. Dr. Le was pretty awesome. He was nice and took out the time to explain everything so that I understood. He even asked if I had any more questions when all I did was ask a bunch. He told me he's gonna help me improve my eye sight which was a first time any eye doctor has told me that. Although he was gave me bad news about my eye sight, I felt comfortable to know that he was going to help me see better. i wished they would have more frames and sunglasses selections. you could order off of a catalog, if you don't see it there. but i'm the type of person who likes to try and touch things so i wouldn't want to order it if i don't know how it looks like on me. but that's a personal preference. one bathroom for both gender. place is very clean and tidy. staff is nice and friendly. i got a pretty good deal for my contacts. there's a TV in the lobby area. not great parking because its located in a center with so many other businesses so it can be hard to locate parking and you might have to deal with rude vietnamese people. the only downfall is it's quite far from my house since i live in el monte. but that's not horizon's fault. overall, i would highly recommend anyone to come here. so far i actually liked my experience. staff speaks vietnamese and english. im not sure if any other languages are available but if you're in westminster you probably don't really need any other languages. so good luck! and happy eye checking! read more

TL;DR Fast, informative, and kind staff. Thanks Dr. Phuong Le! I called in late on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:30pm (when the close at 5pm) as a first-time patient. Steven picked up and heard my "sob" story. I was supposed to be scheduled at United Optometry when I had to reschedule the previous Friday. The lady there scheduled me for Wednesday. I called in to say I might be late from work, but no answer. I check their Yelp and they are CLOSED. I quickly whipped up Yelp to find the next place. That's when I found Horizon Optometry. I had just turned the age where I had to find my own medical, dental, and vision providers under my company's plans which I pay into. I even rushed out of work this day and left a couple things unfinished for the next day just to make this appointment. I have a long drive home from Downtown LA to Westminster (Orange County). When I called in, I told him I was about 5 min away and was hoping to nail an appointment today. He reminded me they close at 5pm, but he can squeeze me in. I was really grateful for that. Time to complete was all under an hour. I think it was a little past 30 min and that's really quick. I got my prescription printed and eye distance measurements. My boyfriend patiently waited in the lobby and got my medical cards from the car while I quickly filled in introductory paperwork (only 2 pages). He was supposed to go to Walmart to pick up stuff, but he ended up staying to watch The Incredibles playing on the lobby TV. Before leaving, I asked Steven if my boyfriend left at all to run errands and he ACTUALLY TRIED TO COVER FOR HIM saying, "well you DID tell him it would only be 30 min." BLESS YOU. I still poked my boyfriend saying he could've gotten some shopping done while I was in, but it was fine. I thought it was cute. The facility was clean. The bathroom is close to the front. First door on your right when you enter. The handle for the sink was really stiff though. The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Even if I didn't talk to them, all three at the front desk (including Steven) thanked me for coming and for me to have a good day upon exiting. Dr. Le was really kind and we bonded over talking about crazy 405 traffic and how we were both familiar with the Long Beach and Los Angeles area. I appreciate how patient he was when he ran through different lens with me (1 or 2, 3 or 4...). He reminded me to blink naturally during the exam to ensure my eyes would be seeing at optimal settings. Dr. Le is sociable, family-oriented and a good listener. He also cares about providing good advice, using my eye images and online examples to show me healthy and unhealthy eyes, and allowing me time to talk and ask questions. He said drink more water, get more rest, and be conscious about your health especially during youth because there are things that could hit you when you get older that are irreversible. He made mention about sunglasses and blue light sensitivity as computer/phone screens are becoming more of an integral part of life and talked about preventive measures to keep my eyes healthy and protected. Dr. Le is awesome! He takes care of my dad and all of his older friends that he refers to Dr. Le. My father was diagnosed with cataracts by doc. He never knew he had it. Most Optometrists my father was seeing in Long Beach, didn't really take the time to explain to him what was going on. My father kept thinking his glasses weren't prescribed properly, and kept having his prescription re done. Thanks to Dr. Le, we now know why he couldn't "see". I also went to Dr. Le a while back ( in 2013 )and his attention to detail is amazing. He communicates with his clients, he's professional. He works with his community. Called in one day before, and got an appointment for the next day right when they opened, showed up 5 mins early and there was already someone there, the crew was super nice (one female, I don't remember her name, and Minh). Doctor was super informative and friendly as well. I was referred here by my family member and they didn't disappoint. They were super clean, wiped everything with alcohol wipes before use and everyone with masks etc. which is very much appreciated due to severity of covid. Dear Horizon Optometry, I was a contact lenses virgin prior to our meeting. Though a bit scary, our encounter was life-changing. Contact lenses, I can honestly say my world is much clearer, now that you're in my life. and eyes. Eyes exams are not new to me. But I've never had an eye examination more thorough than the one I had at Horizon Optometry. And my experience with Dr. Le was great because he really makes an effort to understand your eye condition and your personal concerns. This is not your typical "revolving-door" optometry - the staff and Dr. Le actually make a notable effort to connect with their patients. 1. Hassle free waiting experience. Upon arriving, I was greeted and given only 2 papers to fill out. After I was done, I began my eye exam right away. 2. Eye x-rays that show the back of your eye - Until my visit at Horizon Optometry, I had never seen the small blood vessels located in the back of my eye. I did not know this - but if you have high blood pressure or diabetes, it shows inside your eyes! According to my x-rays, I'm all good. Phew. 3. Patience. It took me 20 minutes before I could get it in. My contact lens that is. The staff was unbelievably helpful in teaching me contact lens care 101, as well as keying in on some personal tips to get that damn thing in your eye. (for me, I have to be really close to the mirror because I miss my eye while attempting to place it in) 4. Clean and modern. Simply put, this is not your typical FOB establishment. I will be back for my follow-up exam later this week there may be an update to this review! And just FYI, today I had my contacts on in less than 5 minutes! :) read more

Doctor is still very nice after all these years. I made an appointment and was sent an email and text reminder but I was still late. I gave them a call to let them know and luckily, they were super busy when I came in. The doctor does take his time with patients, which is always a good thing. I came in to be fitted for contacts, and one of the front desk staff was amazing. She explained everything to me and was super patient with me. I can't believe I was so hesitant to get contacts before. It was an easy process, even though it took me a while to put the contact in/out. Although, I have to admit, I hate putting stuff in my eyes so it was very hard to take the contacts out. A regular eye exam is $60, luckily insurance covered it. I wish I got the name of the girl helping me, she's been there for a few years and has always been helpful. There are a bunch of glasses and a few sunglasses on display. Dr. Le has been our optometrist for many years and he has been extremely helpful. Each year, he would provide insight on the overall health of our eyes, followed by friendly questions that keeps patients comfortable. He and his associates are professional and very recommended. Steven, who is one of the newer additions to the office was great. My wife spoke to him on the phone and he voice was gentle and welcoming. He did a great job with pre optical check up and delegated authorization with my optical provider. Been coming here for 3+ years. Recently the doctor got me to try Ortho-K (sounds like a drug). I'm loving the shit out of it! I'm very active and my biggest problems with contacts were water sports. Sometimes jumping in the pool my contacts would come out and I would loose it. I told my doc and he turned me on to Ortho-K. Basically it's a hard contact you wear to sleep and it reminds your eyes. You take it out in the morning and you're good to go the whole day!! Super convenient for me. Especially when I'm playing golf, running, sprinting, or cycling all day. I've been to a few different optometries (having been wearing glasses since the second grade) and, dare I say it, for once I enjoyed my experience! Dr. Le and his staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I felt so welcomed! This was my first experience with purchasing contacts and the entire procedure was painless. Dr. Le was really friendly throughout my eye check up and answered all of my questions thoroughly. During the Contacts fitting rather than simply assigning me a brand and type of contacts he educated me on the pros and cons of the different types of contacts allowing me to really understand how he came to recommending me the type of contacts we eventually agreed on. During the Contacts fitting lesson I had a horrible time getting those pieces of plastic in my eyes but instead of feeling pressured and stressed from the experience the staff there was encouraging and helpful. I felt so bad for her because she probably put on and took off those contacts in demonstration 4 times before I got one into my eye! I have never had this kind of service at any other Optometry and I cannot thank Dr. Le and his staff enough for their help. Staffs were nice and friendly. I just walk in and got my exam taken within 10 mins. Everything goes perfectly. I choose out a glasses and pay 270$ for my new glasses included blue light filter, which help you filter out the strong wave length from blue light from electronic device like phone screen, laptop, and TV. Within a week, I came back to pick up my new glasses and I wear it for a day, noticing my left eye still see blurry both far and close; additionally my right eye feel like high pressure as if it gonna pop out and blurry when up close but still see far clearly. So i come back in the next day and tell them to fix my glasses. The old lady there said "it probably because your eyes have not use to the new glasses so give it a week try and come back if you still think you need to get it fix". So I told her it is unusual that I cannot see up close because both eyes see blurry up close with glasses even thought I still see clear without the new glasses. And it is hard for me as a student to take note from lecture. SO, she told me that it is because I'm not used to the new glasses and it is NORMAL to see blurry up close when eye sight got higher than 2.00, plus this glasses is only help you see far not up close so it is normal and I should only use it to drive!! Great! So I paid for blue light filter for nothing because I only use laptop and phone up close. So by the end of the conversation, she lets me have an appointment for the next week, which I'm able to test out the new glasses for a week. I came to my appointment and got my eye check again. I'm glad they did not charge me extra for this. And result come out that the right eye is the same as last time but my left eye is gotten worse. It increases from 1.75 to 2.25. So I don't know if it was because I've been wear the new glasses in the past week. But for sure that I know now both eyes are evenly worse at 2.25 where as the right eye was always worse than the left in the past years. So doctor said to leave my glasses there and the left lens will get fix. So I come back to pick up my glasses and still see left eye as blurry as before. I feel like they were try to trick me by saying they fixed the glass but they did not. Thanks! I wasted my time, money and used up my free every 2 years eyes exam from the insurance for this. I'm giving up on fixing my glasses and gonna choose a different place, which I don't have my insurance to cover anymore. read more

I've been to Horizon Optometry for over 15 years now (I think...) and their customer service has always been on point. Dr. Le is an exceptional optometrist and monitored my eyesight for years. Multiple times I've turned to him when I have an eye infection or if I think something's wrong with my eyes before I go see my PCP (I have HMO, gg) and he has always listened to my concerns and referring me to the appropriate health care provider. The staff is amazing too. I've witnessed the office improve over the years and one thing that is constant is how polite the staff is. The nicest people help you here! Ok I should have wrote this 2 years ago when I first came here. 2 years ago was my first ever trip to an optometrist and I didn't know what to expect. Dr. Le made things go along smoothly. Recently, i went to another eye doctor because Horizon was closed on Thursdays. I won't mention the other optometry but they were horrible and made the visit awkward. She was like a robot that just went with her orders and didn't even greet me or stand up when I walked in the door. Dr. Le on the other hand was cordial and lightened up the visit with conversation. From now on, I'm going to Horizon for my eye exams! I had gotten glasses from Horizon on two occasions, and Kathy was really helpful both times especially with an idiot who had no idea what he wanted. She wasn't pushy and spent a lot of time helping me try different pairs on. The first time I found a pair in store that was perfect. The second time was different. Kathy couldn't find a pair I liked so we ordered through the Rayban catalog. When I came in to pick them up, she presented two pairs because she thought I should try it and I ended taking the second pair she ordered for me! The customer service here was atrociously unprofessional. We had an appointment at 3:30 but had to wait over 2 hrs just to see the optometrist. People who came after us with no appointments were seen by the optometrist before us. When we confronted the staff about, they not only did not give an explantation but they didn't apologize. I found this place by chance. I was looking online for an optometrist near me And I called this place up. They told me they were closed but was willing to stay open if I can come in right away. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a lovely staff. Hoa and Stacey was wonderful! They helped me expedite the necessary legal and insurance mumble jumble and off I went to see Dr. Le. He was very friendly and took his time to make sure my eyes were okay. Getting old sucks. I tried everything to help my vision (glasses, contacts, Lasiks, and then back to glasses) and now I've been given a second for near perfect vision. I just tried Ortho-K and it reverted my vision 75% back to normal after just 2 months of use. Ortho-K is similar to braces, but for the eyes. I love not having to wear anything during the day to have good vision. You do have to wear it to sleep overnight but I like that better. Customer Service - Amazing Examinations - Comfortable Environment - Classy I recently came to Horizon Optometry for the first time about two weeks ago. I underwent both a contact exam and well vision exam. I was very pleased with the professionalism and attentiveness of both Dr. Le and his assistants. Dr. Le and his assistant, Kathy, went through both exams in an efficient manner while ensuring I fully understood each component of the examinations. After thoroughly explaining my condition, astigmatism, he recommended contact lenses that best suited my lifestyle and we discussed the necessary steps to sustain and possibly ameliorate both my visual acuity and the health of my eyes. I deeply appreciated the time he took to present me with an image of my eye taken previously and educating me on the different structures, their functions and possible health conditions that may arise. Being deeply pleased with Horizon Optometry's overall performance, I decided to bring my mother and older sister for their examinations when I was due for my follow-up last Friday.
