I had such a great experience here! I had no eye insurance, but luckily they were still able to help me out in getting eye contacts. The doctor examined my eyes and informed me that one side is getting overcorrected by -.25. After they examined me, the doctor put in contacts for me. Since it was an eye contact exam, they also taught me to take out the eye contacts and put it back in. I was having difficulty and it took me nearly an hour to put them in, but the girl at front was so patient with me and encouraging. I was given a trial pair of contacts for a week and a follow up appointment. I will definitely be coming back due to the knowledge and kindness! read more

We came in trying to get a sunglasses fixed and we expected to pay a small fee, since it was just a minor fix. The receptionist was very courteous and quickly brought the sunglasses inside. After about 4 minutes, she brought it out, all fixed and simply said "no charge". Need I say more? read more

I have stopped at Eye Smart a few times at the Garden Mall. They have good quality eye glasses and sun glasses. I do not wear eye glasses, but I wanted to check out their sunglasses. This review is long overdue, but I wanted to come back and tell everyone how incredibly impressed I have been with the fantastic and efficient service I received here. I had been putting off going to the optometrist for so long because everywhere I had checked previously either 1) didn't take Medi-Cal or 2) quoted an unreasonably high price and/or long wait time just to get a new glasses or contacts prescription. On 02/06/2025, I did a quick Google search and found this place, which is located just a few minutes away from where I live. The man on the phone was nice and spoke clear English and helped me to make an appointment right away. I parked in the back of Asian Garden Mall as instructed and found myself in front of the shop immediately. The worker at the front was kind and courteous to all customers, young, old, Vietnamese, English. Despite several other customers being there, I only waited a short while filling out paperwork before being given seen by the doctor. Dr. Andrian performed the glasses and contacts eye exam quickly, making minor adjustments to my prescription as needed. He was attentive, gentle, and made me feel very comfortable as the patient. After finalizing my prescription, Dr. Andrian gave me trial contact lenses, which I put on in the bathroom. He then walked me out and showed me the huge selection of glasses I could choose from with my insurance. I picked a pair of glasses, ordered a box of contacts, then returned 2 weeks later to pick them up (a nice woman called on (02/17/2025 to notify me when everything was ready). The whole process from A-Z was pleasant and smooth. They really take their time and are so wonderfully accommodating, even tweaking my new glasses to my liking. TL;DR: I had an AMAZING experience at this small unsuspecting shop in the Asian Garden Mall. No wonder people come back! No pictures in office. Due to doctor patient confidentiality. Mom didn't want to get it done. Didn't really understand the help. Semi-poor Vietnamese. FOBIsh with some youthful respect. Can be done, positive attitude. Empty on a Monday Weekday, come thru weekend party crowd I guess is the norm. But overall clean office like the pictures from the office and their set eyewear line. I heard there's a doctor there that picks the designer lenses out and was interested. Just a little disappointed about the help. read more

I found iSmart Optometry through Yelp as it had one $ sign for affordable. Call them Saturday afternoon and have an appointment Sunday afternoon. They were very professional nice and Pleasant on the phone, so I went there. They gave me an eye exam for $40 and replace the lenses in my reading and seeing glasses for $40 a piece for basic lenes. I was out of the office within 20 minutes/$120 and hung around the Asian Garden Mall/food court and had a great time. I saw there Buddha shrine in the mall. read more

The doctor and staff are nice. Almost nothing to complain, actually. BUT 3 stars because THEY MADE MY GLASSES WRONG. The SPH of my 2 eyes are different. One is -2.5 and the other is -3.5. But they made my glasses with the same -3.5. My eyes felt a little bit tiring, but since it was a new pair of glasses and I just used it as an extra pair, I did not wear it everyday, I did not think there was anything wrong with it. Until one day I came to another optometry to have a checkup after a year, they measured that pair of glasses and told me it was wrongly made, and that it caused my eyes to be tiring. I was glad that there was no big issue with my eyes! Everyone can make mistakes but if you have your glasses done here, make sure to have them double check. They have a machine that can measure to see if your glasses are made to the correct prescriptions. read more

The entire mall that this optometry office is located in is pretty sketchy tbh it's 100% a giant money laundering rink, not a single legit business I'm site besides maybe this eyeglass place the doctor was nice & everything but their glasses were so overpriced sure they had every designer brand you can basically name with allllotttt of inventory but every pair cost $400+. Really makes me wonder if their designer frames are even legit. The people who work here are okay though. read more

So I'm really really really sad and disappointed to have to post this, but thought I'd be honest and fair to others. I just got my glasses back again to find it lopsided after having the frames fixed from it being scratched when the lenses were being put in. Full story: I had seen these frames before and had tried them on. They were perfect and my boyfriend agreed these were the ones. The totality of the frames came to approximately $450-$500 (can't remember the exact amount). I ended up paying $200+ out of pocket after my insurance covered a good amount of the cost. When I first picked up my glasses, they seemed fine, but upon further inspection, the frame area next to the lenses was extremely cloudy and scratched up. They tried cleaning it, but found that there wasn't a way to get rid of it. They were awesome about it the first time and said they would try to get the technician to work on it. They ended up not being able to buff it out and ordered another frame. The frame got delayed in its shipping (don't believe this is their fault), and I got a call 3 weeks after dropping them off that my frames were ready for pick up. Today I picked them up, extremely excited to see them. Put them on, and the store was close to closing so I left without doing a complete inspection. Before I left, I did mention that the frames feel off and loose because when I leaned over, the frames slid off my face. The front lady was sweet and said to come back so the technician can adjust the width of the frame. I came back home after about an hour (traffic and I live far). I passed a mirror and thought man, these glasses are so sharp that I can see how messed up and unsymmetrical my face was. I got curious, put the glasses on a flat table and found the frames were really off and lopsided. Please see the photo attached. I have a video but can't post it on here for some reason. I'm so utterly disappointed. This review is for the quality of the glasses, which I forked over a lot of money for, not about the front desk or the Optometrist. They were all amazing. THIS IS THE WAY! I started coming here in 2020 and will continue for a very long while. The staff and Dr. Nguyen have always been professional and friendly. Definitely giving a mom and pop vibe, always accommodating my needs, which I am grateful. Only advice I can suggest is for them to be proactive with calling back when prescription order is ready for pickup. Not a major setback, but it'd be nice since I tend to get lost in my schedule and forget to do a last minute pickup when I'm on my last pair of contacts.. (not an easy drive when you live in south OC)... still, 5 stars for their professional, friendly, accommodating, and fast service. read more

Wow this place really exceeded my expectations! The optometrist was the nicest doctor I've EVER had and I have had contacts since I was really young so that says a lot!!! The front desk was very friendly as well. They got me in on same day within only 30 minutes! I was quickly seen and out quick as well. My prescription had expired and I was getting massive headaches from wearing my old glasses. I had been calling all around because my insurance only covered an exam for glasses and I needed one for contacts. They only charged me $40 with my insurance while other places wanted to charge me over $100! They also gave me a pair of lenses to hold me over until I get new ones! I am so thankful for this office!! FYI- Parking is a hard so plan to get there a little early with it being in a shopping mall but still waiting for parking was completely worth the amazing customer service!!! read more

I came in about a year ago but Dr. Andrian was amazing and considerate. I got a glasses exam (covered by insurance), new glasses ($20 frames and lens also covered), as well as contacts lens exam (not covered, but like $30 or something) and contacts (not covered so about $300+). For my contacts, I was switching off ortho-k contacts (which were slowly losing their effectiveness after years and years), so I was trying the RGB hard contacts that claim to stop prescriptions a bit from going higher. They ended up being VERY uncomfortable and got dirty/blurry really quickly. I was switched to soft contacts (dailies because of blurriness) and the credit was switched over somehow so I didn't have to pay more money, which was great! Apparently the blurriness was from something produced by my eyes, so he recommended daily contacts (I still have blurriness but it's less than the hard contacts). He also gave me a contact lens case and recommended solutions as well as upkeep (not wearing them sleeping/showering/etc.). I had difficulty taking them off with long nails and the doctor let me try an eye plunger, which didn't work so I just learned how to pinch them off with online tutorials. I came back a lot of times for the contacts process but it worked out in the end. Very affordable! 6 months supply of daily contacts w/ astigmatism for $300+ and I still haven't run out a year later because I use the glasses more. I would just say parking can be annoying because of Asian Garden Mall. I was late before to an appointment because of parking but they managed to take me after waiting for them to finish up with another client. A couple months ago, I broke my glasses frame but apparently I had a year of insurance on them, so I got them replaced easily by paying $20 again for the frames. I didn't have a back-up pair so I just used my daily contacts until they were fixed. read more

I went in on Tuesday and the staff greeted me very kindly and asked what I needed help with, I let them know I was having issues with my eyes and asked if they could conduct an eye exam. Unfortunately the Eye Doctor was not in that day so they scheduled me for an appointment for Wednesday. I came in at my appointed time and the Doctor greeted me and the staff greeted me I was promptly seen by the Eye Doctor he was able to comfort me as I thought my vision was getting much worse, thankfully he was able to put me at ease. I was able to even get a pair of prescription glasses only one hour after my eye exam; talk about service. We like that they wiped down their pretest machines in front of us! The eye exam is $40 if you don't have insurance. Affordable pricing for the frames and lens. The process was extremely smooth and fast. Dr Nguyen is very patience and make sure I understand everything going on with my eye exam. The office handling business well during Covid pandemic. Dr Adrian was the most courteous optometrist, he was very caring, he took the time to explain any question you had, I highly recommend him for the most accurate prescription for yr eyes. I'm now being taken care by Alex, the nicest optician in this town. It is cheaper in the big box store but you don't have the personal touch and the Cadillac service you get here. Dr. Adrian was awesome. Very friendly, patient and answered all my questions. $40 for an eye exam and $25 extra to get your eyes dilated and they do a full view of your eye. I brought back my previous subscription eye glasses and they put on brand new lenses for $145 (with anti glare, anti-scratch, etc). Not bad compare to other eye stores like Lenscrafters. Huge selection of eye glasses(prescription and sunglasses). Price range depends on what your budge is. I will definitely be coming here next time when I upgrade my eyeglasses or get a pair of subscription sunglasses. read more
