Seafood ragu
Angel Z.

Food: Everything was good. The trout dip was my favorite, it tasted like salmon but wasn't too fishy. The lobster pierogis were a close second. The flavor and texture was great. The seafood ragu was disappointing since it has a high price tag ($36?) for a small amount of food. Service: The service was great. Ambiance: The place is very quaint and feels very homey. They even had free postcards.

Loved this place! It's been on the list for a while, food was bomb, the $7 hh margs were good! And the spicy one was amazing. Beef tartare, pierogis, scallops and pizza all 10/10!

Caesar salad for Valentines day menu

We did the tasting menu at Little Donna's on Valentine's Day (made sure to snag that res as soon as it dropped, since I had been eyeing this place forever). It was 75 PP, and you shared all the plates. The interior was very homey, like grandma's living room, which I liked. We started strong with a Caesar salad that was unlike any I'd ever had. I usually *hate* radicchio, and this was the first time I barely noticed its bitterness. The next course of the beet toast with the meatball rillettes is also delicious. There is not one fault I can pick with ANY of the things I ate that night, so this review will sound repetitive, in that I'll say 'It was delicious/yummy/amazing' for everything. Because everything truly was. The Jonny cake with smoked Salmon, the potato dumplings with brown butter and sage, and the chicken with dauphinoise potatoes - everything a hit after a hit after a hit. The dessert was palacinke, which were Serbian pancakes, and that was a fantastic way to end the meal. You think '75 pp, and you're sharing one plate of each item? Weird.' But honestly, the portions were enough that I felt stuffed by the end of the meal. Would like to check out their regular menu at a later time.

Truly one of the best restaurants that I've ever been to. Little Donna's has an innovative yet classic menu and is the epitome of elevated comfort food. Service was great and the staff was kind! A few standout menu items, the smoked trout dip was life changing, lobster pierogis, crab palacinke, and more pierogis for dessert. We left wanting to come back ASAP.

This place lived up to the hype! Cute, old school vibe inside. The service was great and the special lobster pierogi was a showstopper! My only complaint was that I wish there was more of it, not because portions was small, but because I would stuff myself with it. The cocktails were great, too!

Granny's Meds on the cocktail menu

Top notch experience! Our regular dinner trio was fortunate to be able to get a table at Little Donna's on a Tuesday evening. The cocktails were fantastic! I ordered the Granny's Meds and Season Crush (which was muddle blueberries). My friends ordered the Granny's Meds and The Old Grandpa Tut. We decided to order family style. The special lobster pierogies were THE star of the meal. The flavor was incredibly amazing and the chunks of lobster were tender and delicious. The crab and cheese soufflé were the runner up. Beautiful texture and the hollandaise was so rich and decadent. The special scallion ceviche tostada was next. Beautiful ceviche. Followed by the Serbian pancakes, although we all agree we really didn't taste the crab or hot pepper chilli on the pancakes. However the cucumber salad and pickled onion were amazing. Followed by the traditional pierogies with sausage and kraut were phenomenal. Bottom of our list was the gig and smoked goods tavern pie. Still very good - the spicy apple jam was incredible - but we really didn't taste the smoked Gouda. For dessert we ordered the special bread pudding (with homemade focaccia and apricot) and the blueberry tart both with a huge dollop of whipped cream. All I have to say is holy shit!! It was amazing!! Hands down you need to go to Little Donna's you need to go!!

Came for the pizza and ended up with so much more. A fun menu that everyone can enjoy. Inside decor gives a cozy yet lively vibe. Fun and attentive staff. Top recommendations: Housemade Pickle Plate, Little Donna's Perogies, and any of the Tavern Pies!

Pickle plate .... Ate the eggs but the veggies were not good.

Yikes. Such a difference from our first visit. This time, we didn't have a reservation but didn't mind waiting since it was a Saturday night and we really enjoyed our last experience at Little Donna's. I had been craving pierogies all week, so we decided to make the trip. We ended up waiting a little over an hour to be seated. Once we sat down, it took quite a while before anyone even brought us water--probably around 20 minutes before someone finally came by to take our order. We started with the pierogies and the pickle plate. The pierogies were okay--not bad, but definitely not as amazing as I remembered. They were a bit over-fried and lacked filling. The pickle plate, unfortunately, was not good at all. The pickles were overly sweet, and the rest of the vegetables didn't taste fresh. It actually made me feel a little sick afterward. For our mains, my husband got the Taco Pie and I had the Cheese Pizza with Pepperoni. My pizza was decent--nothing special, but enjoyable. His Taco Pie, on the other hand, was disappointing. He regretted ordering it. Overall, this second visit was a letdown. The wait wasn't worth it, the service was slow and inattentive, the kitchen didn't look particularly clean, and the food was just average. I really hate leaving a negative review, especially for a neighborhood spot I want to support, but this just wasn't a good experience.

Spinach Krokiety

My friend and I treated ourselves to an early Mother's Day meal. We took a nice half hour stroll in the neighborhood while we waited for two seats at the bar. Eddie the bartender took great care of us and was very personable. He crafted a couple of nonalcoholic crushes for us (1 rhubarb, and 1 pineapple) and made a few menu recommendations. We had the spinach krokiety, fluke crudo, and the Maine lobster pieorgies (a special). I'd just been talking about tomato pie with someone so I couldn't help but order it, and Eddie suggested that we have it come out after the small plates. We would not have had table space at the bar for it all at once, anyway so this was a sensible move. The Maine lobster was suuuuuuper flavorful and I don't even like lobster. The krokiety was much more delicate and subtle with its lemon aioli and a little lighter on the brown butter. The crunch of the crushed pistachio on top helped elevate it texturally. My friend loved the crudo. The first spread of food was so filling and delicious but I'll be damned if we didn't find room to destroy that tomato pie!!! The noises we made while eating it spoke volumes. I think I said: "holy shit." out loud like 5 times. The NYT article was not bluffing. A big boon for the tavern style (thin crust) pizza crowd. Still salivating over that sauce.

3.5 but rounded down. Wish I could give this place a higher rating but the dishes are hit and miss: The good: lobster pierogi and crab pancake were delicious! huge chunks of lobster atop pan fried pierogis, crab pancake had a delicate batter with a fresh crab filling + lovely salad + sauces The bad: beef tartar was heavyyy with chili oil/mayo/beef itself and very salty. we heard so much hype about the pizza but.. not our style. it's quite oily with a very thin crust so it feels also so heavy. Admittedly jm biased to more Italian, neopolitan style crust and lighter toppings. We were lucky to get a seat on a Saturday night though! Was told it would be an hour wait but we got a call 5 minutes later as we were heading out that a spot opened up. Glad we tried this neighborhood classic and would come back again, but maybe be a bit more careful with what items we pick.

Hmm. Not bad but not good. I Possibly needed lower expectations. Due to all the glowing reviews. But it was a decent meal with ok service. And the Pizza was meh. And if meh is fine for you than make the effort to make a reservation. The process requires patience. But not sure why. Perhaps it was an off night. But seemed like much ado about not much. Not bad but not good.

Made reservations for 6 on a Wednesday a month ago! So worth it. We tried almost every small plate on the menu. All were outstanding. And perhaps the way to go in the future. Pierogies, steak tartare, shrimp toast and clam pizza stood out to me as some of the best of the best. Service was warm and efficient. Place is cozy and eclectic. Was happy to go with a group because I wanted to try everything. Highly recommend!

Some of the best food Baltimore has to offer. The pizzas were simple and surprisingly good. Nice laid back atmosphere.

No bartender in sight, no other patrons, no background noise. For a moment, we genuinely wondered if we were in the right place. The bar is down a flight of stairs, tucked into the basement, and it's notable because it's Fells Point's only and possibly first basement bar, which already gives it serious character points. We waited near the bar for a few minutes, heard nothing, saw no one, and eventually started heading back up the stairs to leave. That's when Steve, the bartender, literally came after usnot in a weird way, but in a very human, "Hey! Sorry about that, I was in the stock room come back in!" way. And honestly? From that moment on, the experience completely flipped. Steve was phenomenal. Friendly, welcoming, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the place. He's worked there for 18 years, and once we sat down, he turned the bar into a living history lesson. He shared stories about Fells Point, Baltimore, Edgar Allan Poe, the building itself, and all the ghost stories tied to the space. He also told us about the celebrities who've passed through, including the fun detail that Blake Shelton once sat in the very bar stool I was sitting in and ordered a Bullet bourbon. Naturally, that kind of trivia just adds to the charm. Drink-wise, I ordered an Angry Orchard, and my friend had a single Tito's with cranberry and soda water. Our total was $26.16, which feels pretty standard for Baltimore definitely not cheap, but not shocking either. The bar itself is small, intimate, and packed with atmosphere exposed brick, low ceilings, and that cozy, historic, slightly haunted vibe you hope for in a basement bar. It's also connected to The William Fell Inn hotel through a separate entrance, which makes it feel like a hidden secret rather than a tourist stop. We loved the history, the stories, the ghosts, the setting and especially Steve. Being the only patrons that night was actually a gift, because it let us really soak it all in. That said, we're absolutely planning to come back on a busy night to see how the energy shifts when it's full. If you love historic bars, good storytelling, and places that feel like they've seen things Anchor Bar is a must. ‍

I also loved the décor; the bar has a fun Latin-inspired vibe that I really enjoyed. You can even order food from Fuzzies, the food truck, and the dill pickle fries were especially good. The only downside worth mentioning is the restrooms. They need some serious attention, as they looked a bit rundown and weren't very clean when we visited at 5 pm, even though the bar was fairly quiet. Smooth, rich, perfectly balanced... this is the kind of drink that reminds me why I started my little espresso martini passport in the first place. It was giving luxury, it was giving intention, it was giving I need another one immediately. For food, I started with the crudo, which was super fresh and beautifully done -- light, bright, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. Then I had the scallops, and this is where they really won me over. Perfectly cooked, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth... just one of those dishes you don't want to end.
