The cutest little spot in fells. It was my first time in the neighborhood and everyone recommended I come here. I love pierogis but usually they are kind of bland, which was not the case here. I went to a Polish festival over the summer that had some great pierogis, but the ones at Little Donna's blew those out of the park. Best pierogis of my life. Sitting outside wearing a tank top in November was a nice touch too. The Tavern Pizza was also delicious. We will be back! read more

This is a charming local place. We arrived early for our reservation and hung out at the bar for a while to wait for the folks to leave the table. Service is warm and friendly. I love how our server also provided us with tips and suggestions for our time in town. It was lovely. We found that the chef here spent time at Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix. We live in LA and visit the Arts District location often to see Chef Chris Bianco and enjoy the pizza. The house salad arrived and while the tangy dressing is delicious, we found the market lettuces to be slightly overdressed. The lobster pirogies were a daily special, and the pirogies themselves were significant. Handmade with house made wrappers and the pan-seared. They were quite the best pirogies I've ever had. The lobster, sauerkraut and tomato butter sauce was more like gilding the lily. We couldn't taste much of the lobster at all. The tavern tomato pie with cheese was a suggestion made by our server. The Bianco tomatoes are the star with a little cheese, garlic and fresh basil. Crispy and delightful. Seared chicken thighs with crispy house dumplings and a lemon-white wine sauce. Solid chicken dish, but while the dumplings were crispy, they were tough and felt overworked. We had a pleasant meal and enjoyed our time. read more

We have now visited Little Donna's twice, and it has quickly become our go-to pizza spot in Baltimore. Great ambiance throughout the small space. Dimly lit, moderate background noise. Staff are quite friendly and helpful. We have now had three different pizzas, all of them excellent: Cheese pizza, Bianca pizza, and the pear and smoked Gouda pizza. The latter two we paired with their hot honey sauce, and the cheese pizza we paired with their house-made ranch. The menu is pretty small but creative and changes pretty often, though most of the pizzas appear to remain consistent. Can be tough to snag a reservation, but they reserve space for walk-ins. Best pizza we have had thus far in Baltimore. Will be tough to top. read more

Had such a delicious meal at Little Donna's last Saturday to celebrate a birthday! We just had such a great time, the only photo I remembered to grab was the lobster pierogi (usually comes in three, but we added one since we were dining as four!). Our waitress told us this is an item on the menu that rotates, and we are so glad we tried it! We also had the pickle plate (pretty standard with the addition of four deviled eggs which was delicious!)! For the main, we tried the tavern pie and persimmon and pecorino pie (which we added prosciutto on and definitely recommend doing). The pizzas are a good size but are really thin; the tavern pie has lots of toppings so it was hard to eat by picking up! We also had the schnitzel which was excellent! We definitely had left overs. Others at the table tried the cocktails-- no one had any complaints and said all drinks were delicious! I had the crush mocktail and it was delightful. Overall our waitress was great in describing the menu items and making sure to check on us at the right times. It is very cozy in the restaurant, so make sure you make reservations far in advance! There is seating at the bar, but I imagine it is hard to get a seat during peak hours! read more

3.5-4 overall Food: interesting options. The perogies are okay, but would get the plain ones with sauerkraut and kielbasa on the side. Compliments them well. Their pizzas are good, I would suggest going for a unique flavor (Wednesdays are clam pizzas). Their plain pizza is missing something. The homemade sauce on the side is an additional cost too which would have been nice to know upfront. Not worth the cost. Service: takes a little time to get your food, but it is a very small establishment and they don't have a huge kitchen. Would recommend placing the pizza order way in advance. Ambiance: small, quaint read more

Good food and service, but a little pricey and dark inside. Came here on a weeknight with some friends for the first time. We ordered a lot of plates to share and some cocktails, everything was pretty good. But some of it was pizza which seemed sort of basic. The best thing we had was a special - lobster pierogi. If they have that - make sure to get it, it was incredible. We also split a few pizzas - highlight being the clam one. That said, I have had this type of pizza before. I also found it to be very very dark in the restaurant and during a rainstorm, it was hard to see everything! Overall, we had a great time and if they added more non-pizza things to the menu I would return. read more

After having Little Donna's on my list since it opened, I finally made it this week. I'm going to Connecticut with some friends for the 4th, and we decided to have a Mystic Pizza Night in preparation of the trip. I really wanted a clam pie for our Mystic Pizza Night, since clam pizza is a New Haven/Connecticut specialty. I had heard that Little Donna's makes a clam pie on Wednesdays (it might be the only place in the city that does?), so I decided it was finally time to try some of Little Donna's pizzas! I called around 5:30 on Wednesday and ordered three pies: their Wednesday clam pie special, their Cheese pie (crushed tomato sauce and cheese), and their Figs and Smoked Gouda (cheese, spicy apple jam, red onion, and rosemary), which I added Prosciutto to. The pizzas were ready about 30 minutes later, and they smelled so good in the car as I drove to my friends' house that I wanted to pull over and try a slice on the way. I was an adult and waited, but we opened those boxes ASAP when I got to their house. We loved all three. The classic cheese was very good - the right amount of cheese (not too much) and a great sauce. The Figs and Smoked Gouda pie was really great, too, and I think adding prosciutto or another protein is the right call, but it's a bit sweet and a salty protein only made it better. The clam pie? Exactly what I wanted! Lots of garlic, lemon, parsley, and clams. I'd be happy to eat it every Wednesday. Since I had a chance to go in to pick up the pizzas, I noticed that inside is small but very charming. I'd happily eat inside. The service was great (when I called and when I arrived to pick up the pizzas). I love their menu, and I'd love to go back for some of their non-pizza items (pierogi, trout dip, crab salad, pickle plate, schnitzel, etc.)! If I have a complaint, it's this (and it's really more of a warning): parking availability is horrible. To pick up our pizzas, I parked quite illegally (I knew I'd only be inside for a few minutes), because I didn't fancy having to walk blocks carrying three pizzas. Overall, a great new (but not really so new anymore) restaurant in Baltimore: interesting, inventive menu; great pizzas; great service in a comfortable, casual spot. I'll definitely be back. read more

I have to come clean - I have no clue what to say about Little Donna's. But I'll try to buss it down for you. TL;DR : Each menu item will pique your taste buds with how creative they are. They have staff that are experienced and friendly. The price does justify the quality and quantity of the food. I would recommend coming here for special occasions. This place can only be described as the embodiment of 'yeah see if that works' kind of dig. In what other world could you get, essentially, a pickled charcuterie board, pizza named pies, and grade friggin' A pierogies. Albeit the food itself felt like a melting pot of different cultures combining (i.e. pierogies had a Asian/European fusion flavor profile in my opinion), however each dish we ordered didn't feel out of place from one another. They definitely got the 'Mmmmm' factor out of me for sure. Let's start with their pierogies. My god, can they make a man cry. I have no idea what country of origin these things are from - but I do know the come from a place of love. These European-dumpling-like creation seemed to be pan fried, laced with the essence of onion and garlic, and smothered in zingy chili crisps and parsley. All this triggered my 'Mama Mia' neurons upon entry into my mouth. While an order comes with three pierogies, I do wish that it came with at least twenty. Biting into these is so satisfying as you come into contact with the subtly seared dough exterior and make way to the gentle chew of the interior. I BEG YOU TO TRY THIS ONE AT LEAST. When greeted with the pickled plate, I was confounded with their pickled carrots, beats, and deviled eggs. Personally, I have never found myself to be a 'pickled' person, but this dish may have changed my mind. All aforementioned inclusion provided with the pickled plate were delightfully tart with a bite satisfying to each vegetable. Finally, I had the tavern pie with figs and prosciutto. Not much I can really say about this but they struck gold with this combination. The pizza pie itself was topped generously with cheese while its crust and dough cooked satisfyingly crispy. The mild sweetness of the scattered figs were welcomed flavors as the strewn prosciutto imparted most of the savory and umami flavors through. A great tavern pizza overall. The community built around Little Donna's is wholesome to say the least. Located within Upper Fells, you can find familiar faces, well-known and friendly staff, and many dog visitors. I am thankful to be within the area, and I will definitely come back again. read more

Little Donna's lives up to the hype. Go to Little Donna's for comforting, flavorful food. I highly recommend making a reservation as this place has been in high demand since making it onto the NYT's restaurant list and Yelp's Top 25 Places to Eat in Baltimore list. As of now, the only way to reserve a table is by emailing them directly so it's a bit of a process - hopefully they set up reservations on Yelp soon. Once we got there, the inside was super warm and cozy. Eclectic decorations and vintage touches adorn the walls. The service was just as warm as the interior. Our server was kind enough to tell me about the gluten free options. To my delight, the fried pancakes on the menu were gluten free thanks to the chickpea flour they're made with. We also got the chopped salad, the scallops, and the chicken. It was a feast! The salad wasn't anything to write home about but the scallops were nice and tender and the chicken was extremely well marinated in a delicious sauce. The chicken also came with a slaw and beans that paired nicely. I wish I could have the famous pierogies and the pizza because both looked and smelled sooo good. Maybe one day when I'm feeling impulsive. We are so lucky to have such an incredible spot in Baltimore. read more

This is definitely a hot spot in the city if you consider the reservation process. Well worth it once you arrive and have your first bite. We tried the pickle plate, pizza, pierogi, and bluefin tuna sausage. Each dish was described excellently by the staff and they were very attentive. The happy hour was tempting but I am currently on a "dry January" alas. I was disappointed that I was charged $7 for a "mocktail" for ordering a Shirley Temple. The interior is warm, inviting, and similar to a quirky Aunt with great taste. read more

I've wanted to try Little Donna's for quite awhile, but their reservations book up so quickly. We decided to take a chance on a Saturday and showed up around 5:30. We lucked out and scored seats at the bar. This place is worth the hype and then some! The pirogies with lobster were sublime. And the summer margarita pizza was fabulous. Heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and delicious cheese on a most fabulous crust. We made note of the other dishes we saw diners enjoying, and look forward to returning to try out those dishes. This may be my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Little Donnas. We went on a weds and had a table in the dining room. We had several appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed them all but the pierogies were the clear winner. Drizzled in chili oil and topped with sour cream, they were simply delectable. We also really enjoyed the bobs chopped salad and the pickle plate. The cheese pie was very very good. We ordered the tomato pie and added cheese but this one was our least fave. Tasted somewhat bitter which I think was due to the wild oregano. I'd definitely go back and try other pies and I need those pierogies again! read more

I've had my eye set on Little Donna's since it first opened, but I just hadn't figured out a time to get out here. Finally, I emailed them to make a reservation and got one for 2 at 5 pm on a Saturday. We ubered here as parking is not great in the area. We were seated right away. It's a small place, but we didn't feel too squished. It was cozy and quaint. Our waiter was nice, good at his job, and quick. He informed us of the specials they had that day. They also do Happy Hour on Saturday's! From 5 pm - 6 pm. My husband ordered the Old Grandpa Tut (an earl grey infused bourbon drink) while I got the margarita ($7 happy hour special for the day). For food, we got the crispy cabbage pancake, the pierogis with sauerkraut and sausage, the schnitzel, and the Tavern Pie. We both loved out drinks. It was just a very well done margarita. My husband's drink had just the right amount of sweetness. The crispy cabbage pancake and the pierogis came out first for an appetizer. The pancake was SO good. It was piping hot, indeed crispy, and was just beautiful. The flavors worked so well together, especially with the greens on top. It had squash and broccolini on top, which we loved. The pierogis were delicious, but honestly, the sauerkraut and sausage was the best part. The sauerkraut was perfectly picky and sour while the sausage paired really well with it. We didn't plan on eating all of it, but we did. It was that good. The Tavern Pie and schnitzel came out next. The schnitzel was "drop everything and only ever think of the first bite ever again" good. I had a bite of everything in that first bite, and oh. My. God. It was super hot and crispy outside. The pickled onions and celery on top added the perfect acidity, along with the sauce it came on top of. The Tavern Pie was good! The banana peppers really add that puckering sensation. I would try the pepperoni next time. We also got dessert, but honestly, it wasn't great. The other food made up for it, but I would skip next time. Everything pickled here is by far the best thing. I can't wait to come back here. read more

Little Donna's is such a cute, romantic spot in Upper Fells. Came here for a date night on a busy night but snagged some tight spots at the bar. My husband and I have been coming here for the last few years and have consistently enjoyed every time. The food is European inspired with American elements. The menu is simple and would be describe it as elevated comfort food. The pierogis are phenomenal and we get them every time we go. The food is fresh and high quality, and in our opinion over the years- consistent. The pizzas are delicious and are made tavern pie style, so do not expect the NY style that is common. If you like cocktails, they make great cocktails as well. Recently we got the Taco Tuesday - margarita with a twist, if you will, and I got the Old Grandpa Tut- an Early Grey infused bourbon cocktail. Both were lovely and well balanced. The atmosphere is cozy and unique. Full of vintage decor and nods to the midwest as the owner is from Indiana. This also means there is always Three Floyds beer, which is not too common at east coast joints. Overall we love it and will keep going and taking our out of town friends when they visit. One couple even came back to Baltimore and went their first night back! read more

If you enjoy good food, walk into (or make a reservation) at Little Donna's inside a corner rowhouse a few blocks from the main street in Fells Point. My wife, six-year-old daughter, housemate, and I sat on the front patio for a Saturday dinner at 5:30 p.m. Here's our experience. 1) Food: With a chef with roots in Eastern Europe, pierogies are on the menu alongside a plate of pickled things, cabbage pancakes, and more. They also bake five different kinds of pies (pizzas). We ordered the soup of the day (clam chowder with bacon), pierogies, plate of pickles, two Tavern pies, and a cheese pie with a side of the tomato hot honey sauce. Everything was delicious! And that tomato hot honey sauce is worth getting again! 2) Drinks: With a cocktail, large beer, and wine list, I ordered the Pomegranate Lemon Crush. It was refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. 3) Service: Our server was very to the point, but it worked at an Eastern European-inspired restaurant. 4) Price: Used to D.C. prices, we found them not bad. Our bill was $109 and potions were large. 5) Vibe: It's a quaint and quirky spot. Walk inside and notice the unique art on the walls. It's so random, but really works well! read more

We decided to see what the buzz was about and visit on a Saturday. Knowing the challenge of getting a spot we showed up at 4:55 to get in when they open. We were 15th in line. We were able to grab the last 2 bar seats (our preferred) and ordered 2 beers. We then ordered the perogies w Ostrowski's sausage and kraut. Serious comfort food the was yummy good. We thought we might be too full for the Tavern pizza w sausage and peppers. Wrong. The pie had thin crust and great blend of cheese and was incredible. We polished it off and wobbled our way home. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. We will go back to try other food items. Even our bar seats had a waiting list when we left so you must plan your visit appropriately and realize they are small so a big group is a challenge. Perfect date night place! read more

I was very excited to finally try Little Donna's but unfortunately left very disappointed. We arrived early to our reservation and they were able to immediately seat us which was great. Cocktails were good, but our server forgot to put our order in so we had to wait a long time to get our food. She came back to our table to re-ask us what our order was since she never put it in. The lobster pierogis were phenomenal, but we did scarf them down since it was about an hour since we ordered and we were starving. For $36, I wish I had just ordered the normal pierogis. The catfish came out around the 1 hour and 30 minute mark, and while it was delicious we ate it so quickly because we were starving. We wanted to order another appetizer or a pizza, but we decided to leave and go somewhere else since the food was taking so long (we ended up going to Bar Alice Anne, their food was incredible and much faster!) This experience was really disappointing as we made this reservation to celebrate our engagement, which we put in the reservation notes and they fully ignored, and overall it was just not a great experience. The food was wonderful but the service made us leave and not want to come back. read more

The space itself is so cute and homey and it just makes you feel so comfortable. Servers have always been really friendly and helpful, especially when providing suggestions. The first time I came here I ordered regular pierogis and the pickle plate. I loved both! Most recently, I came here and ordered the lobster pierogis that were on special and the tavern pie! This place is known for their pizzas, but we actually recommend their other dinner options. The lobster pierogies are LOADED with lobster and the butter sauce is so rich and delicious. The crab pancakes and smoked trout dip were also both great starter options. For entrees, we had the special that day, which was beef and dumplings- it ended up selling out, and for good reason! Made a reservation for a table of two in advance by emailing Little Donna's. This restaurant is located at an end unit and very cozy. We ordered the Pierogi, Smoked trout, and Tavern pizza pie. The pierogi (4 pc) were deliciously homemade, fried so the edges were crispy, filled with potatoes and doused with sour cream, hot chili oil, and topped with parsley. Must get! The smoked trout came as a spread on top of toast. The smoked trout was absolutely delicious! Wish it came in a gallon tub that I can take home. The tavern pizza was nicely sized and thin crust. How have I never written a review for this place. I have loved Little Donnas since they opened summer 2022. I went for my bday dinner a few years ago and come back at least once a quarter for their Wednesday specials (iconic clam pie) and for fun dinners. I am so sad they don't have the little coddies anymore but they are doing fun pizzas - think persimmon, figs and lobster perogies. Last year it was a bit hectic to get in as they were written up by the NYT as the top 50 interesting places to eat in the US. Now they do free up a lot of tables and welcome walk ins - you don't have to wait too long, and you can find other little taverns to drink beforehand. They offer some outdoor seating but it's mainly indoors. It's a rowhome feel restaurant but the tenders are friendly. I've always been very happy with the meals here even if some are a miss - I love what Robbie is doing in Baltimore with Little Donna's. It's eastern European fare with a lot of pizzas. They will do half and half pizzas if the base is the same! (a little tip). read more

We tried Little Donna's on a Wednesday evening. There was a little wait but not bad. The bar area was available and we decided to hit up a high top. They seemed busy and told us it might be a wait. We did wait a little for both a server and our drinks. The decor was old timey but in a great way. Music was playing but not overpowering. Very lively atmosphere. The small place had character and charm. We ordered a salad, crab palacinke, the pierogis, and the pickled plate. The dishes were good but not knock your socks off fantastic like we had heard. The salad was good, the crab palacinke was cheesy, but had a weird texture, the pierogis were good but needed salt, and the pickled plate was average and the beets were the best thing on the plate. I got a dirty martini and the olive tasted a little off. All in all the meal was ok. I was expecting more. I would stop by for a beer and some pierogis. We would try the pizzas next time too. read more

We went here for my Mom's birthday after seeing it written up in the New York Times. It's a great neighborhood spot, if I lived in the area I'd definitely come often. It feels very homey and the food plays homage to the owner's grandparents. For appetizers we got the soup of the day, the smoked Carolina trout dip, and the crab palacinke. We thought all three were great, and the palacinke might be one of my favorite and most memorable appetizers I've had in awhile. The service was really great as well- our server was just so patient and welcoming and helpful. Now for the food- we got the pierogi just regular, and I thought they tasted a little bland. The filling was potato I think, and maybe I just don't understand pierogi, but to me I thought they would be slightly better with a tad more salt. The pizza I got was the tavern pie. The pizza, funnily enough, was a litttle too salty for me! I think the thin crust is unique but ultimately not my favorite. LOVED this place!! Came here the weekend before last when I was in Baltimore/DC and when I saw that they had a Polish-ish restaurant in the area, I had to go! My Dad's family is Polish and I'm in love with pierogis, and these definitely lived up to my expectations!! ***LOCATION*** Baltimore! We had flown in Friday night and taken a train to our Airbnb which wasn't far from here so we walked, as we were starving when we arrived and we barely made it before they closed! ***ATMOSPHERE*** They have limited seating but are super accommodating! They had either spots at the bar, or their 4 top by the window that they seat two couples at if the other spots are full. We opted for the bar just to save them their table in case a group of 4 came in. The inside was cozy and warm and felt very traditional and chill. I looked around and we asked the staff about the story and apparently the owner came from a diverse background and had lived in several places, so the menu is kind of a combination of his favorites! I know he mentioned one part of his fam was Polish, hence the pierogis which are their best sellers. ***STAFF*** Amazing staff! We each wanted to order a plate of pierogis but he suggested we split one and split another dish like a pizza because the pierogis are pretty "heavy". We took his suggestion and thankfully so! They were huge! I definitely would've felt sick had I eaten 4 huge pierogis! Haha pairing them with a thin crust pizza was perfect! ***FOOD*** 12/10! The pierogis tasted very authentic! I had never had them with a red chili sauce, but it was delicious! The pizza was also wonderful! ***CONCLUSION*** DEFINITELY would come back should I ever be here again! I'm already missing their pierogis!! read more
