This was my first time at lit and there were so many things to enjoy! We came for a friends birthday and there were so many picture worthy spots here! Lit is pretty Lit, but I don't have to run back. I can take a stroll back next year. Reasons Lit was lit: Cool decor Great food Nice staff Great DJ Reasons for my slow stroll back: Very pricey for the level of service and the fact I had to see a lot of butt cheeks while eating. If you downgrade your reservation for a large party they charge a fee. The fancy dessert with the sparklers is ice cream that was frozen rock hard and couldn't be cut with regular utensils. This is definitely a spot you have to check out! It's not just about the instagrammable walls, which are really nice! But the food is also really good and the concept of a restaurant which turns into a nightclub is what we need in Dallas! Ambience: Very spacious and several spots to take pictures. The couch is a really comfortable. Service: It was a little slow but our server was great! Food: We ordered the gnocchi, the apple chicken, garlic noodles, flatbread, edamame. All the other dishes were really good except the flatbread. It was more like a pizza. Definitely try out as many appetizers as you can. We ordered the smoke and spice and the strawberry drink. Both of them we're good! The drinks are on the pricier side though. Food did take time to come out, but it was also cold when it was coming out. Our server seemed to forget about us and we had to ask for her multiple times. The short rib tagliatelle, garlic noodles, and mushroom risotto were the dishes I really liked. The Philly cheesesteak dumplings were ok, nothing special. This was my first time in this establishment, and I thought that it was a nice place to hang out and the vibe was nice as well. Of course I feel like the food was overrated. It was at less than 50% capacity. They charged us for "open food" that we NEVER ordered for the seats of the guests that never showed up. April 17th I made a reservation for a party of two for Saturday, May 14 through "Touch Bistro." Almost one month in advance. I received a voicemail from Lit Lounge Friday, May 13th, so I call back the number ( which was a 971 ALASKAN number. Yes, Alaska. ) They told me I owed $50 for a deposit. $25 per person. This goes towards my bill. I asked since when? Why wasn't I able to do this when I booked using the system? She was fairly new, but asked an employee in the background. They say it's always been like that. She told me I could come up to the restaurant to pay the deposit. I told her that was an inconvenience for me. She told me I could call the actual business' number and pay by credit card. I told her thank you and just went on about my day. 1) the call from the cell phone not associated with the business to collect a payment for deposit over the phone is GHETTO. It was giving SCAM LIKELY. 2) We should be given an option to pay when we make the reservation.... 3) THE DAY BEFORE? What if this was a birthday outing? Now I had to scramble to find another replacement I can already see the way they do business is sketchy. I won't be paying a deposit like this to dine here. The decor is amazing, they have a photo booth area where you can text yourself the pictures, it doubles as a restaurant/club. There are tvs everywhere, the service & engagement with customers is outstanding! Downtown princess was my favorite drink! (For the ones who love sweet drinks) Get Litty & Get Kinky were pretty tasty as well. Chicken parm lollipops were okay & that doesn't mean much from me because I'm not crazy about mozzarella sticks and it seems to be a take on that with chicken in it. Chicken Diablo was pretty good, & the scallop fried rice was decent, and the garlic noodles were bomb!! Prices aren't listed anywhere, so here is a break down of our ticket... This place isn't upscale as advertised. If you set your expectations knowing that you'll have a better experience than I did. "Dress code strictly enforced" simply means no hats, until you get seated. I'm going to assume my server was brand new...while ordering wine she requested that I show her on the menu after I said it aloud twice. She requested the same thing while ordering food then when I inquired about a dessert menu she wasn't sure if there was one. My first pour of wine was in a glass with a smudge on the outside. Not a big enough deal to send back but I asked the server to get me a new glass for my second pour of wine. She returned with the carafe and tried to pour into the same smudged glass. When I reminded her I'd asked for a new glass she came back with the wine poured in a new but dirty glass (food particles and smudges this time). On the second try the manager brought over ANOTHER dirty glass (had smudges and was sticky on the foot of the glass). An "upscale" restaurant should invest in a glass polishing machine or a better dishwasher. Had the Salmon & Ahi Poke Bowl, nothing to write home about. My date had the Shaking Beef Tips and said the spicy sauce had an odd flavor/after taste. The California Roll was good, can't really mess that up though. The best part of my time at Lit was the live band. Will definitely check out Polo The Vibe and the band anywhere else they're performing. read more

Now under new management and recently reopening, Lit Lounge is gearing up to be a major player for Dallas Nightlife and entertainment. Owner is oblivious to bad service right under his nose as I met him the same night. The bartenders name was Ashley who threw a drink in my hair after I mentioned her bad service. Food was good - had seared scallops, ribeye steak (lots of non-marbled fat on the edges), Atomic Bomb dessert (which was actually fantastic). Drinks were fine. Then the check came. They took photocopies of my drivers license and credit card and said it was required to protect them from chargeback. I'm a 20 year professional, gray beard and all, paying with a high limit credit card - I'm sure I'm super high risk. Spoke to the owner, who would not budge on it. Oh, and let's not forget the mandatory 20% gratuity (fine) and additional "service charge" (wtf?) I should have grabbed everything and just left. I'm so pissed - no policy disclosure to let anyone know that's coming, no reasonable conversation about it or any concern with my uneasiness about it, just a promise that they shred it at some point. Now I have to watch my credit like a hawk. I was so mad I just wanted to get it over with and leave. I hope the $300 tab was worth a scathing review and permanent loss of any future business I might have given you. I'll be calling it the BBB on Monday to report the practice. The otherwise good experience was absolutely ruined by this bullsh*t. Oh, and the other party at my table wasn't subjected to this (at least that we know of). My friend and I had reservations for dinner and two hours before our reservation, we received an email that stated they were going to have a live jazz band and that it would be a $10 cover charge. If we decided to cancel our reservation or was a no-show, they would charge us $25. Who does that? Despite that, we decided to go to listen to the band and grab dinner. Instead of seating us at a table for two, they sat us at the bar. The food menu has prices but the drink menu does not. I tried to order three different dishes that were on the menu, but they were out of the main ingredient. So I settled on scallop rice and my friend had a burger. Neither of us liked our meals. We also ordered two drinks each and they tasted like Kool-Aid. Once we got the bill, we saw the drinks were $18 each. My check came to $98, which included a 20% gratuity that was automatically added. Now to the music. The band may have been really good, but there is really no way of knowing because the acoustics were horrible. The music was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other. All in all, it had a bar vibe. It just wasn't the right vibe for me, so I won't be going back. read more

The absolute WORST dining experience I've EVER had!! I'll start with the one good thing...the food that they FINALLY brought out to me after telling me they were out of the first two items I'd ordered was OK. Sadly, that's where the good part ends. I came with 2 friends and every item we ordered came out separately with about 15-20 minutes in between each item's arrival...even the drinks! The drinks btw...woo, the bartender was just tossing whatever she had in a glass & calling it what you ordered! Two of us ordered an old fashioned and they didn't even look like the same drink...neither was an actual old fashioned and one of them wasn't even drinkable - it looked like a glass of Fanta (orange soda). We tried to speak to our server about it and she kept saying she was new and ignored everything we said to her. We tried speaking with who we we were told was the manager and he actually LIED and told us he was a host (turns out he was one of the owners). We asked to speak to the manager AGAIN and he never came. Nope...he was too busy serving and taking shots with another table and walked past our table a good 20 or so times with not so much as a side eye. I'll never come again and will never recommend anyone else patronize this alleged restaurant. They have no concept of service and should not be in this line of business at all. The waitress we had....just terrible!! She wouldn't take accountability for anything and kept blaming her errors on being new. When the check came, the very items we were told they didn't have were on our bills! The owners never came over to rectify the situation. The whole experience was legitimately baffling! There WAS one server there who was trying to help though, Bre, bless her heart. I hope she finds another job that's worthy of all her efforts because this place is a sinking ship. read more

I had my birthday dinner about 2 weekends ago here, the food was so delicious and the owner Reza and staff were so accommodating to my party. The ambience was very lively and DJ were playing some good music and the decor of the place was top notch. Even though a little on the pricey side you get what you paid for. It was very nice to enjoy it with friends and the feedback I got was incredible. I recommend coming here, there was no wait on drinks or food and plenty of it, a few friends took boxes for the entire week. I definitely recommend to host a party here because they are so attentive and such exceptional customer service. I went for the food when they first opened and it was decent but not very accommodating. I requested a dish without the sauce that gives it an umami flavor and the chef asked me how he could stir fry it without the sauce. I suggested olive oil and it was not well received so had to order a different dish, which was decent but not great. Tried to go again on their Wednesday night jazz night and no prices are listed anywhere but they charge $20, on a wednesday, for an unknown band. I know of no other establishment that would charge that much on a wednesday (or really even on the weekends). The decor is nice but if you're going to be upscale, have a chef who can accommodate. And if you can't do that, charge non-upscale prices. read more

NYE experience here was a complete joke! Luckily the Ambience was beautiful so we got cute pics and DJ was ok so we danced a little, but the food and service was HORRIBLE! Took 2hours to get overcooked, clearly previously frozen food. I appreciate the Mgr heavily discounting our meal, due to the horrible service, but we came to spend money and bring in the new year with a bang, and left extremely disappointed. When you have to order Chilis at 10:30 at night bc you're still starving, after they tried a "new" $75 per person 5 course menu that was absolute TRASH, there is a problem #shoutout to @Chilis for saving the night. So we checked out the new Lit Kitchen for our anniversary weekend. This place did not disappoint. I saw a few bad reviews over the past few months. Complaints about food and service. Apparently the food in this place has been significantly improved since changing owners. The cheesesteak dumplings were delicious. We also had a Rainbow Roll that was yummy as well. The drinks are crazy good. Just tried a few things as a test run, but will return to try signature entrees. Now the ambience reminded me of Vegas restaurants. The club area also reminded me of Vegas. The DJs were jammin. Yes, I am old. It's a great spot with bottle service available. Everyone should check it out. It has great potential as a go to restaurant and nightclub. Upon arrival to the exit we were well fed and well entertained. Truly an experience I won't forget. I can't remember what I ate but it the basmati rice was cooked to perfection. Nice and fluffy! The manager came and greeted us at our table and made us feel welcomed. Even bought me a birthday drink. The ambiance is definitely a whole vibe and energy to match. Shrimp was overcooked and serving size was small for the price tag of $25.00 All drinks were pretty, but not effective (lacking alcohol) Just sweet pretty drinks. $18-$20 each I will attach my receipt of $193.68 and this was for 2 people. This evening the girls decided to go to lit with the Alice in Wonderland Theme. Upon first glance it was most definitely a vibe with a beautiful whimsical entrance. So let me start at the beginning, there is plenty of paid parking across the street $15 however tou can valet for $10. I think with the location and cost complimentary valet would have been nice. So we entered into a whimsical entrance with a beautiful waterfall at the door, we were greeted and seated very quickly. Now the time was around 645p and the place had plenty of seating this early. So after we were seated we order The Litty and The Gitty and the drinks were fire for sure. We decided to head back to the front where the Alice in Wonderland decor stopped. They had a cute place for all the selfies your heart desires so we took advantage. After that we went back to our seats where Brianna our beautiful and knowledgeable waitress was there to assist us with everything on the menu...ps when you go...look for her she was extremely professional and helpful. They have a nightclub there on weekends as well, but I can't opine on that part except to say that they are very well set up for it and the bar selection and decor are luxurious. I recently hosted a welcome dinner for my mom who was visiting Dallas so she could meet about 15 of my friends at Lit Kitchen. We all had a fabulous time! From when we arrived and enjoyed the unique and creative cocktails at the bar, to the delicious food we all devoured it was the perfect evening! The atmosphere delivers the right combination of a place to go for a fun night out, with enough finesse to hit the target for a destination to go for a special meal. The staff (greeters, bartenders, wait staff, and the manager Rickey checked on us) were friendly, welcoming, prompt, and attentive. They even put my mom's name up on the large screen behind the DJ booth (whose set we enjoyed while we dined) to welcome her. Then they also personalized the sign that came along with the bottle service of champagne for the table - this made her feel so special! OMG, where do I start?! Came to LIT for my after party reception on 12/1 and couldn't have chosen a better place. First, the DJ was spot on with the music and definitely knew how to read the room! I don't think I sat down all night. The drinks were spot on and definitely did what they needed to do. The workers were super helpful and nice. I genuinely left my wedding feeling like a princess and continued that same feeling all night. Service was super quick and the vibe was everything I wanted/needed to end my wedding night. I highly recommend this place for any events you may have. You will definitely be taken care of! I wish I had pics to post but like I said the DJ kept me on the floor and the drinks did what they needed to do. 10/10 read more
