Great service and selection. Lit has some really unique dresses, blazers, skirts, leggings, and jewelry. Prices range mostly from $30-$80, but there are some more expensive pieces as well. They also have a really cute selection of shoes and boots, but they tend to be a bit pricey, unless they are having a sale. read more

This is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) boutique in Boston. If I need a dress for a special occasion, I know that if I go to Lit, I am going to find the perfect dress. They have tons of dresses as well as tops and skirts. They also have some cool accessories like belts and necklaces. The only reason that I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I feel they were cheaper when they opened and now they are getting a little pricier. Other than that, it's awesome. read more

Lit tends to have a lot of really cute dresses, especially ones that translate from working at the office to going out at night, which is often hard for me to find. Some of the clothes look cheaply made, but they have some good stuff in there too. I'd give it 3 stars if my review was based solely on clothing selection, but I am bumping it up to 4 because every time I have been in there the customer service was top notch. read more

We were waiting for our dinner reservations and we walked over to Lit just to browse. Loved this boutique! Yes, the ambience could be a little more well thought out but the selection of clothes were on point! I bought a darling dress for around $60.00 (really??) and I received so many compliments on it even as we walked back to our hotel later that night. I thought the sales associates were helpful enough--they don't hover but if you ask for help, they are there. With a wide selection of trendy pieces and a wide array of prices and brands, it is one I will definitely go back to the next time I am in Boston! read more

I'd give Lit 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 3... for now. This is definitely a decent place to kill some time while browsing. The styles are fun and there is a wide selection. They usually have good music playing, too. BUT, I have to say I'm surprised at how much love Lit is getting because the quality of the merchandise is pretty horrendous! If the prices were (even a little!) lower, it would be a great spot for trendy and somewhat disposable clothes, but it's a BOUTIQUE and they clearly want you to pay for the privilege of shopping there. Seriously, they are selling very poorly made, coming apart at the seams, ill-fitting, synthetic crap at prices they should be ashamed of. But it's CUTE crap! It really is. Bummer. Now, to be fair...not everything they sell is junk. They do carry the occasional sturdy piece made out of real silk or cotton, but of course that'll cost ya twice what the crappy version will. At that point you're spending $200+ on a cocktail dress so why not just go to Twilight up the street where you'll find superior quality all around? Lit also carries a few lovely pieces of jewelry and accessories by local designers, so good for them on that. The employees always seem to be very nice and helpful, too. I have spotted a few decent finds in their sale racks, so my advice is to look there first and save your pennies for clothes that won't unravel on you! read more

I didn't even have a Yelp account until I went to Lit. I had the worst customer service experience of my life a couple weeks ago. I was sold a romper for $75 that had 2 huge holes and a broken zipper. I didn't try it on in the store so I didn't realize until I got home. When I tried to return it a couple days later I was told, "sorry love, nothing I can do" by their airhead manager. She said that she trained the girls there and they would never sell something in that condition. The fact is, they did and I wasn't willing to take a $75 loss. It was my first experience with the store so I told the manager that there had to be something she could do. She responded with, "I don't have to do anything for you". After about 15 minutes of trying to reason with her she called her manager who told her to give me a replacement. She never apologized for the inconvenience or anything just told me that "this WILL be a final sale". Like I'd ever go back! Haha read more

The girl who helped me was fabulous, I left with a new romper and necklace that she picked out and I couldn't be happier. Only wish I got her name so I could thank her again!!! read more

you can seeeeeriously drop a dolla in here. i live in the north end and am fortunate enough to have such an awesome boutique closeby--you won't find this stuff at faneuil. the owner is extremely helpful and kind and the clothes are adorable. it's pricey, but the quality is way better than the cheap (albeit occasionally cute) stuff you find at H&M and forever21. definitely recommended if you have some cash to burn and need someone to help you pick out a baller dress. read more

When I first walked in, I was greeted by two very friendly associates and they allowed me to look around on my own for a little while until they approached me asking for help. Now, normally I just say that I am looking around, but this time I decided to actually ask for help. I am glad I did that, because the girl who helped me was so nice and amazing, she really knew her stuff. She picked out about 5 great sewaters for me and I loved 4 of them, but one was too large for me so I couldn't buy it. She did however see if their other boutique had it in my size which they unfortunately didn't. Anyways, the other associate, well she was a little bit of an issue. One of the sweaters I tried on was a little too short in my opinion and she kept pushing it on me saying that it was perfect and looked amazing, and I wasn't sold. But, she continued to sell it on me. She also convinced me that another sweater was so cute and I honestly only bought it to make her stop talking. I wish I had opted to purchase the other sweater I loved, but I am happy that I purchased my favorite one. The one I do not like, I will just have to give it a try and see what happens. All in all, the store was nice and the prices were similar to other stores I visited that day so I wouldn't call it too expensive, but also it wasn't cheap. read more

I love Lit Boutique - clothes are adorable, affordable, and the staff is really sweet! My review is more focused on the staff & the store's willingness to help out the community. I'll keep it short & sweet - I was raising money to run in the 2013 Boston Marathon for the American Liver Foundation and asked Lit if they'd like to donate a GC, an item, jewelry, etc. to my fundraiser. LIT did not have to do this - they didn't have to help me - a girl they hardly knew, they didn't have to donate 2 beautiful pieces of jewelry, they didn't have to invest the time into checking with the store's managers/owners to make sure this was OK, they really didn't owe me anything. But they did. And they were kind, they were helpful, they were thoughtful, and I will always be forever grateful for people who go out of their way to help others. 5 stars for the store, but 5+ stars for LIT's positive involvement in the community & giving back to others! read more

I like lit alot, even though the prices are borderline pushing it, sometimes its worth it to not have the sameeee Express sweater as everyone else, you know! Usually I am against spending 60 bucks on a t shirt but here its like you find cute and unique pieces so I can justify it. Especially comparatively, it is one of the more affordable botiques in the north end. I also got a pair of wedge suede boots with a fur trim and little bows on the front. I don't know if I described them well but theyre adorable in person, and at 145 sure theyre pricey but theyre less than uggs and a lot more original. I get at least 5 compliments every time I wear them. ALso theyre superrrr comfy yet still give me a bit of height. Ok so enough on the boots! The staff seems super super sweet and helpful, espeically if you appear to be buying haha. I haven't gone there extensively so i can't offer too much more but overall it is a fun, different little place. read more

I will admit that the store window display in the North End store has pulled me into this store multiple times and every time I am in there, I am so underwhelmed! I will admit, the clothes look cute and are fashionable in terms of style.. the same can be said re: the accessories. They are very in-the-moment and attractive. Also, the clothes tend to cater to a very young 20-something crowd and very small (If you are over 23 years old and larger than a size 6 like I am, then sorry, ladies, but this store probably isn't for you!). The clothes tend to be weekend clothes as many are backless or low-cut or clingy and you would be sent home from work from most offices. Everything in the store seems grossly marked up for the quality. The material is all cheap and the tailoring horrific; no doubt all mass produced in China. Every time I am tempted to try something on, it fits terribly given the cut and synthetic material and the price tag is appalling. Another reviewer compared this store to Jasmine Sola/ Urban Outfitters and I could not agree more! Fashionable, cheaply-made disposable clothing! I gave the store an extra star as the costume jewelry is nice and more reasonably priced so you can find some cute pieces. Bonus: They have a decent selection of some nice House of Harlow pieces (Nicole Richie line) as well as other nice jewelry lines that are reasonably priced. I don't mind buying a trendy piece of jewelry that is in style for one season only provided it is priced accordingly. Perk: I was surprised how BEAUTIFULLY they package their jewelry! They place each piece in a very pretty, expensive-looking "Lit Boutique" embossed cardboard jewelry box, wrap it in a bright purple piece of gauze-like tissue paper and put it in a pretty "Lit Boutique" embossed, well-made small shopping bag. read more
