This is one of my favorite secondhand stores. They have a great selection of items. I find the prices a bit high for used clothes, but they are discounted after a certain period of time. I just hope the items I want are still there when I go back later. It's also a bit difficult to get an appointment to sell your items. The store is pretty popular and the appointments book quickly. I missed out on selling my items here last season :( The workers seem very nice as well. I've never interacted with them other than checking out, but I've overheard their conversations with other customers and they seem friendly. I always find something I like and can afford when I shop at Options Consignment. The staff is helpful when you just aren't sure how to style something, or need a nice necklace or handbag, but they aren't pushy in the slightest. Also, I love the music they play. This is a wonderful shop with a huge selection good prices many sizes and styles. I have often purchased new with tags items from J Jill Talbots Chico's and many other brand names like banana republic and J.Crew they also have a policy of the price drops after a certain time. This is a shame. I'd give 5 stars if not for the rude staff. When I tried to bring in clothes to consign, she acted so exasperated, and like my clothes were not worth having in her store. I understand if they're not up to par, but she very rudely put down some of my items. Her demeanor was very surly. And by the looks of the other reviews here, I'd say she wasn't just surly to me. Other than the staff, the products here are great. Prices are reasonable and clothes and jewelry are of very high quality for a consignment store. I've been going to both Option shops in Littleton for several years now. I find some great stuff from both shops most times. I don't find the staff rude in either place. What I do find is if you talk to the owners and employees they're more than happy to talk to you and are very helpful. Libby purchased Options Clothing just before the pandemic lockdown. She has done some remodeling, updated the consignment systems, layout & displays. If you haven't visited lately, you should! It's less crowded, brighter, and cleaner, with a higher quality, better-organized & more carefully chosen selection of items in a wide range of sizes & current styles, as well as some carefully chosen vintage pieces & high-end pieces & accessories like Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, etc. She carries quite a few higher-quality items & brands like NYDJ, Chico's, Talbots, JCrew, Loft, Ann Taylor, WHBM, Nordstrom, etc at fantastic prices. Everything is clean and in nearly new or new with tags condition. Prices are unbeatable - $28 for new-with-tags NYDJ jeans, $16 for new-with-tags Chico's sweaters. The staff, esp. Libby, are friendly, helpful, and great with suggestions, too. I've been shopping here occasionally for nearly 30 years since Options Clothing first opened, and the store's transformation is so fresh & timely that I'll going back a lot more often. I left with a large bag to filled with big name items to refresh my wardrobe - 4 pairs of NYDJ jeans, 3 Chico's sweaters, a Talbot's top, and a coordinating sweater set & capris from J.Jill - all new with tags (no irregulars, either), all very clean (no funky storage odors, etc) in current styles & trends, for just over $200. I love this shop! Everyone at work always asks where I get such nice clothes (and so many of them). I have stopped in literally on my way to an event and had enthusiastic staff bringing clothes to my dressing room to try on. They actually put together accessories and practically dressed me in the shop - everything but hair and makeup, lol. Definitely recommend. read more

Clean, current, good quality clothes organized by size and type so it's easy to find something appropriate for you. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My mother used to own her own dress store and knows a lot about clothes. We like this store, like the location, and don't know any other stores like this in our area. We find some items over priced but if you hit it right, (Check the dates on the ticket) you can get unique stuff. When we brought a pile of clothes to consign, the person looked at them and said in a voice that offended my mother, "WE don't take clothes that are out of date." Later, when Mom and I were looking at clothes in the shop my mother pointed out some items. "Look at this, " she said incredulously, "If this isn't twenty years old, I'll eat a horse!" I couldn't stop laughing. We still go back and have fun. Actually, I had a very nice conversation with someone who worked there last time. I can't agree with the others about rudeness. We have fun. I love the music there! We have lunch at the dumpy little pizza store in the town center. They make great grinders and generous tuna salads. The type of items is variable at Options---you could easily purchase a sterling silver mirror and a Pyrex dish in the same outing. I'm more inclined to buy the mirror, but I appreciate that there's a local place to buy used housewares year-round (kind of like a year-round yard sale). The salespeople are always friendly and unobtrusive. I never feel hovered over, nor do I feel overlooked. A good combination! read more

I have both bought and consigned here. The stock is carefully chosen and generally in style and in excellent condition. Prices are quite high; too high for me to shop here regularly, but it all depends on your frame of reference; you can get great deals on good labels if you're comparing against purchasing those labels new (I shop virtually 100% used clothing, so that's not the way I look at it; other consignments shops with lower prices and great thrift shops are my preference). Their prices of course, benefit the consigner, so it's a fine place to consign! I do agree that the owner has a rather brusque attitude and always strikes me as busy and preoccupied with things that are much more important than me, whether I'm there to buy or sell. While their selection can be great at times, not all of their items will be available to you if you're just a casual shopper. The workers often put things on hold for acquaintances. For example, I saw something I liked on Wednesday and it had a hold sign on it. I went back on Friday and asked if it was still on hold. I was told, "It just went on hold today," which I knew was a LIE. I called again on Saturday and they said it was still on hold. When I mentioned that I was there on Wednesday, their tone suddenly changed and they quickly retorted, "It was sold. It's being picked up today." I have spent hundreds of dollars there in the past few years on hutches, dining sets, and lamps, but apparently I'm not recognizable enough to be treated well. I will never return to this store. It is unfortunate a business can get away with making customers feel like such a nuscance and so uncomfortable. My mother had an appointment to bring clothes to be consigned and felt so demoralized by the woman "judging" her that she made an appointment for the next season just because it annoyed the employee so much. When the appointment came around I wanted to sell some clothes and I didn't believe it could be as bad as my mom explained. I left that place wanting to cry and disgusted with myself that I allowed a woman like that to profit from me in such a way. I felt so sick when I got home that I called to have my clothes put aside so I could pick them up, even though I dropped them off to 20 minutes earlier. I went back, killed them with kindness, picked up my clothes and dropped my designer jeans at the church donation room. The staff here is offensive and hypocritical if they think they can run a business based on sustainible women's fashion and continue to treat people this way. Research some aspects of customer service and, frankly, general social skills - it will help you in business and in life. read more

Smells not-so-good when you walk in. Staff is unfriendly(except for 1); they act like they are doing you a favor. They turn their noses down on brands like Lauren and BCBG(!?!?!). While I agree there is one woman that is incredibly rude and seems totally oblivious to it, I always find good clothes and jewelry there, and usually have some good conversations with the staff. Everything looks like its brand new, which means the workers are doing their job as they should be! Most of the compliments i get on jewelry are on pieces I have found there! I want to be clear about this, I usually don't do this but because I worked in a consignment shop in New york for many many many years, I feel the need to defend and explain: a lot of the complaints here are coming from the workers doing their job, and are from shoppers who do not understand how it works. You'd be shocked at the nagging, almost obsessive behaviors of the people that bring in their clothes! When a consigner brings in their clothes, the store DOES give them a contract, and they agree to the prices that are given, and the dates they mark down. Then at the end when they get a payout, there is a detailed (or it should be detailed) list of the items that sold. CONSIGNERS WILL ADD UP WHAT THEY ARE RECEIVING TO MAKE SURE IT MATCHES THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. Seriously. A store can't just adjust prices all the time because it is their job to serve the CONSIGNER as well as the CUSTOMER. (I've had clients yell at me over a .50 cent difference, no lie.) People DO expect to get the clothes back that don't sell most of the time. Just think, if you brought your clothes in, you would hope the store wouldn't rip you off by giving you less than what you agreed to. Also, consignment shops do have to be very picky when it comes to ACCEPTING clothes. With about 4 clients a day, each bringing in about 50 items, you must understand that, unless it is a huge store, they simply can NOT take everything! I found that people tend to think their clothes are worthy of the Queen, when I know they will sit in the store for a year untouched. anyway, I like this place, I wish it was a little more spacious, but overall I tihnk they run a good business, it is not an easy business to be in. read more

I will not return to this store after a bad experience I had. I found a sweater and skirt set and there was another version of the sweater elsewhere in the store in the same brand and color, just a different style (brought in by the same consignor). I asked if I could buy the set and the other sweater, then re-sell the sweater that was part of the set, which I didn't want. Well, the reaction I got was unbelievable! I am a regular customer and have spent thousands of dollars in this store. I also own a business that operates on consignment, and we go out of our way to make phone calls to consignors, break up sets, or do whatever we can to make our customers happy and give them what they want! Not here. They stared at me as if I was an annoyance as they went about their chores and told me that it would be too much trouble for them! "It's not worth it," I was told! It's clear to me that my business doesn't matter--it's all about their time and moving the merchandise. With so many other great choices for purchasing discount clothing, I won't be back! read more

Many times I have seen wal-mart or not so high end clothes, as this isn't the issue, charging more than what the item started out as. Such as a t shirt. I used to consign with them a few years ago but stopped and no longer shop there either. Their staff is extremely rude in the clothing store and act as if you are bothering them if you ask a simple question. The home store staff is much more pleasant and helpful. It is a shame since it was once very good. The owner needs to hire people that help their business - not lose customers. Reading other reviews, it is a common theme. Ironically, "Options" is full of everything but. As somebody who frequently shops consignment, I find Options to be a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I walked in the store and was initially met with suspicious stares from the employees. One of these asked me "what do you need?" which I personally do not find to be a particularly welcoming sentiment. I find the employees snobby, unwelcoming and overall unprofessional. There are FAR BETTER consignment shops to go to if you're willing to drive. I think this place gets away with their despicable customer service because they are not facing any local competition. As far as the merchandise, I found it to have a shockingly small amount of plus-size (size 14) clothing. I tend to find that many other like stores carry up to size 16-18 but not "Options" ironically does not have options for anybody wearing size 12/14+. I would not recommend this as a staple consignment store. Not a pleasant shopping experience in any sense of the word. read more

I have been going to options for years, the ladies on the home goods side have been marvelouse, but the clothing side is another story. This was the 2nd time I had to put up with unacceptable behavior. First time I had to tell the worker to stop following me, everywhere I went, she was near. I know the store is small, but to be on my heels was enough. Today was the last straw, I came from Framingham, and was excited about brining my friend with me, she was first told to be quiet, we then put some clothes on the hold rack, because my friend wanted to try them on. She tried them on and hung up what she wanted back up, the clerk came over and asked her if she was finished and said that she had to straighten the clothes up to put them back. I tried on a coat with double zippers, which is sometimes hard to pull up, after a couple of attemps, the clerk told me that she was going to have the owner fix it, for me to stop trying; granted it was from the markdown rack. I've been going to Options for years, as both a customer and consignor. I have to agree with much of the negative input here about the staff BUT it depends on who is working that day I've had good and bad experiences. I do think they forget they are selling USED clothing and are much too picky considering what I see in inventory already. Their prices vary and can be high......$7 for a used Gap t-shirt? Anyway, if I'm in the area, I might stop in but I will not consign there any more. I do like the home store next store where the people are very friendly and you can find some good items. read more

Pretty good consignment for women's clothing here in Littleton which saves me the time of going closer into Boston. I was much more impressed than I thought I would be! The selection is decent, and there are several good designer brands that I saw quite a bit of. Size selection is good and lots of shoes and purses to browse through. Prices are fair and clothing in very good shape. I only wish it were bigger! read more

This review applies to the clothing store. (The Options home store right next to it is great!) I am someone who almost never bothers submitting these types of reviews, so I hope Options will see this, and perhaps learn about the effect that poor customer service can have on their business. I previously enjoyed shopping here for years, but after my experience this afternoon, I will no longer be consigning with Options, nor supporting their business, and here is why: I called there on 10/21/16, when my consignment period ended, and was told that one of my items had sold, so I went there this afternoon to obtain the payout. Since I had 4 items remaining on my list, and did not wish to spend more time & gas returning to pick these up, I cheerfully and willingly offered to retrieve my clothing from the racks myself. The staff person made it very clear that I was not to do this, and that it was against the rules. She spoke to me as if I were a child, and offered to retrieve my items for me in another day or 2, saying I could return later to get them. REALLY??? I was not allowed to pick up MY OWN STUFF??? Her devotion to this bureaucratic nonsense was clear, but I was already there, and did NOT wish to spend more time & gas on another trip, just to satisfy her need to enforce a rule. I remained polite, but it was clear that she was not hearing me. (She had already asked me THREE times whether I had called ahead, and THREE times I told her that I had...Was this a clue that she was not in the mood to listen or hear me!!??). She had NO compassion for my situation, so I gave up, and left without my things, as it was clear that she was unwilling to compromise. I thought about simply finding and taking my things anyway, but decided to avoid such a drama. Hopefully, my things will be donated to someone who will appreciate them, but I no longer wish to support behavior or businesses that are not willing to make reasonable allowances to honor another human being's reasonable request. I've been both a customer and a consignor for years, but I think I'm done -- who needs the attitude of the staff (the owner maybe?) there -- I don't! I am used to the selectivity that Options has with respect to items to be consigned, but recently the experience has changed in a way that is really unpleasant -- when returning my items to me, the staff there basically sneered that the items were dated. Not 'thank you, but we can't accept these' or 'we are looking for more updated items' -- no, a nasty comment and that was it. This has changed my feeling about the place and I won't be returning -- who needs to be insulted in a retail establishment? And honestly, without consignors, they would be out of business.
